Gave Berlin Currywurst a shot at Grand Central Market and... yeah, not impressed. The sausage tasted like it had been sitting out too long, dry and sorta tough. The bun wasn't any better, pretty stale honestly. For the price they charge, I expected something fresh and flavorful, but it really missed the mark. Also didn't feel super clean in there which didn't help the vibe. 2 stars only cause the service was ok, but def not worth coming back for.

Not the best experience at Grand Central Market. The service was friendly and ordering was easy but the food was surprisingly slow to cook and it wasn't as tasty as we had hoped, given the wait time. We ordered the Paprika Pork Sausage with Paprika Garlic and it was swimming in curry sauce. Too much sauce made it very difficult to taste the actual flavor of the sausage. We were planning on ordering a couple more items, but we weren't overwhelmed with our experience as it was, so we decided to move on. Next time. I'll ask for the sauce on the side and I'll make sure I have the time to wait.

We had an early break for lunch today in LA, so I walked a coworker over to Grand Central Market since I knew there would be lots of options. We both decided that today was a wurst kind of day. He ordered the currywurst at level 3 of heat with fries. I had the Nurnberger sausage with the appropriate fixings and roasted potatoes. My sausage rivaled those I had in Vienna recently! The staff was super friendly, too. The shop is right in the midst of Grand Central Market, so it's busy, but not overwhelming. The decor is sparse, but not unusual for a small stall vendor. I would definitely come back here!

Located near one end of the Grand Central Market. + Breakfast Sandwich with Pork Sausage and Egg ($9): yes to caramelized onions, sauerkraut and loaded up on spicy, sweet, and normal mustard. Thick, juicy bratwurst in a huge bun (7.3/10)

So good. Hard to find good sausage that is packed with flavor but this place totally delivers. I've probably walked by it a hundred times and I really should have given it a try sooner.

The Grand Central Market is an exciting and vibrant spot to go to in LA especially during night time. It is a spot filled with tons of food options and passing by Berlin Currywurst definitely had my interest. I figured why not try it. The customer service is friendly and their menu is simple. I ordered the Bratwurst and Nürnberger Bratwurst. Each was $8 which for the portions you get some might not consider amazing value, but I expected prices to be a little inflated in a location like this. The Bratwurst is your typical pork and Nürnberger being veal and pork. I was excited to try both and I doubted they would be the wurst I've had. I like the sauce they use for the sausages and they are pretty tangy. You can't go wrong with either sausage. They have a good texture and plenty of flavor. They also sell pretzels and they were actually pretty good too. Very soft and warm which a good amount of salt. I would recommend ordering one to go with the sausages even though the sausages some with bread. Berlin Currywurst is a solid spot worth trying out if you ever visit the Grand Central Market.

I got the sausage hash with paprika sausage and it was delicious! I really liked how crispy the potatos were even though they were on the bottom. The egg added a nice touch. The only thing is that the dish is more on the saltier end, so I definitely had to chug water after a couple bites.

Great place to get sausage in Grand Central Market. It has lots to choose from, including a sausage made of tofu. Berlin Currywurst sounds like it has lots of meats, and it does for certain. Even so, there's a few plant based options. There's also beers on tap, which always go good with any sausage. At lunch we came to look around and didn't think we would get anything from this choice. It's actually got more options than you think it has. There's a few beers on tap. It's about $7 for the cheapest pint. The prices aren't that bad for the market it seems. It's $8 for the Tofu Kielbasa. This is the option for vegans. Before we didn't think there would be any. We saw the menu and that's when we thought to get some stuff. As for this it was a pretty big one. This came topped with onions and sauerkraut. Add mustard to make it even better. This isn't exactly healthy but it's a lot healthier than the meat options. Have some sausage on a bun. It's not bad prices for the market. There's even sausage for vegans and vegetarians.

The German entry for the street food at Grand Central Market. When I went, most of the tables had filled with regulars (some speaking German) and it took both the waitress and the cook 15 minutes to notice me and take my order. I wasn't really bothered, most of their regulars had some love for this place and seemed to gravitate towards the bar. Noticing my confusion some of them gave some pretty bomb recommendations. This was my second taste of currywurst in a more mainstream setting. This version is definitely more ketchup heavy but it kinda works. Especially if you got a sausage and the fries. But I had a good time and if you're in the area for a work lunch, try it.

Of all the food stalls in Grand Central Market this is the one I've been meaning to try the longest. But it's hard to compete against the myriad of choices that food hall has to offer. But I got a chance to try it out last night and I wasn't disappointed by my choice. That nürnberger hit the spot with a choice and juicy blend of veal and pork. I also upped the heat to a 3 out of 5 so it had good burn going into my mouth. And obviously the sauerkraut and onions had to go on too. I would so order this again. I originally griped about them not having breakfast all hours, but it turns out they do. I must have missed the notice it was all day. Bumped them up a star for my error. When I go back to definitely try the non-bun currywurst style because I've been reading that's a more authentic experience.

Brattin' It Up!! Stopped here before the Dodger game and tried the Veal/Pork sausage with Sauerkraut and German fries. It was outstanding, great taste all around, especially with a little brown mustard. The bun is a bit much, every other bite had some of the sausage, just a note, bring that bun/sausage ratio up a bit. The fries were tasty on their own, and with ketchup or mayo. I wouldn't have complained if there were a bit more crispier, but that's just one more nitpick. Overall, this spot is left, I will be returning next time I'm at GCM, and pair with a beer.

Berlin Currywurst is located inside Grand Central Market. My date and I actually came here since another vendor missed one of our orders. I low key think my date was traumatized the last time I was hangry, so he wanted to make sure I had a decent overall meal portion. First you choose your sausage, my date opted for the Paprika which has pork, paprika and garlic. Then you choose a style, which he opted for in a bun with sauerkraut and onions. The one really nice thing was that they cut it in half for us to easily share. And we also shared a Topo Chico mineral water. The bread was hard and dry, but I actually liked the sausage. My date mentioned trying this spot prior and he couldn't taste too much difference from the original Brat and the Paprika. I saw the red speaks in there and the sausage tasted good but I definitely didn't get any paprika notes either. I was over it with the bread halfway through and I just finished the sausage. Considering their primary product is the sausage, I would say it is fairly successful. I just wouldn't opt for the bread in the future if there was an opportunity to come back.

The fries here are spectacular. Seriously some of the best fries I've had. I ordered the tofu wurst since I don't eat meat. It was average, on the dry side. Maybe I was supposed to order sauerkraut with it, I don't know. It was tasty, but dry. The sauces are delicious. The employees are nice. Overall I recommend it and would come by again for the fries and to try the tofu wurst with sauerkraut and see if there was a difference in moisture.

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy, my boyfriend got the Hungarian brat with spaetzle, and our friend ordered the Hungarian brat on a roll. Starting with the schnitzel: it wasn't completely terrible, but it definitely wasn't good. The breading was some what soggy and sliding off the chicken, and the chicken itself had almost no seasoning besides an odd lemony sourness. The mashed potatoes were honestly awful -- extremely sour, like they were overloaded with sour cream but missing butter, salt, or any real flavor. I LOVE mashed potatoes and only managed two bites before giving up. The red cabbage was overcooked, mushy, and had a slightly off taste. Overall, the schnitzel plate was maybe a 2/10, and those points go solely to the fact that the chicken itself was technically edible. My boyfriend's meal somehow managed to be worse. The bratwurst was fine, but tasted frozen and reheated rather than fresh. The sauerkraut, according to him, "tasted like dirty socks." The spaetzle was genuinely offensive -- mushy, overly bland, and tossed with what looked like hydrated diced mushrooms that literally tasted like dirt. I honestly questioned whether it had gone bad. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself felt dirty and had a strange smell throughout. It honestly seems like a place locals may still visit out of habit or convenience, but it no longer reflects what I imagine it once was. It's unfortunate, because there's something special about a restaurant that's been around for 65 years and still tries to maintain its old-school charm. Sadly, the food and cleanliness just don't live up to that legacy anymore. Save your money unless you're only stopping in for an overpriced German draft beer. We definitely won't be back.

We were daunted by the 1.5 hr drive to where we were staying and hoped that eating closer would save some time later. It did! Rasselbock is a bit hidden away but we found it with street metered parking nearby. We had arranged for a reservation but we hardly needed it. The place was mostly empty when we arrived. Music was thumping, and not German music. It was classic rock but a touch too loud. So keep that in mind. I appreciated that they had Erdinger beer. That's some of the best beer around. I chose the non alcoholic since I had a drive ahead. I was told it might not be cold enough and the server brought me the bottle to sample it by touch. I cheerfully noted Germans don't drink very cold beer and it was fine. My wife and I ordered schnitzels, she chicken and I pork. She had the Oma's potato salad - which with mustard and mayo really would not have passed muster with a real Oma like mine. She reported it was good anyway. I had spaetzle and cucumber dill salad. The kids both had a bratwurst, salad and fries. On the whole the schnitzels were good. Not entirely authentic but USA-good enough. I'd say the same for my spaetzle and salad. One kid liked the bratwurst, one didn't. I found what I tried of the sausage to be pretty good. The stone ground mustard was particularly good. Service was a little slow to start but the food came quickly and we were off. A 4.2 rounds to a flat 4. German food is hard to come by anywhere, so I welcome it. Especially with a good selection of beer. They serve multiple sizes included a liter "mass." Sounds great but I think those days are behind me. Definitely worth a try.

Disappointingly quiet, we entered the cozy restaurant adorned by newspaper clips, polish coats of arms, and were greeted by our friendly waiter. I had the meat patties ($24) which were delectable. Rich ground beef and pork spiced perfectly and fried with an accompanying gravy. Rich, but not greasy. My wife had the chicken schnitzel ($30) which was good but not groundbreaking, and the kids a number of perogis ($25) I found excellent. Accompanying the two adult meals was soup (a delectable tomato and a surprisingly sour savory pickle) and salad. We concluded with a delicious strawberry jam crepe ($15, see photo). The soup and meat paddies were the strongest entries on the menu that evening. The service was warm and genuine, taking our order, giving recommendations, communicating in polish as per our preference, and the restaurant was cozy and clean.
