A disappointing experience every time. Getting an employee to even acknowledge you is difficult. I made the mistaking of purchasing the screen protector plan, where they'll change your screen protector if it breaks, granted you pay quite a bit of money for this plan. They tend to act like it's an inconvenience. Today I was at the counter waiting, then another person came up, they helped him before they helped me. Anyways I kindly asked for a time estimate and they told me "an undisclosed amount of time", what! I left. I think that's the plan, sell the plan and then don't help when they return. read more

I placed an order online and paid for it at that time. About an hour and a half later, i arrived at the store and the order was not there. They didn't fill the order or even offer any solutions when I showed them my receipt and I still had the order up in a web browser. I won't be back. Made an appointment to see an Apple tech about getting my screen repaired. Showed for my scheduled appointment only to be told that the tech didn't show and I would have to reschedule. I asked them why they couldn't call to tell me and they said it's there policy not to. Came in on a Friday with the intention of buying a specific computer that was priced at $1300.00 get sold a computer that's completely a different model. Mind you I live 45 minutes away, had to come back Monday, after returning the computer that was a different model I had to pay an additional $160.00 + for the computer that I thought I had bought on Friday. Never going back to this bestbuy or any other Best Buy again. They lost a life long customer today. Nobody there knows what they are talking about. I bought an X-box package, which is supposed to have free online trials, and the customer service told me I had to activate it over the internet. They clearly didn't know what they were talking about and bullshitted me to get me to leave. Needless to say, the information they gave me was nonsense, and I had to activate the trial, in the store, at the time of purchase, and ultimately lost the free items I was trying to take advantage of by purchasing the product. A lot of chain stores are pretty much "if you've you've been to one, you've been to them all." I guess this Best Buy location holds that to be pretty true. I have never had an issue at this Best Buy, the staff has always been helpful and decently knowledgeable on their merchandise. I think the floors look kind of dingy, but thats just my OCD, haha. Avoid Best Buy around Christmas though. My god, it gets scary. read more

My wife and I came in here today to upgrade her to a new Sprint galaxy S5 phone. Though we did have to wait for just a bit we were greeted by a very nice young man who was being trained for a job in the mobile department and his trainer Luke. Luke is a great guy and full of humor and great information to keep you engaged and while doing that working on the computer, giving information to the young man he was training and answering the questions of people who would come up, all without missing a beat and not becoming rattled in the least. Personally he shouldn't have had to go to that level, folks at the front door should have been able to field some of those questions or some of the other employees mulling about could have also, but Luke was more than happy too Also Luke got all of my wife's information transferred over to her S5 to which I am now jealous of her phone because it's bigger than mine, nicer and faster. We go to Best Buy Mobile to get our new phones when we upgrade, because corporate Sprint stores don't care, their attitude is here's your phone, here's your number and this is how much and oh do you want us to transfer the information for you ..at best buy it's a given that they should without being asked. I dealt with trying to buy a laptop computer from this company online, Lee's Summit store was out of what wanted, tried this store 10/16/14, talked to really nice man who said they were out of it also but would have some in that night, and have them for sale Friday. I had arranged pickup at LS store on Chipman, by daughter, had been told 4 would be there and she could pick it up. Got text message saying it was ready on her phone, so she went to pick it up...no, it was IN the store but not in their system, until 10/21 she couldn't pick it up? Canceled that order after getting nowhere with LS store...and tried at 8:15 to call this Independence store. For 45 minutes, kept getting told how valuable I was to them, and how I had 1 person before me...and then would get cut off. Call back and same thing happened. Decided to see just how long it would take to get a real person. At 9pm, I gave up. I was deliberately hung up on 3 or 4 times...you could hear them connect to the call and then it phone hang up. Never got a real person. Doubt they were busy, they just didn't want to deal with anyone. So their poor customer service cost them 500 last night...and since I also am needing a desktop for myself, there is another 600 or so, as well as I am wanting a laptop too..potentially another 600. Went to Office Depot...called their 24 hour customer service...and ordered it last night, and it is in the store ready for her to pick up. read more

Looks like this store has had issues before. My visit was awesome. Tax free weekend. Crazy busy. So cell phones. Tablets. And I have a phone issue where I needed to train in. I'm a huge pain in the but. Everything breaks. But the two mobile guys that helped me were patient really helpful and knew there stuff. I area ate there honesty about how ruff I am on this stuff. I may have been there a while be use of all the crazyness. But they made me feel like it was taking no time at all. Most amazing part. These people get NOTHING for being helpfull other then an hourly paycheck. People at best buy are NOT on COMMISSION. I actually got my phone up by zona rosa "tiffany springs" from the best buy there be use of there geek squad protection. And always went there to the same guy. Not that he isn't there any more I have gotten terrible service. But guess what. He's at this store now. So it's not the store that sucks. It's the employee. If you need a phone. Tablet. I thought customer service was a dead horse. When I wandered around this Best Buy for 10 minutes with ZERO assistance, I was expecting more of the same. Luckily, I happened upon Team Leader Sarah right after she finished helping another customer. I discovered that I didn't even need what I came there for, but something else. Sarah was knowledgeable, personable, and went out of her way to help me. Best Buy gets 5 stars for hiring her, but I give Sarah SEVEN STARS ! If I could give 0 stars I would. Today I went to pick up an order that I had made earlier in the day for curbside pick up. Apparently those parking spots are just there for decoration. I logged in when I arrived and let them know I was there. After waiting 15 minutes and not wanting to get it out, as the temperature with windchill is in the single digits, I decided to call. Well as you guessed they directed me to a nationwide call-center, where the man on the other end of the phone did recognize that I have been sitting there for quite some time. He transferred me to the store so they could help me, but instead I was greeted with a voicemail. At that point I decided to go in and get my "pick up order." And when I walked inside, there were five employees standing by the front door doing nothing, one of which being the manager. When I walked in the manager asked if I needed assistance and I informed her that I'd been waiting in the parking lot for over 15 minutes and was there to collect my pick up order. She told me she was sorry and that they were super busy and they had not received my notification. I found it ironic that she told me they were busy when five of her employees were standing around doing nothing. Needless to say I will not be shopping at Best Buy ever again! read more

So, I went in there today with some family members that were wanting to spend some money on an Android tablet. They did not have the one my uncle was looking for, but instead there was a sign saying "coming soon!" My aunt asks, "what does that mean?" Get this reply from the sales person: "I don't know. I only work here once every two weeks. The rest of the time I work for the Royals." Then he turns around and walks off. What? You have got to be kidding me. DO NOT ORDER FROM BEST BUY. I purchased a 1080p Samsung 32" TV and received it with no issue. The tv would shut down when I opened hulu and after trying all solutions, including calling samsung (they told me to exchange the tv) I exchanged it and had another shipped. The second tv did the same thing. When I went to the Best Buy in Independence the manager, Stephanie, offered to have the tv shipped to the store so she could test it herself and call me to either pick it up, or choose another tv if it did not work. She called saying she received my tv, would check it and call back. When she didn't call back I called myself only to be told they lost my tv. They said they hoped I picked my tv up because they no longer had it and must have given it to someone else. I ended up getting a refund because they had no comparable tv and no solution for the tv I had already purchased being missing. How does a company tell you they are about to test your product and then magically lose it? I will never purchase from Best Buy again. read more

I want it known I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 6 one week ago. I've never shopped at Best Buy before as we don't have one in our town. I visited my mom in KC and told her what I was looking for and she suggested your store. So I went. When I asked about a Memorial Day discount I was told if I applied for the credit card I'd receive 10% off. So we did it via computer. I got my receipt and saw I didn't receive the 10%. So I called. Then I was told I'd get the 10% via coupon in 15 days. I wasn't happy with this as it was not what I was told but still needed the keyboard so I complied. (This was told me by a rewards supervisor) A few days pass and I get an email with a coupon for 10% off my next purchase, which wasn't the $90 I was told so I called again. This time I was told I would not receive that $90 until I paid for the credit in full (this card is 12 months no interest so it could potentially be up to a year later). Even tho I could pay this today I'm going to have to drive 40 minutes away (costing me my gas money and time) to return an item I like because this company lies to their customers, repeatedly, and does nothing to try to right a wronged customer when they call. I will be posting this everywhere I can. I also asked for a prepaid postage to return by mail since I'm in another town and can't even get that. read more

Recently used our GeekSquad warranty for the first time since we bought our LG Front load washer. Took almost a week to get a tech out. He began by complaining about having to work on a Sunday (first available appointment they offered me) He said he installed the parts they shipped to my house based on my description of the problem (I knew that sounded VERY impractical from the get go) and left. Gave us his business card and said if there were any problems just to let him know. He left, I tried doing some laundry and after one light test load I put in a regular load and discovered not only wasn't it fixed but it had more issues than we started with. I texted his cell phone at 6am the next morning and emailed him also (got a return receipt on the email so I know he got it) waited 24 hours trying to avoid giving him a bad mark on his repair record but he never has answered. I then called geek squad and the real runaround began. They scheduled me an appointment 4 days later, with a 3rd party contractor (BAD IDEA) so I was unhappy about more delay but knew I was helpless. Then the next day that 3rd party called to tell me that they didn't have any openings that day and it shouldn't have been scheduled. Back to the drawing board. Finally spoken with a NICE person at the warranty company and she got me a few answers but the soonest she could get me an appointment was 8 days out. By this time I'd spent about 3 hours on the phone with many different people to get to this and I filed a BBB complaint. (highly advise you do the same if you have similar problems.) THAT resulted in a call this morning from Best But saying they miraculously could send a tech out today! (imagine that) This also meant my husband got no sleep before working an overnight shift. No choice. 2nd Tech was very polite and knowledgeable, determined we needed a whole list of new parts and also mentioned that at least one of the parts that was shipped to my home and was supposedly installed by the 1st tech, wasn't. The old part was still in the machine so I don't know where the new part went. And now, it's going to be a minimum of another 7-14 days till the parts arrive so I have no real idea when I might have a washing machine again. I am beyond livid and dissaponted with Best Buys famous Geek Squad. Had another issue just as serious with them in the past so they are 0-2 so far. Beware. read more

My wife and I were in the area and stopped in to this Best Buy to shop around for a couple things rather than going to the one we usually go to. We were very dissapointed in the service at this location. The person at the front door barely acknowledged us entering, having been to focused on a cell phone. On our way through the store we passed by a group of 5 employees standing around chatting, 1 welcomed us to the store, none of them asked if they could help us find anything. That was the only time we have ever been in a Best Buy where someone did not ask if we needed help within the first couple of minutes of entering the store. Now, if the group of 5 employees had been busy with something other than chatting, I could understand that. Seeing them just leaning against tables and chatting irritated us. The store itself was not very busy, perhapos `10 oither customers were in it at the time. We only saw 2 employees actively engaging with customers. It is sad to tarnish the name of this company when we have had such good service at other locations, but there it is. read more

Saved money to buy my three children the Wii U. I bought it with cash. I finally had a chance to play it when we took it to my Families house for Family Night seven days later. While playing I experienced tunnel vision, nausea, and began sweating. I then had a seizure and was rushed by Ambulance to The Hospital. Long story short, admitted to Hospital for three days. Showed negative for epilepsy, got No explanation. Well, my children are scarred and DO NOT want to play the Wii U. So because me trying to return the console with the original receipt only 20 days later, they denied my return because I didn't return it within 15 days. After going through all this, the last thing on Our mind was Best Buys Policy!! I have NEVER experienced Customer Service like this. What happened to Customer Satisfaction?? I purchased a Kindle Fire HD from this location 11/26/16. While checking out, I asked the cashier multiple times about return policies as well as ways to be refunded. Never once did he mention to me that I could not receive cash back. I was told I would be issued a full refund as long as I had my receipt and before 1/15/17. Today, 12/20/16, I brought my Kindle back to return for a Chromebook. The gentleman that helped me with the Chromebook was very short with me and not helpful at all. I gave up with trying to get answers so I decided to just return and cut my losses. Went to the Checkout, stood in line for 15 minutes holding a Best Buy bag and receipt in hand, obviously returning an item, and no one thought it necessary to direct me to Customer Service instead of allowing me to waste my time. I got to the counter and took the Kindle from the bag and placed the receipt on the counter and he looked at me like I was stupid and told me he can't do returns. However, the lady that assisted me at Customer Service was pleasant and professional. My wife and I have spent $1500 at this location in the last month, but will likely not be doing business here again. read more

HORRIBLE customer service today! Returned a samsung LED tv , 7 months old, a large section of the screen stops working. I call,they say bring it in. Stand in long line, csr first says he cant see whats wrong with screen.people in line were yelling out they could see it from way back in line. He then.tells me to.go bring up one just like it for exchange. My daughter and I find it unassisted,lug it up to service desk and another CSR then says " oh no, we cant do an EXCHANGE, it has to go to the service dept." We move to that section, takes them forever to fill out paperwork, they cant give me a definate time frame on repair. Could be 5 business days,could be a month I was told.ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You sell poor quality products and the customer is then at the mercy of your inefficient repair dept? Wal-Mart has a better return process than this. I have been to there several times, I usually prefer to have my items shipped to my home. But in the past year I have returned ONLY 2 items. I, however, have purchased a 55inch Samsung TV, 49inch LG TV, a TV wall mount, Samsung DVD, LG microwave and countless accessories in the past year. And it just happened to be "DAVID" who returned both the items I returned. He has made me feel so uncomfortable every time. He questioned the reason why I was returning the items in a very negative/bias way . BUT WHY would I want to drive more than 15min to return an item that's in good condition?!...1st item I returned was a microwave that was damaged on the inside, it was something small and before returning it I called the manufacture to see if the part could be mailed, I figured I could replace it myself. Unfortunately the damaged part could not be replaced and the manufacture advised I return the item. Well, David questioned my return and assured me the part had to be removed before using, even though the manual stated the part could not be removed. 2nd item was a Sony DVD, the DVD did not show color on my TV, and the manual listed HDMI under items included and there was no HDMI cable included...of course he had to point out the HDMI cable had an asterisk next to it and unfortunately no HDMI cable was included, I told him "I still don't want the DVD, it shows no colored". The thing that bothers me the most is his reason to doubt, questioning my judgment, if the item is returnable and it's damaged or even if I don't want it, just return it! read more
