I regret buying my refrigerator from Gerhardt's. Its been nothing but frustrating from day one. It was delivered with a broken ice maker and I was told that the refrigerator would be replaced if it was still broken when I returned back from my winter home. The saleswomen now deny's saying that and shame on me for not getting it in writing. They ordered a new ice maker instead and the repairman came out without the ice maker...another missed day of work! The second technician installed the ice maker two days ago and AGAIN no ice! I called and was told they need permission from the manufacturer to replace the refrigerator. They seem to care more about the manufacturer than their customers. They should be screaming at the manufacturer instead of asking permission. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable kitchen appliance. read more

Had an issue with a faulty dryer. Spoke with customer service and was told it takes up to 4 hours to dry clothes. Not sure what planet they live on where this makes sense. Save yourself time and aggravation. For quicker drying times I recommend a clothesline. read more

Their installation team was terrible and unprofessional. Here's why: They damaged the counter top section directly above the ice maker they installed...the counter top is now loose. We now have a leak in our crawl space via the ice maker drainage tub. We bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher because we couldn't get a Bosch at the time. Price: $999. and $169 for a five year warranty. Tonight we tried to start a claim for some defects. We were on the phone for 45" while the representative asked numerous questions and put us on hold each time. Finally, we are to take pictures of the problem, including video so, " we can send you the parts for the technician." All of this so they don't have to have the tech do the diagnosis and then fix it. I've dealt with other dealers who have excellent warranties and they call service and it's done. This is Allstate and I would never do business with them nor with Gerhards again. They told me the final price of the oven so I went with them since they were the same price as Lowe's. However, when it was delivered the salesman conveniently forgot to charge me for installation and removal of the old stove as we had discussed in the store. It was an additional $238. I would've saved $200 by going to Lowe's. Had I known their charge was $238 I would've just gone to Lowe's. I feel like they knew this and they did this on purpose. This is completely unacceptable for a product sold as new. I recently purchased 11 new appliances from Gerhard's. I spent more than $60,000 with them. I was very excited to get my new appliances, but my excitement turned to disappointment when the delivery and installation process was a complete disaster. All but 2 were either improperly instilled or damaged by their delivery team. The first problem was that they could never tell me when my appliances would arrive. Every time that I called, I was given a totally different answer. Then I was told that all of my appliances had to be delivered by them at one time and that they could not deliver them to me as they received them. This happened for months. It got to the point that Gerhard's would not even return my phone calls. Then I found out from the manufacturer that Gerhard's had never placed an order with them in the first place. Here are some of the things that happened. When the appliances finally arrived, the delivery guys damaged my refrigerator and freezer so badly that they both had to be completely replaced by the manufacturer. They never fastened my refrigerator drawers to the ground, so they damaged my floors and caused the unit to tip. My ice maker was not installed correctly, so water drained all over my floor and caused my downstairs ceiling to be be replaced. They delivered the wrong size under-counter refrigerator and tried to charge me a restocking fee to exchange it for the correct one. It literally took months of fighting with them to get the appliances delivered and 6-8 months of working with the manufacturer to fix Gerhard's mistakes. I would not recommend Gerhard's to anyone. The delivery and installation process was a complete disaster, and I feel like I was treated like an afterthought. I will never shop at Gerhard's again. We live in the Philadelphia area...There are many other shopping options. Advice: If you are considering buying appliances from Gerhard's, I would strongly advise you to reconsider. I had a very negative experience with this store, and I would not want anyone else to go through the same thing. I would recommend that you shop at a different appliance store that has a better reputation for customer service. Wow. I called Thermador/Bosch directly (another issue with the fridge) and they told me they issued a dealer credit to Gerhards in June to replace our fridge. While it is unfortunate that it took a scurrilous and public complaint to resolve a rough experience, Gerhards stood up and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I appreciate the attention the business gave this matter once it was reviewed by staff outside the location where everything occurred. Stay Away! I purchased a Maytag Dryer from a rather nice sales rep. The dryer was equipped with an "auto dry" feature and 70 minute max cycle. It seemed like sufficient settings to dry the clothes for a family of four. The MINUTE my payment went through another sales rep walked up and stated, "I would never sell anyone a Maytag." Worried, I asked my sales rep if I would be OK. He said it was a good dryer and he has sold many of them with no complaints. We had the dryer for three weeks and, depending on the setting, the dryer was randomly shutting off and on or not able to stay on long enough to dry our clothes. After exhausting every setting possible I reached out to Gerhard's to ask about replacing with a functional dryer. The Ardmore Store Manager told me that my problem was with Maytag, and I had to deal directly with them since they were under no obligation to take a return after seven days (not 30 days). I am absolutely disgusted by how I was treated from the minute Gerhard's processed my payment. Do yourself a favor, buy from DK Appliances, not this flim-flam operation. read more

I attempted to purchase an oven and microwave and had a terrible customer experience, so I highly recommend going elsewhere. I provided my sales rep with both model numbers and stated multiple times stated I needed both items by Friday. She guaranteed they could accommodate that schedule, and scheduled my delivery for Friday after requiring that I paid in advance for both items. First thing the next day I receive a call stating they can't deliver Friday and would have to reschedule for a week later, the excuse, they don't have any trucks running on Easter Sunday. Keep in mind, Easter was two days AFTER I was supposed to receive the items I had paid for. I asked to be called by my sales person to receive more clarity on the obvious lie they told, then waited 5 hours without getting a call. After I called back, I spoke to the sales person and she again said, we won't have the items because of Easter Sunday, when I questioned that Easter was two days AFTER the originally scheduled delivery date she mumbled something sheepishly (rather than apologizing for being caught in a stupid lie). No apology for my inconvenience nor did they make any attempt to make the situation right. If you're ok with terrible and incompetent customer service this is the vendor for you! read more

Run from this place. When the appliances were delivered, the delivery service damaged our hardwood floors. Gerhard's sold us a pricey service plan. The plan is useless. The refrigerator and dishwasher frequently need service. You must call Pakistan and hold for 1 hour while Allstate subcontractors make you diagnose and attempt to fix yourself any problems. You must hold for long periods while they jerk you around, but finally decide to give you an "exception" and sent a creepy guy to look at your appliances. Real horror show. read more

The delivery men were extraordinary and went above and beyond the call of duty. I am "over the moon" with my new appliance, which I saw on line but was unable to see in store. It is beautiful and suits my needs perfectly. This is my second purchase with Gerhard's Ardmore store and they continue to amaze me with their sales team, and flawless delivery service. In June 2024 we had three appliances purchased from Gerhard's delivered to our home. One of the appliances was an electric range (we were converting from a gas range). The day after the delivery and installation of the range by Gerhard's we noticed a gas odor and called PECO immediately. When the PECO rep arrived he had to move the range to get access to the rear where the gas line was located and he found that there was gas leaking. He thought the installers were negligent in not checking that the gas line was completely shut off. Due to the emergent situation in having to move the range quickly, our new hardwood floor was damaged. We appealed to Gerhard's, but after weeks of hearing nothing we received a denial of our claim for our damaged floor. They said that since the damage was not caused by their installer they weren't liable. Obviously, since there was a gas leak, there was no way we could have waited for the installer (who were not Gerhard's employees but subcontractors). The stove HAD to be moved immediately. We re-appealed but have heard nothing from Gerhard's. As long-time Gerhard's customers, we are very angry that they have basically walked away from their responsibility and we won't be using them again and will advise others to avoid using them. We'd also caution anyone using Gerhard's to be aware that they subcontract installations and apparently have no oversight in how appliances are installed. In this instance we could have had a fire or explosion in our kitchen because the installers failed to insure that the gas line was no longer operating. Gerhard s was not even apologetic about the sloppiness/irresponsibilty of the installers and had no reaction to the danger that could have occurred. Buyers beware! read more

Total nightmare for a $2000+ refrigerator purchased and delivered in December. Three months later unit stopped working. April-May, 5 techs sent out and still not functioning. Over $200 dollars of food spoiled. As a "courtesy" they finally agreed to send out a loaner that did not fit and took up 3 quarters of my kitchen (After a month, the loaner was agreed ONLY because I have medication that needs to be refrigerated). Offered and insisted I accept a replacement that was not my initial color or any color to match my other appliances. When I said I needed same color, they said I would have to wait weeks. All along the way, non responsive and nasty as if it is the consumer's fault. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Did a lot of shopping for a washer, dryer and refrigerator for the new townhouse. I knew Gerhard's had the brands I was interested in and had a good reputation. We were treated well and shown the items we looked at ahead of time plus some other options to consider. We wound up going with the washer and dryer we originally planned but went with an upgraded refrigerator once we were shown the features and reliability status of that one. I did not do my research and just went off of a google search. I tried to purchase a downdraft. A specialist needs to come and take measurements. He only works Tuesdays. First, they requested early morning or late afternoon as I can't take the day off but work nearby. Got a text message (no phone call like sales said) that he is coming between 9-1. I was VERBALLY ASSAULTED by a Gerhard's delivery person. The delivery man already came in very aggressive and argumentative. He would ask me questions then cut me short when I tried to answer. I stayed off to the side while my delivery was being made, however, when I saw him throwing trash in random directions on my property I asked him "Are you taking the trash with you when you leave?" From my one question, I was called different names, cursed at, and mocked in my own home. I was called "weird ass" "cry baby" and he made fun of my voice as I tried to speak. He yelled across to his partner in my home "hey make sure you pick up your trash, we don't want her crying in here". He continued saying many different disrespectful statements to me. His partner apologized profusely for his actions. When I reached out to management and explained what just happened I was told a manager was not available and I received a call back about 3 hours later. I explained the incident again to the manager of delivery and was met with very low affect. I'm not sure if they were not surprised or they just didn't care. After explaining the situation I was told that the delivery fee would be waived. As if $50 would fix how unsafe and disrespected I felt in my own home. I even had to ask "are you at least going to talk to him?" to which he replied "oh yeah, we'll talk to him". I never received the delivery refund. I paid money to be verbally assaulted in my own home. As a single woman, I was terrified to stay in my own home that night and days after. I even second guessed writing this post in fear of retaliation. But I don't want anyone to feel how I felt. I considered posting the footage from my Ring camera on social media but I don't want to continue reliving this horrible incident. I feel defeated, unsafe, and disrespected. read more

Gerhard's did a great job, on many levels. 1. Ordering was easy. I combined browsing their web-site with talking to a customer representative, and found an appliance that suited me and fit my budget. I have purchased previously, and was happy to realize my name, # and delivery address were on file. Even better, I thought I recognized the voice on the phone and confirmed it was indeed BRIANNA (sp?), who had been helpful in the past and was again. I believe it says something good about a company, when even the phone service people stay on for several years. Bonus, Brianna input the price at the New YEAR's sales level which was 35% less than what was showing on the Web-site. 2. The delivery was coordinated. I was given a 4-hour window, sent a reminder, and updated with a 30-minte and 10-minute arrival time. 3. The Delivery men were strong, professional and courteous. I had a very poor experience with Gerhards that started when my new GE refrigerator would stop working on and off for three months. After many service visits, emails, and phone calls, it took 3 months for Gerhards to replace the refrigerator. All of my emails and phone calls were not returned and it resulted in additional money out of my own pocket for lost food and a temporary refrigerator I had to purchase. Gerhards service team would visit my home, say it is fixed, and the issue would resurface within a week. I eventually received a replacement but am disappointed that it took me three months without having a working refrigerator. I sent emails to their customer service email and left messages at the store for the manager to call me back with no luck. The LG Washing Machine was very highly rated by Consumer Reports and Rebecca, our salesperson, was very helpful as we selected the model we wanted. We found the price of the model selected to be very competitive with other stores in the area. Our machine was delivered several days later and was installed by Carlos and his brother in a very efficient and professional manner. I had removed the door to the laundry room to facilitate the installation and Carlos graciously put the door back on its hinges for us. The machine works very well. As an example I had a property that needed a refrigerator and we had a major time crunch because the property was being staged. Pete not only helped identify multiple solutions but was also able to have the refrigerator delivered within days. Pete and his team are always quick to respond and do so in a professional manner. The prices can't be beat and we have price shopped them many times. At this point we won't do business anywhere else. Their service is second to none and in this business that's hard to find. Do not buy high end appliances here! I bought a floor model wolf warming drawer and they charged me more than $100 for installation and told me I was going to have to pay an additional $200 since they had to cut the cabinet. The men delivered it and dropped it on my floor and said they were not going to cut any cabinet despite the salesperson telling me "don't worry we do it all the time". Thank God there was a certified wolf team installing my wolf double ovens at the same time (Thank God I didn't buy them at Gerhards! I almost did!). They took over where the Gerhards team left, and installed the drawer. Not only that but the drawer was assembeled improperly and they had to take it apart and use parts from their truck to fix it! I had to pay them $300 and I gave them an extra $50 for being so kind and helpful. They couldn't even believe the poor service of Gerhards! The Gerhards team told me I would not be charged for installation. I have been in touch with the store no less than 4 times in the past 4 weeks since it was installed and they have not refunded me the installation charge. ALSO I LEARNED FROM WOLF/SUBZERO THAT GERHARDS DOES NOT HAVE CERTIFIED INSTALLERS. THE STORE TELLS YOU THAT YOU GET A TWO YEAR WARRENTY BUT YOU ONLY GET THAT IF YOU HAVE A WOLF CERTIFIED INSTALLER.
