If they say you need to replace a part of your compiuter that is broken you're better off ordering that part on your own. Not only it will be cheaper than they say it is but also its going to be the original part and not a cheaper version of it or even a part from a different brand compiuter. read more

I came into the shop with a custom built gaming PC that wasn't booting up properly. David diligently listened to my complaint then took a look inside and discovered a number of hardware issues. They may have not been directly related to the startup problem but they were definitely making the computer run less efficiently. David clearly explained what can be improved upon and prepared very reasonable recommendations. Four days later, the computer was finished and running perfectly. The entire job cost me a little over $400 and it was money well worth spent. These guys are pros for sure. They even have a do-it-yourself workshop you can rent or an hourly rate for more one on one technical assistance. The store's location is also a plus...it's located in an interesting part of Kingston where there are a ton of esoteric shops and farmer's market during the warmer months. Windows 10 kept crashing, I tried a system restore, which worked for a short while. Then my laptop wouldn't boot up at all. I tried Windows 10 system restore disk which brought the computer up but it still would not allow a Windows update or Norton Antivirus to install. Looked up computer help online and saw the good reviews for Brainstorming. Talked to David over the phone, he listened to my issues and told me what he would do to try to fix it and the cost. Checked out my SSD drive, no errors, reloaded up a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro, made sure Windows update ran, installed Norton Antivirus and did this in a 2 day turnaround at the cost he estimated. Don't hesitate. I came in on the weekend with with my MacPro laptop, which had experienced a sudden and debilitating breakdown. David was like a good doctor. He asked me questions about how I used it, what exactly happened. He listened and sometimes asked again. I went home that day with a working laptop. The fix wasn't complicated but I guarantee if I had taken it to a Apple store "Genius bar" I would not have gotten a working computer back in less than a day and probably not in a week. These guys are great! My MacBook Pro had a quick, but near-deadly encounter with a leaking bottle of water and stopped working without the use of a power cord or a mouse, as the touchpad no longer worked. Took it to the Apple Store, where I was told that they would have to send it out for a complete rebuild at a cost of $750. Decided that it wasn't worth the investment, and that I would continue to use the computer as is (with power cord and mouse) until I found a new one on sale. After reading online reviews, I also decided to bring it into Brainstorm for a second opinion. After opening the back, David told me that he would be able to clean it up and replace the battery and touch pad for a fraction of the cost of the Apple repair. Not only was their price very reasonable, but after the parts arrived, I brought the computer to their store in the morning and had it back by the afternoon. And, it's working beautifully.
