Took a chance and ordered some take out while I had a drink at the bar. Good food, service and value. Will definitely try again.

After an exhausting late-night summoning ritual, I needed a strong drink, a bite to eat, and a spot…read moreto decompress before heading back into the void. All Souls Lounge in Salem was the perfect sanctuary. It's a small, intimate spot that fills up fast, if you don't get there early, you'll be left haunting the sidewalk waiting for a table. Luckily, they offer outdoor seating, which was great for cooling off after spending two hours surrounded by ceremonial candles. The service was remarkably fast for a packed house. The cocktails were delicious and flavorful, though if you're looking to banish your inner demons in one sip, note that they aren't the absolute strongest in town. What really stole the show, however, was the food menu: they have a massive selection of gourmet grilled cheeses and hot dogs. Speaking of which: after finishing my meal, I went home inspired to attempt another quick ritual. I was trying to summon an ancient Hot Dog Spirit to bless my midnight snack cravings, but I mangled the Latin incantation and accidentally conjured a Grilled Cheese Ghost instead. Now my apartment smells like toasted sourdough, and there is a glowing ectoplasmic slice of melted cheddar hovering over my couch. Overall, a fantastic spot to refuel whether you're a local, a tourist, or just an exhausted practitioner of the dark arts. Highly recommend!

I wish I had a better experience. Feigning for a grilled cheese and hearing the hype, the boss and…read moreI entered this local place (yes we are locals), and was instructed by BOTH bartenders to have a seat anywhere. Over the next 20 minutes (without service or even a "come to the bar to order even though you're sitting at a table") we watched as three more couples walked in, met by the bartender (who passed by us to accomplish ) brought to a table, and then served. When the second bartender came out from around the bar, we perked up, only to find them addressing yet another couple that arrived after us. We got zero drinks, we got zero acknowledgment. For a bar that says "all souls welcome", we certainly did not feel it.

It's a neat historic hotel with a GREAT location. We had 5 in our group with a double queen room…read moreand they brought up the roll bed and extra towels before we had barely opened the suitcases. The room was nice, no complaints. I loved the lemonade in the lobby. Bonus: free parking. Here's the kicker... I accidentally made the reservation for the day prior, so we didn't have one when we got there (we were on a 10 night trip in 5 different hotels so things got scrambled). To make a long story short they found us a mostly comparable room and credited the charges for the previous vacant night. That's pretty amazing and basically saved this working-class family's vacation from being a downer.

My family stayed here in May 2024, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, our…read moreexperience with the nighttime employee was a significant exception. The individual working the nighttime shift was consistently rude, harsh, and unprofessional in the way they interacted with guests. I witnessed them speaking loudly, yelling at people, and using inappropriate language. Their overall demeanor made the environment uncomfortable and did not reflect the level of customer service I would expect from this establishment. I had originally planned to return this May because we enjoyed our previous stay so much. However, I was disappointed to discover that this individual is still working there. When I called to ask about room availability and rates for weekends in May, the conversation was extremely frustrating. I asked whether the property was booked every weekend in May. I was asked which dates, and I explained that I was interested in the weekends throughout May rather than one specific date. I was told that they could not look at the entire month at once. I explained that I understood and was simply asking about the weekends in May. I had also just been on the website, which instructed me to call to check availability. Instead of assisting me, the employee became increasingly short with me and repeatedly demanded specific dates in a raised voice. I finally said, "Well, you're a lot of help, aren't you?" The response was, "Yeah," followed by the employee hanging up on me. I understand that employees may be busy and that availability inquiries can take time, but there is no reason for a guest to be spoken to in that manner. Hanging up on a potential returning customer was particularly disappointing. I had every intention of coming back because of how much my family enjoyed our stay in 2024. Unfortunately, this interaction has made me reconsider returning. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and address the customer-service concerns surrounding the nighttime employee.

Today was the pork belly tacos, the taco salad, and some beeyahs. Delicious tacos once again, crema, pickled radish, and jalapeño makes a delicious bite. Pork belly alone was underseasoned, but the whole bite makes it worth it! The bucket of taco salad was filled with choice of shredded beef. Done well, dressed nicely tourist pricing but that's normal all around town. I like coming here in the afternoons or later lunches for a relaxing time, good food, and a great atmosphere.

The food is nothing spectacular, though it's not bad either--just kinda mid. We had the ceviche, which was decent for $16. The drink menu itself is really cool, but it is very overpriced. Because we had already had a couple of drinks elsewhere and were mostly just buying time, we opted to stick with water. The ambiance is easily the best part of the experience. It's a fun, lively rooftop bar that sits right in the middle of everything in town. It offers some nice views directly over the main pedestrian street in Salem, though honestly, beyond that, you can't see much else. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We didn't have a reservation and weren't thrilled with the seats we were given, but that's fair game for walking in. It's a neat place to stop in for a quick view if you're passing through, but be prepared for typical tourist-heavy prices for drinks.

i can't believe i haven't made it to kitchen table sooner! wow, what a delightful experience. when…read morei walked in, every single staff member smiled at me. all of them. i've never had that experience before, i was so excited to finally eat here. i love farm-to-table restaurants with local ingredients, it's my favorite. there are 3 different seating areas, i sat at the bar for a solo date. parker is an excellent bartender, and although i came in for the steak tips, i couldn't decide between steak or chicken for my first visit. parker said both are great but between those two, the chicken is his favorite. there was a couple seated next to me that said they come all the time, and anything you order here, will be completely satisfying. i thought they may just be saying that, but truly after my first time here, i believe it wholeheartedly. i ordered their roasted chicken, a marinated, semi-boneless half chicken with sautéed spring spinach & vegetables, and mashed maine potatoes. bread service 9.9/10 roasted chicken 10/10 spring vegetables 10/10 mashed potatoes 9.8/10 but it's better if you do cocktail 10/10 first, the "but it's better if you do," is fantastic. not my typical go-to type of drink, and i was more than pleasantly surprised and loved it. privateer white rum, sour plum liqueur, simple, peychauds with a dehydrated lime. "It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality" - i picked it because of this quote on the menu, and i forgot how much i used to love p!atd. i thought to myself, "i've heard this before somewhere..." i loved the bread & roasted garlic butter, however on a little cutting board it was difficult not to make a mess. i guess that's part of what makes it "kitchen table." it is the perfect, round sourdough loaf with the most delicious butter. the roasted chicken was prepared flawlessly. juicy and tender inside, and a perfect crispy skin, just wow. i absolutely loved the selection of spring vegetables, along with the sherry sauce; sautéed spinach, carrots, mushrooms, and onions. the mashed potatoes were perfect once i added extra salt, extra pepper & whipped it up with more of that garlic butter to my liking, however it was prepared great. i requested it without bacon butter, how it typically comes prepared, and the garlic butter is a great substitute. everything was impeccable. i travel to boston often just for food, because i find that the food in beverly, as a whole, is just not up to par, even with all of the marketing. kitchen table is different than any other restaurant in beverly, and now i don't have to travel so far to get the most delicious meals! i am honestly blown away by how amazing my meal was, and i highly recommend kitchen table to anyone in the north shore, and i'd even say it's completely worth going out of your way for. whether solo, a romantic or friend date, or with a small or large group, kitchen table is here to serve (one of the best meals you've had in a long time). there were some other ladies at the bar that were extremely hospitable and helpful as well, i didn't catch their names this time. i wanted to take some pictures at the end of my meal, at closing time when it had emptied out, and molly encouraged me to take all the pictures i needed. just fantastic service by all of the staff. i couldn't be happier with my first experience at kitchen table. here's to many more! ambiance: 4.9/5 food: 5/5 drinks: 5/5 service: 5/5 kitchen table: 5/5
