I was in the neighborhood last week and super hungry for lunch so I stopped in this little place. It feels like an old school Cantonese restaurant with older red decor, and those round tables with lazy Susans on top. I would have liked to try more Dim Sum but I was by myself so I had the lunch special instead. It was very generous with choice of soup, egg roll, cashew chicken and fried rice. Everything in my cashew chicken tasted so fresh, all the vegetables and chicken. There was a lot of both chicken and cashews, and I really enjoyed it. The fried rice was a little bland but otherwise it was good, and a decent value. I really enjoyed the Jasmine tea as well. I'd love to come back sometime with someone else to try some Dim Sum and try a few more things. read more

Sometimes I have this crazy craving for fresh dim sum, either it's awakened by my childhood memories or I just really want to bite into my favorites. If I don't fulfill my taste buds it usually gets worse, so my lovely fiancee quickly searched Yelp for the best place and found Best Dim Sum. The store was located in a strip mall and was easy to spot since they placed large dim sum pictures all over the window. Once we entered the shop, it looked like an old-school, classic Chinese restaurant with deep maroon booths on the side and round tables (w lazy Susan) in the center. All the servers were friendly. We got our order in and they printed out a receipt and stuck it on our table to keep track of their orders. Which I appreciate because it's easier for everyone (including us) to track the dishes and progress. We ordered Shaumai, Shrimp chive dumplings, deep-fried salty dumplings, lotus sticky rice, Chasiu bao, shrimp paste eggplant and egg tarts. I am happy to report everything tasted wonderful here, except the Shaumai because its wrapper was a bit soggy from the steam. However, it's still quite delicious so I can overlook that. My favorites were egg tarts and deep-fried salty dumplings. The egg tarts has a crunchy crust with silky filling, while the hot crispy fried salty dumpling made my taste bud goes OMG! Overall, I am happy we can find a good dim sum restaurant in the Rocklin area, just in case another dim sum craving emergency hits! read more

Came in on Sunday and it was empty. We were told to sit wherever we wanted to. Only one person working the front of the house with taking phone orders, working cash register and waiting on tables so service was slow. There was a large party of about 12 that came in. We got an orange chicken lunch combo which comes with soup and fried rice. Neither were to my liking and small portions compared to other Chinese restaurants. Fried rice seemed like just rice and egg, no veggies or anything. Soup was egg drop soup with corn. I enjoyed the shrimp rice roll and ha kao (shrimp dumpling). We also got fried shrimp balls but the sauce it came with was sweet chili and not the sweet and sour sauce. This family-owned gem has a lot of heart and great food. The co-owner is full of energy and truly adds to the experience. If she knows you speak Japanese, get ready for a fun chat. she'll spill all the tea about the restaurant's community and business, which is a nice personal touch. The dim sum is a must-try, along with the scallop fried rice .both dishes are absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The small portion sizes are more than enough, so don't worry about overordering. Definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for good food and an even better atmosphere! read more

Dim Sum in Granite Bay! How Awesome right?! The dinsum was much pricier than normal for the basic dishes but we expected that since you are eating at the only dim sum restaurant in this whole area. The restaurant it's really small, but has about 10 tables. Come when they open to avoid long wait. They have all your typical dimsum dishes nothing like level two or three from seafood restaurants but sui mai and hai gows and buns. The other dishes we ordered today was just average. The pan fried noodles lacks flavor and smoky wok flavors. Wor wontons tasted like bland wonton, and the salt n pepper tofu was decent but $13 for an appetizer dish was a bit high. I would just stick with the basic dim sums. It's probably the best option for this area. read more

So excited and delighted to have a real dim sum restaurant in Granite Bay/Roseville/Rocklin area!!! We've been wishin' and waitin' a long time. Restaurant took over Season Kitchen's location in the Granite Bay Village Shopping Center. I went on a Wednesday around 5 PM before the dinner rush, so I didn't have to compete with any other customers to order dim sum! I couldn't decide and resist ordering, so I pigged out ordering 4 dishes just for me. I finished my meal within an hour. My first dim sum plate of FRIED PORK DUMPLINGS came out within minutes of ordering. So fast that I suspect it was reheated, but it turned out to be my favorite dish. It could have been served a little hotter. The dumpling wrapper is made of chewy, sweet glutinous rice. Marinated ground pork inside. The next two steamed dishes came out about the same time: Shrimp Chive Dumplings and LOTUS LEAF STICKY RICE. Beautifully wrapped, the shrimp chive dumpling wrapper was too thick and predominant as I ate it. The Lotus Leaf Sticky Rice was pretty good. I wished there was more salted egg yolk in it, but I'd order it again. Plenty of meat inside. The most complicated to assemble dish, Golden Shrimp Rice Roll, came out last. Not being Cantonese, I don't think I love and appreciate and crave fried bread sticks as much as my Cantonese friends! Dish looked great in photos, but I guess I don't enjoy fried foods as much these days. I liked the shrimp filling and the Chinese broccoli (gai lan) garnish though. I probably would enjoy the Shrimp Dumplings or Shrimp Rice Roll more. I saw at least 2 customers ordering BAKED CUSTARD PINEAPPLE BUNS to go, so that may be a dish to order in the future. It's possible they ordered based on the pretty photo posted in the front of the restaurant. I'd also be interested in ordering Eggplant or Green Pepper Stuffed with Shrimp Paste next time. Glancing at other customers' tables, I don't think the meat entrees looked appetizing. I'd stick with the dim sum. Lots of seating inside. Big tables with Lazy Susans. Good for families and large parties. I thought the restaurant looked nice inside. Clean, handicap-accessible restroom. Service was fast and efficient. You might need to flag a server down for more water or to go boxes, but it's easy to do that since they walk past you often. While not the best dim sum I've ever had, Best Dim Sum will easily satisfy a dim sum craving without having to enter a casino or drive to Sacramento and deal with crowds and wait times. As their business name states... this is the best dim sum in Granite Bay! Still have plenty to explore as we're new to Roseville but this spot absolutely sets the bar high! This hole in the wall dim sum is small and isn't your typical Chinatown spacious restaurant with carts rolling around, but it will definitely satisfy your dim sum cravings just as successfully! Besides one hiccup with the beef rice noodle dish (tad overcooked), nearly everything we ordered was on point and brought us back to downtown LA Chinatown's delicious food spots. Service was fast, staff is very friendly (family run restaurant, I believe), space is small limited so call ahead of time for waiting time, clean environment, and plenty of parking spaces so don't worry about that. I saw a fellow foodie post about eating here and I was sold on the words "dim sum". We came on Saturday at opening because I don't do lines. There was no wait and we were the first people in. Our food came out piping hot and so quickly, I kept wishing I could eat faster! The flavors were on point and we enjoyed everything. We went on Sunday before lunch time and was seated immediately. - fried sesame ball: lots of chewy coating but little red bean filling - bbq pork bun: the pork filling was delicious but the buns were rather small. - Shanghai meat dumpling (XLB): the skin was too thick & no soup inside the dumpling. The meat filling tasted good though. - general chicken with rice (lunch special): the portion was huge! The chicken pieces were super crispy. The sauce was good but it was overwhelming as they put too much sauce. The only thing that we felt worth it for the price When I tried to pay with apple pay, the cashier said that the internet was down. I asked to pay with other credit card but she insisted me to pay cash although the person before me was able to pay with credit card. Luckily I had some cash on me. The food at Best Dim Sum is delicious and fresh. This was our first time here. My husband wanted to try Dim Sum so we Googled Dim Sum and picked this place. We had the lotus leaf sticky rice, beef tripe, shrimp dumplings, and hot and sour soup. Everything exceeded our expectations and we couldn't get over how good the food was. We savored the flavors which were unique to every dish. I think our server may have been the owner. She was very friendly to everyone that came in and took the time to talk to her customers. The food was delivered quick and hot by a gentleman from the kitchen. We can't wait to go back and try more! read more

Went back on a weekday for lunch and it was not crowded, what a difference from the holiday dim sum crowd!! There were only two staff members working and both waited on us. I believe it was the owner making the food and also served us along with the waitress. The owner was friendly and engaged in conversation and was very sweet. They were both very patient with us as we stayed for around 2 hours talking. They made sure we had everything we needed. Onto the food. We ordered more dim sum and also wah wonton soup and house chow fun. Both were delicious. I was worried about the wontons because they seemed to have a thick wrap but they were tender and the meat inside was excellent! The chow fun was cooked perfectly and it comes dry but you can request it with gravy as well. I just love this place and will go back often. read more

Honestly, top 3 dim sum that we have ever had. Having lived in SF and frequently going to Sac and Stockton for dim sum, my husband and I are SO happy we found this place! The woman that works there, Lena (spelling may be wrong), is absolutely fantastic. She works hard, she's fun, and she takes care of you! The chefs also killed it. The prices were amazing as well. Zero complaints. My stomach is growling thinking about the food again! We will be back and next time bringing more of my family. Highly recommend! read more

After reading the many positive reviews and because I'm a huge Dim fan we stopped by on a cold, wet March day for lunch. The place has been only open for a year but has an aesthetic that it's been here longer with simple no frills decor. The server was very nice. I ordered my usual Dim Sum staples - bbq pork buns, spare ribs, siu mai, shrimp dumplings, shrimp rice roll. The flavors were very solid but a bit bland and helped by the red chili oil and soy sauce. The baked ciustard pineapple bun was also good. Not sure we'll be back but definitely a solid choice for Dim Sum. read more

We love dim sum and thought we would give this place a try. So glad we did! Everything was delish! I've been craving good chow fun and this House special included chicken, pork, and shrimp with lot of thick noodles. The lotus leaf sticky rice was really good too but forgot the pic. The staff are super friendly and kind. The restaurant ambiance mess a little work. I think for a quick meal it is perfect, but not a place I would want to come for traditional dim sum and tea to relax and catch up with friends or family. The Siu Mai (steamed pork dumpling) and Hum Soi Gok (tapioca fried pork dumpling) was very good. The Beef Chong Fun roll needed to be more tender. The beef filling needed a little scallion in the mix or ginger - not quite sure - but missing some flavor. The Char Siu Bao (Pork filled baked bun) needed more filling and the dough texture was off. Needs more milk and raising the the bun so that it is soft. The steamed pork bun was good; but again, we would have like it with more filling. In a nutshell; wouldn't say the best, but it is some pretty good dim sum. For the amount I paid and for what I got, it was a relatively good experience. Food tasted good. Theres a different array of food to choose from besides dim sum. The wait didn't take too long at all. It did come in phases. Wasn't the best dim sum I have tasted as the restaurant's name suggests but I wouldn't mind swinging by back here again. Didn't wait too long to get seated even during the latter half of peak lunch hours. The servers were nice and accommodating. Few minor things to consider, it felt rather warm inside and even more in the bathroom somehow, considering it was triple digit weather outside, it would be nice to be eating In a relatively cooler place , it was better but the warm temp wasn't the best. For a dim sum named place, it's relatively very much like any other Chinese themed restaurant with the menu options, no complaints there but makes the dim sum less prominent seeing as it just seems like just another menu item as oppose to being the featured option. This place is winning in service! There was a lady who took my order that was so kind and had a very caring aura. She made my experience awesome. The restaurant is small inside and has a very mom n pop feel to it. They even had one of the kids playing/doing hw at the booth in the back so you know this place is legit. Yum and yummy!! I am surprised with the quality and freshness of each dim sum entree ordered. We are thrilled with an amazing addition to Northern Sacramento region. Quality is amazing. We hope they keep this kind of quality for years to come. Fried shrimp balls - yum!! Crunchy and flavorful as expected. Golden fried shrimp rice roll - MUST TRY!! They do an amazing job with this entree. I've had it at several places and they do much better than most dim sum establishments in sacramento. Pork spare ribs - hot!! So so so good but it comes out steaming hot so eat it last. It's flavorful and one of my favorites. Taro cake? It's not taro...... another root. It's too 3 of all entrees. Texture is soft and delicious. Pork buns - they really don't lack in any flavors with the red pork buns. Delicious. Green Jalepeno with steamed shrimp paste - such a weird item but sooooooooo good!! Best Dim Sum is exactly that! We used to go Sacramento, but once we found this place, we don't need to drive that far anymore. Literally everything we have ordered has been amazing! This is really the best dim sum place in Folsom. We came in a bit late, close to their Closing Time. But the host was very nice and definitely made us feel very welcome. The food is super delicious. Portion is very generous. We ordered 5 dishes. They were ALL great. The price is very reasonable. Overall an awesome choice for lunch or dinner when you are in town. read more

The dough was light and sweet, the top was carmelized and sweet, and the custard inside reminded me of a Dole Whip from disney (exept it wasn't cold, it was warm). The "One Live Fish, Two Dishes" Approach: We selected a live black cod ($20/lb) and had the kitchen prepare it two ways. This is where the culinary team shines--both preparations were fresh, expertly seasoned, and utilized the fish to its absolute potential. The interior design is simple and functional--nothing flashy, but perfectly fine for a casual meal or a family gathering.
