Best Wester New Oregon was okay for me. The customer service was great with them letting me check in early! The room itself appeared clean, however, the bed was hard and the shower was a tiny rectangle box. Really no room to move around in. As more hotels move to have bottles of body wash, Shampoo, and Conditioner in the shower, this one has not. The property looks pretty well maintained, but you can definitely tell it's older and hasn't had many upgrades. Would I stay there again? If only based on customer service, yes, otherwise no. I'm still in pain from that bed days later. And, just a pet peeve of mine, but the tv cuts off automatically. read more

Here's what is really good about this hotel: Remodeled rooms. Proximity to campus. Proximity to the Matt or Hayward. Very friendly staff. Available and reliable WiFi. Nice breakfast selection and layout. Here's what isn't so great about this motel: The bathrooms are cramped. That's it. Everything else is pretty much what-you-see-is-what-you-get. Parking is easy, access is easy, and if you need something, then they are very willing to help provide it. The breakfast space is in a different building, so you might have to walk in the rain, but guess what? You're in OREGON. It happens that way. If you just want coffee, then they have a coffee and tea station near the front desk at all hours of the day. It goes without saying that rates for ANY hotel in Eugene get crazy when there is football or university happenings. But I stayed in a single king room for three days and dropped just over $300, which is a pretty good deal to me. If I would've stayed further down the street or downtown, then I probably would've paid much more than that. Nice enough place, very nice staff, and great breakfast. It would be nice to have maid service daily, but it isn't critical. I certainly understand staffing can be a challenge, and I will probably be back here again. read more

From the outside it looks like your standard motel, but it was better than expected. We booked a balcony room that faced the river, park, and college and the view was super cool. We got to see ducks, nutria, and other wildlife right outside our room. The room is definitely older but it was clean and comfortable for a night. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included was better than expected- variety of bakery goods, bacon, omelettes, waffles, etc. Location was great- close to campus, park nearby, river path, and restaurants near by. read more

Having to travel across country is never an easy task, especially when it's a death in the family. We stayed at this best western not expecting much, but I have to leave this review because Becca at the front desk literally made our family's day so much better, she was so accommodating, and when above and beyond to make sure me and my pregnant wife had everything we needed. I left my wallet in the lobby and she made sure it was safe and even put my room number next to it just incase, god bless her, small acts of kindness and honesty are far and beyond these days! Absolutely misrepresented. Supposed to be non-smoking. They make you sign a waiver that since it is non-smoking that if you do smoke in your room or around the room they charge you $300. I get to my check in, get my assigned room and it wreaks of stale smoke that they tried to cover and cover again. The cover to the heater was completely hanging off and broken and I was told that is normal. Was shown another room in an interior hallway that one hundred percent did not feel safe even walking down and smelled just as bad. Shown a third room and the gal was even able to smell it. I am allergic to cigarette smoke so it was an instant reaction. I was told they could not refund me but could give me 30% off my stay. Not even remotely acceptable. I asked for a non-smoking room, and had to sign a waiver for $300 if I did smoke or they smelled smoke but your rooms smell like smoke and weed so no not acceptable. 45 minutes later after pretending to be on the phone with a manager they gave me a full refund. Then the following day I get charged for a nights stay and when I called to speak to a manager the gentleman who answered the phone didn't give his name and when I asked for it refused. Was finally able to find out who I was speaking to and told it would get refunded within 3-5 business days. Absolutely would never recommend this place ever read more

Feels more like a motel than a hotel, all the doors face outside and the room is much more outdated than the pictures. It was fine for a one night stay, but I wouldn't stay there again. The room had an old people smell with stains in the carpet, the bed had no headboard and hat wires directly behind the mattress (which worried me as a fire hazard). The shower was also small, as a 110lb 5'0 woman, I could barely move without touching the wall or the shower curtain . 3.5 stars I was passing by Oregon to drive back to Washington and Eugene is right about half-way. I called the same night and was told that they had some rooms. I arrived at about 8pm and booked a room from a very friendly front desk employee. I actually got a free upgrade to a double queen since that was all they had. I'm not going to complain although I wish there was a way I could sleep on both beds at the same time to take advantage. Besides the bed, the room itself was okay. It's a little old looking but if you're just staying for a night and need a place to sleep it's not bad. The TV had cable and even had built-in chrome cast which was nice and I did utilize that. When I book a hotel I only really care about three things: free parking, free wifi, and free breakfast. When I'm searching for hotels those are the filters I put automatically. The parking and wifi were there, but unfortunately the breakfast was subpar. It was take-out only so there was no dine-in option but I was expecting more than a frozen sandwich that I had to microwave myself. I didn't even eat it because it looked so unappetizing. Again, if you're not expecting much this place is more than satisfactory. For a last minute booking I paid about $100 for the night which is not bad at all for a one night stay. read more

Booked it within an hour of getting into town. Booked a king size pet friend, when I didn't have a pet, cause that was available. Room was clean, no smells. Very upgraded or it's a new hotel. Saw other guests with pets. No noise complaint on my end. Warm breakfast and coffee were yum! Only complaints, pillows and little to small and bathroom as well, but we can manage :-) read more

They had a bug problem when I stayed for a night. I found 10+ spiders and flying gnats in my first room and asked for a new room. The second room had an even bigger flying bug on the wall right when I walked in. The 3rd room they put me in had a dead bug and dirty towel immediately when I walked in the door and had a big spider web with a spider in it. I unfortunately had to spend the night in this 3rd room because it was very late at night and I was exhausted. I only received a $20 discount for this. read more

Worst WiFi I've ever experienced at any hotel. WiFi is 30 Gigabits per second for 10 seconds and then dial-up speed or complete disconnect. The intermittent-ness is super aggravating. I suspect that someone is actively trying to hack their system. If you stay, make sure you have a lot of LTE data to burn and whatever you do don't trust the WiFi. On the positive side; the room has a very nice, new and large flat screen TV with a Roku interface. No printed channel guide. No instructions to find the obscure on-line channel guide that occasionally gets stuck in a useless loop. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Nice front desk personnel. Overall, this property is about $25 bucks per night overpriced. I will not be a return customer. read more

I want to give you five stars I really do. The customer service in the staff is impeccable incredible wonderful everywhere I recommend their pool which feels like you're swimming in the river, heated pool they better never stop heating that pool cause that was bliss. Also having the combination of a hot tub and a dry dry, sauna, Absolute butter nirvana I'm coming back here definitely for sure this with me and my 13-year-old son, we had a great time and the breakfast was amazing hotel breakfast were usually subpar. This breakfast was amazing now for a few things you should know in room 451. You can see the river beautifully, but you could also see everybody eating in the breakfast if you're sitting in your living room and they can see you as well which is something to note because you can sleep in the living room of 451 which my son was doing on the pullout couch, which I might have to pull out couch at hot chocolate or something it looked like hot chocolate, and fortunately smelled like hot chocolate. My son told me, the tiles were broken and falling off the walls in the bathroom and pink mold in the corners in the bathroom here and there the body wash was empty and the toilet paper was low. Ice bucket was cracked. The TVs were small room for such a wonderful hotel, I wish the flooring was ripping up my socks, because the flooring in the main bedroom was separating out of the floor and ripping up my socks and my feet, the threshold between the bathroom and the main room Was separating and crunching every time I walked past it very disconcerting but again I really like this place. I hope to go back soon. I just really hope you repair these items at 4:51. I would be happy to stay in 451. Again, please feel free to look at all my pictures. read more

Turned us away at 10:30pm because we had a dog. We are repeat customers and had a three night reservation that they refused to honor. We were left scrambling to find a place to stay in the middle of the night after a 5-hour drive. Horrible customer service. They just sort of shrugged while another guest in the lobby was looking up rooms at other hotels for us. For the last few years we had been willing to stay here because of the location and previous pet friendly experience, but the rooms are very basic and just old with lots of paint and bad finishes. We were told the best they could do is a refund... If you have a dog, I would avoid this hotel at all costs. read more

Well.....if comedy could be explained in a few words, it would be Best Western New Oregon in Eugene! We purposefully were looking for a nicer place to stay in Eugene earlier this month, while visiting some friends and wanting to stay overnight. So we splurged, especially after seeing the photos of the hot tub, sauna, and there was even a steam room listed under amenities. We had booked via AlaskaAirlines.com to earn miles, even if we could have received a slightly lower rate elsewhere. Imagine how it looked as I walked around the pool area in my bathing suit looking for the hot tub only to be told by another guest they had removed it.....and went on to explain that's why they booked as well since they had kids. Looking in the corner, we both laughed at the cemented area where the hot tub used to be! Hilarious! I asked about the steam room and he shook his head, same about the sauna. Funny, there's even a sign stating the jacuzzi hours outside the door! So it turns out..........not only do they not have and never have had a steam room..........the hot tub was removed some time ago. Asking the front desk, she explained that it 'hadn't been taken care of so they removed it', they just forgot apparently to update any of their advertising for the hotel and their rooms. As if this wasn't funny enough, I asked about the sauna. No sign on the property whatsoever for it. Turns out they weren't lying however, they do have one for men and women.......in the men and women's restroom. A tiny 1 wooden bench mixed in with the toilets.....nice! Epic cleanliness to be sure, and no wonder there wasn't a sign. The room was just okay..........but old carpeting that was bunching up. A little worn overall, but that's fair, especially with 2 years of Covid and no guests. You cannot expect an expensive overhaul. All the more reason to offer the best service possible. You can expect a hot tub though and other amenities they advertise. Please understand we certainly believe in paying good money for a good room and thought we were getting what was shown and listed for the hotel amenities. It was the entire reason we wanted to stay there. A guest shouldn't have to call to confirm that something like a hot tub physically exists! Unfortunately, the comedy show didn't end there. The reception staff, while polite and doing their best, explained that no refund could be offered because we had booked on a third party website! Well considering the majority of customers book on any number of 3rd party sites, Hotel.com, Trip Advisor, Kayak, etc., you can see where their commitment to service seems to reveal itself. For our part, we contacted Alaska who did their best, but were told because we had already stayed there and the booking was complete there was no refund offered from the hotel owner. If that doesn't deserve a standing ovation for an encore I don't know what does. Imagine actually having to stay there and "complete the booking" before knowing half the amenities offered don't exist! Excuse after excuse. We would have gladly accepted a 50% refund and an apology. Suffice to say, we obviously cannot recommend staying here ever again and the next time we visit our friends, we'll certainly choose one of many other properties around Eugene. We'll just call first to see if they have doors and windows installed just in case! Lol! read more

Man oh man. What a stressful and very unsatisfactory experience. First off, prior to check in my flight was delayed. I did not arrive into Eugene until about 1:30am. This has nothing to do with Best Western. However, I wanted to make sure that there was overnight staff onsite to check into my room. I was on the phone for 2 hours waiting for the phone line to connect me. It continued to say over and over again connecting to operator. After 30 min I would hang up and call again. However I would continue to get the same message over and over again. I then chose to connect to reservations which of course was a 3rd party who was not at the actual hotel and they could not help me with late check in. They did put a note in the booking section, but couldn't promise me the staff on-site would see it. Then I arrived at the hotel, the hostess at check in was very strange. He spoke in a very sarcastic tone and was not helpful at all. I did not catch his name but he was working July 9th overnight shift. We asked a simple question due to charges. We thought we had already been charged for the rooms. The gentlemen working, printed out a receipt and stated "these are the charges that have been charged to this credit card" after reviewing the receipt it stated the credit card and zero charges. Though I respect the transparency, the overall demeanor was very very sarcastic. I can say that throughout my stay, as far as rooms and area, everything was decent. Worth the price we paid. Customer service on the other hand, not worth it!! Check out. To be honest, a whole other pain in the A**. I was charged twice for my stay at Best Western New Oregon on two separate credit cards. I waited a few days because originally the charges said *pending*. Today, the charges went through on both cards. I've spent the whole day disputing these charges. 24 flipping hours calling Best Western New Oregon and IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. For most of the day, I was calling and calling and of course only getting through every 30 minutes. For the first half of the day, I was told "we're sorry our system is down we cannot help you at the time". I then received an email from the on-site manager, Lauren Beard, stating that she was very sorry for our unsatisfactory stay and if i needed any support to give her a call. Every call I made I asked for the manager and the response was "we're sorry she is currently in a meeting can we take a message?". I left a message, multiple messages and never received a call. I also emailed her back from the same email and did not receive a response. Their system finally was back up around 4pm and the front desk lady proceeded to tell me that one charge is pending one charge went through. I explained to Best Western that the charge went through on both cards and I spoke with my bank to confirm this. The lady then told me I would have to call back tomorrow morning between 8/9am to speak with the on-site manager Lauren Beard. To say the frustration is real is not a lie. The fact that no one can help me with a double charge is truly frustrating. This is Best Westerns mistake and no one is taking accountability to help!! Instead, I am on vacation stressed about multiple charges on my account. In the end, I personally will not be staying at the Best Western New Oregon again. I may consider others as Best Westerns are privately owned but I will not be spending money or time here again, and I suggest if you would like a stress free and transparent vacation you spend your money elsewhere as well. Very disappointed. Hope for these charges to be resolved. read more

I took my family out to this motel in Eugene Oregon for the Easter weekend, and it was horrible. We found a poop stain on our blanket and sheets, and they did not offer us another room, but they only gave a sheet and they lied on their note, saying that they offered us another room and that we refused, they told that to price line so we could not get a refund and they were very rude, so I do not recommend this place to anyone to rent not only because they were rude and we couldn't get our refund but because it was unsanitary it wasn't sanitary at all and you could get sick. Plus we had bedbugs all over our bodies And the front desk girl was very rude to us. Her name is Aaron and very rude to us and they have very bad customer service so I do not recommend this place to anyone and the place is very costly and very high price for what it is and also the area around is no good. I feel bad that I took my family there never again never again. read more

Terrible!!! We stayed two nights at this mess. There were two tvs with two remotes that were useless. I got up at 2:30 in the morning because I couldn't sleep, and went into tge adjoining room. I turned on the television, and it wouldn't turn to any other channel than the one it was on. Then I gave up and tried to turn it off. It wouldn't. I had to pull out the heavy dresser and unplug it. The room I stayed in smelled musty as well. I did complain at the hotel desk. She put the blame on me as I didn't contact them at 2:30 in the morning with my friend asleep in the next room. Come on. . . Run away as fast as you can. This hotel staff obviously doesn't check for things to function before the guests move in. read more

Pretty nice rooms & staff. Overall experience is great! I love that I can binge-watch youtube videos on the smart tv provided in every room, along with the complementary free wifi of course. Two star review for the two stars this MOTEL should be rated. That's right, the rooms open to the outside and the parking lot (no mention of that online). Our room had ants, spiders, and cable TV whose sound went in and out. Buildings have low ceilings, they are obviously on the older side. All in all, I had a good night's stay. The shower had great water pressure, the king size bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and I enjoyed the balcony. The AC was a bit spotty. I checked in after dark and thoroughly enjoyed my river view and the balcony, but I was horrified in the morning when I went to drink my coffee on the balcony. The river was murky and stagnant, there was a bicycle under the water and lots of clothes strewn about. Pretty gross, actually. I would stay there again, but not at the price I paid. This place worked well for us. It's centrally located with restaurants, the University of Oregon, and an event center all within walking distance. They only have select channels so if you are wanting to watch television you will be disappointed. The staff here provide excellent service and were all very friendly. The bed was comfy and the room was very clean. The room was a little narrow while walking to the bathroom area due to the layout. We got a pet friendly room. We walked our dog around the area and went to Alton Baker Park as well, which is a nice park to walk dogs on leash. read more

We had bites from sleeping there. Their mattress is old and disgusting. The staff could be faster and more friendly--horrible place.1) Will was rude upon our booking. We were in Eugene for our daughter's graduation. 2) We had bites all over our bodies from sleeping in the room, and when we reported it, the staff person denied it. We spoke to Matt, the general manager, who was eating, and food was falling out of his mouth as he talked to us. When we got home, we called asking for the courtesy of a one-night comp and were told no by Madison. We have shared our experience and posted all the photos. Probably not my first choice, but the BW was conveniently located across UO, where I had a 3-day conference. First thoughts...it was a former motel, now disguised as a hotel. Lobby area was nice. Staff was friendly. I was initially given a room on the first floor. Erie thoughts of what happens to people staying on first floor of motels -in the movies- popped into my mind, so I ask for a different room on an upper level. I get room 309, which was actually on the second floor. Overall, room was okay. It looked clean, bathroom a little outdated, but I had a double sink, huge TV, sitting area, and a king-sized bed. The hotel had free breakfast every morning, but didn't take advantage of it since my conference offered breakfast as well. The BW has a gym (weak), pool and jacuzzi (outdated), and saunas. Best part was that it was within walking distance to Track Town pizza! read more
