Good communication, reasonable prices, punctual arrival, good and humble crew, fast service with detailed communication on each aspect.

My parents are having issues with their garage door and noticed that I never updated my review but three years ago had to replace our garage door (I inadvertantly backed into our old one :)). We went with Better Built and it has been seamless now three years later, install was fantastic,.. they were extremely responsive and they were very competitive. It still looks today like we just had installed it yesterday despite it being three years ago. This simple update has greatly improved our curb appeal! read more

Better Built Door - Newly installed garage door - Garage Door Services Near Me - Kirkland, Washington

Called Jesse in the afternoon and in a couple of hours, his guys came and fixed the broken garage door spring all in about 20 minutes. I sent him the picture of what the issue was after which he called back and give me a fair estimate. He came highly recommended from a friend, and I have been super impressed by the professionalism of his company. Highly recommend this business. read more

I was looking for someone to fix the mess left behind by the guys who originally installed my new garage doors. Jesse came highly recommended by a friend so I reached out to him. He sent someone the next day to take a look at the damage and give me options for fixes. I chose the option they felt was my best bet. Jesse got back to me very quickly with a bid, then came out to look at the situation firsthand. Parts were ordered; work was done quickly and efficiently. His prices are incredibly fair. I would recommend Better Built Door to anyone needing garage doors or repairs. read more

These guys are the original installers for our garage door opener when we bought the house 2001. I can't begin to tell you how good they are. My dad is constantly going in and out our garage, needless to say no opener has lasted more than 6-7 years. They've installed 3 of our openers and came out to rescue us another time when the spring broke. This last trip they came out the week i called and installed a new opener for us in about an hour. The tech even remember us from the last time prob 7 yrs ago. (Our garage is kinda odd, so it's easy to remember.) the fact that they have employees that's been with them that long should tell you something. Their price is fair, service is TOP NOTCH! I've used them for over 20 yrs and I REFUSE to use anyone else. Give them a call for your all garage needs, they will take care of you. read more

12 years later, new (to us) house, and the garage door springs break. These guys are still great. I called them up yesterday, they showed up today within the stated time window. Took them 20 minutes to replace the torsion springs, and paid a very reasonable amount of money. I would recommend them without hesitation for any garage door work. read more

My garage door stopped working so I called up these guy and they came same day to look at the problem. They managed to fix it and didn't charge me, but recommended I replace the opener soon as the motor didn't seem to have a lot of life left in it. They gave me ballpark estimates for different options and let me sit with it for a few days with no obligation. I appreciated their honesty and that they didn't try any hard sell tactics, so I called them back to arrange to install the replacement. Their work was thorough and they were very friendly and efficient. read more

Our garage door had issues in the past few years and we've called them three times to help us fix the issues. The owner is responsive and charged us reasonably - sometimes even at no cost! They're busy but very responsive. Def recommend them! read more

Professional, punctual, transparent with pricing, very reasonable pricing for their service. Highly recommend them!

They did a nice job at a reasonable price! No complaints whatsoever. Would definitely recommend.

Jesse was already highly recommended by my colleagues when he installed our garage door 13 years ago. The cable popped out a few weeks ago. We tried to fix it ourselves, and it just got worse. So glad we kept Jesse's contact info. He came out the very next day and fixed the problem with the same efficiency, high quality, and very reasonable price just as he did years ago. read more

Our home is compete! After beating around the bush with getting the garage door fixed, we finally ran out of excuses to repair the darn thing. After purchasing a new car we promised ourselves that getting the garage door repaired must be a top priority. That means no more buying mega million tickets, instead... collecting referrals, quotes and setting up an appointment. Thanks to my fellow yelpers, Better Built Doors caught my attention. After reading reviews, receiving our quote & setting up the appointment, we were very hesitant on how our service and the quality of the workmanship was going to turn out. Jessie, the owner and handy man, was a 1 man army kind of guy. He came to install a new set of doors for our two-car garage. And by 1 man army, I mean, him uninstalling our previous doors (possibly built in the late 80's), replacing the railings, and installing the new doors along with the new garage door opener in less than three and a half hours, all by him self! Excellent service and the highest quality of skillfulness when it came to the finishing product. By the way, our quote was lower than the big chain stores we received from and the service, immaculate. Thanks Better Built Doors!! read more

My first review. A year after installation, we had a power outage and one of the garage door systems that was supposed to have a backup battery did not work. This was included in the cost of the liftmaster system that was set up. The owner of Better Built Doors told me to check whether the battery was plugged in, and we found there was no battery set up. Instead of apologizing, or agreeing to send me a battery, he decided to use curse words, accusing me of removing the battery -- when I didn't even know here it was. I realize this might be a hard year for his business, but he could just apologize and speak up his situation. The way he behaved, I wouldn't recommend this to any costumer. I am willing to pay more for better, reliable, respectful service. read more

Jesse and his team were great right from the start. They provided same day service at a great price to repair the vinyl stripping that was damaged on the side of our garage door. Friendly, professional, even lubricated my garage door hinges when I said it seemed that opening and closing the garage door was getting noisier. Would definitely recommend Better Built Door for any and all garage door service needs! read more

I'm very cautious about negative reviews. The owner of this place has a very bad attitude. My door was replaced last year in the summer, and it's now bent and can't be closed / opened fully under completely normal use. I gave them a call this morning and the owner sounded pissed over the phone without fully understanding the situation, saying the earliest they can do is end of next week, and if there's no issue with the spring they'll charge for it. I gave them a second call and confirmed if they really couldn't schedule it earlier, and I hanged up a little bit earlier because I wish to call another service to get things fixed earlier, then the owner called back and yelled 'don't *fxxking* hang up on me'. It's very bad customer service plus the garage door they installed isn't of good quality. Avoid at all cost! read more

I had the spring of our garage door broken, called this company as they fixed it years ago. Jesse picked up the call and said he can come the next day. He called me about 30 minutes before arriving, came on time, did a quick look and started to fix it with his crew, Ricardo. They mentioned that if the spring is under 5-year old, it's still covered under warranty. They really know what they're doing, went above and beyond. They lubricated moving parts, ensured that the door operate smoothly. I would use their service again if/when needed. We're happy with the services provided. read more

We've used Better Built Doors twice and have had outstanding experiences both times. A few years ago, we had a problem with our garage door not opening and closing properly. Jesse came out the next day and fixed our door in 10 minutes. And he didn't charge us a penny! Last week, the springs on your garage door broke on a Sunday morning. So we called another company, who came out and replaced the springs. But now the door was bowing when we tried to close it. They told us that the door was damaged and needed to be replaced. A new door was going to cost us around $2000! So the next day, Jesse came out and told us that the door didn't need to be replaced. He told us that the springs the other company used were too strong and that we should ask them to come back and put different springs in. And again he charged us nothing! I called the other company but they insisted they'd used the right springs and the only solution was to buy a new door. So we asked Jesse to replace to replace the *new* springs the other company had installed. He came out the next day, installed new smaller springs and also re-enforced our door. And it's working perfectly! He also gave us a 5 year warranty. And we DON'T need to buy a new door! This is the ONLY company I trust to work on our garage door. And it's the only company that I would recommend. Thank you Jesse! read more

10 years ago I hired a reputable garage door company to replace my door on Capitol Hill. They did a great job at the time. So when it came to replace the door at our new, I called the same company for a quote. They came right out and quoted me and were, again, great with the customer service. Based on Yelp! reviews I decided to get a second quote from Better Built Door. I am so glad I did! I received the same stellar service as their competitor, but the end quote for the exact same product and installation was about $850 less. My job came in within budget and the whole process of getting a quote, ordering the door and installation was exceptional. Thank you BBD for the great service and installation ... and for saving me a boatload of cash! read more

Better Built Door - Before (L); after (R) - Garage Door Services Near Me - Kirkland, Washington

I ordered two garage doors and openers including installation. The owner came out to my house to talk about door styles and openers and gave excellent advice as I debated what to get. The install was completed a couple of weeks later because they buy ahead and have doors in stock as long as you're not looking for add-ones like frosted glass. In fact, when I asked about frosted glass, he discouraged it based on timing and price AND told me how to do it myself for $5. The install went well. The only thing I didn't like was the lighting, and the owner came out to fix it at no charge. He checked everything out while he was there. Really had a great experience. read more

We had used Better Built Door several times in the past and had been happy with their service, but recently my husband had scheduled them for some work and they no-showed on us. No followup call or anything. I guess I won't be recommending you anymore. read more

They replaced my garage door about 9 months ago which failed a few days ago. The wire was completely tangled, and a few rollers were out of their rails. I called Better Built Door repeatedly but no one answered. Finally I chose another company to urgently fix the issue as the door was not closing anymore (and we had lot of valuable stuff in our garage). The person who was fixing the door showed me many issues with the previous installation: rollers on the right, and the left did not match in configuration. Lot of bolts were misplaced and did not match the configuration on the corresponding side. Rails were definitely not straight and level, and to compensate that apparently Better Built Door had tightened each roller differently. Overall I am convinced that the job quality was very poor, and chose another company for fixing it. What I liked last year was the fact that they were very responsive, and scheduled an earlier installation date, which did not last long due to the poor installation... read more

We have used this company for our garage doors for over twenty years. I have always been extremely happy with their service. They replaced our garage door opener when we first moved in and most recently the garage door and opener. read more

The guy who runs Better Built Door came over and looked at our busted opener. He said the manufacturer doesn't make or sell the part that broke anymore - so I'd be looking at a new install. But then he said, "You know I probably have that part sitting in my spare parts bin." So he didn't charge me for the visit. That night he dug around, found it, and called me the next day. He came out, fixed it, tuned up the other doors, and didn't even charge me for parts - just the initial site visit. So how cool is that? And while fixing everything he told us some great stories about life in the northwest, how he got his commercial pilot license, and so on. Great work, excellent prices, and entertainment - could you ask for more? read more

They came back out shortly after I wrote my review. My door is fixed. I'm happy with the result. Thank you guys for resolving my issue...

On a Sunday afternoon I heard a crash sound coming from the garage. Nothing was visibly wrong, but the garage door wouldn't open/close after that. We researched a few companies online (and on Yelp) and found A Better Built Door. With so many five star reviews, we called BBD first thing Monday morning and are glad we did! He came out by 10am the same morning with the parts needed to fix the door. 45 minutes later, like new!! And a fair price, which was the exact price quoted over the phone. And such a nice guy too! Can't ask for better customer service! For any door repair, call this company. You will be glad you did!!! read more

This is the third repair that Jesse has done for us. He is always friendly, and provides an estimate before any work is done. There are never any surprises and the service always exceeds our expectations. read more

Made an appointment for an estimate on two new doors. Jessie gave me a window of two hours for the appointment. He never showed. I drove down q.5 hours from my home in Anacortes to meet him at my Seattle property, waited the two hours, drove back 1.5 hours fuming at the waste of most of a day because this clown can't keep an appoinment. Called several times for an explanation, he won't even return the calls. Rude, inconsiderate and frustrating. Don't bother with this guy, there are plenty of good garage door outfits in town who will actually do what they say they will do. read more

This is a wonderful Garage door repair / replacement shop. I had some pannels replaced recently and the staff was very friendly to work with. They worked with my schedule and provided a reasonable price. When a small problem came up after the initial service, they were quick to return to correct the minor issue and were nothing but professional, friendly and efficient at all times. I highly recommend this company for any garage door repairs/ services you may need. read more

We used Better Built Door to replace a 1980's Genie. It had to be the oldest, loudest, crappiest garage door opener in the whole world! He came out when he said he would. Installed what we had talked about over the phone. Charged me what he had quoted me over the phone. Even showed me the right kind of lubricant to get for the door and how to use it and all of the functions of the opener. Very professional, knowledgeable, and fast! We are VERY happy with our new, quiet door opener! read more

Just called for a problem I thought I was having with my door. The door is solid wood and when disconnected from the trolley it would creep down. I thought I would need a service call and possibly replacement of tension springs. Jesse explained after patiently listening, that it was more than likely a condition of the winter weather being more damp then the springs being worn out. I thought this was a completely honest way to do business and greatly appreciated. If there is a problem in the future I will not hesitate to call what I found to be a very honest and helpful company. read more

Broke a cable on one of our doors. SInce the springs were probably original from 1980, we had springs replaced on both doors and the new cable. Assumed we'd need all new cables, but he said the others didn't need replacing and he wasn't going to replace them just to replace them, if they didn't need it done. While checking the functioning, he grabbed a few nuts to replace the missing ones, lubed everything up, made a few adjustments, and off he went. read more

Just had Better Built Door come out and replace a broken spring on my garage door. When I called they asked a few simple questions about the problem, door type and size (single vs double car door). They were able to give me a quote for the repair . They came as scheduled during the two hour time window, were professional and got my spring replaced in short order at the quoted price. Could not ask for better service!!! If I have any garage door repair needs in the future I know who to call. Thank you!! read more

It's rare to find a professional who has such a full range of job skill and knowledge as Jessie does. I ended up breaking my garage door by shutting it on a bike and then faced the wrath of my wife. The pressure was on to get it fixed and sorted out and Jessie came by the day I called him, instantly knew what he was working with, how to fix it, where the parts were going to come from and how long it would take. Within about 2 minutes I knew I was dealing with someone who was familiar with every aspect of his business. After the door was ordered and the install was ready to take place, he came by, pulled the old door and fitted the new one inside of an hour with zero hesitation, further demonstrating how comprehensive his knowledge of the work is and how efficient his process is. And he didn't screw me on price at all and is also a nice guy to boot. If you have garage door woes, this is your guy, no question. And to my credit, my garage door was installed incorrectly from the get go so it turned out that I wasn't that much to blame. Jessie also reinstalled my garage door opener correctly. Hell of a company, hell of a guy and a great experience. read more

Jesse installed a new R12 door with insulated glass, jackshaft opener, and a high lift kit. I'm thrilled. Everything is working flawlessly! He arrived on time and answered several phone calls;I had a bunch of questions prior to signing on. His bid was +- $20 of other companies. I signed with Jesse because he seemed to love answering my questions and was extremely helpful. I have a Costco membership and did NOT sign with them, way too expensive. read more

We had a little accident with a car door and the garage door. I called around and Better Built Door could schedule us the soonest for the repair. They also had the lowest service call charge, bonus! They showed up on time (early actually) and though there was a problem with the needed part, they returned and fixed it in no time the same day. Friendly, fast and reasonably priced. FYI: they only accept cash or check for payment at this time. Not a problem for me, but good to know. read more

Jesse is the best. Yes, his prices for work are very competitive, which may be one reason to talk to him first. But there are even better reasons: he comes in with his crew, does the work without needing to be watched, and all with a great sense of humor and good spirit. And they cleaned up very well on finishing. As I said to Jesse, "I enjoyed having you here so much, I am almost sad that I may not see you again for years." read more

This guy is good. Called him a year ago to replace an old opener and he did so quickly at a competitive price. Then again when a spring broke on the other door more recently. Won't hesitate to call him again and recommend him to anyone else that needs garage door work. read more

Oh wow, these guys are really standup folks and very professional in their trade. I called them up to see if I can get an estimate on my malfunctioning garage. The man on the phone (I later learned it was Jesse) took his time for me diagnosing the problem and instructed me a quick temporary fix over the phone. Saved me a bunch of money there. About a year later, the same wiring problem propped up and this time I asked Jesse for a permanent repair. He came out here the next day, on time (actually I was the one late for the appointment time...), and fixed the wiring problem. The kicker is, he didn't charge me the entire fee because he thought it was relatively a minor work (for him)! It's definitely apparent that Jesse takes great pride in his trade. read more
