Contacted Dolan Appliance Service about repairing my dryer which suddenly failed to start. I had already ruled out a number of the possible problems. I was ultimately told to buy a new dryer by a so-called tech who had not even been out to diagnose the appliance. The problem turned out to be the timer switch, a 5 minute fix and a $60 part. Even with labor, Dolan could have saved a less technically inclined person a few hundred dollars versus buying a new dryer. If you aren't willing to at least make the minimal effort, why are you in business? In short, call anyone else if you actually want service. read more

Promptly responded to my call; scheduled appointment within two days; parts for a 10 year old cooktop arrived in less than 2 weeks and were installed within a day of notification; final price was 20% lower than estimate. The technician was outstanding! Would be happy to use them again. read more

We have an old Sub-Zero fridge that was beginning to frost up and the ice make needed constant attention to break icicles off the top. Also, ice would clump together into huge hunks that needed to be tossed. They took awhile to respond, but the tech who showed up did what he could, and it fixed the frosting on the rear wall. It took several weeks to order the part for the ice maker, but once they received it, they were very flexible about showing up for the installation. The repairman was very respectful, wore a mask, and was finished the install in 30 minutes. The icemaker now works like a champ, and we're thrilled. The PART was expensive (hey.. it's Sub-Zero) but labor was very reasonable. Very few appliance places even want to touch 40-year-old high-end appliances. I heartily recommend them. read more

My refrigerator was leaking, and they sent their technician Ray over. He did a great job - was very experienced, professional, and friendly. He showed me that a large chunk of ice had formed where I could not see it, which was preventing the door from closing all the way. This ice let moist air in, which lead to a larger ice chunk, etc. He solved the problem very quickly and cost effectively. I would recommend this service to anyone needing an appliance repair! read more

There was another review that mentioned getting a second opinion and saving themselves a $1000+ repair. I had the same experience. My induction cooktop just needed recalibrated, but I was lead to believe that would not work and I would be out $$$. I called Fast Appliance repair for a second opinion, and it was fixed in one visit. Dolans cost me $165, and a couple months of no cooktop. I feel like they didn't know much about my specific induction cooktop. The guy seemed knowledgeable about induction, was very nice, and to be factual the error codes were not going off for him. But after watching my second service call it seems reasonable that he should have used that time he spent talking to me on researching my cooktop and recalibration. Our washing machine started leaking so I called Dolan's Appliance repair in Ardmore. I told them it's a top loader about 5 years old. They said repairs start at $125 to get a truck out here, and this repair would be $300 if the motor leaked, or $450 if the tank leaked -- as they would have to pull the entire machine apart to repair it. The technician then said the life of today's washing machine is about 5 to 7 years, and since the cost of the repair might be 2/3's of the cost of a new one, it was a maybe-yes, maybe-no for the repair to pay off. I told them while they probably talked themselves out of a repair job, I certainly appreciate their honesty. It's assuredly great to have a firm you can trust when considering an appliance repair. Be carful using this company. One of their service techs incorrectly diagnosed my Viking range and proceeded to give me an estimate for $2500 for unnecessary repairs. I trusted my intuition and called BOB's Appliance Service (gold rating w Viking) and they just recently completed the same job for $220. In other-words Dolans is not an honorable or reliable company!! read more

Needed repair on a Bosch dishwasher.  Called and got an appointment for the next day.  The tech called when he was on his way and he was a pro!  Understand that I was interested in what was wrong and how he would fix it so actually watched and talked to him while he worked.  I did not want to bother the guy but he was great in explaining and did not seem to be bothered by my interest.  At least he pretended he was not bothered - which is all that matters.  I was very pleased with the service from my first call in to the completion of the job.  Would use again and highly recommend Dolan's...they are good people! read more

Dolan's is the best appliance service company in the area. All the technicians are extremely educated, professional, and efficient. I have used them for years and continuously impressed with their work. A few months ago I had an issue with my Bosch dishwasher and they came out within the week which is very quick! They explained exactly what was wrong and how they were going to fix it while charging a very reasonable price! I have and will continue to recommend DAS! read more

At first, I was hesitant about using Nolan Appliance as I saw several mediocre reviews. I am now glad that I contacted them for repair of my dishwasher. The technician Mark was on time, curious, and professional. The problem with the dishwasher was difficult to diagnose, but both Mark and the owner of the company got involved until it was fixed. I really believe most other appliance repair organizations would have given up and told me I needed a new dishwasher. But not Nolan, they stepped up and acted as my advocate, which most companies today don't take the time to do. Thank you Mark and thank you Nolan Appliance for a job well done. read more

We were charged $125 for a service call - no fix. This seems exorbitant - most appliance repair services seem to charge $60-$80. Sears, for instance, charges $69 if you choose not to go with their appliance repair service after getting an estimate. I will not be calling Dolan again. read more

I'm a tough customer. I'm short on time and have high expectations. Dolan's Appliance Service exceeded all my expectations for a service firm. They performed the work as promised at a reasonable cost. They were punctual, presentable, and friendly. I wish they'd expand their business into other trades because finding good people is not easy. read more

Fantastic customer service and knowledgeable repairmen. I will be using them again and would definitely recommend them. We had a strange inexplicable issue with our brand new Bosch convection oven that our contractor couldn't fix. They came out and saved us. Very polite and prompt as well. read more

I called Dolan's Appliance Service because my Viking refrigerator wasn't cooling and the "too warm" light was on. This refrigerator came with my house. I called a few local places and many wouldn't even touch the Viking brand. Dolans not only services Viking but they were able to bring up my refrigerator in their system and knew exactly what the issue was. They worked with Viking to get the part needed. When the service tech came to my house, I believe his name was Andy, he was friendly and outgoing. He didn't mind my two large dogs (in fact I think he pretty much fell in love with them), he was professional, clean and quick. I would most certainly recommend Dolans Appliance Service, especially if you are looking for professional, friendly, and quick service. The price in my opinion was right inline with other places I called, but letting someone into your home can be a little nerve racking and I'm so pleased I chose Dolans and I would call them again for any of my appliance issues (let's hope I don't have many more!) read more

Terrible customer service! A representative came out to the house and clearly didn't want to repair the appliance. They get back to me over a week later with a price that's outlandish and subsequently bill me for the visit. I called and told the representative on the phone what happened and that I wouldn't be paying and she threatened me with court, told me I was receiving a discount on the visit and hung up the phone!!! We've used them for years, but the fix never lasts more than 1 year. I need another fix. The last fix cost more than $500 with the technician telling me that it's set and it should give me years of service. Well one year later it is out of service again. I phoned them to have them out again, and they informed me that parts might be warranted for 1 year and service is warranted for 30 days. The same thing keeps happening.....and I'm losing patience & money. They gave me Thermador's help line.....but when I phoned them I also needed my Model # which Dolan's didn't give me.....only the Help Line number. I have an appointment for them to come out, but I'm really leery about spending more money with these people. read more

Terrible customer service and inflexible. The woman who over the phone has less personality than a kitchen drawer with about the same care for customer satisfaction and building customer loyalty. Disappointing and poor representation because repairman was knowledgeable and seemed nice enough when he arrived. Hard to believe it is family run. I called elsewhere to service our needs. read more
