This is one of those situations where you walk in thinking you're doing a normal upgrade and walk out realizing you just got played. I went to Best Buy in Springfield, PA to purchase an iPhone Pro Max 1TB through the in-store AT&T rep. I was told two things that turned out to be wrong: 1. I was told 1TB was the largest capacity available. Later I found out there's a 2TB option. 2. I was told my iPhone 15 Pro Max trade-in would be worth $1,100 in bill credits. What I actually received was $400. That's a $700 difference. That's not small. That's not "confusing fine print." That's the whole reason people do the upgrade in the first place. I called AT&T and they said I need the same salesman to sign a document stating he gave the wrong value. Seriously? So the fix depends on the person who gave the wrong quote being available and willing to admit it? I drove back to the store to handle it in person and -- surprise -- the salesman wasn't there. The employees who were there (Connor and Dennis) said they couldn't pull up what happened with my account. So I'm expected to trust a system that can take my money, take my phone, and activate my line... but can't display the terms I was sold? This is the second time I've had a problem with an AT&T rep experience, and it's the last. I'm paying off this phone and switching carriers. If you're reading this: do not do AT&T upgrades with a commissioned rep in Best Buy unless you have printed proof of the exact promotion and bill-credit amount before you hand over your phone. Otherwise the promises disappear the moment the transaction is complete. read more

How do the AT&T reps suck? Let me count the ways. I came in to buy my daughter a phone. I've had Verizon for eight years and recently was able to negotiate a price decrease for three lines to $170/month with HBO, Disney/Hulu, Netflix, ESPN, and HBO included. The AT&T rep convinced me that I'd get a much better deal with that carrier, 3 free phones (two of which I didn't even want) with streaming services other than Disney included. He also told me that I would receive a billing discount based upon my employer. He said he looked it up and my employer was enrolled in the program. That is incorrect. Per AT&T customer service, my employer does not participate in this program. I never received the boxes to ship back my old phones and had to spend 45 minutes on the phone arranging for that. Now that Verizon streaming has ended, I contacted AT&T about connection. AT&T does not offer streaming services at all. I went back to the store and the same rep told me that he never said anything about streaming but that AT&T offers Peacock and Paramount. Per the AT&T customer service line, they do not offer ANY streaming services. And I clearly remember him offering everything other than Disney. We discussed this, as I have a grandchild who loves Disney. This representative is either a serial liar or grossly incompetent. Whether this rep is an employee of AT&T or the store, he is selling a service at Best Buy. I will never shop at that store again.. read more

We went shopping in the Springfield store today. We were assisted by a very helpful, professional young man called Liam. We had previously spoken to 2 other people, both of whom had passed us on to a third person, who left to help someone else when he was approaching us. Liam found us waiting for that person to return, and helped us to get everything we wanted. He was so helpful in his explanations and recommendations that we actually bought two additional items that were on our "nice to have sometime soon" lists. I had to make a loan to buy a brand new electric stove. The stove is costing me $600 to borrow $600 and I am really upset because I used a brand new pan I purchased from Walmart just for my brand new stove and after scrambling an egg I can tell you I had removed the pan and the heating element for some very strange reason has impressions of little circles almost like silverish under the black glass that I can't get to and I can't wipe it off. Imagine if I cook on the stove a few more times how bad is this going to get? Why can't I give my buying experience zero stars? I went into the Springfield PA store knowing the TV I wanted to buy. On the way to the electronics department my path was physically blocked by two guys selling cell phone plans. Escaping them, I reached the proper department only to be served by the most inept sales person I ever would expect. He seemed to be thrown into the department with no training in the TVs he was selling, in Best Buy "add ons", and in Best Buy sales systems. He added on a service plan which would NOT cover my new TV, double charged me for installation, and told me I had to take my large, heavy TV home rather than have it transported by the installation team. The saving grace was that the installation team actually knew what they were doing and the TV works great. read more

Bought a GE café refrigerator from them waited a week had my measurements to take out my 42 inch refrigerator out. I got the house and put the new 35 inch refrigerator in its place when the man arrived they were new and refused to take my 42 inch refrigerator. App told me that I would have to meet another week or two to get a team of three men. since I had already had it checked and the other men tell me if I knew that it was a 42 inch I was shocked they left the refrigerator in the middle of my second kitchen all taken apart new doors no handles nothing attached and left me telling me that they could return within two weeks to replace it and take the old refrigerator away since I had no refrigerator I could not wait so I had to pay to have the all refrigerator taken out which was $300 and I had to pay $250 to have the new refrigerator raider put it also when they came to pick up the old refrigerator 42 inches on the driveway they came in and took pictures of the few scratches their men had put in the black of the refrigerator they never return, or gave me any assistance with the cost of what it was to have my refrigerator replaced. My experience was nothing short of amazing. Long story short I had the best two employees there! MD Eyazuddin which is a sales advisor is who approached and helped me when coming into best buy. I was looking for a computer something for school so in my budget. Well MD linked up with Jonathan Acevedo-Ali which is the experience supervisor of the store or department, which ever one. My whole point is they made it happen for me! I walked out of there with a new HP laptop computer and that would not have been possible if it wasn't for these two guys. I hope y'all see this!! A representative with a very distinctive space pattern said that she would transfer me to the home security department, but then she picked up the phone again and pretended to never have spoken with me before!!! I had an idea about which one I wanted. I was pacing in front of the monitors for at least seven minutes while three members of the staff were talking amongst themselves. No one approached me to ask if I needed help, and when I finally interrupted them to ask for help, they gave me the impression I was disturbing them. Please hire staff that understands customer service. It's not difficult. If customer service isn't your thing, don't seek employment that requires you to directly serve customers. Clear communication is so important. Went to have an item serviced and was notified that I had to make an appointment. Okay. Was told the device would need to be sent out. Scheduled appointment, went for appointment and was told that they didn't know when I would get that device back. I was then suggested that I simply go to Apple as there would be a better turn around. Went to Bestbuy as that is where I made the initial purchase. I felt like the staff gave me the run around when they could have laid out all options on my first trip. As a result I'm doing extra travels. **Long Post Alert**!! I purchased my refrigerator from Best Buy, just to save $30 (my original choice was Home Depot). However, after the HORRIBLE customer service that I received from Best Buy delivery drivers *and their "manager" a woman who happens to ride with them for drop off's*; I wish I would have spent the extra $30 at Home Depot, considering the lack of customer service from this delivery company! The team entered my home and measured my doorway opening. I was informed that my kitchen opening was 29.5 and my refrigerator was 29in. However, they would need an extra 0.5 inch "as per their policy", to bring my product inside my home. It was established that I would have to order a new fridge with a smaller width, because my kitchen opening was too "small" according to their policy. Because I had already paid for the "haul away" fee, I asked the team to remove my old refrigerator- which no longer works. One of the men used his grill gun to remove my old refrigerator hinges. He asked to use my step tool to get a better look at the top of the fridge. I directed him to my basement where he found my step stool. He then measured my main entrance doorway *which measured 36in*. He attempted to removed my front door saying "The opening is too small to fit my old refrigerator through". This was totally FALSE because my old fridge was 27in without the doors, 30in with the doors- My front door entrance measurement was 36in. Being lazy- They just didn't want to remove my old fridge- even though I paid a "haul away" fee!!!! The worker that attempted to remove my front door, he missed placed his grill gun and my father (who arrived to my house within 2 minutes of the worker misplacing his tool) was accused by him and the "delivery manager" of stealing the grill gun!!. YES stealing a drill gun! They searched my basement, kitchen, living room and dinning room. The worker finally went out to his truck and found his tool IN HIS TRUCK! This is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! Also, my father's phone was taken by the delivery team "by mistake". No they took it- holding it hostage until they found their grill gun. However, they forgot to place it back on my kitchen counter once they found their tool, and drove away with his phone. I called my dad's phone after the team left and one of the worker's answered.. My entire experience was HORRIBLE- Customer Service is the worst!! And I will never buy from Best Buy AGAIN!!!! What ever delivery company Best Buy use- they need to fired! read more

The one lady genuinely had no idea what she was doing and kept getting irritated with me because she was doing her job wrong and the other lady was just sitting on her phone scrolling and providing rude commentary. I didn't receive a receipt from the pickup and when I asked if they had a bag, the one woman on her phone said "not big enough for that," without looking up from her screen. Do plenty of research before you enter a Best Buy store. You absolutely need to know what you're doing because they won't likely know. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but I thought I'd check what went on sale this week. Many times, they have 3D versions of movies cheaper than the 2D versions. The store is big, and they have a home theater room, but not the Magnolia Home Theater area, for whatever reason. They have a massive number of TVs on the wall--and they all look like crap compared to other Best Buy locations I've seen. I usually stay clear away from Best Buy, simply because 98% of my shopping experiences have not been rewarding ones. I've begun to wonder if they train their sales people to avoid women shoppers. Frankly, it's virtually impossible to get assistance when I am by myself - which is odd because they have associates wandering all over the store. The reason I walked into the store is that I wanted to witness a demonstration of Google Nest -a smart device that allows you to attempt to speak aloud and it's function is to give you results in a video format. As a digital marketing professional, I was curious to test this item using different search queries to see if it would be worth purchasing it for my business. After searching the store for help, I saw Best Buy associate coming my way and asked for his assistance. Kendall Turner who happens to be a "Verizon Expert" went above and beyond to help with my experiment. I would have to say that I'd have no problem revisiting the Best Buy Springfield Store on Baltimore Pike to shop just as long as Mr. Turner is my sales associate. It's so refreshing to have a sales person offer an unbiased opinion and take the time to demonstrate multiple products, that one, there's no promise of sale and two isn't associated with the department he's assigned. He ignored my son and I as we stood behind the customer that he was initially helping . He then looked at the customer that just walked up and helped him before helping my son and I. I purchased a product from this store that did not work and so I planned to return it. Unfortunately, the soonest I was able to return the product fell outside of their 15 day return window so they denied the return. This is less a comment on the store so much as a criticism of the brand. When the world's leading consumer brands have focused on customer loyalty through effective customer service Best Buy is falling behind due to unusually restrictive policies such as this. Ada Transportation LLC' located on 3633 N Hereford Ln Philadelphia, PA 19114-1908 516-557-807, is a very dishonest and unprofessional company! This is a 3rd party company that is contracted with Best Buy in Springfield to make home deliveries and installations. I was supposed to get my refrigerator delivered on 2/20. I waited all day just to be told that the driver knocked on my door and called my neighbor to reach me and canceled the delivery. Totally false as I was up and awaiting their arrival since 7:30am and my neighbors do not have my number AND this driver called the night before asking could he arrive earlier than the time I was given initially. After the cancellation on their end, I had to get my delivery rescheduled for today. The driver called at 9am and stated he will be at my home at 2:00pm. He then texted me back and pushed the time to 4pm-5pm. 5:30pm came and we called the driver back to get a estimate on what time he will be at my home. He sounded like he was just getting up from a nap both times I talked to him. He pushes the time back to 6:00pm. I then asked for his manger's phone number. I called the manager, explained to him everything that transpired on 2/20 and today. He said he will reach out to the driver and give us a call back. Instead, he called Best Buy and canceled our delivery. So here we are with a second canceled delivery for no reason other than asking when could we expect our refrigerator that we paid for!! Best Buy needs to hire in house technicians that have experience with installation work or hire a reputable company because ADA TRANSPORTATION is a horrible company! Best Buy, you are to blame as well! You have no problem with placing orders and using this company, knowing their incompetence and the only thing you can offer me is a new delivery date?? Every customer service rep and manager I reached out to lacked empathy and their tone suggested that me, a paying customer was bothering them for trying to get my product and service that I paid for! Update 2/23: I went to Best Buy to get my refund. I stated the reason for my refund and the Rep tapped 2 buttons on his computer and told me when to expect it. I got a quick, I'm sorry in response as well. I asked was there a manager present and there was not one in store manager. Typical. I asked why are you contracted with this problem company and the Rep said "Thats above my pay grade, I don't ask those questions. Once merchandise leave this store, It's out of our hands". After a 10 minute wait on hold a woman answered with a very thick accent. She said she would call the store and check. WAIT A MINUTE-I CALLED THE STORE!!!! It seems that when you call the store the calls are answered off shore in another country. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Most people would consider me a "Super Techie." I don't need the folks walking the floor. Their knowledge level is almost always a joke. All I want to do is go in and grab a product that's in stock and go. For that they are OK as their prices tend to be very competitive. This is good if you don't want to wait/pay for online shipping. I would never ever ever ever buy a service contract from them or anyone else. I'd rather have a root canal first. Soooooo with the above caveats they sometimes meet my needs. A GODSEND in BestBuy mobile phone representative Dyaan help in out today in more than one way imaginable. The level of care she provided in my purchase of a screen saver made my year thus far and I cannot thank her more for her just doing her job. I misread her and her coworkers facial expression when I approached the counter with a question and revealed my misread by starting off my saying hey did I catch you all at a bad time. They assured me that I didn't and proceeded to assist me. Dyaan completed my purchase as well as the gentleman who installed the screen for my iPhone so that I could be eligible for a warranty in the event I break the new screen saver like I did with the previous one. Once the transaction was done, Dyaan over heard me talking out loud to myself that I could have done this with my first purchase. She asked if I purchased the first screen protector their and I told her yes. She tried looking up the transaction but could not find it. So Dyaan recommended that I go to the store customer service counter to have the receipt information looked up. If the receipt is discovered then return to the mobile phone section for a return of funds used for todays purchase... CS managed to locate the receipt and Dyaan completed the refund transaction which saved me some money in todays Best Buy.... So their Geek Squad service is what I will concentrate on. First off, if you have an appointment, you'll still wait. But take my advice. Have an appointment. Because they do prioritize them. If you don't have one you'll really get frustrated. They're pretty terrible at managing incoming service requests. Though once you finally get service, they're quite nice. It seems like they take forever to actually process you. I needed a data transfer off of a dying computer. They quoted 3-5 days. They got it done in 7. (I haven't checked the quality of work yet, I'll update this if it fails.) I asked what brand of hard drive they give you back on a data transfer. It costs $150 to do on larger jobs, so I wanted to know if I got a decent brand back. They told me Seagate. That's a decent brand. The drive I actually got back was Toshiba. It may be a decent drive in the end, but it's a cheaper brand. So for my money, I got to wait two extra days and get jobbed on the parts. Go next door to a real computer repair service. read more

Another drop in the bucket Best Buy location. Being from NY, the Best Buys around me range from putrid to just ok. While not totally putrid, this location isn't exactly ok either. I was just visiting the area and looking for some Blu-Rays/DVDs, decided to come here since it was the only Best Buy in the immediate area that I knew of. Coming inside, this was a pretty good sized Best Buy.......and then I came upon the movies area and it went down hill from there. Suffering from the Circuit City disease, the DVDs/Blu Rays area was in shambles with most things out of place, out of stock, and just a mess. If there was a title you're looking for, good luck. The pricing stickers as opposed to the sale price of course was not accurate, but that's all Best Buys and their inability to keep things running efficiently (it all starts with their inferior website and trickles down to the stores). As usual, Best Buy is no longer the "best buy" with their higher prices on items. I happened to find a few titles (barely) without any help from their drone-like employees among the mess. One title was actually alone in the wrong section and it was just blind luck I was able to find it. Store appearance and maintaining stock is not a priority anymore in a lot of Best Buys it seems and this place was no exception. I walked past the cds and games before making my way out, without going anywhere else inside (so no comments on the appliances or anything else). The cashier was fine and rang me out quickly. Really this location has the same problems most Best Buys I go to in NY have, so there's nothing new here. I have been to better locations, so I'm not upset I won't be returning to this one again. It's a shame too, because on the outside this location does look better than the ones I live near - but for Best Buy it all starts with the corporation and front offices. Instead of whining and complaining about lack of sales and whatnot, take a look at your entire structure - because it's failing. Just because Circuit City went under, doesn't mean you can't go under as well. Best Buy used to be a great "buy" and a favorite store to visit....in any location. Now it's more a hassle and shopping online(and I don't mean their website either) is pretty much a better alternative. If you come here, you know what to expect. Based on the ones I've been to, not the worst location......but certainly not the best either.
