To put it simply, STAY AWAY! If you check my profile you'll see I only give out one star reviews sparingly (3 out of 73 before this review) but this place certainly deserves it. I fired them after they missed a couple deliveries (including one order they completely lost). This caused my crew to loose work hours and the shop to loose production because we didn't have oxygen when we needed it.
In short, I'd like to thank Praxair for being so incompetent at making deliveries on the days we scheduled them and for loosing one order all together. If it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have pulled the invoice and realized how badly we were being gouged for deliveries that were still being sent to our old address 5 months after our move. Now, with our new supplier, we are paying something like $12 or $15 per delivery, versus $70 or $80 per delivery and so far the deliveries have shown up on the day I arranged them.
My advice: shop around, and don't just compare the cost of the gas and tank rental (which is probably what my boss did when setting up this account), be sure you get all their delivery fees when you're calling too!
Here are all the gory details:
We moved in July, now in November they were still trying to send the drivers to our old address. Mind you, they aren't having ANY problem sending the bills to the RIGHT address.
When I called to find out when I could expect the truck to arrive, after they didn't show up on the day I had requested, they forwarded me to the dispatcher. I got his voice mail and left a message explaining I really needed an ETA on our oxygen since we were now completely out and production was being held up. After two hours I called again, again the person who answered the phone wanted to send me to the dispatchers voice mail. I explained I had left a message a couple hours earlier but never got an answer. He said he was sorry but that was the only person who had the info I needed. After my second voice mail I finally got a call an hour later saying he was trying to get a hold of the driver but it was illegal for them to use a phone while driving. Fine, that makes perfect sense since they are transporting various pressurized gasses but it would have been nice to know this three hours ago instead of just ignoring my message. When the driver finally arrived he told me they had sent him to our old address from 5 months previous.
Next, I pulled one of their invoices so I could compare prices when I started looking for a new supplier so I could fire these bozos. After making some calls and looking over the bill I realized how badly we were being gouged in delivery charges. I think we were paying somewhere around $70 or $80 for each delivery. From memory it went something like this:
Delivery: $30
fuel surcharge: $30
hazardous delivery charge: $10 or $15 (maybe a little more)
Then, to add insult to injury, when we asked them to pick up THEIR oxygen bottles (which we were renting from them), they had the nerve to charge us another $20 or $30 because they weren't dropping off fresh bottles. read more
