But honestly, I wouldn't have believed the reviews if I didn't experience it myself. I've been going to comic shops since the mid-eighties as a child, and I've never been to a comic shop where you're not allowed to come into the store. Especially at Christmas time. This is money-making time... But nope, locked up like a dog in heat during mid day posted business hours. Plus, the rules plastered all over the door to enter. If you're going to have so many rules, at least let people in the door. The owner is going have a heart attack once the street car line is done, and people want to enter her store and support small local businesses. This store is no Mile High Comics, they're going have to relying on more than just online business and comic book pulls of a handful of people to sell enough to stay afloat in this day an age. Very sad and disappointing, honestly. I was really excited to visit my first time.

‍ SHOP LOCAL, OLATHE!…read more Four years ago, Michael took two things he genuinely loved--comics and coffee--and turned them into something special for our community: Comic Coffeehouse What started as a passion project has grown into a one-of-a-kind gathering place filled with creativity, conversation, caffeine, and community. Whether you stop in for a latte, to browse comics, meet up with friends, or just enjoy the vibe, it's clear this place was built with heart. Small businesses are the backbone of our community. They bring character, connection, and local flavor to Olathe, and every time we choose to shop local, we help support someone's dream. Also, it was really cool to see that they support our local Olathe Public Schools by participating in the Adopt-a-School Program...looks like they've adopted Sunnyside Elementary. I know Heather Devocelle Schoonover was thrilled about this! Congratulations to Michael on FOUR years of serving Olathe with passion, creativity, and great coffee! Here's to many more years of comics, community, and caffeinated adventures ahead! #ShopLocal #Olathe #SupportSmallBusiness #ComicCoffeehouse #CommunityMatters City of Olathe, KS

Guests can grab a comic or play some video games while enjoying a sweet treat or grabbing their caffeine boost. I had the Lois Lane and the Banshee, both named after comic characters. I really enjoyed both, especially the banshee. Inside is nice and clean, as is the bathroom. I was kindly greeted upon arrival and thanked on my way out. Hope to get back here soon and add some pics to my review. Loved my visit there this morning.

My son and I went on a Friday night and played for a little over two hours until closing. We had a blast. They have around 30 arcade cabinets, two pinball machines, two skee-ball lanes, retro consoles like the Sega Genesis, NES, and PlayStation, plus modern consoles like the Nintendo Switch and more. If you have little ones, there are a couple of small playrooms with toys for toddlers. They also have board games and a party room for birthdays and other events. Admission was only $10 for me and $5 for my son, and it's unlimited play all day. You can come and go as you please . . . grab food at the food court or a nearby restaurant, then come back and keep playing. It's so rare to find an affordable arcade that's truly family-friendly. I love Up-Down, but since it's 21+, I can't take my kids there. This place is an amazing hidden gem in the Kansas City area. They've also added a $4 non-player admission, which is perfect if you just want to bring the kids and relax with a book while they play.

Since the pandemic, I have found that teens, specifically my twins, are more invested in spending time with their peers and while money or gift cards are always welcome, the gift of time is more important to them! We have just arrived in KC and saw this place in the mall and they had to come and check it out! The price is a stellar deal! They spent almost 5 hours today and are begging to go back their birthday is 8 months away and they are already plotting and planning a party! Would give higher stars if I could.
