Avoid this company!! For the past three weeks, I have been attempting to have someone from BEST Kitchens and Baths to get back in touch with me regarding a bathroom remodel completed in 2019 that has workmanship errors now causing damage to my home. Following the work being completed in 2019, BEST provides a two year warranty which was a huge selling point when I selected them to do the work in my home. I reached out over three weeks ago on Saturday May 15th via email. I did not receive any reply until Thursday May 20th, when they stated that they would have a project manager assist. Since that initial reply, I have emailed three times with no response as well as called three times, left voicemails and have still had no contact. The result is now the initial issue is getting worse and causing more damage to my home with BEST choosing to ignore my contact entirely. read more

We hired BEST to build a 400-sq-ft addition on our home. The project was scheduled to begin March 3, 2019, and we were told it would take 8 weeks. March 3rd came and went with no communication. After a few days, we contacted BEST and were told there was some hold up with the permit. It became immediately apparent that BEST, and the project manager Ben McBride, were completely unfamiliar with the permitting process. We finally broke ground on April 23, 2019, seven weeks late. We were assured it would still be an 8-week project. As with the permitting process, it became undeniable that BEST had no idea what it was doing. Our impression was that there were no plans for one step of the project until the previous step was completely done. So, for example, the foundation was finally completed (which took 2 tries), and only then did BEST start to figure out how to do the framing. So, between each step, there was typically a delay of 4-6 weeks as BEST tried to figure out what to do next. And during this entire process, there was next-to-no communication. We regularly went 6-8 weeks with no contact, and then one day a sub-contractor would show up at our house. In Fall 2019, one member of BEST started coming to our house every day. At first, we thought this was a sign of good things to come, and maybe the project would start moving again. We have now discovered that almost everything this person did was done incorrectly (e.g. interior framing). While this employee was coming to our house, there was no oversight or supervision. We were made many promises that were either forgotten or ignored. We were told someone from BEST would be at our house every day while the project was going on - this never happened. We were told there would be regular walk-throughs to discuss progress and next steps - this never happened. We finally moved in to our new space on February 17, 2020, about 10 months after we broke ground (on the 8-week project). After moving in, we developed a short punch list that consisted of mainly cosmetic issues. As of the writing of this review (August 25, 2020), we believe we have said goodbye to BEST for the last time. The punch list was only recently completed (as much as we think it will be) after another 6 months have passed, and some items have been either ignored or forgotten (interior paint and drywall repair/touch-ups). ***UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW, BELOW*** It is November 29. We have passed the 7 month mark since ground was broken (almost 9 months if you count the 6 week delay from when the project was supposed to start). We are *this close* to a BBB complaint because this company has shown their incompetence over and over again. Examples: they didn't buy enough drywall, which delayed the drywall guys; they ordered the roof trusses after the framing was done, bringing everything to a halt; they waited to buy a closet door until the day the closet door was supposed to be installed - and then found that Home Depot didn't have the kind of door they had planned on using. Ben, the project manager, has been on site about 5-10 times over 7 months. Unacceptable. Proceed with caution if you hire this company **** There is too much to put in writing. Suffice to say that they way under-estimated how long our project would take and over-estimated their ability to manage it. So, thanks to empty promises, lack of accountability, and overall poor management, we have piles of dirt, destroyed landscaping, and some framing for an addition that they told us would be done in May. Take the name of their company to heart: if you want an existing kitchen or bath redone, they are likely excellent. But when you start involving subs, they don't seem to have the relationships or project management skills to realistically estimate or effectively execute a larger project. I would love to be able to post an update telling you that they worked hard and got the job done in our newly agreed-upon time frame. We'll see... read more

Reasonable prices. Excellent service. Beautiful work on my kitchen and bath. These people are skilled, knowledgeable, communicative, and go the extra mile to make things perfect. They wore masks at all times and were very courteous. I'm recommending this company to my family members. read more

Ben is super experienced in construction and understands what it takes to get a project done from beginning to end. These guys do not deliver what they bid or accept payment for. I am one year and 3 months into a project that should have taken 4 weeks at most. Yes covid has impacted things. But I know many many people that have completed full remodels and houses built in the time it has taken them to even complete a 1/4 of what I have paid for. Buyer beware! read more

I met Ben during a recent home show. After a short discussion, I knew this was a company I wanted to redesign my master bathroom. Working with Ben to design the room was fun and exciting. Together we came up with a plan that I knew I would love. However, I must say, the company exceeded my expectations! From the luxurious bath to the amazing shower, my master bath has been transformed into a spa experience. There were a few hiccups that pushed the project out; yet, Ben remained committed to excellence, paying attention to details for the project. The company stays busy, but don't rush it. The end product will be worth the wait! I plan to have the company remodel my kitchen and guest bathoom. I think that's the best recommendation I could give. read more

This company gets ZERO stars (but I have to give them one so I can post this review). We hired them to renovate our kitchen and 2.5 baths. It's over 6 months and it's been nothing but poor workmanship, lack of communication, and they've dropped off the face of the earth. Very disappointed in our experience thus far. We met Thaddeus at a home show in July and decided to do a partial master bath remodel, with a new shower and glass door, new counter tops, faucets, mirror and vanity light. We did not do anything with the bathtub or flooring. We were told it would be early October before they could get to us, and it could take a couple of weeks to complete, which we agreed to. That part went fine. Well they did not start our job until December 2, and we found out a week ago that the quartz we had chosen had been discontinued!! So we made another selection and were told last Friday that they would get the pieces cut and would return the day after Christmas. No one has shown up yet - but if they get this job finished by Saturday night and everything looks great I will change my review. But I'm doubtful this will happen...communication has not been good and now we are frustrated and regretting we ever made the decision to use this company. GRRRRR. read more

We loved how our kitchen turned out so much that we had Ben and his team come back and do the master bathroom after. Of course, our master bedroom looks fantastic. One star because I cannot give anything lower. More like "Worst" Kitchen and Baths! Do NOT EVER hire these people. We wanted a remodel of our MB shower: Poor communication from beginning to end; they didn't show up when they were supposed to and then showed up unannounced. Over the life of the project we had 12 "no show" days and ultimately, they only worked 22 out of 96 available work days. We did our own demo and were ready (on time) by Aug. 1st. They didn't show up until Sept. with no notice only to continue with one delay after another. We didn't get in our new shower until end of Jan. And that's nowhere near the worst of it. The quartz surround in the new shower is not square, level, parallel or plumb. Cut and re-cut to make it "look" okay, seams are still crooked anf they cut a square hole for the round shower valve trim. It's a month old now and we're going to have to re-caulk the seams for the 3rd time. Most of the work was sub-contracted out; none of them knew what they were doing when they showed up due to poor coordination and zero oversight. Nightmare from start to finish. They left trash in our home and on the property. They damaged our ceiling, new window, stairs and hallway, and we'll have to repaint our front door. No offer to compensate for damages. But they did try to upcharge us along the way. So much more, but I can't write it all here. If you spoke to Ben at the home show...RUN! Do not walk, RUN away. read more

We had a bathroom remodel done by BEST. We selected them because they quoted a nice updated bathroom with quartz panels which makes shower maintenance much easier than having to deal with tile grout. The bathroom looks great but my one concern was that the project took longer than I expected. read more
