A word I would use to describe this bakery is: MEH. I say "Meh" and give this bakery 3 stars because they do some things well, like the almond horns and breads. But for the other pastries, not so much. They all look great but have a strange taste, which I confirmed was margarine. I keep trying this bakery because it is my local bakery. Unfortunately, I keep getting let down (except for the bread! If you want a fresh loaf of Italian bread I would go here!). read more

I needed to get a chocolate buttercream cake last minute for a friend's birthday. Chocolate buttercream is her absolute favorite. I'm Not from the area so I just looked up a bakery on yelp. Walked in and everything looked absolutely delicious - the towering plates of Italian cookies, the cupcakes, etc. The woman behind the counter was super helpful when I described what my friend really liked, she pointed me in the direction of the chocolate cake. She quickly iced a very nice HBD message on top and I was on my way. Very reasonably priced. When my friends and I had the cake later that night, everyone remarked It was one of the best chocolate buttercream cakes they'd ever had. And my birthday girl friend, who lives in the area, will now be going back there often. read more

Such a great small town, mom and pop bakery! Been coming here for over a year and have never been disappointed. Whether it's pumpkin pie for thanksgiving, a birthday cake, cookies, or rolls and danishes for breakfast everything is always delicious. During the holidays you can always order your pies or dessers ahead of time and are never disappointed. They also have pretty decent coffee. read more

I love this bakery I have been going there since they opened on Broadway in massapequa actually since they had a store in Elmont. It is always delicious. Bestever Bakery!!!!. My family has been looking for an old school bakery for the past few years after the matriarch of my wifes family, her mom, passed away. Palm Sunday and Easter are the Food Super Bowl for this Italian family and we missed the old world baking. Well fear no more !!! We were recommended Bestever by a friend and will never go anywhere else again Where do I start ?? The cannolis fresh and packed with delicious cream with a hint of chips. After our "local" bakery wore out it's welcome with higher prices and lesser quality, we were on the hunt for a cookie/cake/baked goods fix. Bestever filled that need! We've tried pastries for a Sunday breakfast, cookies for deserts/snacks and their bread... yum... the bread! Meatballs and ravioli have a new friend on my plate. The folks there couldn't be friendlier. It's a slightly longer drive... but well worth it! read more

This bakery used to be good but now, it is basically horrible. There's a new line in there, "Vin's Bake House" and for the most part it has to be the worst baked goods I have ever had. Seriously. My daughter went in there for a Irish soda bread for St Patrick's Day and when we all took a slice, we had to, no joke, spit it out. The rest of the bread took a deep six, too. Almost $6 for this bread that was so dry, had 2 raisins in it, and tasted like lemon....? Never again. read more

What a lovely hometown bakery! A nice family run business with delicious baked goods. They use the raspberry jelly in their jelly donuts which is a rarity these days; IMO it makes all the difference between a average jelly donut you can get at Dunkin' Donuts or a real bakery donut. They were delicious! Don't be fooled by the small size, they have plenty of stuff in the back so be sure to ask for what you want. My husband wanted some old fashioned crumb buns but didn't see and mentioned it and the nice lady went in the back and came out with some fresh baked buns. She told us that they have lots of options in the back. We will be back to try some other delicious delights from Bestever bakery. read more

Well, the name pretty much says it all. And yes, it is one of the "BEST EVER" bakeries I have ever tried. I MUST admit, I got a special care package of assorted cookies delivered, (I don't know if they typically deliver or not, BUT) I'll have to add a 6th star just for that. My wife an I needed several cakes and pastries to take to a friend's home. We were helped quickly and courteously by the young lady behind the counter. Since we had missed lunch, we also bought several pastries to eat on the way. What a delight! The St. Joseph Cake was rich, creamy and delicious. The napoleon was tall, with an incredible pastry cream between crisp layers, and a perfect layer of icing. I've been eating Napoleons for over 50 years and this was just about the best I've ever tasted. The red velvet cake was fresh and intensely chocolatey and the Eclairs were a treat, full of cream and a generous layer of thick chocolate frosting on top. I will be back in two months and will definitely make a point of visiting this exceptionally fine bakery. Once upon a time there was a wonderful bakery in Valley Stream named "EverBest". It was named that because they were that. They were truly THE BEST BAKERY. My favorite cake was their Chocolate Fudge cake with Chocolate Fudge frosting. It was out of this world delicious and moist and sugary just the way a Chocolate Fudge cake should be. But they closed and I have been on the search for its duplication for well over 10+ years now. I even went to the one that was in Northport. It was delicious and it tasted just like I remembered but over the few years it was opened, it began to go downhill and it too has since closed. I've been told for years that BestEver bakery in Massapequa was owned by the same people as EverBest but for years I would just drive right passed it because I didn't want to be disappointed again. But I gave in because I'm feeling nostalgic and just wanted to taste something that good again. I called and the woman who took my call assured me that her Dad (the owner/baker) used to work with the owner of/and at EverBest! I was SOOOOO excited to try it. I hopped in my car and drove 40 minutes there and back! First, the staff was very friendly. As I walked in the smell took me back in time (it smelled delicious) and I saw the cake that I was searching for! It looked exactly as I last remembered. I couldn't wait to get home to try it. I gave the first slice to my husband and as I was slicing it, I knew I was going to be disappointed! It took effort to cut it which indicated to me that it wasn't going to be moist. Boy, was I right! Also I tasted the chocolate and can't even believe that they called that chocolate because it tasted more like a combination of candle wax and cardboard! My husband tasted it and right away said he would not be finishing his slice and for sure would not have seconds! We both agreed it could go straight into the garbage can and that's exactly what we did! I'm so upset to be disappointed yet again!!!!! If anyone remembers EverBest and can tell me a bakery that bakes like that bakery, please let me know because this bakery definitely ain't it! read more

I cannot believe a cake can be bad. Well I bought an over priced 8" fudge covered/filled yellow cake. Dry, overcooked cake that was heavy as lead. Girl who worked there told me it was her favorite! This cake was BAD. Filling didnt go to the edge of the cake. Fudge tasted "off." Everyone who took a piece took a couple of bites and politely left it for garbage. What a waste of $22. Very little variety of items to buy. Never again. Stop n Shop has better cakes, and that should tell you something. read more

This is the WORST ever bakery I've ever bought from in my life. Cake pop was wet green cake. Wtf was it?? I have no idea what I just put in my mouth. Cookies were dry and tasteless, the cheesecake had no sugar!! It was so sour!! The cannoli cream was gritty and tasted awful!! I spent 32 dollars and everything went in the garbage. Do yourselves a favor and close this bakery down. Disgusting! read more

I came here to buy mini cakes for my coworker's bday. The place is neat and so many goodies to choose from. I got a mini oreo cake and chocolate cake for my coworker. 6/14/2018 This bakery used to be good...NOW IT IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. The breads are awful...bought a rye bread today there and there was a thousand rye seeds in the middle....had to throw it out. DISGUSTING. Cookies and such once upon a time were pretty good...now they are stale, dry and just very disappointing. Ever since they closed the main bakery down, this place has declined rapidly. Help is terrible...unfriendly and seem annoyed when having to take your order. NEVER GOING BACK read more

Would have given no stars but couldn't. Unfortunately, since moving to Park Blvd. this bakery has gone downhill. They were wonderful on Broadway. I don't know if they have new bakers but it is awful now. I have tried several times in the past few months. Apple crumb was empty and stale tasting. Rainbow cookies were tasteless and definitely stale. Crumb buns, Friday special, for $1. half the size and vey slim on crumbs. Don't waste your $$$$$. Shop elsewhere. read more

This place never disappoints! The cheesecake and the chocolate layer cake is incredible, and everyone I share these specialties with always ask me where I get it. It's truly a great neighborhood bakery, and it's the place I hit up for any holiday or for a party when I need something to bring. Also, all the employees are so friendly. My family and I have been frequent customers at Bestever since we moved to Massapequa Park five years ago. The staff are wonderful, super friendly and helpful. My 4-year old son loves Antoinette! We've had Bestever cakes for our kids' Baptisms and birthdays, and everyone always comments on how delicious the sheet cakes are (we love the chocolate mousse filling!). Why did I have to fall in love with a bakery so far away from Westchester? I was in Long Island for the day and stopped into Bestever before heading home. The owner's daughter was working and couldn't have been nicer - or more patient - even though the shop was closing in a few minutes. The special of the day was an apple crumb cake for $5 (for the entire cake)! It was the most delicious crumb cake I've ever had - it melts in your mouth. I also picked up some crusty Italian bread and a baguette - yummy! On my way out, a tray of frosted brownies caught my eye - turns out it was "brownie Thursday" - brownies for $1! I also bought a cupcake for my son with chocolate buttercream frosting that was truly the Best Ever cupcake he's ever eaten! read more

We love Bestever Bakery. We got a chocolate fudge birthday cake there over the weekend and it was a huge hit. There is street parking and a lot behind the bakery; there's no back door though so you have to enter on Park Blvd. read more

I have enjoyed Bestever for quite some time, but today they went above and beyond showing how awesome local businesses can be. After a snafu with a picture cake, I needed one for tomorrow. The only problem was that it was 4pm on Sunday. They close at 5. Antoinette told me their picture machine was down, but where to go for the picture that they'd put on the cake. The baker had gone home for the day, but came back in to fill and decorate a cake for me. Antoinette could not have been kinder. I still cannot believe that she made phone calls for me, brought the baker back, and stayed late so that I could have the picture cake. They did a beautiful job. The whipped cream was made fresh. I'm sorry that I can't post a photo. It has a co-workers full name and picture, so I'm respecting his privacy, but trust me, it came out great. As if that wasn't enough, Antoinette packed up bread and told me to take some home. Amazing experience! Thank you so very much!! read more

We ordered our daughters first birthday cake from the mass park location. From the moment we stopped in to discuss the cake and what it would look like, everything was perfect. Antoinette helped us and she was not only attentive but so nice, as was the rest of the staff. The whole bakery is wonderful and prices are reasonable. The cake we ordered was exactly as described and expected, and not to mention soo delicious!!! I will be a returning customer for sure!!! read more

Well, upon pick up I opened the box to inspect. It all looked good but the decorating could have been a little more. I mean not to question their strengths or weakness, but it could have used a little fluff rather than just a cluster of blue roses in the in upper left corner and Happy Birthday A_____w. It was half sheet cake with lots of space to work with. Anyways, when it came time to cut the cake for service, the cake crumbled under the weight of the knife. I was overseeing the process and the cake cutter was trying his best to achieve a decent portion intact, but with litte success. I immediately tasted the cake before it went my 40 person party. It was moist and flavorful but it crumbled to the touch. I couldn't put my finger on what was causing it, I felt like something was maybe missing from the recipe. It was later in the day when it came to me the answer to my problem. The cake it self had been made fresh, then frozen, thawed out, frosted and decorated. The freezing of the cake made it crumble at time of service. Very disappointing. I didn't last minute order this cake, so why they used frozen cake for my order I cannot understand. Convenience for them I guess, but I was not informed that previously frozen cake would be an option. Each and every piece of cake just crumbled on the plate and presentation was horrible. We were stuck with an inferior cake. I will not be returning to this bakery.

This is a small and quaint bakery so it is a take out place just FYI. They have long hours usually 6:30 AM to 7pm on weekdays. ( they fully are aware of what they did) We had an unfortunate incident Monday where my sister took my mother the birthday girl to the bakery in Massapequa to chose her cake and the staff lied to my mother and gave her a strawberry banana and chocolate cake. ( barf) They Just blatantly lied about having a specific cake and we didn't find out until after the cake candles were blown out and the cake was sliced open. How disappointing. Waste of money and unethical! Would you like like to be in this position? My mother was so disappointed and upset. On top of that the cake was HORRIBLE! What a scam!
