Called Home Depot extended warranty department set up a repair on our refrigerator lights on Monday. We were told that this company which is also call Appliance Doctor would be contacting us to confirm the appointment for Thursday. Nobody called on Tuesday. We called Wednesday morning, did not even got a voicemail, just a Spanish script and no beep tone, could not even leave a message. No contact from these folk all day Wednesday. An f'ing nightmare. They were supposed to deliver the washer last Saturday. Ooops, they forgot to load the washer. Then they show up Monday morning He couldnt get the hot water to turn off. He comes gets me, tells me to disconnect, then with hot water spewing everywhere proceeds to tell me: 1) you will have to get that fixed 2) oh, and he 'thought' that might happen when he told me to diconnect it. Wish I would have looked at reviews before purchasing from here. I WILL say that the associates are very friendly but not always knowledgeable. However, the fridge I purchased from here broke down over a month ago. It took 4 different serviceman over 5 DIFFERENT service days to get the issue resolved. My ice maker still isn't working and it's been over month. We had to throw out so many groceries. Communication between the serviceman seems to be non-existent because I kept being told different things by different people about their protocol and when they'd be in for service. My washer and dryer were delivered refurbished and I knew there was going to be rust. Besides a few spots of rust and wear/tear, the washer and dryer almost seem brand new. They are running well and I have had them for about a month now. The only problem I had with the company was the communication. It took about two, almost three weeks to get my washer/dryer delivered, but that still isn't bad. I didn't have to ask too many questions and he answered all of mine. If I could have given them a -5 I would have. We purchased refrigerator from Home Depot with maintenance plan. Maintenance plan is through Asurion. Asurion apparently found the worst appliance repair company in the entire city. These people are not competent to fix anything. They do not troubleshoot to determine why the part broke. They do not have service vehicles, just come in a car with a little tool pouch. Parts are ordered and sent to the customer's home THEN comes the struggle to get someone to answer the phone to let them know the part came in and find out when they will come out. Promises are made 'as soon as the part is in, let us know, we will come back same day.' Promises are not kept. Our refrigerator has been out for 4 weeks and it may be almost another week before they will come back and try again. How can I describe this place and the service they provide. THE WORST I EVER HAD. It's impossible to get a hold of them over the phone, if you miraculously do get them, they schedule the maintenance or repair but never show up and never call. Hookup is incompetent. My washer on the first day flooded mine and downstairs apartment, they bring me another one, it breaks within a month. When you buy, they say that you have 13 month warranty, but when something breaks turns out that only first 30 days is free repair and anything over 30 days you have to pay for parts. I really should have listened to the reviews, but I wanted to save money, now I have to pay for damage in 2 apartments plus buy a new washer anyway AND they won't pick up their dam* phone. read more

I called and left voicemails, in addition to emailing several times. I never heard back and the emails would bounce back days later with "delivery incomplete" or "recipient inbox full." Tl;dr They sell cheaply fixed appliances that inevitably break, and then don't follow through with their "premium" product warranty repairs. Another Update: our fridge has broken again - fifth time - and we called to have them come do their short term "refill the Freon" fix... and their phone no longer works. My partner called multiple times over three days and it just rings, tells you they aren't available, and hangs up. Beyond bummed. Update: our refrigerator broke for the fourth time. They came out yet again and refilled it with Freon.. five days later.. we had an actual professional come out and look at the fridge and he said that affordable appliances used poor quality after market parts to prepare the fridge before we purchased it, and that repairing it now would cost upwards of $700. Wow. Literally never been so unhappy with a company. Do not, under any circumstance, purchase anything from Affordable Appliances. Though their prices are good, their products and service are absolutely horrendous. We purchased a refrigerator from them for ~$800 in May; the refrigerator had stopped cooling three times now already. We also purchased a warranty - it is worthless. we called the first time we had this issue and it took a tech three days to come out, then told us he was just there to take a quick look, and another repairman came the next day to add Freon. The second time, the issue was the same. It took four days for someone to come out and add Freon, and this time a dye so they'd be able locate a leak the "next time". Well, it's "NEXT TIME" now, and they had us schedule another appointment... and never showed up. It's a 5 Hour time window where they may show, so we waited from 10am-3pm for them to show this past Friday, and NOTHING. Our freezer is warm AGAIN, our food is melting, and they aren't open - since they have ridiculous hours. Can't leave a message, haven't been able to get anyone out here to fix it. Let me start by saying I always check reviews of stores before buying anything from them, but in this case I did not because we were in a hurry to buy a washer and dryer that was affordable but still worked. So 2 weeks ago I bought the washer and dryer online. I noticed the no refunds, but I didn't not think anything of it because I knew used appliances are normally that way. I am fairly busy so I left my roommate deal with the delivery since she works closer to our apartment. The website says they will deliver next available delivery and to call for details. So my roommate calls and they say they will deliver that next Saturday between 1 and 5. Well, 5:00 comes around and no one calls or shows up. We wait thinking they could be busy and finally someone calls at 8:00 and says that it is too late and he wants to go home and he would promise delivery on Monday. Monday comes and we ask for a delivery after 5:00 since we both work late. They say they can't promise us a time but we can be the last stop of the day. No one shows up and finally at 8:00 they call and say that they are going to be there in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later they call saying they can't find our apartment and come to find out they don't even have the correct address for us. They finally get there and they put in the washer and dryer really quickly turn it on and say we should be good. So we look inside and the washer is all dirty inside. That should have been our first clue, but we just wiped it out and ran a small load to make sure everything is okay. Everything seemed fine. Fast forward to the next night my roommate and I put in a big load of laundry and we run out to the store not even 15 minutes and we come back to the apartment completely flooded. We had to call our emergency maintenance people and they have to vacuum up all of the water and then tear out the padding under the carpet because it was all ruined. The maintenance people look at our washer and see that the technicians did not hook up the drain hose and that is why it flooded. We then try and hook up the hose and see that they put a horrible excuse for a clamp on the drain hose and it comes right off with just the slightest pressure. So, we go to buy a new clamp and put it on. We run another small load and see that the hose also has a leak as well as there is something wrong with the pump and it's leaking out of the bottom as well. After the washer flooded the apartment we have tried to get ahold of them multiple times to tell them and to try and get someone to fix it and no one will answer the phone or call back. My roommate said the answering machine says they are switching phone services and to text a number so she has done that and we have heard nothing. I went to their website and see that their Maintenance sight is "under construction" which is also another sign. After all of this, I looked at other reviews and saw other people have had the same problems. This is a sad excuse for a business and a company! Do not buy into this scam go somewhere else to buy appliances it is not worth it! The only good thing that we got out of this is a working dryer and who knows how long that will last seeing the washer is horrible. read more

One of the worst experiences I've had buying something and getting it delivered. In person in-store the lady is helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. BUT, we bought a w/d set in a Friday, set for delivery the following Monday evening. We are waiting around all night and it never gets delivered! Driver does not pick up phone, so I call in the morning to get it delivered ASAP but apparently they weren't able to until Wednesday, even though it was scheduled for Monday AND I live less than 2 miles away. It finally gets delivered on wednesday, but that is after several unanswered calls, a lot of time on hold, and no one apologizing once or even acknowledging any frustration I might have. I DID get a good deal so I'm giving 2 stars, but that's really the only reason. Once they get your money you get terrible customer service and a huge lack of communication.... read more

I have had the most negative history dealing with Affordable Appliance (particulary Kevin at the south Austin location) over the last couple of months. I purchased a GE refridgerator in May. Once delivered and set up, the control panel went out the very next day just as my new tenants were getting ready to move in. The part was allegedly ordered but after waiting over a week for an update, that part had still not come in. Kevin agreed to pick up the GE and take it back to the store and place a "loaner" fridge until the part came in. The part NEVER came in, so he agreed to swap it out for another fridge. I picked out a Maytag which was comparable. Once that was installed my new tenants reported to me that the freezer wasn't maintaining temperature and kept defrosting and they had to throw food out that had thawed. Kevin sent a technician to go look at it and found "nothing was wrong" however to "appease" my tenants ordered a new control panel for the Maytag. After another 10 days of waiting with a dysfunctional unit they installed the new control panel which did NOT fix the issue at all. When I reported this to Kevin, he denied and said that was "impossible" and became argumentative. Kevin has been rude and disrespectful to me, not offering any other solutions to fix it. So since he was not competent enough to consider another source of the problem, and granted this unit came with a 13 month warranty, I wanted a 2nd opinion on what could be causing this ongoing issue with it not maintaining freezing temperature. What I found out was that the freezer door slides were corroded and rusted and therefore not closing properly, causing the compressor to kick into a repetitive defrost cycle. Now that I had an accurate diagnosis, I presented this to Kevin. Instead of looking at the report, he threw it back to me and told me that I had voided the warranty by having another technician look at it. This technician did not fix or repair anything, I only had him look at it for the sake of finding a diagnosis to the issue so we could go another direction with the repair, since Kevin has been non compliant in fixing it. So now I have a fridge that he's to stupid to fix and refuses to honor my warranty now. That's deplorable behavior. They are crooks and they don't back up what they sell. read more

We also bought a washer and dryer which also needed immediate repair. Hidden fees pop up in their "free" repair warranty. The only upside is that the repair guy has a great can-do attitude. If I could put 0 stars I would. The reason they offer 13 months of free repair is that what they sell is broken, and no one will come out and fix it. Within a month of purchasing a washer and dryer set, the dryer stopped producing heat. We called to have someone come out and fix it. This has been a two-week process and they have stood us up three times (so far). The unbelievable process: 1st call: We got a window of "all day Monday" and that the person would call a half hour before so my husband could get back from work on time to let them in. My husband received a call five minutes before. They rescheduled. 2nd call: The technician said he would come in the morning. My husband stayed home from work all morning, then finally had to go in at 1pm. The guy called late that afternoon, then blamed my husband for not being home... 3rd call: We rescheduled for today. We have family in town and didn't go anywhere all day because they promised they would come before 3pm. My husband called, the woman put him on hold for 30 mins., then confirmed they would still come. They never did. 4th call: The same woman rudely said "There's nothing I can do about them not coming. I'm not in control of them! How is Monday?" (You could maybe express to the technician that this is high priority?) My husband said that he couldn't stay home from work AGAIN. She put my husband on hold. He waited 45 mins. I called and they closed for the day. The woman just left him on hold and went home for the day. We have a family of five and no dryer. This has been a nightmare. Bottom line: They are rude, my guess is that they don't check their merchandise to see that it works and instead just depend on their technicians to fix them, but they don't show up. read more

My husband and I were in the market for a stacked washer and dryer because we would be moving soon. I started looking for places a week ahead of time so everything would be ready by our move in date. AAP was not to far from where I was moving so I thought this would work out perfect. We went in on a Saturday Which was June 24, 2017 and asked the lady at the desk do they sells stacked washers dryer units. She informed me they did, but she didn't have any to sell right then they were at the warehouse. I asked how much do they normally go for because I am interested. She said about $350 for small units and $450 for the larger ones. She asked when did I need it I told her my move in date and she informed me she could have it there once I moved, which worked out for us. I told her we would be moving in a week. She gave me her card with a coupon for $20 dollars off. So a week later Which is July 1, 2017 I am ready to get my washer I called but didn't get a answer so I went to the store and asked if the unit had come in and she said no it wasn't on the truck that week and told me It would be on the following weeks truck which would be I said ok no big deal I thought maybe they just forgot it. I went the following Thursday Which was July 6, 2017 and still no unit which has got me to thinking why are they not bringing it if they have it. She gives me a $40 off coupon for the trouble. The sales agent assured me that it would be on the truck the following Thursday July the 13th and I could come by and see it on that Friday the 14th once I get off. Once I get off I go by there to see the unit the sales agents tells me its in the back getting cleaned up, and she could send me pictures of it when he was done cleaning it. I said no I will wait because I need to see what it looks like. She then goes to the back and another guy comes and asks if I need help I said no I am just waiting to see this unit. He says your the one for the washer and dryer I said yes. He said we are back here cleaning it so its going to take a while we can send you the pictures once it done. I asked what kind of cleaning are you doing to it that would take so long he said oh just fixing the knobs, and making sure everything works. I left and proceeded to call other places to find a unit some where else because I felt like it was some shady business going on. The other places I called were closed so I decided I will just call tomorrow which was Saturday the 15th. But still not pictures of the unit from AAP so I went once again to the store and told the sales agent I need to see this unit because I don't have time for this and I can take my business else where she then says you won't find them any cheaper than we have, I said you are not the only business in town and then took me to see it. I usually keep an open mind about things and remain optimistic but what they showed me was a complete mess the unit was falling apart the knobs were off and it was dented beyond what I had intended. I knew these were used appliances but goodness this was horrible. I left immediately and got on yelp an Alberto's Appliances came up and I called and told the young lady what I wanted she informed me they could help and told me to come by and see what they had. I did and fell in love with a unit they had that could be made into a stacked unit. The cost was $500 for both and I would have them Monday the 17th. I am so happy Alberto's was there to help me and the unit works perfect you can hardly hear them in my laundry room. I purchased a refrigerator washer and dryer back in October of 2016 I have had them come to my home approximately 12 times since then, it is now may 2017 (7months & 12+visits is ridiculous!!). They have had to replace my refrigerator and the washer within that time frame. When I purchase the refrigerator obviously we had Thanksgiving and Christmas when you have lots of food in the fridge and need to preserve. I had to throw the food away because fridge was not staying cold enough. I could not maintain a 1/2 gallon of milk for longer than a day or 2 Max! I threw away food for over 2 months because of this issue until he replaced the fridge. Then That fridge did the same thing for about 2 weeks. Every time I called to have them repair it it always took them about a week to come fix it. and then Once the replacement fridge, the water button kept getting stuck and all they would do is pop it out but if I were to switch from Ice to water or water to ice the button will become stuck and I was unable to go back to water then Kevin tries to tell me that I purchased the refrigerator like that so I would have to pay for the parts (brand new because he didnt have 1) on top of that when I am paying for the insurance (they offer) for him to be able to repair the all the appliances. What they do is they get old or used appliances and do not bother to test them out completely repair them in order to sell them to you. In addition when I did receive the fridge(both of them) it still had mold on the inside and was dirty so I had to clean the fridge myself before being able to use it. Kevin the manager has always giving me the runaround blames his employees 4 not doing their job correctly but yet all Kevin tries to do is put a Band-Aid on every issue. It has been a hassle a headache and a complete waste of money not only on the appliances but on all the wasted food especially during the holiday months! All in all the employees the repairman the delivery men and even the lady who always answer the phone are great! Kevin is a problem! He does not do well with customer service he does not try to make it right he only tries to fix it with Bubblegum and tape! He really does not try to give you a good efficient reliable appliance! I have only had services with this company for about a month and I am already extremely dissatisfied. I put in and paid $400 for my order on 04/17/17 and had my items delivered in a timely manner in order to move into my new home on 05/01/17. Upon arrival the appliances were working what seemed to be normally. After about a week and a half, my refrigerator (and my trust in the company) declined. My fridge suddenly stopped getting cold on 05/11/17 so i called to report this issue to have someone come out to fix it as i had just spent over $200 on groceries on 05/10/17 and fully stocked it. The manager advise that he had a full schedule with workers and could not come out to fix my fridge until 05/13/17. After asking for a time that they would be out so that I could make sure I was home they gave me the wide time range of sometime between 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. The worker arrived around 2:30 PM and after looking at the fridge advised me that there was a part missing and that he knew exactly what was wrong with it but he couldn't come back out for another two days as he was busy with other orders that day and they were closed the next day. The manager came out himself (which I greatly appreciated at the time) on 05/15/17 and stated that he had found the problem and could fix it. He also mentioned that the previous guy who came out advised him that he had no clue what was wrong with the fridge (that was a lie). The manager fixed it with a temporary part that he had available and said that this part would last about 2 weeks while he went back to the store and ordered the permanent part that was needed. Only two days after on 05/17/17 the fridge stopped working again which caused more of my food to spoil than the first few days. The part he promised would last at least two weeks only lasted 2 days and their company policy says no refunds. This company only has a no refund policy in place because they know exactly what they are doing, which is taking people's money. They should come out and replace my entire fridge with a newer model for free or even for a VERY SMALL fee as they have caused me to lose money due to spoiling food, lies, and broken promised. We are now trying to get them replaced or returned but keep getting the run-around from the manager. BEWARE THIS PLACE. They claim to sell value but it seems more like they are selling a lie. The manager is coming to repair the appliance on Wednesday. After the appointment, I will follow up this review with the result. As of now, we are severely disappointed in this "establishment"......... the manager sent over two new comparable units under the warranty last Wednesday. They seem to be working ok so far. My impression is that this place sells repair services under the guise of a "warranty" more than they do a reliable product. read more

Omg, these folks suck. They delivered a whirlpool dryer all scratched up when they said I was getting a GE. My receipts says GE too. When I went to use it a few days after installed for the first time, it did not dry my clothes. We called Monday am and scheduled it for delivery today, 11-24-2017. I've called for confirmation 6 times and sent 3 texts. Nada..They won't answer. WHAT LOOSERS. Im going to the news stations to SHUT these folks DOWN.. I should have read yalls reviews to know better. Now have to start all over. What a wasted two weeks. read more
