The paint department is so incompetent. It is extremely frustrating that this is my Home Depot and I have to keep having horrible experiences with your paint department. I don't know how this is even possible, but I ordered a plain white can of paint. I pick up my order, two days later I go to open my white can of paint and it is green! I came in for some paint samples, gave them to the staff member working in paint. I waited 45 minutes before asking for an update. Nobody actually started working on the samples. I had to go so I said I would be back. When I returned 2 hours later, they still hadn't made the samples. So I got to waste another hour waiting in line and for them to make the samples. I bought a very nice office chair here to be delivered. It arrived ahead of the scheduled date, which pleased me. The box had been damaged; one of the legs was slightly protruding from it. When I went to assemble it, it was obviously not new. The parts' boxes had been retaped carelessly with different-colored tapes.; only one leg was wrapped, Plus, the casters for the chair were missing. I contacted customer service, & the rep said I should return it for a refund. I insisted they have someone to pick it up as it was too big & too heavy for me to return. The rep said someone would contact me within 48 hrs re the pick-up. New chair to be delivered in 2 weeks! Damaged refrigerator was delivered. I did not notice the obvious dent in the front door because it was so wide and shallow until people mentioned it to me after I returned home from vacation. I contacted HD and they said it was greater than 48 hours so they don't help and there is no refund or assistance they can offer. I thought I would hire a dent repair guy and maybe they could pay a couple hundred bucks (on a $2k fridge) to reimburse me. If a buyer takes delivery of an item and leaves town the next day and doesn't return for 5 days I honestly don't think they should be "screwed", no pun intended. I explained that I wasn't in the house to notice the dent because they delivered at night. As soon as I was back in the house I saw the minor damage and HD didn't give two hoots because I was past the 48 hour limit. OK. Just gotta say this is the friendliest Home Depot I've ever been in. Visited on Saturday 9/7/24. Needed a few things to help my daughter get moved into her apartment. I probably had 8 different friendly people greet me and offer assistance and when I took a couple of employees up on their offer to help, they were really helpful. Thus inspiring me to write a review. It seemed to me like friendliness was contagious and we almost wanted to just hang out in the store because of that vibe. Good luck driving through the lot up front, they let everyone park all over the place with trailers and trucks blocking up everything. The guys standing at the entrances looking for work are very aggressive, they almost jump out in front of you when you pull in and they leave trash everywhere. I own my first condo, and needed a big shower, bathroom remodel. The initial consultant designated from HQ in SA was great, and advocated for me. But I had 3 shitty contractors come in to do a plumbing job, that messed stuff up, install of my sink, who used a sealant that was clearly not clear, and then because the sealent had to be removed the hardware was ruined, and I requested home depot buy me a new one. This is for Home Depot in general and not this specific location, since it was for an online order. Total idiots and terrible service. My girlfriend and I had just bought a house, and there were no appliances left (washer/dryer/refrigerator), so we had to buy new ones. I ended up buying a new set from Home Depot online, the day that we arrived in Austin (08-29) so that we'd have time before starting school/work (09-06). Since we knew that it would likely take a few days for shipping, and online it showed as arriving on 09-06, we'd have a few days without a refrigerator and would need to live out of a cooler. I ordered them immediately to ensure that we received them (fridge most importantly) in time to reduce costs. I get a call 09-05, a week after placing the order, and seeing the confirmation online that the appliances would be delivered by 09-06, that it was back ordered!! They said the earliest date they'd be able to deliver it would be 09-20! Insane, and no way we could live without a fridge for that long. What terrible service, they should have informed me immediately! To make things worse, they also didn't even have this, nor apparently any other fridge we wanted, available in store, and with delivery times so long out, it would take at least a week before getting a fridge. I ended up renting a truck, going to Lowes!, and buying it on the spot, loading the truck, and installing it myself. You lost sales and loyalty over this Home Depot! read more

My husband came in to return his tool that cost $400 something the lady that helped him to do a refund but never gave him a return receipt nor did he got one through email which was very odd and we should've came back the next day but didn't think much of it. This store wasted my time today due to their gross incompetence. I had been to the Sunset Valley store a short time earlier to buy several GFCI outlets needed for a project this afternoon. Although their computer inventory showed they had 14 units on hand, none were on the shelves, and two associates and I looked for nearly 30 minutes. The Sunset Valley store identified potential stock available at this store near St. Edward's University, and called ahead in my presence to reserve it for me at the customer service desk. It sounded like a done deal. Thirty minutes later due to a hellacious traffic jam on eastbound Ben White, I arrive at the store only to discover that the Customer Service desk has no clue what I'm talking about, nor does anyone in the Electrical Department. The stock they supposedly had? Not even on the shelf. Just an empty space. Nowhere to be found. In short, no customer service. While this would normally be a one-star review, I am giving one extra star for the associate in Electrical who tried his best and took charge at the front desk to solve the problem. While he was never able to determine what really happened, he found another store (Mueller) with the item in-stock and reserved the quantity in my name. Unfortunately, after a similar experience at two Home Depot stores in a row--both claiming to have what I needed in-stock--I went to Dealer's Electrical Supply, who had what I needed and dealt with me in an efficient and timely manner. I visited this Home Depot location in a hurry today looking for some screws I could use to mount a projector. I was wandering around the store trying to find the screws when Ismael asked how he could help. I am very mechanically uninclined, and Ismael spent 10-15 minutes with me. When we couldn't find the screw I needed, he helped see how we could use other hardware as spacers to accomplish what I wanted. We were shopping for a new refrigerator and received help from a sales associate with the title Appliance Specialist. We decided that we liked the refrigerator pictured on the left that was on their showroom floor. We took this photo in their store while comparing models. This unit was on sale for a very low price of $997 and caught our attention. However, we needed a "counter depth" model that would fit better into our kitchen than this one pictured on their showroom floor. Michelle took us over to a nearby computer to search for an equivalent model that would fit our needs on the Home Depot website. We said that we wanted a unit exactly like the one on their showroom floor, only shorter in depth (counter depth). She found one on the Home Depot website that was supposed to be exactly like this unit pictured except that it would be shorter in depth (counter depth) like what we wanted for $1,619.00. We were willing to pay the extra amount over the showroom sale model to get what we wanted. I was on the phone with work during the delivery when they set it up in the kitchen and asked me to sign the delivery document. It was not until after I was free from conversations on the phone that I discovered that the unit that they delivered did not look like the unit that was on Home Depot's showroom floor on Sunday when we visited their store. The photo on the right is the refrigerator that we received from Home Depot on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. It does not look or function anything like the refrigerator that was shown to us on Home Depot's showroom floor. It has rounded doors, a different stainless steel material and a different type of water and ice dispenser. This is not what we thought we were buying. I immediately called Home Depot to try to resolve the situation with them. However, I spent the next four hours that day and several hours over a week later being passed around many departments with no one willing to help us. We were told that they have a no returns policy for Major Appliances such as this. It says so in fine, hidden print on the product page. However, this was a complete misrepresentation of what we thought we were buying and what we actually received. Several times we have been directed to deal with our local store (Store ID: SE Austin #6542); however, Jeremy and Shawn have been complete drones with no remorse for their store's mistake, and have been completely misguided somewhere from the top culture of this company on how to deal with an unsatisfied customer. One sales associate helped us load it into the cart and take it to the saw and then he got another one to do the cuts. The gentleman who did the cuts was named Mario and he was very knowledgeable, insightful and did really great cuts for us! He offered alternative options to save us time on our shiplap project but they wouldn't work with our budget. So he still kindly proceeded to cut our wood. When we were loading the wood into our truck, 2 young gentlemen employees came back and offered their assistance. Took my normal every-other day trip to Home Depot... bought a decent amount of items. After which I walk over to the Siria the megamouth and ask "ma'am what's your name?" She replies with "I don't have to F***ing give you that!" And proceeds to speed walk away towards the pro desk... I walk to the pro desk and ask 3 other employees standing there what's her name and can I speak with a manger? None answer as the girl dashes off again, I stay put and repeat my question and one of the silent wonders say it thats the manager and points 30 feet away where megamouth is pointing at me AS IF I have done something. I wait until she walks away and I walk up to the manger who looks irritated that I'm about to say something she asks "what can I do for you?" I start to say what happens and she cuts me off to ask "what do you need?" I repeated I wanted the girls name... she gives it to me and says "what else do you need so you can go?" To which I reply nothing I need you to not allow your employees to treat customers this way or we can go shop at Lowe's. I work in customer service and have NEVER spoken to a customer like that.... I also manage the shop I work at and have sent employees home in front of the customer for being 1/10 as disrespectful as this woman... another customer standing next to me said "you go girl"... having watched and heard the whole incident because megamouth... I don't know who to aim this review at. We bought a new super cool dishwasher from Home Depot. There was nothing wrong with our old one except it didn't match the rest of our appliances. We got a GE. It's quiet and had multiple levels of cleaning. It took a week for delivery. We had it about a month and a half. Now it doesn't work. When we called Home Depot they directed us to GE for warranty. My final stop on the clothing store, fabric store, hardware store 2x day. I give HoDe a lot of grief and flack, but really, when you need something for your domicile, they are the place to go. Since buying my house, I am on a seemingly endless cycle of buying things at Home Depot, realizing that they are not the right things, returning them and buying other stuff. Then repeating the cycle. I have bought everything from my garage door opener here, to coupling for my fridge water line, to rat poison (fun!), and today, a 12" 1/8 drill bit. I really only need 4" but whatever. After dealing with the incompetency of Harbor Freight and also the HoDe staffer who came over and told me that there was not a 1/8" bit longer than 3" until I pointed to the 12" one and said, "Isn't that a 1/8" bit that is longer than 3"?", I was not going to split hairs. I was going to go on a tirade about how since I'm a woman, I must not know anything about drill, or drill bits, or anything unless it's about raising babies and giving BJs, but, I mean, it's all too obvious that that is what is going on here. Anyway, lack of helpful help notwithstanding, Home Depot is good for all that junk you need for your house. I purchased a chest freezer from Home Depot less than two years ago. It broke. I was less than pleased. The manufacturer (Magic Chef) was unwilling to repair or replace the item. A friend suggested contacting Home Depot. I did, and they provided phenomenal customer service. I called their corporate office and was transferred. I expected this to continue for hours. Rather, they were extremely professional and told me a representative from the 78704 store would contact me. They did within an hour, and they obviously had taken the time to review my situation and complaint with the faulty piece of merchandise, as well as the extremely poor customer service from Magic Chef. We had a brief conversation, the manager Brad did some research, and came back to me with an offer to replace the freezer with the closest thing they had in stock. They delivered the freezer the next day and took away the broken freezer for no additional charge. I could not be happier with Brad, the 78704 Home Depot, and their corporate office. read more
