Family visiting had a craving for dim sum but didn't want to travel to the city. Read the write ups and decided to try Best Dim Sum. The menu has an extensive addition of dim sum items. We were excited to have a local restaurant offer Dim Sum without us having to travel into Sacramento. We were greeted and quickly seated. We ordered off the menu and selected our tea. Dishes began to arrive shortly after our tea arrived. The stand out dishes were the bbq pork rice rolls, sesame balls, soy wrapped rolls, sweet rice triangle pudding, pork filled fried turnovers, and chive shrimp dumplings. This restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived but within an hour the place was bustling. It is only run by a family so 2 people trying to wait on 8 various sized tables/ booth was challenging.

Great place to get dim sum in Placer County, if you don't feel like driving to South Sac. It's a small establishment so it's best to go at opening or off-peak hours. Co-Owner Lina is awesome--super friendly and very hardworking. The first time we visited Best Dim Sum, we were amazed at how nonstop she was going! They have a huge menu including fabulous dim sum items as well as dishes such as chow fun and vegetables too! Prices are comparable to other dim sum places, we felt. Flavors were good, though everything was a little saltier than we would have liked, especially the beancurd skin roll. But maybe we're the exception. We just gulped down tons of ice water to compensate. The eggplant stuffed shrimp was good. Convenient parking, easy access to location. We enjoyed our lunch and had tons of leftovers for future meals also. Enjoyed chatting with Lina as well, which is what brought us back for a second visit! While not as amazing as the dim sum we've gotten in the Bay Area or around South Sac, we think it's definitely the best dim sum in Granite Bay!

Living in the Placer County area, we don't have many choices for authentic dim sum restaurants. You can always find Chinese, Korean, Thai, Japanese, etc restaurants, but if I want dim sum, I'd always have to head into Sacramento or the Bay Area. When I heard about this place, I was excited and couldn't wait to try it out. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall with plenty of parking. It's a small restaurant but they serve dim sum all day long. Oooh... whenever I get dim sum cravings, I can come here any time. Lina, the co-owner and our waitress was quick to greet us at the door with a warm smile and escorted us to our table. The menu has all of the typical Chinese dishes but there is a section for dim sum. That's what I came here for. We ordered, shrimp dumplings (har gow), shrimp chive dumplings, shrimp rice roll, eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste, bean curd skin roll, beef tripes, house special chow fun, and Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce. I know that's a lot of food, but we were looking forward to having leftovers to take home. It wasn't long before our food started arriving. OMG, I was in heaven. Everything tasted amazing. My faves today were the eggplant and shrimp chive dumplings. The only slight complaint that I had was that the bean curd skin roll was slightly undercooked and a little too salty. Otherwise, I couldn't be happier. Now I've got this great little gem of a dim sum restaurant nearby and I don't have to drive all the way to Sacramento to get authentic dim sum. Win-win! Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

As a Chinese, I approve this place. We tried their beancurd roll, golden shrimp roll and beef chow fun. Beef chow fun, in order to know a good Chinese food, it always starts with the basics. The chow fun was good, a little too oily but the flavor was good except it needed some wok hei. Our favorite was the golden shrimp rice roll, it was so good. Do we have betters yes. However, to find this dish in here Roseville/ granite Bay? It's nearly impossible! So 5 star for this dish!!! I really like the beancurd roll.. everything was just super hot to eat! Tasted a little bit more msg but delicious. The service was super friendly, we did the order online so it's super easy! The restaurant looks like a Oakland Chinatown restaurant, a little old style like some of those movies Chinese restaurant lol

Been wanting to give this place a try for quite some time now. Finally went in for lunch yesterday. Yum! Very friendly and fast service. Glad to get the last available booth rather than a regular table. Served our food piping hot as it was prepared and ready. We had sesame balls, steamed BBQ pork buns, shui mai, Shanghai dumplings and chive shrimp dumplings, plus hot jasmine tea. All were delicious and the portions were quite sizable. All of that for less than $50 for two of us (including tax and tip) ~ screaming deal for how expensive things are these days! The BBQ buns, shui mai and Shanghai dumplings were by far my favorites and the tea was delicious but nuclear hot when it came out so it took a while to be able to enjoy it. Knocked one star because the soy sauce bottle was super sticky and gross, like maybe never ever wiped clean. And there was a huge bowl of raw meat on the back booth table the entire time we were there (they were making shui mai, it looked like), but just seemed weird that it was out and unrefrigerated for so long ~ and in front of house. Overall, would definitely come back again!

I've seen many Yelp friends give great reviews for Best Dim Sum, so we had to visit when. We were in the area. We came for lunch right when the opened and we were seated right away. The inside had tables and booths. Each table had utensils, soy sauce, and hot chili oil. We ordered shumai, Shanghai meat dumplings, beef rice roll , and lotus wrapped sticky rice. All were great. The rice roll and sticky rice were our favorites. The Shanghai meat dumplings were a little small though. Service was fantastic. The owner was so friendly and kind. We did enjoy our lunch and felt it was great dim sum for the area. Hopefully we'll be back in the area to try them again!

Thanks to Yelp I discovered this place while searching for good eats in the area. I drove an hour round trip to have lunch here. I am glad I did. I sat in an old school booth and ordered three different dim sum dishes. Had planned to order more however some of serving sizes are larger than typical dim sum serving of three pieces. I got steam pork buns and they hit the spot. Best I have had in quite a while. Nice amount of high quality char siu. I got the eggplant stuffed with shrimp and was served four really big pieces. Tasty and satisfied my craving for shrimp. Finally I got the stuffed bean curd rolls and their version was different than I am used to and I liked the change. Lots of veggies, ground pork and pieces of shrimp in bean wrapper. I would get all these items again!

Great food, and so nice to have a place outside of Sacramento. Dumplings are "meaty"--they don't cut corners on portions or quality. Service is as expected for a Chinese restaurant but friendly. Hope it stays in business!

Peking Pork and Baked Custard Pineapple Buns

5 out of 5 for the baked custard pineapple buns. The custard had the perfect sweetness and the bread was soft and fresh. I also got the Peking pork lunch special and the portion size was decent for $14.95. Service wasn't too slow. I probably waited 20 minutes for my food. I'll definitely order again to try the dim sum and other plate options but next time I will do takeout.

Would not have discovered this Chinese dim sum restaurant if not for Yelp. Based on other Yelp reviews, we opted to give this a try since it was closer than our usual dim sum restaurants in south Sacramento. A quaint little Chinese cafe. Classic country music was playing in the background, which seems to fit the vibe of Granite Bay. The menu had a fairly extensive selections of dim sum and some traditional Chinese dishes. We ordered a variety of dim sum items and a Singapore noodle. The food was delicious. I like that everything was served piping hot unlike some of the larger dim sum restaurants with the push carts. Would recommend if you're in the area, and don't wish to drive down to south Sac or downtown Sac for dim sum or traditional Chinese food.

Is it the best dim sum, maybe in GB. The food is pretty good. Shrimp and Beef rolls. The rice rolls was the perfect texture and sauce. Broccoli and chicken with steam rice: The kiddos didn't care for the chicken but the flavor is good. The sauce on the broccoli and chicken was good. Mixed perfectly with the steak rice. Chicken feet: good flavor and the perfect chewiness. Steam bbq pork bao: The bao was soft and fluffy. The instead meat had a different sweet flavor compared to other steam bbq bao. A good different. XLB: surprisingly this one was decent. It's not many places that has compared to DTF in SoCal. The only thing was that it was not piping hot like DTF. DTF still has the best dipping sauce that no one have been able to compare. Shrimp chow fun: my kiddos like it but maybe they were super hungry. My daughter ate the shrimp. Maybe it's me but many places the noodles have been shorter than usual. Hot and sour soup, surprisingly this soup was really good. It's been a long time since I had this soup. Perfect sourness and spice. I was surprised this place did not do those auto apply tips. Which I am happy they did not. The wait staff did not come back to check and we were a little low on water. I can't say much about the black bean spare rib. Had to take it to go.

12.25.24 open Christmas and New Year's Day
    May A.

Open For Christmas [Granite Bay CA] I called to make sure that they were open for Christmas Day and, yes, they were until 8:30p. I was pretty sure that we weren't the only ones that would be dining out on a Christmas Day so we made reservations for 12:30p dine-in, party of 3. The restaurant was indeed busy. Arrived exactly at 12:30p and we were given a table immediately. Inside was small and cozy. We perused through the 8-page menu... there were a lot of options to choose from including Lunch Specials and Family Dinners. We placed our orders for the following: * Pork Pot Stickers * Shrimp Chive Dumplings (3) * Lunch Special - Mongolian Beef * Lunch Special - Kung Pao Chicken I've never seen such huge pot stickers! Also, I thought three pieces of dumplings would not be enough but they were huge so I'm glad we only placed one order of the shrimp chive dumplings. The lunch specials came with a small egg roll and side order of soup and we each chose the egg drop and the hot & sour soup. Mmm... egg drop soup is my favorite and it was delicious. Looks like a family-run business. Customer service was great and food came fast. Food was okay but I'd like to come back to try other items on the menu (eyeing that salt & pepper chicken wings). Other standouts included the spicy wontons in a great chili oil sauce and the truffle Angus beef fried rice, which featured surprisingly tender beef and a subtle, well-balanced truffle flavor. She came back to check on me a few times throughout my dining experience. My fried rice came out first. It was a LARGE serving of fried rice, it of course had eggs, carrots, peas, and BBQ pork. It was flavorful. Next came out the soup dumplings. They were brought out in a steamer basket with a top to keep them warm. These were amazing. The light and delicate dough, mixed with the savory pork filling, and the salty broth was perfection. Next came out my pineapple bao buns. To be honest, I wasn't sure how I was going to like them. To my surprise these may have been the star of the show. The dough was light and sweet, the top was carmelized and sweet, and the custard inside reminded me of a Dole Whip from disney (exept it wasn't cold, it was warm). These were pretty large and I'm semi embarrassed to admint I had 2 3/4 bao buns myself. Go here. It's delicious.

They were more like beef and shui mai paste. The sticky rice was good. I loved that they had salty egg yolks in them. The eggplant with shrimp paste is fried. This is different from what I'm used it and it felt too heavy. Overall, I'd go back but I'm also searching for other options. 8/10.

We ordered a ton of dishes, probably more than two people really needed it, but we wanted to make sure we got to taste some of our favorites. Overall, the dim sum is OK. My husband and I lived in the Bay Area for a while before moving to Davis for school, so our standards are pretty high. Unfortunately this is not going to be my new go to. Although the flavors of the food were pretty OK, we found everything to be really soft. Our shrimp and chive dumplings were literally disintegrating and my chicken feet were too soft. The sticky rice, however, and the tripe were delicious sui mai, and ha gao were pretty good, with the sui mai being pretty juicy. We paid $100 for 10 dishes! I know prices have gone up everywhere but this felt pretty steep. Overall, I don't think we'd come back. I would rather go to South Sacramento and eat dim sum there and then get my Asian grocery shopping done. Restaurant itself looked like a standard Chinese dim sum restaurant. Nothing to write home about.

We ordered two of their standout offerings: 1. Rib Steak with Mixed Mushrooms: This was exceptionally executed. The steak was tender, perfectly cooked, and the rich flavor of the mixed mushrooms complemented the meat beautifully. 2. The "One Live Fish, Two Dishes" Approach: We selected a live black cod ($20/lb) and had the kitchen prepare it two ways. This is where the culinary team shines--both preparations were fresh, expertly seasoned, and utilized the fish to its absolute potential. The interior design is simple and functional--nothing flashy, but perfectly fine for a casual meal or a family gathering. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, as the dedicated free parking lot is quite limited, so you may need to hunt for a spot during peak hours. The Drawbacks are Service, Restrooms, and Hidden Fees! While the food hits the mark, the rest of the experience is hit-and-miss. The service lacks consistency. Staff can be attentive one moment and completely absent the next. A major downside was the state of the restroom, which was noticeably stinky and poorly maintained. The most frustrating part of the night came at the end. Despite agreeing on the $20 per pound price for the live black cod to be made into two dishes, the final bill included two completely unmentioned, mystery fees: one for $5 and another for $3. While the amount isn't massive, the lack of transparency regarding upcharges for the two-dish preparation is incredibly unprofessional.
