We made an appointment for the Geek Squad at Best Buy, Bastrop for service on a PC computer. We had connectivity issues which were NOT resolved by an online Geek Squad repair done remotely. Prior to the online Geek Squad attempt, I attempted to correct the computer connection issue, which only worked temporarily. This is why we made the appointment for an "in person" evaluation and fix. We presented to the Geek Squad desk at the Bastrop Best Buy at our appointed time (10:20 a.m., March 11, 2025) where the 'Geek' cordially greeted us. We explained our comupter issue to him. After about a 5 to 10 minute discussion, where we explained the issue and lack of results from the online remote repair, the 'Geek' recommended we take our computer back home and manage the repair ourselves. He also attempted to sell us some merchandise. Brushed off. Go home and fix it yourself. Can I sell you something? He also posted our appointment as "Canceled", when we actally DID present to the appointment. Also egregious: the Best Buy website has NO allowance for feed back. The chatbot can only make appointments or sell you something. Since the Bastrop Geek 'canceled' our appointment there is no link to the March 11, 2025 visit. Caveat emptor! Best Buy in Bastrop sucks!! The floor guys convinced us we should buy a Samsung TV instead of picking an off brand like we always do. They offered us a no finance charge for 2 yr option so we took the deal. It broke after a year and a half! The most expensive tv we've ever bought lasted less than 2 years (instead of the 7-10 the off brands last). We tried to take it in for diag and repair, they don't accept that size, had to bring back home and schedule in home with geek squad - 2 weeks later at cost of $130! I'm still paying for this damn broken tv!! He says it's the power board, wants $600 to fix it!!! My husband finds all 3 boards for under $100, learns how to change out, reset, troubleshoot -all of it. Replaces all 3 boards and the power cord, still doesn't work!! I call BEST BUY get put on hold, then will have supervisor call me back bs. I get online and chat with BB and by the end the chat guy says they have determined that they will replace my tv, I just need to go through with the geek squad diag and the repair guy will set me up with new tv. Well that repair guy knew nothing of it, so I went back on chat and they said sorry, even though we can see where he told you we would replace it, he was wrong and we won't replace it. I call Bastrop BB again to get them to honor his word, they say they have no manager, only supervisors and only one and he's busy but can call me back in 48 hours!!! That's their customer service?? She told me they only guarantee purchases for 15 days. And Samsung for a year. Otherwise you have to buy warranties. That is bull shit. To have an expensive product last longer than 2 years you have to pay extra? Do they think we are all idiots?? Warranties are for chumps, we should be demanding better than this as consumers. I'm done with Best Buy and I'm done with Samsung. They can both suck it. read more

My husband shops here often, they have met our needs and wants every time we've gone in. We ordered a show refrigerator two days before Snow-pocalypse 2022 and Best Buy stayed on top of delivery while working with us through the storm. Drake is our go to guy whenever we need assistance. My mother and me and a few other family members went it to this store (my mothers husband was not with her at the time). My mother bought a few things and a tv but she had to go to the ross next door so she didnt want to leave it in the car. she used her own card but her husband Rewards account when buying it she had her receipt and the store agreed to hold the tv tell she returned. coming back to the store they wouldn't give her the tv she just bought 30 minutes ago because the rewards name was under her husband's name. She used her card and her money and the store agreed to hold it but wouldn't give it to her. So they called her husband. she was upset of course because this was her purchase and couldn't even leave the store with out it. They deserve zero stars. If you buy appliances here DO NOT have them install them. Get a bunch of friends to bring in the appliances and install them. Your friends have your best interest but Best Buy's 'contractors' don't. We had a washer and dryer installed. They showed up and asked us to borrow tools because they didn't have the correct tools. They damaged our few days old floor when bringing in the fridge and slightly damaged the wall as they turned the corner. We noticed the odor of gas a few days later. Our local gas company came out and said there was a gas leak at the connector (which we simply tightened). We also discovered about a month later, when we had to call a licensed plumber, that instead of removing the water line pipe cover for the washer installation they hit it with a hammer (obviously didn't know how to remove it) causing it to fall down in the pipe. After many times using the washer the pipe cover flipped blocking the water flow and it flooded the front part of our house. I found out later they are not certified appliance techs so why is Best Buy sending them AND allowing them to work with natural gas? I will never purchase another thing from Best Buy. Never. Their insurance company still hasn't addressed damages. Best Buy and their insurance company suck!! I shouldn't be surprised that a company who sends out incompetent people would also have an incompetent insurance company. read more

Installers showed up with my washer and dryer on their side in the back of a dirty van which resulted in damage to both units. Installers did not have a dolly or straps with them to move the units up my stairs. They asked if I had one they could borrow. I did, but wish that I did not have one now.. Installers were clearly upset, cussing at each other and talking about how best buy screwed them by sending them out with the wrong fittings. This resulted in them installing my new dryer using the old gas line. Which turns out, is completely illegal and against code. They left me with the new gas line and told me that they could not return it to the store. 1 day after installation my dryer exhaust vent came disconnected from the dryer and the wall. This was due to improper installation. (They just shoved the vent into the wall). They did not install the feet to the dryer, and assured me that I did not need them because the ground was flat. (the dryer is noticeably louder and it the floor is not flat. 2 months after install, the washer waste water line came disconnected from the washing unit resulting in an entire wash cycles worth of water being evacuated on to my bathroom and kitchen floor. I am estimating 12-15 gallons of water. I will be reaching out to best buy in search for a resolution for this. If we can not come to a resolution I will be seeking legal counsel. read more

I bought a fairly expensive laptop just over a year ago, but I had it in for repeated repairs during the one year warranty period. They could not seem to fix the issue. Now that the one year is up, I still have the issue. Rather than refunding because it's a lemon, they just said THEY WOULD DO NOTHING TO HELP, now that the year is up. I recommend NOBODY buy electronics, and certainly forget the Geek Squad. THEY LOST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF FUTURE BUSINESS WITH JUST ME FROM TODAY FORWARD. I advice you to buy your electronics anywhere else. I got a lemon, and they wouldn't stand behind their sale. The employees were not very professional and in one of the bad experiences the employee could answer 0 of my questions about computers. I honestly couldn't believe he didn't know how to answer some of my questions. I don't know hardly anything about computers and unfortunately he couldn't help me with much. I was in a week later and had an employee who knew what he was talking about and was very knowledgable in that area and it was refreshing to get the help that I needed. We had the worst experience ever with this store. We went there to purchase an induction stovetop at the end of June, but it was not available and would not be until September. To pay cash, we would have had to pay 100% up front. The salesperson told us that we could apply for a BestBuy credit card and then it would not be charged until delivery. And that was a long drawn out process that took over an hour. Well, a month later we received our credit card bill even though we had over a month before delivery, with a 26.74% interest! We called to cancel everything! 2 hours on the phone! The refund was $218 less than the original purchase price, which of course had a lot of add-ons. We had to go through several people before it was straightened out, and hopefully it is. We will NEVER shop there again! read more

There was a problem with our appliance orders at a different location. We ordered them 6 months in advance and were promised they were being held. When the time came to have them delivered to our new home, we were told they were pulled by the manufacturer and were out of stock! Panic immediately set in! But then we went to the Bastrop location and they helped us find substitutes of equal and/or higher quality with no extra cost! And they are able to deliver these on time! Two stars because...it's there. We've lived out in this area for about 17 years. Very rural. I was pretty excited when we got a Best Buy in Bastrop. This store has probably been open 10 years now. It's a small Best Buy that sometimes might have basic items in stock. I have found Best Buy customer service a little lacking anyway, combine this with their lack of product on hand and it's a pretty hard place to shop. But it's there. They talked me into getting their credit card a few years back to take advantage of whatever promotion they had going on at the time. I don't use it very often, or any other credit cards. Went in the other day because I needed a new cordless stick vac. That section was missing tags and had items in the wrong place making it difficult to find out what the price was on the item I had picked out. Somewhere between $259 and $499...so I tried to find an employee to help sort it out. None to be found. Went up front and asked the person at the front door if he could help. He said sure, let me get someone over there. I waited about ten minutes and went up and reminded him that he had a customer that needed help. Another 10 minutes goes by and someone finally showed up. Scanned a couple boxes for me and I picked my vac. $499. Went to the register to pay and had them look up my Best Buy card. They found it and put all the info in the system and came back not found. Tried a couple times, same thing. Called the manager over...another ten minutes. He asked me when I last used the card and I told him 6 months or a year. He said it looks like Citi paused your account. Well, how do we find out. He told me all he has to do is re active it. I'm about an hour in at this point and thinking it shouldn't be this hard to buy ANYTHING. At this point I told him don't bother. I don't shop at Best Buy enough for this hassle. Went out to the parking lot and called Citi. All good on their end. They said I have $7500 to spend. I went back in and told the "manager" and he said it's not them, yet didn't even bother to check if the cashier was doing something wrong or maybe there was another solution. Without even making eye contact he says have a nice day. Well thank you. I will. Went over to Lowe's across the parking lot walked in and bought the same vacuum for $20 less and felt like they wanted my $500 sale. It took 10 minutes. Best Buy is struggling to keep up with competition. Amazon, Walmart, Lowe's...the list is long. And yet this is how they treat customers?? I cut up my Best Buy card. Best Buy never gets another penny from me. Amazon has it on my front porch the next day...hassle free. There are many choices Best Buy and you're not one of them. read more

I came to Best Buy looking for a phone case for a new phone. I believe in freedom and when entering the store was asked if I wanted a mask. I said no, I do not want one. The response given was refreshing, I was told that some of the staff may not be comfortable assisting me, and that if that happens, they will find someone who is. Best Buy has always been my shopping place for appliances, movie systems, cell phones. All of the purchases were for top of the line products. Even spent close to $5,000.00 Sony Bravia system with all of the bells and whistles. After that it all went south. Bought a 52 inch Samsung curved screen that I returned to store because it could not be completely connected. Replaced it with the same TV with same problem. After countless hours on the phone with corporate and other resources, was told to pick out any TV that I wanted with me paying for any difference. Picked out a TV and bought it. I could not get an RA # for this TV. I wanted BB to deliver the new TV and set up. At the time of purchasing the TV & paying the cost of delivery & set-up, I was told that I would have to pay more for them taking the Samsung back after the ser-up. The cost was excessive since the Geek Squad was already at my home. When set-up was done I ask the tech. to take the Samsung back with him to BB. That prevented me from driving 120 miles RT. The tech. did as I requested. End result with him taking it back, I had to pay for the new TV that he took back, with a cost of $1,100.00 (still paying). When I called was told that they DO Not KNOW where that TV was. Even @ that time said they didn't know who the man was. Sad point besides all of this they could not connect the TV to the internet. That was the initial issue with Samsung. Needless to say I do not care for BB, a store that has declined after spending so much. read more

After recently buying replacement televisions for ones stolen from our home, my husband went back to purchase a monitor for the new security system. Took the TV out of the box and found it to be defective. Goes back into the store only to be told it's OUR FAULT and they don't replace broken televisions. WHAT AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went back to the store and explained that I forgot to ask about the remote when the TV was delivered. Paul was helping a customer, but was quick to help me. Is the phone center, they mess up your contract, they charge you and dont give you a plan or a number, I got a Sprint phone and they messed up the whole transaction, their solution? Go accross the highway to the sprint store they will fix it. Or go to att or go to verizon they will fix it, I will never use them for anything again, I did go to the Sprint store and they guys there were very nice and helpful, it took them about 3 hours of being on the phone with sprint to finally get me all straightened up. I took my phones back to best buy, then went to the sprint store and got my phones, they even took the time to explain how the phone worked and invited me to come back anytime and they would teach me new things about my phone. read more

She told me she could not return the items and that it had to be checked by a tech. Keep in mind I purchased the speakers 1 day prior to returning to the store. Meh...not a fan. I just went into the Best Buy in Bastrop. I needed a USB cable to connect my DSLR to my computer, mine recently got packed away while moving and I haven't been able to locate it, but needed one ASAP for a job I was working on. The greeter was polite, but clearly had no idea what I was talking about or what I needed, so he sent me to the cellular section and told me to wait for the customer service person in that department to assist me. Cellular? For a DSLR? This didn't seem right to me, but whatever. I stood in line, there was one person being assisted and no one behind me. I decided to go check the camera section myself just in case. The camera section was sparse at best in terms of their accessories, so I went back to the cellular section. There wasn't anyone there - including no employees. I had my 3-year-old with me and I am 8 months pregnant, so I sat down where I saw the last customer being assisted and waited. Another customer came to the cellular section and started walking around aimlessly, obviously also needing to be assisted. The cellular customer service employee that was previously in the department walked up and looked between me and the other customer. So between the single guy aimlessly walking around and the pregnant chick with a kid at the counter where the line was supposed to be, waiting to be assisted, she opted to help the guy. She never asked who was in line or anything. She walked over and looked at me, annoyed, because she intended to assist the guy and I was where she needed him to sit. No, dumba**, I am not going to watch you obviously ignore me, then walk off and assist someone else, I am going to stay put and make sure you assist me. She asked if I was with the guy and I told her no. She then turned to the guy and asked if he was there first, he said no and told her I was waiting in line first. The girl looked really annoyed at this point and curtly asked what I needed assistance with, assuring the guy she would only take a second with me. Wow. This chick had amazing customer service skills (NOT). I explained that the greeter sent her to me for a USB cable to connect my DSLR, which I had with me, to my computer. She told me I was in the wrong department, I again clarified to her, since she seemed kind of slow, that the Best Buy employees had sent me to her, I did not just happen upon her department. She rushed me to another department and told the guy to assist me in finding what I needed. The next employee (I would give him 5 stars any day, he was great), helped me, though he too seemed to be lost in translation as to what I needed. He kept thinking I was trying to charge my DSLR and I kept saying I needed to retrieve pics off of it. He ended up searching through the very limited supplies and figured out that he would have to order the USB cable I needed, as they (no surprise here) do not stock USB cables for DSLRs. I told him I couldn't do that - needed the pics today (which wasn't his fault), but asked if there was something that would allow me to connect my XD card from my DSLR to my computer, as my computer does not take the size card I had. I was speaking his language then and he quickly got me the perfect device for my needs that was only $20, he also never acted annoyed, and seemed like he wanted to help. Awesome! Next, I was trying to check out - again - the employee was nice, but he was having to work with Best Buy's sub-par system. First, he asked if I wanted my receipt emailed to me or printed, but the only option was email and print or just print, which defeats the purpose. When I selected the option to not have promo offers emailed to me, the system locked up. No surprise, again. So he had to cancel out the entire transaction and ring me up again, this time I opted for just the paper receipt. When I gave him cash, the system locked up...again. He was profusely apologetic. At this point, my daughter was protesting by laying on the ground and all the employee and I could do was laugh. Eventually, he was able to successfully ring me up and give me my change to get me out of there. OMG Never again. I think in order to salvage this disaster of a store, Best Buy would need to stock more USB options and train their employees in customer service skills (at least the young, Hispanic female in the cellular section) and train the other employees in electronics so that so much confusion doesn't go on for a simple USB cord. read more

Not sure why this store has so many negative reviews. We were politely greeted when we walked in. We knew exactly what we were getting and where it was. We were immediately greeted with an incredibly knowledgeable staff member, Mike. He was such a pleasure to work with and even was patient while we were tending to our 1 year old. He was thorough in answering all questions we had and informing us of additional differences in appliances we were comparing. If you need an appliance in Bastrop, ask for Mike!
