Everything that I have ever tried from this French bakery has always been fresh and delicious. We have had mostly chocolate mousse cake from here and some butter cookies. As an avid baker, and sweets connoisseur, I'm always looking to find new bakeries or home bakers that elevate what I can do myself **I'm looking at you The Egg Suite, The Crumb Picker, and Elisa's Niece's Cafe**and I was really looking forward to trying this bakery. Well let me just say that this was an atrocious experience from start to finish. I will NEVER return to this bakery. The girl helping me didn't know if the tiramisu was made with mascarpone or whipped cream or if the Napoleon had pastry cream, custard, or whipped cream. Usually you can tell by looking and that should've been my first sign that something was off. I just assumed that she was new and she was super sweet and apologetic so I forged on. I ordered an Italian cheesecake, cannoli, a single serve tiramisu, and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was soft and a little chewy and the quality of the chocolate was on point. When I opened the box that the cheesecake was in, it was filled with a viscous brown fluid that in my 5 minute drive home had actually accumulated enough to soak through the cardboard bakery box. I immediately knew that either there was too much butter in the crust, there was a water bath issue, meaning the crust was not properly sealed against the water bath or the water level was too high, OR, the cake was old and prolonged refrigeration was the culprit. I brought the cake right back and quietly showed the counter employee the issue...there were customers in the store and I was not looking to draw attention to this issue. The worker was appropriately apologetic and brought it to the back...and that's where everything quickly deteriorated. The owner came out accusing me of dropping the cake, which didn't happen and also had nothing to do with all the oozing brown goo, and then proceeded to insult and demean me in front of the other customers. He said I "obviously wasn't Italian" and therefore "didn't know anything about Italian cheesecakes." When I shared that I was actually born in Italy he quickly shifted to degrading the region my family and I are from. He then said "oh do you make cheesecake every day like we do because if you don't, you don't get to have an opinion." He went on and on while I just continued to request a refund for the defective item. To be fair and transparent, I would've probably overlooked the dripping crust if the cheesecake tasted amazing but it tasted like it had spent a few days too long in the fridge. These days spending close to $40 for a small cake is somewhat of a luxury. I appreciate all of the bakeries and home bakers who are persevering in this difficult economy and continuing to produce quality products. I absolutely understand that nothing is perfect and mistakes happen and when I'm at fault, I take responsibly and hold myself accountable. I do not yell, demean, and insult customers like this owner did. There are too many wonderful bakeries and home bakers that stand behind their goods and deserve your patronage and hard earned money. This establishment is NOT one of the them. As multiple other reviews have stated, it seems that when things are good they're good but when they are bad, this owner is rude and takes no accountability. I do wonder if he would've spoken to my husband in the same manner that he spoke to me but we'll never know because no one I know will ever step foot in this establishment again. Also, the cannoli shells were totally soggy on the bottom. A true Italian bakery would fill individually per order. read more

We had a 12" Tiramisu cake for my daughter's 30th birthday party. Everyone raved about the cake and said it was the best cake they've ever tasted. Fiorello Dolce is totally rocking with their small but high quality bakery. Line grew fast after I came in. Everything looked super delicious with nothing generic. Would take a few more trips to try more. Went with the strawberry Napoleon and almond croissant. Left a gorgeous apple pie for net visit. Cookies too .. looked super authentic with raspberry jam on thumb print cookies also an option as a swirl in the brownies. Cannoli looked a bit soft on the filling but could be good. Didn't try . Saw a few freshly baked carrot cakes and super looking cocoas dusted chocolate layer cake. This is a real bakery and a real treasure. read more

This review is extremely overdue lol. I've been a customer here for a long time. Even though I haven't been living in the area, I would try to stop here when I would visit. Now that I'm back in the area this is one of if not, the best bakeries in the area. Excellent customer service, and delicious, fresh pastries, cookies, and other items. I love the fresh cannoli, mini key lime tarts, rainbow cookies, and more. The triple chocolate chip cookies were one of my favorites but I'm not sure if they have them anymore. The shop is small but very clean and beautiful inside. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the village area. read more

This is my go-to bakery in town. I come here quite often. Their pastries are always fresh and good quality all around. They don't have a huge selection of items which is a good thing. Too much variety leads to poor quality. I've never had a bad pastry no matter what I get. They always have their usual popular items and something new so you don't get bored. The pastries and sweets at Fiorello Dolce are excellent, the kids they hire are very polite and friendly, prepared cakes and pies taste great, and are best ordered ahead for occasions! Pure pastry shops like this are hard to find anywhere outside of Europe. That said, I bought a baguette today - weekend treat! - that didn't look right. It certainly wasn't 'rustica', and *must* have been store-bought, but passed off as fresh. It was tasteless and spongy. Actually tasteless would be better than this, which left a gross taste in my mouth. Baguette means 'stick', as in rigid and crusty. Here's a pic of this $4 baguette. Looks like it needs Viagra. Fiorello is consistently the best bakery in Huntington village for Italian pastries. Highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake and rainbow cookies. That said, I was there today and very taken aback by someone working in the back who appeared to be the owner or manager. While I was there, he was continuously cursing and speaking to his teenage employees in an incredibly demeaning way. Then he came out where I was standing and started complaining about a customer who hadn't picked his order up yet, continuing to drop F bombs. Overall his language and behavior were atrocious, especially in front of a customer. I felt bad for the teenagers working there that had to deal with him. When the man said no, I asked if they take custom orders or do a simple alteration to a pre-med cake. He said "NO MEANS NO. I said no!!" I was being friendly the whole time and no reason for such a rude response. He needs major anger management at least should not be manning the phone or dealing with customers face to face. I saw Fiorello's Frenagel on FIOS1 and HAD to have one. My husband I woke up early to trek out to Huntington. We got 4 to go: 3 everything frenagels with scallion cream cheese and 1 poppy frenagel with vegetable cream cheese. They were 3.95 each not cheap but SO good. Tasted like a croissant/bagel hybrid. So flaky and crunchy. We also tried their version of a cronut. Equally as delicious. All their other pastries and desserts looked mouthwatering. I went in hoping to get some tarts, but as soon as I saw creamsicle gelato on that hot day, I had to have it. I got rung up for the gelato and a drink and didn't purchase the tarts yet so that they would still be refrigerated. The gelato was great! The iced drink was standard. I'd steer clear from their iced drinks too since it didn't seem like they had sugar water and the worker who helped me didn't even know they had iced lattes (which is what I asked for). I got back on line for the tarts but wasn't being helped. Someone who came after me got helped before me too. I was getting a little annoyed when the manager or owner (I'm assuming) came out and asked me if I wanted anything else. Why yes, I'd like my three tarts to go. The tarts were great too, but I'd think they would be better with a little more cream in it. (Note: the strawberry tarts have nuts in them.) Finally stopped in here and decided on the raspberry tart. Very good, the crust was maybe almond meal??? not to sweet but rich and crisp. The raspberries inside tasted like they were fresh berries...delightful!!! Prices are in line with other bakeries, the girl behind the counter was nice. I saw the post on Facebook recently about the Frenagels at Fiorello Dolce & knew I had to go try it! They lived up to the hype & this awesome French croissant/bagel concoction is superb. I thought the macaroons & tarts looked absolutely delicious but since I came this morning with my very pregnant friend who had her eye on the tiramisu, we also ordered that. The tiramisu was definitely not what I had hoped for & I wonder if it's because this is a French bakery & not an Italian bakery. The lady fingers were quite dry but the mascarpone cream in the center had a nice flavor & texture. The creme brule here is to die for with a velvety and not gelatinous mouth feel, the perfect amount of sweetness with a subtle hint of fresh vanilla bean... Wonderful. There's also an array of other stunning desserts, some of which I've tried but not all. Here's a few that I've sampled; Tiramisu, flour less chocolate cake (Very,very rich) Chocolate mousse, cannolis are great and they make a killer rainbow cookie! That's just a few that I can remember. The prices are not low but you are paying for quality made items that are made properly. I've never been let down by the quality of cakes and tarts that I've picked up for social events here. As for the interior the shop is very simple, clean and well put together. Although finding it can be a chore if you are not from the area. That being said, it's tucked in the corner spot across the street from Waldbaums, next to Black and Blue on Wall Street. Overall this is a fantastic high end pastry shop that does a great job with their confections, as well they serve espresso and cappuccino's, but most of the times I've gotten my things to go. I received a stunning white/dark chocolate mousse cake for my birthday this past weekend and it rocked the dinner when paired with a Taylor Fladgate 20 year old port. One could tell by how this was constructed that it took both precision and time to make this work. My hat is off to the pastry chefs who made this and as one may notice from their display case, they do it every day.
