Really enjoyed a lighter lunch during our visit to DTLA, with the food tasting very good for both my wife and me. Killer Kabab (fast food mediterranean) has two locations, with the other being in the Sawtelle area near West LA. There are multiple Kabab shops near the hotel that we were staying, so chose the closest one. It wasn't too busy inside, with plenty of seating so placed our order and paid through the kiosk. The food took a bit of time to come out, delivered to our table. No soda fountain, so got a can of soda ($1.99) which you pick up yourself from the nearby bev fridge. We shared a Mix Grill plate ($21.95), consisting of a variety of things, all of which we enjoyed. The bed of tumeric rice was well cooked. The beef fillet, chicken breast chunks, and the beef kofta were all excellent: very tender, well seasoned, and well grilled. A few grilled vegetables were added, along with a really good plain hummus and pita braed. It also came with two side dips/pastes: a really good garlic paste that went great with the grilled beef and a yellow 'buttery' sauce that was great with the chicken. We were parked on Figueroa Street and decided to save some money by walking to this restaurant. The food was so good and filling, with me having some delicious Hummus and Pita Bread while my friend had kabobs. Service seemed slow, but the food was fresh, so well worth the wait. Nothing to write home about the area or the atmosphere, as this is more an eat and run type of restaurant, with many workers only getting a half hour lunch. I want to like killer kabab but every time it just misses. They give me lots of meat with no sauce in my gyro no hummus no tzatziki it's always so dry it hurts my feelings. A friend and I went here for a quick dinner bite before an event downtown. Not greeted when we walked in and decided to order on the digital board. Not knowing the routine, we sat ourselves and staff brought out our food but not drinks. We were told that we had to do ourselves from a refrigerator. And one drink wasn't available and what we got us an alternative was less expensive. We didn't have time to figure out the cost difference because we were off to an event but the digital ordering system should be updated on what's in stock or not for something as simple as drinks. I see that it's still Mediterranean food but now it's (rebranded???) to killer kabab and it looks like z falafel moved to another location. Both their websites look the same. We chose this place because dude it was walking distance from our other event so we wouldn't have to re-park. It was clean and bright. The staff were friendly. You order on a tap screen which is easy enough and they bring bout the good. I requested water which they provided but they had no ice. The shawerma fries were ok though the fries were not crisp, the salmon plate was ok though the rice tasted bland, the chicken kabab wrap was ok though the pickles in it had a strange texture. Came here because the reviews were really good, and I left disappointed and underwhelmed. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. The photos made it look extremely appealing, however what I received was not anything like what was advertised. The Chicken Shawarma is supposed to have fries in it and there was literally only two fries in my wrap, the chicken was dry, the wrap was dry, there was hardly any sauce on it, and the flavor was extremely underwhelming. They had nice green seats and pretty standard square tables including one for those who operate a wheelchair. The two workers seemed pleasant and didn't seem annoyed that I took my time to order. I ended up going with the mixed veggies plate for 16 dollars not including tax or tip. The food like I said was not too bad. The actual wrap was underwhelming to me however. I did not really like the fact that they use dark and light meat for the shawarma. Z Falafel serving up all the delicious Mediterranean eats! Visited this past Friday afternoon for lunch and noticed a good lunch crowd so I knew it was going to be great. We had the combo platter consisting of a red cabbage salad, green cabbage salad, Mediterranean salad, rice, and a few meat varities along with fries and falafels (can't go go Z Falafel without getting them)! All the salads were absolutely light, refreshing, and the dressing was delicious. I always enjoyed a good chicken shawrma and this place did not disappoint. The fries and falafel were super crispy to my liking. Considering the restaurant is in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, I was quite surprised by the reasonable prices. Soo delicious! Parking is a little hard to find, street parking or if you go to Ralph's across the street there is 90 min free parking with validation! You have to show your receipt to the parking attendant but no one was there when I went. I tried a chicken kabob plate with beef kafta. Their beef kafta meat is so good. There's so much flavor and the meat is so tender and juicy. The chicken was so so fresh and juicy. I really loved their rice and fresh made hummus. Their falafel is really good. I usually don't like falafel but ZFalafel has very crispy falafel and inside it's soft and seasoned super well. I also got their Greek fries which were so crispy with yummy feta cheese. And don't forget their baklava for dessert. Not too sweet but perfectly crispy just the way baklava was meant to be. The food here is very flavorful and well made. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful when helping you decide what to eat so that made the experience even better. If you're in the mood for Mediterranean, this is a must try spot! I ordered the combo plate with half chicken and half beef shawarma. The guy literally unwrap a plastic bag and threw pieces of meat onto the griddle. I thought shawarma was supposed to be roasted and cut off directly from the vertical rotisserie. The meats for my plate was stirred fried... See picture. Not only does Z-Falafel have a ton of options, but vegan and vegetarian ones as well, which makes this guy very happy.... Literally something for everyone even some naturally gluten free friendly options. I took my time studying over the menu upon strolling... The veggie plate is a hearty meal with grape leaves, falafel and much more. The wraps and pitas are on another level as well as served with fries. Z's makes arguably the best falafel in Los Angeles, ten out of ten for the win! They offer bottled and canned beveragd for sale and a few cool dessert as well. I knew when I walked in and spotted some familiar cookies via Lenny & Larry's this was going to be a good experience.
