Worse service! Got a to go drink the day before and it wasn't made right. I was heading to an appointment long distant and didn't have time to go back as well as the other barista that took the order that day was rude (Jasmin), second encounter with her and same cold rudeness., even if I had time I wouldn't go back to her. The next morning I told Emma the barista and she was very misleading about redoing it, initially she said I can get a different drink but was charging me, when I asked why she said "you're getting a different drink, do want the same as yesterday's" I agreed and then she was charging me for that as well, I asked why, her reply "that was yesterday" I felt like I was in some bad comedy show! I won't be going back or recommending this location in Del Mar to anyone! read more

Wanted to check out the new Better Buzz location. Everything was fine until my boyfriend started spitting out large chunks of macro plastics. He ordered an açaí smoothie which ended up having multiple of these pieces in them. Not sure how that happens but the plastic was pretty sharp. He was lucky enough to catch this and not swallow the pieces, but who knows how many micro plastics are being blended into all these smoothies. read more

:( today was a sad day. Stopped off to get some breakfast before heading out to Fletcher Cove. Got a pistachio croissant, latte, chili crisp wrap and blueberry cold brew. Got to the cove and ate half of the wrap. Took a bite of the second half and found a long blonde hair. So disappointed and grossed out. Sorry but I have to give this a no go. Better Buzz is a fan fav-- their coffee is full of flavor with one of my favorites being the best drink ever. The atmosphere and aesthetic is top notch and super unique to the brand. The quality of the coffee and matcha isn't lacking and is always fun to drop in for a drink with the friends. Always a recommend when in the San Diego or surrounding areas with there continued expansion. The employees are always the nicest and provide great service and with opportunity to order ahead of time through the app or website. A perfect pair: their Hazelnut Divinity latté and Pistacchio Croissant. Enjoyed the view from the bar seating indoors and moved to the courtyard when the sun came out. The time spent there was limited to two hours (for those who choose to work at a café) because of the parking time limit but the parking is free and so is the wi-fi. I had not been in this corner of Del Mar for a while and decided to go to one of my favorite and coziest Starbucks to realize now is gone and instead the bright yellow color of Buzz is in place. The outside looks very spacious and inviting...until you get inside and realize is another 'laptop-camping' situation. Why? I ask myself this is now the trend in most coffee shops in SD area. Since the business owner reads and replies these reviews here is my feedback: the girl at the cash register was not welcoming at all. She was annoyed or overwhelmed but I didnt like the vibe. My cappuccino was burnt and was tempted to go and complaibt but it was noisy and full of laptop campers. The coffee actually tastes like dirty water. Ok, that might be just a bad day...but for me the problem is to go to a coffee shop and find people in conversations that belong inside corporations. My antenna is always on I like it or not. It is so refined I can hear all the convos and there were people literally running job meetings there. Also, the library is at the corner in the same street. Please do not convert this coffee shop into a mini branch of Del Mar library nor into a free coworking space. Unless that is what you want, then please advertise the coffee shop as such. It is very unpleasant going with someone on a coffee date and not being able to sit inside because entitled customers are enabled to occupy a table for 2 but just for one. I was tempted to sit at one of the 'working tables' (I mean all were) just to mess with the person drinking water and occupying space. If you want to listen and still want to be subservient to this nonsense trend...please set a half an hour limit for people to circulate and avoid the perennial campers. Or do like the French coffee shop next to you: buy and bye and next. No one set their tent there. read more

I stopped in for the first time yesterday and this coffee shop is so pretty The staff were helpful and friendly. The interior has classic Del Mar architectural elements with modern furnishings. Some seating indoors but lots of seating outside as well. I love how I can do a bit of work/study here and then just walk down to the beach after. Better Buzz in Del Mar is one of my favorite spots. It's right by the beach, which makes it ideal for a quick stop before or after a walk along the coast. The location couldn't be better. Great vibes, great views, and even better drinks. The service is always fast and friendly. The staff is welcoming and they really keep things moving, even during the busy hours. You can tell they care about both the quality and the customer experience. My go-to order is the matcha latte with coconut milk. It's seriously the best matcha around. The cafe is perfectly set in a small area with boutiques, and I love the indoor and outdoor options for seating. The staff were very friendly, each time I've come by. This location has been my go to for years to grab a coffee before heading to the beach. I was really waiting for the transition from Starbucks to Better Buzz. I was also looking for the remodeling which they did pretty well and lightened the room. My order is really simple: a regular cappuccino, no artificial flavors, no sweeteners, no ice, just coffee and whole milk. Unfortunately, it was not drinkable and I had to throw it away. There was no foam (the main part of the cappuccino), it was way too hot, tasted like a cheap americano coffee from a fast food mixed with milk, the thin black cup cover was really plasticky (yeah, not all plastics are created equal, the Starbucks or Birdrock coffee ones are higher quality) and gave it a bad taste... Really disappointed. I would like to give it a 2nd chance because it may have been a fluke from early days of opening but when the coffee cup is $5.50 and ends up in the trash, you think about it twice. For a coffee place, getting the classics (americano, espresso, cappuccino, latte) done right should is priority #1. But that is just my 2 cents. read more

I went there out of curiosity. I used to go there all the time when Starbucks was on this location. I tried the 3-seed avocado toast and the Mexican mocha. Food was tasty and the mocha was great! but prices are a bit too high for what I really want to pay for that kind of food. I was a bit disappointed about the loud music and the staff having to yell your name because of it. The place inside looks tiny and not very welcoming, I couldn't stand the loud music and left as soon as I got my food. I am not sure if I will go back, there are so many coffee places in Del Mar to choose with equal quality of food and less expensive too. read more
