Glad that home depot is doing so great that they can afford to run off customers...How many big Cos have thought that they were invincible over the years that are gone or all but gone! Just so happen that I am over many commercial remodel jobs every month all across the state of TX. Because of what happened today by a smart aleck checker, and her supervisor (a liar that lies to embellish something) that never got me the true manager in charge (nor would take a phone # to have the MIC call me) I can (and will) be sure that no subs bring anything on the job sites that was bought at home depot.(Yes I am a hard A*S) Lets just forget the problem and go to the point, that when a customer ask for the MIC (Manager in Charge) they get a MIC and not some person way down the list . And that person thought that she could lie to me about something that I knew there was no way it could be. Lie then lie other times. If that is what HD has for leadership they need not my trade and I will not let trades that work under me bring their CR*P onto the job site. AND lets talk about the pumpkin patch that was in the elect dept. When I first got there there were 3 employees standing talking. I filled my cart with items, and looked all over for a plug. I mean i went up and down the aisle, to the other aisle, and back. Did one (well the pumpkin patch was down to 2 employees, for one was called away) even asked if I needed help finding what I was looking for. NOPE!! they were too busey talking about their personal things (like one asked how long the other was going to e there) Maybe one got to restock the items I walked away from and went across HWY 71 to uy BTW there is a McCoy's (and if you are desperate a Lowes) right across HWY 71 McCoy's treats their customers with respect Just notice that this store has one of the lowest review for all home depot. The customer service workers refused to swap out a under warranty Milwaukee product after calling. Milwaukee and they say that the store I bought it from can replace it. 15 mins of ladies walking around getting random people printing out a warranty that states it's is in fact under warranty still refused to do it. They took more time and energy for this 20 mins ordeal then it would've taken to replace it. Now I have to call Milwaukee and explain they refused to return and honor the contracts between you. During these times it is prudent to follow best practices to keep you customers safe and instill trust and loyal customers. This was not done. Your greeter at the door had no mask on. I was directed to a self checkout that I had to use a hand held gun scanner. I needed to pick it up to scan my own products. No sanitizers at the front door mind you. When I asked for a sanitizer to the clean the gun scanner after I was finished so that the next person in line behind me could use the equipment I was told they were just cleaned? Yet no sanitizer was available or in sight. Uh no lady that's not how it works. It takes basic steps to keep up Infection prevention. I will not be a returning customer. Went to Home Depot this morning to get plywood. Walk in and 0 plywood carts are to be found. I ask a worker and they said they don't know where any are. I then was told to check the garden section (why is lumber carts in the garden section???) Well there wasn't any in the garden section. I'll preface this with saying that I usually only leave good reviews. But shopping at Home Depot is part of my business and I like Home Depot. I just don't like this Home Depot. Which sucks because it's the one closest to me. I also waited to write this. I waited for months. I understand even big stores and other businesses can have a bad day or even a bad week. So let's get started. 1. There are probably 2 actual helpful employees there. The rest will actively avoid eye contact with you to avoid having to help. I went in in December looking for some small cabinet hinges. The box on the shelf was empty. I asked someone at the pro counter if they had any in stock somewhere else. He said they did and walked with me to the isle to find them. He told me what to look for so I could help. After about 2 minutes he said he didn't know where they were and reminded how to keep looking for them and excused himself. When I said I would try Lowe's, he said that was "probably a good idea". 2. I buy the Radiata pine plywood for my projects. This is the only store where if they have any, it is almost always certainly damaged. The edges are crushed and chipped. It is also scratched and gouged about 90% of the time. I'll update this post with pictures to prove it. 3. Not every time, but almost every time, someone has stacked other sheets of plywood on top of it. I can never get anyone to come remove the other stuff so I can get what I need. I was told "oh you can just move it over." - the problem is, I don't work there, so I'm not going to move your stock around. Basically, the service is awful. I understand in a small town the talent pool is shallow, but it makes me wonder who they have managing the place? The store, especially in the lumber section is regularly unorganized and in disarray. I am forced to drive into Austin to visit the Home Depot's that actually work hard to provide a good customer experience. Great job! While pondering on a way to voice this statement about racism that still somehow going on after many years of slavery and people fighting for American American rights! I experience one of the nastiest customer service experience every in my entire life. Growing up I understood racism, but never experience it in such manner(setting). My mother and I decided to purchase some paint and had a few questions in regards to exact paint types we'll be needing. We approach an older lady by the name Shelley(Manager/Supervisor of Paint Department) who just finished up giving this man the most top of the line customer service, so I knew my mother and I would have no issue experiencing the same. Little did I know this lady had it out for me.... As soon as I approached the lady at the counter with my questions, the first thing the lady tells me is "hold on"! I didn't think much of that until I proceeded in asking her about which paint is best used for painting porches. I showed her a picture and she instantly started yelling and pointing "no if your referring to that, it's not over here it's over there". I responded, ok. I'll just get this yellow paint here. She grabbed the can, slammed it down and begin mixing it with this machine. I had no idea what was going on when she snatched the jar of paint from me, she didn't state what needed to be done. I waited around for over 15 minutes and had no knowledge that this lady was mixing the color for me and whatever else they do with the paint. She walked about, no eye contact, no assistance, no nothing. Another guy came by asked is there anything they can assist me with, I pointed at the paint and told them they left it there. The manager that started helping us, grabs the can of paint from him.... from there I asked if she could call a store manager because the attitude and customer service I received because I walked up to he counter, with a "I CAN'T BREATH, Black Lives Matter" mask on, I would be attacked just because the color of my skin. The store manager at the time comes over and I begin to speak with him while the Manager Shelley is standing right there. Her attitude is at an all time high, she's yelling, cutting me off, not letting me speak, & still holding the paint she grabbed from the gentleman. I'm sharing with the store manager, I witness this lady give this White man the most outstanding customer service but when I approached the counter her attitude changed instantly. The lady goes to tell the store manager "I don't have to tell them how long it's gone take, I don't owe them anything". The look on the store manager face was very shocking, he looked appalled. He apologized for what occurred and proceeded with giving us 50% off our total purchase. Fast forward to 2 hours later, I needed more paint, I sent my wife up there this time to see if she'll receive the same service. She walks in there while on FaceTime with me, mind you I didn't share with her what occurred earlier to me and my mother. She walks up to the counter there's two young ladies by the name "Kasey & Nayeli", who were in the middle of conversing with one another they instantly stopped and asked how they could be of assistance. My wife showed them the picture of the lid we had previous purchase, the two girls then proceeded and said "ok perfect, I'll have two grab the paint for you and since it has to be mixed it'll take about approximately 7 minutes". That there is the service my mother and I should have received because the white man that was before us received just that from Shelley, while my mother and I went unnoticed. Fast forward to an hour before closing and I needed a few extra items, this time I did go in with my wife because I then informed her what occurred so she insisted in me coming in. We happen to stop by the paint department, this time I didn't have my mask on and also a different outfit on as well. I say all that to say, you wouldn't believe who walked past my wife and I with another employee and greet us with the most sweetest " Hello, How are you", Shelley ( The Department Manager)..... I said all this to prove my point of the racial profile I experience while shopping at Home Depot. I normally don't speak out, but one thing I pride myself on is equality. I didn't receive that today in such a Big Corporation I wouldn't have expected an employee, or should I say "department supervisor" to conduct themselves in such manner. Instead of defusing the situation, and apologizing since I was the customer she insisted on trying to prove a point! No matter what, a customer is always right and as a supervisor her role was to correct the issue and make sure that I was valued at the end of the day like any other customer she interacted with, no less. read more

This place has the WORST customer service. They are ALWAYS out of stock on everything and on the things they do have when we have bought it we get it home to find it doesn't work or it's damaged. While we are shopping in the store we can see employees standing around just goofing off. When we ask for help they never can help us they have to call the manager (who doesn't know anything either). Had the absolute worst customer service from Shelly at the online order pick up. I pick up Home Depot orders twice a week all over the country and this has by far been the worst experience. Absolutely rude, disrespectful and just all around terrible attitude. Home Depot your outstanding customer service just got shot down by Shelly. They had a sign which said I could have a water heater installed same day if I ordered before noon. Good news, I was there before noon. Just talk to a sales rep. Try and find one of those. I finally went to customer service. They took all my info, but couldn't give me a quote. Why can't you give me a quote, water heater is a pretty standard job. ARS called me a couple hours later. Wanted to send out someone to give me an "estimate". I don't know why this is needed, it's a pretty standard job. So I selected 10-2 to see an estimator. Still not same day installation. They said they'd call me 1/2 hour before coming. It is now 2 PM and I haven't heard from them. I called Home Despot and they connected me with ARS. I said, "I don't want to talk to them because they're incompetent." Still, I was put on the phone with stupid woman from company who argued with me. Do NOT use this company. I called Home Depot's number that they gave me. They took NO responsibility, but tried to move me on to yell at their contractor. Their sign was a lie. That they couldn't give me a price on a pretty standard procedure is nonsense. I apologize for yelling at the poor lady on the phone, because it wasn't her fault, but I will not be spending any more money there. And I can literally see their store from my back yard. read more

They get one star because there is no option for zero stars. So, true to being fair, I have had multiple experiences with this store over the years. I have had a few good, most okay and a few major issues. The first was when I needed to have bulk items delivered for the renovation of my business. I ended up having to contact the store in Austin on Parmer and the interstate to get some satisfaction. Then I was having a house built and needed to order appliances for delivery and...sadly... ended up going to Lowe's across the highway. I vowed then to never go to Home Depot (at least not that one) again. And now this... My hubby called the HD in Bastrop TX to find out if they could fulfill and order for 15 treated wood picnic tables after I (reluctantly) visited the store. The associate confirmed over the phone with my hubby so I went in to pay for the order and arrange for delivery. During the order I told them that the tables were for a business and that we had an event coming up for which we would need them. I also reiterated that the business is only open Friday through Sunday and that no one would be there to accept the delivery. I told them exactly where to leave the load and confirmed that I would receive a call when the delivery was on it's way on delivery day. When delivery day came, I did not receive a phone call and nothing was delivered. Nothing was delivered the following day. I called the store and asked for a manager. I got the run around. Finally someone took my call and proceeded to tell me that no one was there when the delivery driver attempted to deliver. Then after wasting a little more of my time told me they had no idea why someone took my order for the tables because "we don't even have that order in our inventory". After many hours and on into the next day they finally agreed to recruit the item from other store in the area. They were set to be delivered earlier this week for us to set up on our property but with the flooding in our area they were delayed. Understandable. I received no phone call today for our delivery (on the property next door) of untreated, unassembled tables on a pallet along with a roller and some chemicals for me to treat them myself! And my outdoor event is TOMORROW!!! I AM NOT HAPPY!!! read more

We worked through HomeDepot (HD) in Bastrop and Stone Systems (SS) was their contractor for this install. New counter tops & bar, tear away and remove the old ones. This occurred on or about the 15-Mar. I was told the end-to-end process would take about 4 weeks. I heard from SS and the guy who does the measurements came out and took care of that within a week. Within a day or 2 i had a bill for the difference between my estimates and SS's estimates (and i wasn't that far off..off to a good start). Once we settled up, i didn't hear from HD nor SS for over 2 weeks.. and then i got another bill from HD for another $40. I called HD and they said it was for a second visit for measurements. I let them know there had been no second visit and i'd like to know when i can expect my counter tops as i was told it'd be about a 4 week process. I was asked to call SS and find out.. BUT, isn't that what HD is there for?? CUSTOMER SERVICE??? Well, lesson learned. I called SS and was put through to scheduling.. seemed my counter tops were fab'd and ready to install. So i scheduled for the earliest possible which was about 2 weeks out. OK, so 6 weeks vs 4 weeks.. but whatever, right??? Well, there was an issue with the install and it was only able to be half-done on install day. We had 2 additional appointments which we were scheduled to finish the install. Needless to say, after the missed second install (and NEVER having heard any form of communication from HD or any follow up call, NOTHING) i called HD. I was told that the manager was a bit surprised because SS is usually on the ball. I invited the manager to read the SS related reviews and then tell me that. *sigh* I'd go into more detail on the SS experience here, but this is focused on HD. To put it bluntly, HD was completely missing in this whole process except when they wanted my money. In going to HD to get my counter tops, I fully expected them to manage this relationship, provide basic customer service, provide oversight of this service, and ensure timely communications around this process as well as prompt communications around any exceptions. My expectations where utterly unmet. HD didn't provide any form of communication except when they wanted money. HD didn't provide any form of oversight, process management, nor basic customer service. They provided NO (ZERO) communications around this process and all but washed their hands of it once they received the money and handed it off to SS. This is NOT customer service and HD should be ashamed of their performance in this project. as a result, i will no longer consider HD for any future remodels i undertake. I will ensure that i also share my experience with family, friends, coworkers, and the internet. Their lack of commitment to this job and lack of customer service has turned me off from their organization. I am very unimpressed and disappointed in how HD operates with these type of projects. I would HIGHLY recommend that others look elsewhere to have their counter tops installed and to find out who the underlying subcontrator will be and research them. Just don't use HD! **UPDATE: as i'm still trying to get my refund for the corbels which i did not need, HD is looking to charge me a restocking fee for the corbels. OMG, are you SERIOUS??? It took 2.5 months to get done what was supposed to be done within a month-6 weeks. it took 3 trips by the subcontractor to get it right. HD was completely missing. I'm looking to YOU GUYS to be the expert and tell me what i need... AND THEN you're going to try to charge me a restocking fee for something you said i need that i didn't. ARE YOU SERIOUS??? Two days later, got confirmation that order was there. Drove another 40 miles to store, and order was incomplete. Try Lowe's or McCoy's or somewhere else. I won't be back here any time soon. I am writing this mainly to give a shout out to Barbara in the Kitchen department. My husband and I are building a house and our contractor asked us to try and figure out what type of materials we are wanting so he can estimate the cost of our house. Since the house isn't built yet, we were told that Home Depot couldn't help because we didn't have the house measurements yet. After calling the 800 number, I explained our situation and set up an appointment with Barbara. She was so helpful explaining the types of cabinets, the features they have, the styles and colors. She was also able to estimate the charge based on our house plans. The best part was how she put it on the computer so we could actually "see" how it would look in our kitchen. I tried going through home Depot to have my floors replaced with Pergo XP and to have my kitchen countertops replaced with granite. The install date for the floors kept being pushed back-and no exact install date was given, yet HD wanted me to pay the balance in full. I had the same issue with trying to get my countertops replaced. I'm guessing that home Depot is such a big company, they could care less to get my business, both jobs would have been almost $10K (combined). It was difficult to get ahold of someone in each specific department to get answers and clarifications, and overall the customer service was very disappointing. After much frustration with HD, I went to 2 local businesses, my floors was measured and installed within 2 weeks (more costly but opted for engineered hardwood that is glued down-not floated) and my countertops are already scheduled for install (at $1500 less than the quote I received from HD). Long story short-take your business to local companies that really appreciate your business and care about the quality of work they provide! read more

So, I'm writing this review after having dealt with Home Depot on an issue it being resolved and realizing that the resolution didn't make me happy. I buy most of my Power tools from HD especially my cordless stuff because Rigid is the HD brand, and they warranty them for life something that as a contractor appeals to me. Several years ago, I bought an Anniversary edition cordless set from the HD on Slaughter and I-35 it was the last one available and got a great deal I also love the color scheme as its way more attractive than their standard colors. I use the whole set but mostly the brushless 3 speed 1/4-inch impact driver definitely gets the most use. Mine stopped working correctly back in January it still ran but at only a low speed, so I brought it to the HD in Bastrop to fix under warranty. The associate I spoke to was brand new and didn't even know that Rigid was a Home Depot brand so I took pictures of all the receipts for covering my ass. I've went to the store several times in the last couple months to get my drill and on several occasions was told it couldn't be found and that a manager would contact me .That never happened so last week I went in and asked to speak to the GM directly .I apologize I am horrible at names but she was very nice and professional spent nearly a hour looking and then informed me my drill was lost and she was sorry. I was very understanding and told them if they replaced the drill with some extra for time and trouble it would be ok and also if they found it I wanted it beck. So this is where I screwed up and should have said something but was trying to not spend my entire day in HD I went and grabbed 2 new impact drills and went back so a ASM could ring me out and I could get back to my project.To HD's credit they did cover the cost of one of the drills but the drill that was lost was special and worth more as well as the fact that I had been there 4 times looking for my original drill and used probably 6-8 hours combined just trying to get it back. After walking out of the store i realized they had done the bare minimum (replaced a drill) but had not compensated me in any way for my time or trouble and still got mt to spend more money in their store. What I wanted is another of the anniversary drills and that's what i should have insisted on but was tired of dealing with it so didn't push the issue. I once thought Lowes employees were the greatest, I was wrong. They may have been the best in one or more other states I lived but here in the Austin Metro area the Bastrop Home Depot is number 1. I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income, I own no business yet the Pro desk manager (Johnny) goes out of his way to say hello or how ya doing and even ask if he can help us. Even when most busy he waves to us as my wife and I navigate the contractor crowd near the desk. Every Marine is taught to lead from the front,somehow,some way a civilian named Johnny was taught the same and more principles only akin to our nations finest. Being a former marine there were times when the temp was 130 degrees F and I'd have killed for a short in the A/C or my heater in the barracks working once in winter or the light working in the head to shower by, by nature we aren't whiners but I'm not embarrassed to give credit where it's due. When Johnny and his spouse move I look forward to not only doing business with his replacement but making a lifelong friend as well. You are a breath of fresh air Johnny,thank you from my wife and I. I shop in here a lot...out of necessity. Lowes across the street is my preferred home improvement store but seems to be lacking in the contractor tool dept. that's why I go to the Home Depot. I just don't feel like they care if I'm there or not. Customer service is totally lacking. There have ben times I have bought $1000 plus in lumber for a job and had to load it by myself. I visited this store today. I made a purchase of 6 metal corrugated metal panels for a total of $41.and change at a self service point. My wife asked the attendant if there was a veteran discount, and the attendant a rather large white haired elderly lady said it is a military discount, not a veterans discount. So if you served, but did not retire, you do not count . They give holders of dd214's a 10% discount only on official holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of July, etc. Days our private enterprise want to wave the flag, to attract customers. And you need a certified copy, or you might be lying. For a $4.00 discount, Home Depot nationwide has lost my business. I hope the general mgr. Is proud of her associates, and her corporate policy. Our organization, The Pillowcase Project, teaches people to sew, garden, dehydrate fruits and vegetables, as well as solar cooking and some crafts. Thank you Home Depot for your kindness and support. One of our sites had a high child mortality rate. Gardening ended this and the people are learning about health as well as gardening. It's true that anyone can make a difference and your store and staff have done just that! You are a great part of the community here and in the world. WAS in Home Depot last week and it's ben eating at me since then. I had ordered some appliances from there store in Bastrop, tx. Mr Larry had it all setup for me and I was a happy camper. Weh I went back in to talk to Larry ..some woman saying she was his boss. now I know her name is Robin tried to takde over our conversation, my order and was very very rude to me and I understand to Larry. If we were not on such a deadline I would have cancelled the entire order and gone somewhere else. Also I didnt wan to do that to Mr Larry Adams,,,such a NICE man. He took his time and worked with us to get us just what we needed. Again that woman was rude and crude. I will never buy anything else there if she has anythng to do with it.
