a display case full of cakes and pastries

Always remember as a kid going to Milleridge Bakery and getting a lemon meringue pie. It was the best on the planet. I was in the area and decided to stop and see what they had too offer. The store is tiny and not much of a selection to choose from. I got an apple turnover which looked pretty good. The store was old looking and a bit rundown. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the apple turnover was yuk!! The crust was way to thick and did not taste good and the apples were not great tasting as well. I might go again but definitely would not get an apple turnover.

There isn't a thing that I've tried from this bake shop (and there are many) that isn't delicious. Bread, cookies, pies, cake.. all great.

In the past, I've also purchased milk pan bread ($5.95), sausage roll bread ($4.25), taro milk tea ($6.00). I really enjoy their baked goods and think they are better than their drinks. Their drinks are okay and I more get it for convenience. The prices are reasonable. I am looking forward to trying one of their fresh cream cakes. I wanted so much to like Francesco's. It was our first time visiting and the bakery held an old…read moreschool charm, but after trying a variety of items, a 2.5 seems most fitting. The displays were filled with a nice variety of butter cookies, cakes, doughnuts and other classic pastries. Everything "looked" good, but the taste was just average. I would have pushed it to a 3 star review, but the young man behind the counter wasn't very friendly. The store was as empty when we went in so it wasn't like he was busy trying to take orders quickly. We told the young man that we would be ordering a variety of butter cookies and he looked at us annoyed and continued to serve us with a similar attitude. I guess maybe this is the expected service from the generation nowadays? I just expected more from a place that appeared so charming. The rainbow cookies seem to have anise in it, which is a bit odd for a rainbow cookies, and the chocolate coating was not very cocoa forward. It was also lacking jam. We were also really excited about the chocolate sandwiched butter cookies, but while the cookie itself was fresh, the ganache was missing the rich chocolatey flavor. Instead, it almost tasted like carob or some sort of diluted chocolate instead. The cookies itself were also not buttery enough, though they did taste freshly baked. All in all, Francesco isn't something to write home about and it's not a place I'd visit again.

Francesco's Bakery NEVER delivered our wedding cake…read more We ordered our wedding cake from Francesco's and called two days in advance to confirm delivery. The staff assured us it would arrive early, around 11:00 a.m. However, by 1:00 p.m. on our wedding day, the cake still hadn't arrived. When we called the bakery, they told us they couldn't get in touch with the driver. It took another hour before they realized the driver never had the cake and that it had been left at the bakery the entire time. At that point, it was around 2:30 p.m. Not only was this incredibly frustrating, but it also caused unnecessary stress on our wedding day--something no couple should have to deal with. Unfortunately, we had to pick up the wedding cake ourselves. Since then, we've spent the past week trying to get in contact with someone to address what happened, with no success. I asked for the owner's phone number and left a voicemail two days ago, but still haven't received any response. Overall, this was a VERY disappointing experience. I would NOT recommend anyone to order from this bakery.

Color me not impressed at all…read more I was in Hot Breads in Hicksville in mid-July to pick up two birthday cakes for my nephew's birthday party. In addition to being a bakery, Hot Breads also markets itself as an indo-Chinese cafe. Knowing we would be several hours early to a birthday party, we had some of the menu offerings. Samosa and samosa chaat were great, but then again it's kind of hard to mess those up. Everything else we ordered was entirely inedible due to the obscene amount of chili that went into the meal. My dining buddies seemed unbothered by the chili so it's good that not a lot of the food went to waste, but some notice of spice (or option to not have the spice) would have been nice. On to the cakes, we ordered two sugar-free cakes due to my brother in law being diabetic. The cakes were light and fluffy and sweet, and I had no idea they were actually sugar free. These cakes get Hot Bread an extra star. The cakes were personalized. I would assume (and, spoiler alert, I'm clearly wrong) that an Indian bakery owner and operated by Indian people would be able to spell an Indian name correctly. Especially when my nephew's name is only two letters long and therefore easy to spell. They spelled it wrong.

They email people constantly. telling them to come to the interview and training. they have this "chef" doing demos and live demonstrations about how things are done. you waste 4 hrs there. you do what she tells you to do in the kitchen, the interviewer call everyone out one by one. you dont get called back. what is the catch? when you first arrive, they take your picture, and your social and state ID. why? for state/government funding. just like workforece 1. they book all these people, with hopes of getting a job or a training for the job, then you are booted out. Its a scam. if you mistakenly applied for anything that says; hotbread, ignore the ongoing emails. its a scam to keep getting funded. they dont care about you. its a waste of time!

Jamie a pleasant young lady, was working there. She was please to see that first review from Kimarley L. as I shared with her and it made her day. She shared information with me that Sandy is the person she works for and rents out the space for this Cupcake counter. The cupcakes are baked with the same ingredients that are used for the other baked goods at Franchescos Bakery. They do serve coffees and have a variety of cupcakes along with packs for 4. I got two beignets today, a whipcream and strawberry and a custard one. I ate into the one and found while there is a fresh strawberry on top the inside is gloppy with more like jelly strawberries inside. The whip cream is hard and not fluffy. Have not tried the other one yet. Perhaps other types will be better. Something else to note , the windows need shades or blinds. When the sun comes in everything in there gets hot . The credit card machine ( at 4% ) paper cost is very hard to see in the bright morning light. An update today, got my complementary cup cake today from many sport themed choices. I chose the baseball. I noticed and noted cupcakes in the bakery window. Jamie noted that theirs are medium-size not with filling and they a select amount of character cupcakes as well. Where's as the Get Baked ones have filling and are the large size.
