Dirty floors, aisles full of merch laying on the ground, poorly organized shelves, stacks of comics on top of the long boxes...nearly unshoppable. I made a couple passes through the place, I tried to look at the glass cases up front but there was too much stuff piled on top of them to see into it. What prompted me to write the review however, is the conversation that I overheard between the employees. A young man, clearly a "manager" that was on his way out of the business for good was essentially telling the other two that despite his best efforts to get the powers that be to give one of them a shot at running the store, the decision has been made to bring someone else in that was being trained at another store...and that was the right decision. I have 16 years in retail, 9 of those years as a General Manager, and the way that store looked, no wonder they didn't want the next manager to learn from the person in charge there. I was in that store for nearly 20 minutes, aside from the greeting, I was never again acknowledged, despite being within earshot of their conversation for the last 7-10 minutes I was there. When I decided to make a purchase (something to resell, believe it or not I did find a deal at a vintage stock) I stood at the counter for appx 90 seconds waiting for one of them to get me outta there, which feels like an eternity when you're waiting to give a business money...I then asked "why is the store so dirty?" The response was "we've been really busy." I'm sorry, but I don't believe you couldn't find a few minutes during your shift to tidy up a bit...like maybe the last 20 minutes or so? Now for starters, i feel bad for whoever is paying that crew to literally do nothing...for days...because the way that store looked, it hadn't been properly walked or reset in days if not weeks. Additionally, I feel bad for whoever is coming into that situation to turn it around...looks like it's gunna be a month of 60 hour work weeks to get that one ready for Black Friday weekend. Finally, to the young man who wanted to get a shot at running the store but didn't even get the chance to talk to upper management about it...you didn't get a shot because you don't care about your store. You may not be the manager, but you also let it look like that. Talent evaluators and decision makers know who has the passion for running a business. It's the person cleaning the aisles, vacuuming the floors and creating nice displays for the shoppers to enjoy. It's the one person NOT standing behind the counter negatively portraying the ownership in earshot of a customer. It's the person offering to help the only customer in the store. Cause seriously, this place is awesome…read more They sell everything from authentic replicas of game items (think: Sora's Keyblade, Link's double-edged sword, even the DRAGONBALLS from DragonBall Z), old school records, posters, CDs, DVDs/Blu-Rays, and anything remotely related to gaming. Availability of different things vary widely by store, of course, but I've seen Sega Dreamcasts, GameBoy Colors, the original Pokemon Blue/Green/Red/Yellows, and just about anything else vintage that has gone back into the vault. These stores really are your opportunity to pick up timeless classics for just about anything that satisfies your inner nerd. The best part, though? They'll gladly buy any old video game, comic book, DVD, CD, action figures, etc. from you. Yes, they flip it around in their store and yes, they only give you 20% of what THEY value the item as, but it certainly beats dumping it in a box and sending it off to Goodwill since you can get some value back out of it (note: not saying that donating to Goodwill is a bad thing, cause it isn't). I took around 40 old Blu-Rays into one of their stores a few weeks ago and walked away with $60 in cash. Not bad. You also have the option to get store credit instead for an extra 20-25% in value (I forget the exact figure). Pretty sweet business model for both parties, if you ask me. Really, the only downside I've seen here are the pricing of their items. It's a bit scattered at times. They have some good deals tucked away in there, sure, but a lot of things that are currently being sold in stores will sell for a similar prices elsewhere. For example, Blu-Rays. Their pricing for newly-released Blu-Rays--even if the item IS used--will be similar to what you can get off Amazon or at Best Buy. But some may be lower, some may be higher, it just seems to be the luck of the draw for which titles get discounted/marked up. Pricing on vintage items are quite subjective, though, as some may think $30 for the old Pokemon Red is a steal while some may scoff at the price. TL;DR: If you're looking for a specific gaming/electronics piece that's a timeless classic and/or not on the retail shelves anymore, Vintage Stock is THE spot. You may have to hit up multiple locations, but chances are, they'll have what you're looking for. Additionally, if you're looking to get some salvage value out of old collectibles or electronics you have laying around, they'll gladly buy it off you for cash as well. Happy shopping, nerds!

Some of them are nice and polite however they are notorious for lowballing you when you are selling to them, I had waited for 30 minutes to form an account with this guy who took his sweet time getting me an account that I didn't even want that I had to have in order to sell what I wanted to sell, and the guy offered me $2 for 400 Pokémon cards which I thought was insulting, the guy was nice and all, however he acted like my collection wasn't worth five cents alone five dollars, I walked in there, hoping to sell them for five bucks and I started high at 15 and was fully expecting him to give me an offer for five and he gave me a two dollar offer so I just bought a couple volumes of anime, declined his offer and left, that was at the Shawnee location, and at this location, I had tried to sell a massive tub of anime because I had Crunchyroll at the time and I didn't feel like I needed them anymore, and I had spent years working hard at my workplace accumulating all of this anime over several paychecks and spent tens and thousands of dollars of my what little I had left of my paycheck on anime, and the guy (this is at the Metcalf location it's a different guy) casually dismissed me with a $100 offer and a look that told me to Pi$$ off as if he was above it all, some of the workers at both of these locations are very nice, but both locations have employees who act like their above everyone else and that their job is beneath them, as if I'm wasting their time, I have been a regular vintage stock for years, and I have never been treated like this before until I moved here from Kentucky, and I'm not exaggerating or being to dramatic , I don't feel like a valued customer vintage stock anymore, some of the employees make you feel welcomed while the other half of them make you feel like you don't belong there, this should be a safe place for nerds from several different communities to come together and buy sell and trade items without feeling like you're not welcome there.

When I called them and told them that I was looking for an original PlayStation one, I was immediately surprised that they had it. Not only did they have it, the price that they were selling it for was extremely affordable especially in these days and times. But before I could commit to buying it I had one more question for them. The number one game that I love to play on the PlayStation one was Tekken 3, and when I asked them if they had that, they stated that they did. At that point I was sold and I came in the next day and purchased my PlayStation one and my game Tekken three. After receiving the game. I immediately came home and hooked it up and I noticed a problem right away when it took me five attempts to get the game to come on before it would. When I seen that it came on I was willing to forgive the five tries, until I turned off the game and went about my business and came back hours later to play again only to find that the Console would not come on at all. I decided that I was going to take the console back and demand either a replacement or a refund. When I arrived they were so friendly and helpful. They immediately discovered that the problem was the power cord to the game. They quickly issued me a new power cord and assured me that if there were any more problems they would be more than happy to fix it at no extra charge. I brought the cord home hooked it up and I have been in tekken land ever since. Now that I've talked about my experience I will talk about the layout of the store. They do have a lot of retro games. They do have Nintendo, the wii and all of the other games, but what I saw that I haven't ever seen before was they have a gaming room. Set up with gaming chairs, different sizes of TVs and they said they virtually have any game that you were interested in playing. You can pay a price to play for an hour, or half a day or all day. You can pay for snacks while you play games. Unfortunately they won't let you in the room unless you're going to play games in there but I did get a sneak peek as a kid came out to switch out games. This has become a popular hang out in the Topeka area and now I know why. I literally saw parents bringing their kids to this place and coming back to pick them up later. Maybe one day just out of curiosity I may go and play a game for an hour just to see what it's like. They also state that you can throw gaming parties. So if you are into classic games like me or you are a bona fide gamer this is definitely a place you want to check out
