They first ordered the wrong stereo, then sent me to pick it up in a different city, only for me to find out it wasn't compatible with my car at all. After hours of driving, waiting, and confusion, they realized even their own replacement order was incorrect. The whole department was unorganized, chaotic, and terrible at communicating. I eventually told them to just put my original stereo back, because nothing they ordered or recommended was right. I spent an entire day dealing with their mistakes a whole day of work, time, gas, and energy wasted for absolutely nothing. No accountability. No accuracy. No professionalism. I will never use their installation services again, and I suggest others avoid this department unless they want the same frustration and wasted time. Oh! One of the last stores for electronics. Has all the items that you need but lacks the full electronics such as Fys or Circuit City. Came here to browse kitchen appliances and mobile devices. No staff around at all to help. Given that this is a big store there's not much staff to ask for help. Or maybe I should say she's to find. I was greeted by a staff immediately by the door but after that you are on your own. I browsed kitchen appliances and was looking for a specific model and style for the shelving that's already installed. No one at the help desk. Went to the front and asked for help and was told to go back to kitchen area to wait for help to arrive. After an additional 10 minute I left because no one showed up to help me. Best Buy to the rescue. They have always been a great place to shop for big ticket purchases. However, fast forward to 2025 their inventory is not as large. I really hope they make it. My TV in my bedroom gave out. I looked online and found what I was looking for. I came in looking for a specific Samsung but ended up buying a bigger and better Roku TV with help from one of the Best Buy guys. He was not pushy, did not try to upsell anything. Spectrum TV app only works with a Samsung or Roku TV. Unless you use a Firestick, portable Roku box, etc. Which is why I bought it. The TV I purchased was light. I carried it by hand into the parking lot. I carried it up my stairs and set it up in 10 minutes. Easy peasy. Parking was great. There were no lines. Employees were cool. From start to finish it was smooth sailing. I have 90 days to return the TV. They also let you use after pay which is 4 payments once every 2 weeks. As of April 2025 no Tariff was on my purchase. read more

I went to this location because I saw an ad for a Samsung soundbar for $89.99. Then when I clicked on it I was taken to Best Buy and it was $10 more. Thus is the classic BAIT and SWITCH. California consumer law regulates business practices online. If the company has conflicting prices then they have to honor the lower of the two. The manager was rude when I explained and showed her the conflicting websites live on my phone. I told her I'm going to corporate and social media. Best Buy is a rip off. I went to Micro Center in Tustin and got a better Samsung soundbar bar for $99. The last time I went to Best buy was 8 years ago when I bought the 80inches Sony TV, it costs $7,000 it had all the bells and whistles. The store was beautifully decorated, they had a room beautiful like in a model home w all the best TV hooked up w stereo like in a IMAX theater, then you can wander around looking at all the best cameras, expensive toys, my husband being a paparazzo, he spent time looking at new cameras then looking at new DVD writers, I bought all the speakers, DVD writers and camcorders here. All that were gone we parked the car in an almost empty lot, it is the sign of the time, Jeff Bezos and Apple have taken over everything, nobody burn any DVD except myself! I burn all the DVDs of my cruises and trips for keepsake, posterity as data gets corrupted in hard disks, they last much longer in DVDs. I was shocked and saddened Best Buy was now just a warehouse, huge boxes scattered all over the store, no display of anything except a few TV, no cameras, they still have appliances and the Geek Squad. They had a big section selling electric bikes, it's even a worse idea than EVs as accidents are frequent and can be deadly, Simon Cowell was banged up really bad after an accident. They are quite generous here, black Friday sale already started. I went straight to the computer department. A nice geek helped me w my need, a Dell monitor $99 Black Friday price, regular $159, a $60 discount, I was thrilled on cloud 9 as the same 27 inches monitor, I remembered paying $240 or so 8 years ago. I hooked it and it drove me crazy w the flickering, it was flickering to a black screen every 7minutes, I googled it but the instructions were too complicated so I called the Geek squad, I told them it should be free as otherwise I'd return the unit and furthermore I have been their most loyal customer, I bought all kinds of gadgets from them over the year and the $7,000 biggest TV they had, Rijul was the geek helping me. He went thru all the latest update, troubleshot a few things and restart, it was amazing, unfortunately after he got off the phone, it started flickering again now every 20 to 25 minutes instead of every 5 minutes so I guess it's OK, if it bothers me too much I'll call them again. Costco prices used to be slightly better but I value the technical help at Best Buy, Costco has no such help that I know of. There used to be Frys, Staples, Office depot, they were all bankrupted/out of business, Amazon destroyed all the big box stores so Best Buy is the only one standing, support them or they will be gone and it will be our loss, I need to go back to buy a tower, they have all types, the best ones are about $1,500 to $2,200 but unfortunately none has a DVD burner as most young folks put everything in the cloud, my husband bought 2 terabytes of icloud but I hate to put my life pictures in the cloud so I'm undecided maybe I'll still use my Windows10 till it completely crap out on me, otherwise, I can call my nephew in San Diego if it has the screen of death again, blue or black! I'm debating if I should give them 5 stars, I think it should be 4.5 stars so BB is highly recommended, great customer service, they are the last one standing! Complaint About Rude Manager at Westminster Mall Best Buy Dear Best Buy Customer Service, I'm writing to report an unpleasant experience my boyfriend had today (July 3, 2025) at the Westminster Mall location. He went in to buy an Apple Pencil adapter and was helped by a brown-haired employee who offered an open-box item and told him to take it to the front because he couldn't find it in the system. After waiting over 20 minutes for a manager, a short, heavyset man (possibly Hispanic) showed up and immediately accused my boyfriend of bringing the item from another store, saying, "We don't have this here. Did you brought it from a different store???" When my boyfriend tried to explain that an employee over there had helped him, the manager aggressively asked, "Which one?? WHICH GUY???" My boyfriend replied, "the red-haired guy? idk his name" and the manager called the electronic section to confirm the employee DID redirect my boyfriend to the front, then the manager snapped back, "His hair was brown! Not red." This correction felt unnecessarily rude. After he finally bought the item, as he leaving the manager finished with a sarcastic "Hey sir, you SIR! Have a GOOD day." in a mocking tone. This interaction made my boyfriend feel accused and disrespected. A manager should never treat customers this way. I hope this behavior is addressed properly or he should reconsidered for a role that does not involve customer interaction. read more

One Star I initially had a fairly positive experience with my Samsung washer and dryer purchased from Best Buy--until everything went wrong after just three years. Out of nowhere, the dryer began leaking black oil onto my clothes, ruining several loads. I had no idea what the stains were at first, until another cycle came out scalding hot and destroyed an entire load of colored laundry--costing me hundreds of dollars in damaged clothing. I reached out to Best Buy for help, and their response? A $150 fee just to diagnose the problem, with an additional charge later for the actual repair--and no clear timeline. They couldn't even offer a basic estimate or guidance over the phone. Ironically, a simple Google search suggested it could be the drum, heating element, or thermostat. I'm not an appliance expert, but the fact that I could figure out more in five minutes than the Best Buy rep could over the phone is deeply disappointing. I ended up calling a local technician who offered same-day service--something Best Buy couldn't even come close to. I'll be leaving them a separate review based on performance. Bottom line: Don't buy appliances from Best Buy if you expect any level of aftercare or support. Nhat Pham and camilla from this store is a total whack job employee, i was doing an exchange from another store in costa mesa on the receipt you can literally see that i just purchased the product, never been opened and camilla started opening the box, even opened the camera sensor, opened the battery broke the seals and wrapper, and i started to worry as i told him i literally just got it and the only reason im here is the other store didnt have it in stock, Ngat Pham came stepped in told me go back to that store and deal with that i shouldnt even be here they should have processed it there and that they dont care i gotta pay the restock fee.... Im paying for what their employee opened...... they couldve simply checked the receipts date and time, to see it was just bought 20mins ago, how long it took to get from costa mesa to west minister was 20'mins, check the serial number and matched it and they wouldve seen that its brand new. On September 9, 2025, I visited the Best Buy located at 500 Westminster Mall Rd, Westminster, CA 92683 to purchase a large screen television, an "open box" sound bar, with mounting brackets for both the television and sound bar, to include a complete installation. Our very knowledgeable salesperson Steven P. who had patiently answered all our questions, scheduled installation for Tuesday, September 23. By 5pm on September 23, I had not received a phone call so I decided I would call Best Buy to inquire the status of my install. Instead of confirming an installation time, I was advised that no one had called since the installers couldn't perform my work that day, and we would have to RESCHEDULE THE INSTALLATION! To say the least, I was not happy. I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager, and the woman on the other end of the phone advised that someone from management would call me back in 15-30 minutes. It is now 5:30pm on September 26, and I am still awaiting that call. Installation was subsequently scheduled for Friday, September 26, again, following a call from the installers to advise a time. Around 9am on September 26, I received a call from Best Buy! Yeah, NO! Nick from Best Buy had done a quality control check on my equipment and was calling to advise that my sound bar had no power cord or remote, and did I still want it. Well, no! I want a complete sound bar, from Best Buy shared that he would cancel the previous sound bar order and bring me a new one, which he did. Nick was exceptionally informative, honest and truthful. He was particularly concerned about my satisfaction, as well as Best Buy's reputation. I asked Nick if he would have a manager call me today. He assured me that he would. I just received a call from Dave with Best Buy! He will be here about 6:00. I am eager to finally have this chapter closed. Dave arrived as promised and did a yeoman's job installing and setting up my television and soundbar. In my opinion, the rank-and-file associates of Best Buy are honest, truthful, and accommodating. I cannot say the same for supervisory or management associates. Telephone calls go unreturned; there appears to be a lackadaisical, and a "I don't give a rat's behind" attitude in the upper echelon. There's no place to write of a view for online shopping at Best Buy so I have no choice but to post here. When I call the customer service toll-free number and they couldn't help me they told me I should go into the store and this is my nearest store, although I don't know how they can resolve my problem if the customer service department is unable to do so. The bottom line is I purchased something for around $30 online and used a Best Buy gift card to pay for the purchase. The purchase was made through one of the Best Buy marketplace sellers. I never received my item so I contacted the seller which is what the direction say to do and they were very nice at first saying they were going to send a replacement. However, now almost 3 more weeks I've gone by and I still have not received a replacement. When I try to reach out to them via email, they send me a canned response which I've gotten at least a dozen times now that says they're no longer replying to emails that I have to reach them through the attached form where there is a link. I click on the link and try to fill out the attached form, but it asks things that do not apply to me as a consumer. It asks me for my business URL and lots of things relating to my business, which, of course I do not have. These things are red flag as required information for the form to be returned for their follow up. Since I cannot complete the form it never gets sent back to them and my issue does not get resolved. When I contact Best Buy customer service they tell me that yes they do standby their marketplace sellers but the only time they can step in is when the seller is not communicating with me, and since I am receiving these canned responses, they are in fact, communicating with me. I tried to tell them that communication is a two-way street. They keep sending me a can response that I'm unable to reply to so therefore they cannot continue the conversation. Best Buy customer service insist there's nothing they can do that. My only recourse is to reach out to the seller who as I've explained here cannot be reached and they do not respond. So in my book, Best Buy does not standby their marketplace sellers because they will not intervene. They say that the seller is communicating with me so there's nothing else that can be done. So my $30 is lost to the seller and I have no recourse because it's a gift card. Oh how I wish I use my credit card. Beware do not use the marketplace sellers on the Best Buy website, you have no protection. read more

I've been a loyal Best Buy customer for years, but after this experience, I'm done. I had the Total Rewards membership, which I assumed was still active since it was linked to my Best Buy credit card. Without any clear notice, my plan was canceled on 2/9 (Sunday), and when I called on 2/10 to fix it, customer service refused to renew it. Apparently, all my covered items are now completely unprotected. When I escalated the issue to a "call center" supervisor, I got the same dismissive attitude--zero willingness to help, just excuses. He claimed he was offering a "resolution" but refused to actually do anything. Then, I found out my membership was due for renewal back in December, yet when I physically went into the store in November to make a purchase, no one bothered to mention it. Instead, I was told they supposedly sent me three emails, which I never received or saw. When I asked for confirmation, I was met with fake, condescending "empathy." This is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. If this is how they treat long-time customers, I have no reason to keep supporting this company. Never shopping here again. I'd assign negative stars if possible! After days of research including a trip to the Westminster Best Buy I went back to place an order for a Samsung microwave and refrigerator. Well, the items I picked weren't eligible for the multi-item discount. I was twice quoted (at the first visit and on the phone) $40 for installation of the above-the-stove microwave, but it's $140. The great-priced Samsung refrigerator I picked on the Best Buy website is fulfilled by a third party and delivery is $670, not Best Buy's $40 delivery charge. Upon requesting a conversation to discuss these deceptive advertising practices, the manager Nhat just kept quoting the annoying company line. The only bright spot was Michael W, a very knowledgeable and customer-oriented sales associate who spent considerable time with me choosing a different LG refrigerator that will fit my difficult spot. He was also gracious when I ultimately left empty-handed and ordered that refrigerator from Costco. I will never step foot into a Best Buy again, but if you do I hope you find Michael. read more

Nice guy checked me out but overcharged me for soda stream exchange which should have been $16.49 not $31.99! I told them about that and they said no there's no exchange. Sorry but the website says when you do it in store... that you will pay $16.49. Not a lot of money but I hate to get ripped off when your site and policy states something else. I needed to upgrade my PC RAM, so I thought Best Buy would be the easiest and most convenient way. I drove to the Westminster location with one the the memory sticks. The computer associate inspected the stick and told me that it was DDR3 (they don't stock it), even though HP stopped using DDR3 in 2015. I didn't know at the time, so I trusted the "knowledgeable" associate, but it said "PC4" on the label (which identifies it as DDR4). His assured incompetence in his department not only lost Best Buy a sale, but also a customer. Not easy or convenient. Next time, I'll head to MicroCenter where they actually know what they're talking about. read more

Absolutely atrocious that the male employee at pickup at 2/28/2025 evening shift refused to let me know that I could change the pickup person to my partner who was next to me. I explained that I had lost my id and brought in my temporary print out id, but he would not assist with any suggestion. After leaving and getting home, I find out that the pickup person could've changed to my partner. Like, it's barely a 70 dollar order for toys. We could've just shown you my partner's id. This place has me flummoxed time and time again. I find the staff are often unable to effectively communicate. Both on the phone, online and in person. I don't understand technology speak. I realize part of this is my age, but the other part are the skill sets of the people working. I ordered an OPEN BOX online for a discount off of a wall mount for the 2nd hand tv I got from mom. Best Buy texted me once the piece was found. I asked the person who checked me out if we could confirm that everything was present in the box. They said it's not an open box. They ignored my request to clarify. They were unsuccessful scanning the product and declined to ask for help for a good 15 minutes. They gave monosyllabic responses and prompts. For example, my personal information was showing on a screen. They said "confirm". Excuse me? Full sentences are preferred. I wonder, why they do not place the people who poorly communicate somewhere other than dealing with customers. Eventually a seasoned staff stepped up to assist and did talk with me. She explained that when they can't find the open box, they provide a new one. Easy enough an explanation. read more
