Definitely a two star rating for this store. Besides the fact that they have construction going on in front of the store and it's a maze to get into the store, one department knows nothing about the other department. I called and spoke to someone in the appliance department yesterday and told him that I wanted to buy appliances ( a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave and a dishwasher). I informed him that the apartment is currently under construction and will not be ready for the appliances for another week or so but I don't want to miss out on the sale prices I found online. He informed me that I could come in and put down a deposit down or purchase the items and have it delivered when I was ready to receive them. I walked into Best Buy today to do exactly that however no one knew what I was talking about. The first guy referred me to customer service but at least he was pleasant. I then go to customer service and the girl at that desk appeared as if I was disturbing her. After her half hearted greeting she told me she didn't know what I was talking about either and that I should go to the appliance section to speak with someone there. There were two gentlemen handling one customer but when one of them walked away from that situation I asked if he would be able to help me. He was very helpful however he did not work in appliances so I told him I'd just wait for the person that works in appliances. Another gentleman came over but he was also assisting a customer but took the time to greet me and told me he'd be with me but after waiting for about 20 minutes I decided to take my business elsewhere. I don't mind waiting and that wasn't the issue but it would have been great if the two people I approached in the beginning would have asked someone in appliances or a manager instead of telling me they didn't know what I was talking about or telling me "we don't do that" without first checking with someone who actually knows. Worst Best Buy location I've been to. Went there for a laptop and I knew the exact model I wanted but had to wait 30 minutes for someone to bring it to me. Employees are very slow. Would not recommend this location if you don't know what you need. read more

Do not purchase insurance for any device they have there it's a scam! Bought a plan for my iPhone and had it replaced 5 times and each time the one they sent was broken! Now they will not do anything else for me ! Don't waste your money! read more

I'm not a Technosexual so I don't buy the latest gadgets and I don't blow my money away by buying a new flat screen TV every five years or switch my phone for newest update. Best Buy use to be the place where I could buy DVDs, but now since they shorten their isles and now most of their shelves/racks consist of Blu-rays and mostly new releases or indies. So now I have to look elsewhere to buy DVDs. read more

This review is in regards to home repairs to my computer/ tv only. I have purchased multiple items and plans with Best Buy in Kingston, NY. Their repair department employees have been, at best, rude- consistently. I will wait any amount of time to get Chad out from Poughkeepsie for repairs instead. He is polite, concerned about getting things working right, and remarkably skilled. Best Buy doesn't deserve him, and whatever they pay him, it's not enough. Giving this business even one star is a joke. Best Buy is the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. After purchasing a gift online, I tried returning the item to my local Best Buy store, as indicated on their website return policy as acceptable. The employees there told me they don't carry the item in their store so I am unable to return it to them. I am beyond the return policy which I understand for getting money back. That's not what I'm looking to do. The person I purchased the item for wants something else from Best Buy (which I will now discourage every person I know not to buy from), and I am simply looking for a store credit. The money is being spent in their store no matter what. After speaking with someone in the corporate office, and then with a supervisor, I'm still told there's nothing I can do and the supervisor "Pat" suggested I "sell the item on eBay"- which is absolutely unacceptable and completely none of her business. I'm totally dissatisfied with the customer service department as well as Best Buy as a whole, and will no longer be shopping there. I'm also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Quite possibly the worst customer service. Recently bought at TV and got a six week run around about price matching it. Finally got it resolved today by a manager and while I'm thankful this mess is finally over, it was still a 20 minute experience with no apology, sympathy or a hint of friendliness. I have had difficulties price matching items on at least 5 different occasions over the last year. Unfortunately it's one of the only stores for certain items in this area but I will certainly be doing more online shopping to avoid Best Buy...AKA Worst Lie. read more

This is probably the worst best buy I have been too. I have been to many and in different states but this one is by far the worst. The associates do not have any knowledge of the majority of their merchandise, they literally just read what's on the back (I could do that). Me and my wife were moving into our new apt recently and decided to get a new tv so we went to this best buy and they had a good sale. Worst decision I have ever made and still regret it, the associate brought out the tv with a rip in the box so he taped it up with the best buy tape. No biggie right, WRONG! Me and my wife ended up losing the lease so we didn't have need for this "new" tv so we decided to return it. It was after the 30 day store warranty so I would have been fine with store credit. They gave us a hard time returning it but eventually decided to open the box and check it out. They plugged the tv in and the screen was cracked! Automatically they said we aren't taking it back. Me and my wife disputed this but they did not want to refund our money. The Poughkeepsie best buy sold us a damaged product and did not want to give us any type of compensation. We took out broken tv and called corporate and have yet to get any response. read more

Great selection of products, but make sure you know exactly what you need and what it looks like before you go in and ask the sales people for help. I've been sold the wrong product for my computer at least 4 times. Each time I told the sales person my exact computer specifications and was still sold the wrong product. Total waste to have to drive up and down South Road to return products, which is why I don't shop there unless I know exactly what I am looking for. If you know what you want than by all means shop at Best Buy, however, DO NOT buy any type of services from them. I had the store jnstall anti virus software for my father's computer 2 years ago and he continues to get calls about buying more crap, repeated complaints to their corporate HQ don't work. I should have known when my mother said she had issues with receiving appliances from here, but I always used the best buy in Albany and never had problems. Well my oven and dishwasher made it, but my over the range microwave never did. The first one I received was clearly a return with an opened box and scratches all over the front. They then said they had a new one at the store. So we drove all the way down there and that too was a return. So try number three it was never delivered and when I called about the order they said the system never even processed it! Never going back there again!! read more

I walked into Best Buy because I was doing a kitchen renovation with Lowe's and wanted to see more choices in appliances and BB is the place to go. I was like a kid in a candy strore, ogling over the Wolfe, Thermador, Jenn-Air and all of the GE, Maytag, Samsung and every model in between. I wasn't bothered but was helped right away when I had a question. I was able to have the representative print out the products I was interested in and was going to go back to Lowe's for a price match. The reason for this is I am working with Lowe's and their contractors for the install and didn't want to void my warranty or something by having it installed by competition. I then went over to TV's and spent $2,800.00 on a 65" SONY with all the bells and whistles you can ever imagine. My friend said it was wasting my money to buy the 4K or 4G because the technology will change so rapidly. I had a good sales person that really explained all the features, don't remember but it sounded good, and didn't leave me until I had everything I needed to set up the entertainment center. I will be placing this puppy right on the wall-with Geek Squad handling the install. It was a great night and honestly, I am far from a rich or entitled person, but I felt like what it must be like for a rich person to walk into a store and just take whatever the want. i had lost my iphone 8s and went into the best buy at the gallaria ... my account was evaluated real quick and i was told of my options ... i selected tp purchase an identical phone to the one i just lost and in about 30 minutes my new phone was on my hand and functional ... at that point i ask the representative to use the function of "locate my iphone ... baaaam ... my lost phone was located ..... double baaaam ... at that point the lady told me i have 30 dyas to return the new phone for a full refund except $ 35.00 fees! i thanked her and told her i will give my old phone to one of my younger relatives. so i got a new phone and located my old one in 30-45 minuts ... amazing ... amazing ... amazzzzzing! read more

Purchased an 80" Sharp TV for delivery yesterday, a small amount of snow forced them to cancel, when they clearly could have made the delivery. Now when trying to contact them for a rescheduled date, we have been tossed back and forth between main customer service and the stores in Danbury CT (where we made the purchase) and Poukeepsie, NY. They took the money that night, still don't have a TV - never again!!!! read more

Completely disappointed and disgusted with the service received by the sales associates at this Best Buy location as me myself a former Best Buy employee I walked into the store on the night of my girlfriend birthday to Buy a Apple MacBook Air which they didn't have in stock so I decided to get the MacBook Pro after help from the associate helping me and my girlfriend after browsing the store for cases and sleeves to only find nothing because of the small selection in the store before we could make our purchase we get approached two LP associates in the store ACCUSING me and my girlfriend of stealing a $50 Kate Spade sleeve and demanded my girlfriend to open her purse I felt honestly disrespected and embarrassed on how they approached and accused us of stealing and was ready to leave the store, after they search her bag to find nothing we left immediately and didn't even make the purchase and went to Apple instead to deal with real customer service reps and employees. Worst customer experience ever. I bought an HP Pavillian laptop from this store two days ago. The sales girl was extremely rude. I went in for a specific product that was on sale. Because I wouldn't upgrade to a more expensive laptop she brought me over to the register and was extremely snotty. Also turning down their Microsoft Office program, she implied to her coworker that I was lying about the fact that I get Microsoft Office included with my school loan, her extremely rude coworker stated, "no one gets Office free with school." Overall I was really disappointed in my experience at this store. Not because of the product, but because their sales staff is absolutely horrible! They were so rude, I've never seen a sales staff act so blatently disrespectful and rude. They acted as if I didn't know anything about computers. Terrible customer service experience! I won't go back to that store anytime soon! If I wasn't in such a hurry I would of found the manager and made a complaint. Totally unnecessary!
