Atmosphere: The second I stepped in, everything felt clean, bright, and neatly organized, with plenty of natural sunlight. Sweet varieties: From birthday cakes to pastries and cookies, there are so many options you won't know where to start. Breakfast & brunch: They offer a great selection of breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and a comfortable seating area on the other side of the shop. Service: I really appreciated the staff who helped me the other day. I wanted everything to fit in one box so the pastries wouldn't tip over during the car ride. I initially picked 20 pieces, but only 15 could fit. She was incredibly kind and patient, and she packed everything so carefully that it all arrived home in perfect condition. Years later and i decided to try this place again because it is now a cafe and i wanted to sit and have something with a friend. He wanted a cannoli and a cappuccino and so off we went. I got a chai latte and black & white cookie. I wanted to change my mind from the last review because the amount of people who were coming and going looked promising. Nope. My chai was hella sweet, it just tasted like sweet, no chai flavor, no tea, no spices. My black and white was similar. Tasted no vanilla and no chocolate. I was here to get a cake for a coworker and William was a very nice and helpful young man. He was a delight to work with. He actually suggested things to help me pick the right cake out. The store was very clean and everyone was smiling so early in the morning. William put the name of the person on the cake for me and it was perfect. I actually came back a few hours later to get a second cake and I ask specifically for William since he was so helpful the first time. He helped again and was fantastic. His service was excellent!!! I will fully admit, I walked in here wanting to hate because of its trendy hot chocolate. But overall it was actually quite good! Inside is very spacious and filled with treats and cakes galore; from traditional to trendy. I, of course, got the seasonal hot chocolate and for the price, it was chock full. The cup was probably 3/4 filled with hot chocolate. The rest of the space filled with whipped cream and sprinkles. The top, lovingly held a gingerbread man. The hot chocolate itself, not too thick, not too rich. But steps above and above Swiss Miss. considering its viral-ness, I was completely surprised how good the chocolate was. They could've cheaped out and didn't, and I respect that. With that being said, I was disappointed with the gingerbread cookie. For a bakery, I expected more. We used to go to another local baker to order cakes in the past but had to find a new one since the quality of the other place we used wasn't the same as it used to be. My daughter was being baptized in the summer and we needed a cake. I've always heard of praise of Buttercooky Bakery from friends that had gone the original location, so we thought to give the Huntington location a try. The staff did provide us a catalog of images of other cakes they had made. We loved the one with the cross with flower on it and wanted something similar. The cake came out amazing. We got a cannoli filling with yellow cake which was moist and delicious. My friend who was the godmother paid for the cake which was moderate pricing considered the size amount of detail that went into it. We have revisited in the time after the cake to grab pastries, other sweets and coffee. Service was always good when we were in the bakery. This is the second location of Buttercooky that I've visited. The first was in Floral Park, they made my wedding cake. This location has a lot for parking which is great. Then I called Buttercooky, and they went above and beyond to make them fresh the same day! I was so surprised and thankful for their exceptional service. I've had cakes from other Buttercooky locations before because I work in Queens but I was tempted to come to this location because they accept the Foodie Card. The instagram reels of the pink Valentine's hot cocoa with a cookie on top gave me the push to travel to Huntington to finally give this place a shot. They have ample parking which I was happy to see because Huntington is usually known for bad parking situations. My sister and I each got a pink Valentine's hot cocoa which was yummy and adequately priced and we also got a few pastries and split a breakfast sandwich. Everything was delicious! They have a decent amount of seating and it's very cutely decorated. They also have a bathroom you can use. Upon checkout I showed them my Foodie Card and the cashier verbally acknowledged it. Upsettingly when I asked for the receipt I noticed that my 10% discount was not applied. I'm not one for confrontation so I just let it go considering it was starting to get busy inside and I didn't want to make a fuss. If I return I'll be more assertive and make sure I get my discount. Their breakfast sandwich is my sons favorite and mine is their avocado toast. I absolutely love their red velvet cakes and cupcakes. Definitely a must have when we stop in. Update: I had another cake from Buttercooky this past weekend at my uncle's party and this time, it was actually mango! You can very clearly see the difference in color of the mango cake and the cake I received for my mom's birthday which was a pale yellow cream (aka lemon flavored!). I'm not sure why this bakery doesn't have a higher rating because personally I was floored by how good the cakes were here. Service: Quick and friendly. They ran out of happy birthday signs and the person who helped us ended up writing it on a separate chocolate square at no extra cost and we really appreciated that. Price: The pastries and cakes are all very reasonably priced. Inside: It's a pretty informal bakery. It's clean and they have a spacious seating area. Cakes/Pastries: WOW! I was really really impressed with the desserts at this bakery. We got the individual Oreo cheesecake and it was perfect. Not overly sweet or too few Oreo pieces. It also had a nice chocolate glaze on top but that glaze didn't overpower the cheesecake. The crust was also perfect, slightly crumbly and didn't taste too buttery. We also got the chocolate cappuccino pastries for our family. The tart was perfectly soft and crispy and the the flavors of cappuccino and chocolate melded perfectly, neither was too overpowering. We didn't get a big cake but the ones we saw on display looked delicious and were very beautifully decorated. My husband isn't a big sweets person but even he was very impressed with this bakery. This is the third time I have ordered a delivery from the Huntington Buttercooky. The deliveries are always missing items and are packaged without any care. So I am done ordering from them. I am in a position at the moment where delivery is convenient for me. If Buttercooky is not interested in doing deliveries, then don't offer the service. I have an office on New York Ave in Huntington, since the early 90s, and Reinwald's was a great bakery. I have tried to give my business to Buttercooky since Reinwald's closed. Unfortunately, I am now going to look for a new go-to bakery. This review is about pointing out how dis-interested in customer service this business is. Again, I also have a business, and I only bend over backwards to keep my clients happy. If I showed this type of disinterest, I would not have a business. I spent many years talking up Reinwald's, and I've tried to do the same with Buttercooky. I had minor surgery a few weeks ago and bought everyone in the doctor's office muffins and scones from Buttercooky. Everyone loved them. So I ordered a pound of rugelach to bring to my follow up appt - I received 4 pieces. They may or may not care about this review and word of mouth might not affect their business. But all branches of Buttercooky have lost my business, for what its worth. Sad to see small businesses being run with such carelessness. Also, I love how the bakery and uber eats just takes my money. Absolutely horrendous service. The Huntington location is the worst location. One of the girls messed up my order and instead of apologizing and refunding me the cost of the error the reply was that the item could not be refunded because a manager was not there. I was then told that I could come back tomorrow if I wanted a refund when a manager was on site. When I relayed to them that I would not be taking a trip back for the refund that I would be contacting my credit card company to dispute that part of the transaction she then threatened to not give me the sandwich that was already paid for. We will not be ordering our Thanksgiving or Christmas cakes or anything else from them. Called buttecooky bakery and they noticed the dozen donuts ($55) remaining there so they said I could pick them up myself or theyd refund me. I was told by a staffer they'd call me back that day with the refund. No call, no refund. It's been 4 days and I haven't heard from them. I called and the manager Tyler told me that they cannot refund me because I ordered through Uber and I need to contact them. After waiting all this time I was annoyed that I was misinformed by their staff and no one even called me back. I know I'm not going to get anyone at Uber and they will not refund me. I can't get to the bakery so I plan to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. Lesson learned! Do not order a delivery from this bakery. I really want to like this place. First of all, it is basically across the street from my house, second of all it is clean, cute and everything LOOKS delicious. Unfortunately, I have come back about 10 times and each time have been disappointed. The service is good! The ambience is good! But all of their baked goods are honestly terrible. I am so surprised to see so many good reviews of the food because any of the baked goods that you get at ShopRite down the road are 10 times better. And supermarket baked goods are terrible! Butter cookie baked goods are inedible. Everything tastes stale and is pretty flavorless... No hint of butter in anything. I've gotten three different kinds of cupcakes on three different occasions, and each time we literally threw them out because no one wanted to eat them.
