This is hands down the best service I've ever received !!! I had Better Air NW clean my air duct and dryer vent last week, and I am extremely impressed with the service that Jason and his colleague provided me. They spent 4 hours cleaning every heat register in my house. They took their shoes off before entering my house, even though I didn't request them. When they carried equipment around the house, they did so carefully not to damage the walls and furniture. After finishing the work, they even vacuumed the area around each register, which I don't think many other companies do. Jason then explained to me what he found in the air duct, and taught me some good routine maintenance tips. But the excellent service doesn't stop there. Yesterday I discovered that my dryer was not working well. So I called Better Air NW today. Jason came to my house on the same day, and after inspecting the dryer, he climbed to the top of my roof to unclog the outside end of the dryer vent, which fixed the problem. He explained to me what he did was against his company's policy, but he did it anyway to make me happy. And guess what, he didn't charge me a penny for today's 2 hours of work. I can't believe it. It touched me and also made me feel guilty at the same time. I offered him a gift card, but he refused. All in all, I'm glad that I chose Better Air NW. They get high marks for a reason and it's because they do good work and respect your home while they do it. We recently purchased a 3800 sq. ft. place. Cost us about $655 and took 4 hours for them to complete. According to the guys it should last us 5-7 years considering we have no animals or children. As long as we check our filters every 3 months and change them out every 4, we should be good to go. They were patient and took the time to explain their work and what we as homeowners can do. It's somewhat of a loud process for people who work out of the home. read more

Justin came and checked our A/C and everything to be working fine. But then a small problem popped up. They went way out of way to find someone to come out at 8:30 in the evening to fix it. Though they couldn't get anyone out at that time Justin came out first thing in the morning to fix it - and then helped us with a start capacitor to make the A/C run quieter. These guys are as good as advertised! I found them based on 5 star yelp rating and they did an excellent job. I almost went with someone else out of a local coupon book that offered a free filter cleaning, or some other bogus service, but my wife asked me to check them out online first. Good thing I did because the other guys had a terrible rating and I found Better Air NW instead. Not much else to say since they do exactly what you want them to, which is to clean out all the ducts in your home, and they do it for the fairest price (without bogus up-sells). read more

Update - so the owner remembered me and called me up today (a little off but okay) he wanted to refund me for the additional cost of the second cleaning. He apologized and let me know they would be modifying their process to make sure that Oil Furnaces are properly addressed. Professional in my book. Really nice guys and they did a good job minus one big detail.. They don't clean the flue of your furnace or the blower motor or vent of your furnace if you have oil heat. This is a necessity because it affects the efficiency of the oil furnace if you don't. This was never communicated during the initial walk through so when I noticed it after the fact they tell me sorry we don't do that. It cost me about 50% more because I had to hire a separate company just for that part when that separate company charges for the whole cleaning only like $25 more to do everything I needed. Again, nice but not thorough and didn't even mention the flue, which I was unhappy about. read more

I've never had my heating ducts cleaned before, so this was a first. We bought an old house with a funky smell, and wanted to start living there with everything as clean as possible. The two guys who came to my house were quiet, clean, and professional. They worked diligently for several hours, showed me exactly what they were doing beforehand, explained every procedure, and cleaned up after themselves. They even showed me everything they'd removed from the ducts (nails, pieces of wood, a plastic cup lid, lots of dirt). He was able to set me up that week. They made a courtesy call the night before. When the technician, Shawn, was running late due to a major accident on the freeway, he called to let us know. When he arrived he explained to me what he was going to do, and he did his work for about 3.5 hrs. He was so polite, courteous, and efficient. Once done, he cleaned up after himself, showed me all the nasty things he removed from the system. We needed our furnace serviced and ducts cleaned. I called 2 separate companies to do both jobs. Company A - I felt I was rushed on the phone when scheduling my furnace service cleaning but went with them anyway. We called Company B to get a free estimate for duct cleaning and they were WAY over what we expected. Needless to say I cancelled our appointment with Company A and decided to do more research for both tasks. I searched on Yelp to find Better Air NW - to be pleasantly surprised. Justin the owner answered my call, told me his team only works M-F since they have families too and was extremely personable and gave me a total cost over the phone. The best part is that they could do both (furnace cleaning and duct cleaning). Alan and Robert serviced our furnace and cleaned our ducts in the time we were quoted and the bill was exactly what Justin told me over the phone. Here's a quick review for now. The lady I spoke with was very courteous and helpful. She mentioned that the people doing the work are more knowledgeable than her instead of giving me an inaccurate answer. Two people that showed up were extremely nice and courteous. The main guy had done this for several years and was highly knowledgeable. They did a thorough job and went above and beyond by cutting through a duct since it needed to be cleaned and they couldn't reach all the way through and patched it up later. In addition, he told us about everything that they found. They even went into the crawl space and cleaned up ducts there. In addition, he took care of a dead rodent which had resulted in a terrible odor and left us heater-less for 2 weeks. He also sealed the entry point of the rodent, either of which he could have easily refused to do. They also identified a problem with our dryer vent and recommended a company to take care of the problem...although I ended up using our trusted handyman for it. The price was on the expensive side, but the results were worth it. The air is definitely cleaner. I highly recommend Better Air NW. read more

They cleaned out the usual debris (dust & pet hair), but they also found lots of construction debris from when the house had been built 25 years ago! Worth the money. There are a lot of outfits out there who promise to clean your ducts for cheap. You'll often see them advertising on Groupon and other deal sites. They don't use the same quality of equipment and they don't provide the same service this company does. In addition to being extremely nice, professional, and reliable, these guys cleaned every inch of duct work and our blower thoroughly. They even went into our crawlspace -- which isn't too hard to access but wasn't a requirement -- and they accessed the main box, which was full of debris. Not sure if our ducts had *ever* been cleaned but they are as immaculate as ducts can be now. We'll all be breathing better for it and it was worth the $500. read more

We bought an older house last year, that had a kind of unusual remodel. They had opened up the garage space so that it became a kind of "loft" area fully open to the house's original living room. My wife and I both work there quite a bit every day at our respective computer desks. Unfortunately, there was no vent to supply warm air or any return to circulate the air, so it stayed kind of dead and cold in the winter. The furnace was 20 years old as well and could use replacement, so I decided to have somebody see if they could fix up what I had in mind. I first contacted a long-time and respected Seattle HVAC place, who without even seeing the place essentially told me they wouldn't even consider putting in new duct work! I wasn't asking for perfect heating, but I'm no dummy either, have lived in the house a year now, and knew the solution I had in mind was worth trying. I saw the great reviews for Better Air NW, but it seemed like most were for duct cleaning and that they might not be able to do duct work along with the furnace replacement. I called though, and was pleasantly surprised when Ken Norton came out, looked at what I wanted, and said no problem! We talked about what would be needed, and he sent me a proposal/quote within a couple days. We both said yes to the deal, and a week later Ken himself and another Better Air NW tech came out right on time, then set to work non-stop a full 11 hours until our furnace was replaced with a new 2-stage high-efficiency model, AND we had a new heat vent and air return installed in our garage/loft area. They were friendly and professional all the way, and careful taking care of the house and to explain all the new features of the furnace and thermostat. And I paid exactly what was quoted to me in the proposal, which I found to be a fair price for all we got. I am so impressed with Better Air Northwest. Justin, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and will go to great lengths to insure customer satisfaction. I had some very minor concerns, after having the air duct service done. For example, one of my registers was replaced incorrectly. I called and left a message, and my phone call was returned within just a couple of hours! Both Justin and his general manager promptly came to my house to address my issues. I know it sounds funny to give them a 5 star review, having had minor concerns, but the fact that they were willing to address my concerns so expeditiously pushes them into the 5 star category for me. Again, I can't stress how minor my concerns were. They by no means had to view my concerns as urgent, but they did. This is a company with a sense of urgency to do right by the customer, and that's hard to find now days. The moral of the story is you get what you pay for. Better Air NW may not be the least expensive choice, but they are the most thorough, have the best customer service and there are no hidden costs. I booked an appointment with Better Air NW through their website and received off-season pricing along with a discount for adding the dryer vent cleaning. Codie and Scott arrived a little early and were ready to go. They both were very respectful of our home and did their best to stay out if the way and keep us informed with what they were doing throughout the entire process. They pulled all sorts of construction debris from our system, from a light switch to large pieces of wood. They completed all their work very near to the quoted amount of time. Jill Brunsch sent me a follow-up email asking for feedback so I let her know they accidentally took our magnetic vent covers with them when they left. I asked if they could be dropped off next time they were in the area. Instead, Jill had brand new ones ordered from Amazon and delivered to our home. That's great customer service! My fiancee and I just moved into our new home and instantly began to feel the effects of the previous owner's two large dogs. We sneezed every time we turned the heat on and decided to have the vents cleaned. Ever wary of duct cleaning scams, I did a little Yelp research and found Better Air NW. They booked an appointment for two days later, arrived on time TO THE MINUTE (who does that??) and were extremely courteous as I was working from home that day and finishing up a meeting when they got there. They spent about 3 hours cleaning our ducts (we don't have too many of them) and did a very thorough job. I couldn't tell they'd had to move anything, as everything was put back in its place afterward. I also noticed that they took their shoes off every time they entered the house and were very polite in asking me questions (location of the furnace, location of ducts, etc). While moving equipment, they came and asked if they could walk on one mulched area of the yard, wanting to make sure I didn't have anything planted there. Seriously above and beyond-- these guys operate with integrity. They even found a cool old WWII matchbook cover in one of the vents and gave it to me! Would you rather pay $49 for some scammy company in an unmarked van to show up and use fear tactics to get you to spend more, or invest in a high-quality, local expert who gives an honest estimate to come service your home and then charge you the exact amount of the estimate? I met Justin a while back and was racking my brain for what I knew about vents to make small talk. I said "I heard lots of fires start in dryer vents." He said "that's why we offer a free dryer vent cleaning." We'd bought our house as new construction 10 years ago and hadn't had the vents looked at, so I took him up on it. Got his card, called the next day and scheduled the service. His guy showed up promptly, was very courteous, and the service was performed quickly. Professional operation up and down the line. We're going to have them out next month to get the rest of the house before the weather gets cold. Probably save enough on the heating bill this winter to pay for the service. read more

During their service they kept telling me how much needed to be done, and explaining how much they were cleaning. However, today when my service was performed by Better Air NW it was discovered that next to no cleaning could have been done that day. They found drywall dust and actual pieces of drywall, roofing hardware, and ceiling texture spray all from when the house was built 9 years ago. I was looking for a new furnace cleaning company which could also service my gas fireplace insert, plus I wanted a duct cleaning (in my quest to purge all traces of the previous owners from my home!). Better Air NW fit the bill and had great reviews to boot. Scheduling was easy, office staff and communication are on point, and I really appreciate that they text and email the full name of the technician before their arrival. The furnace and fireplace cleaning were one day, the ducts a week later, and both went smoothly. The only blemish was when the second technician started a little lecture about how my furnace filter was in wrong and how to understand the printed arrows -- that is how he, and I, learned that the first tech had put the filter in wrong. Hopefully that was a simple oversight and not indicative of a general carelessness. Still, I was happy enough with everything else that I will try this company again. read more

I've used a big local company in previous years and have been surprised by the long wait times - I've called at the beginning of September to schedule routine furnace maintenance and have been told I can't get an appointment until late October/November. My husband and I bought an older home and could tell the air ducts were pretty dirty just based on what we could see looking into the grates. Better Air NW had a price similar (or slightly lower during the off-season special) to other companies, and an easy online scheduling system. They arrived early after calling to confirm ahead of time that an early start worked with my schedule. They spent a solid 4 hours cleaning because as suspected the ducts had a lot of debris to be removed. Some of our grates were painted over several times so couldn't be removed, but they proposed a solution of cutting into the vents in the unfinished basement and sealing up the openings when they were done in order to fully clean out all the ducts. The sealed openings look good and I'm glad they were able to access all parts of the ducts. In 5 years when we have the ducts cleaned again Better Air NW will be able to more easily access the openings they already created. Highly recommend. read more

I was very lucky to find this air duct cleaning company.I just bought the new house and the seller told me that she didn't clean the air system for 40 years! I scheduled the service online and the price range for different services is very clear. They showed up ontime. The big machines in their vans were very impressive and they worked amazingly. The crew was very professional and friendly. They ansewed all my quesitons and pointed the potential problem inside the panel so I can provent possible future breakdowns.
