I showed up at the start of the day with no appt and a warning light that was flickering. I was traveling, it was a Friday, and I was really worried I would not be able to get my car looked at and prepared to need to stay the day. Austin got me in right away, was friendly, helpful, and the problem was fortunately minor. I was on my way in under 1.5 hours. Also, with the oil change, they sent me a video of the inspection- a nice touch! A great waiting area with water, coffee and cold beverages! I returned to my purchasing dealership for a standard oil change and tire rotation, but what should have been a routine service quickly turned into a series of frustrating problems. 1. **The Car Wash Incident:** At check-in with Austin, I clearly stated that my car had been detailed the day before and requested that they do not wash it, as I always request when coming in for service. This was crucial because my previous experience with Kia involved them washing my brand-new black car with brushes, which scratched the paint and required professional buffing to fix--an expense I had to cover myself, not Bergstrom. 2. **The Misleading Information:** After the service, Austin walked me to my car, during which I noticed water running down the trunk. When I asked if the car had been washed, he assured me that it had only gotten slightly wet, was promptly dried, and no brushes were used. He even told me to check my dash cam. When I did, my dash cam footage revealed a full car wash with brushes, squeegees, and rags--contradicting what I was told. 3. **Scratches and Water Spots:** Upon returning home, I found my car covered in water spots and, worse, my entire car covered in scratches. My freshly detailed and recently buffed car now looked as though it had been washed with steel wool. 4. **The Manager's Response:** I reached out to Tim, the service manager, who agreed to cover the cost of re-buffing my car and reimburse me for the detailing I had done the day before. However, it was clear that despite my repeated requests, the dealership's staff continued to ignore my instructions not to wash my car. I've heard from three different Bergstrom employees that the brushes scratch. Yet, they continue to use them. 5. **The Final Disappointment:** Tim and general manager Tom then decided and informed me that they would no longer service my vehicle. "It comes with a heavy heart to say I believe it's in the best interest that we no longer service your vehicle." This decision felt like a slap in the face, especially after my patience and clear communication. 6. **The Inadequate Compensation:** To add insult to injury, I was given a $25 gift card after requesting compensation. This gesture felt like a poor attempt to placate me rather than addressing the real issue of respect and professionalism. I now have to drive 30 minutes to Oshkosh to service my Kia instead of going to Appleton. In summary, Bergstrom Kia Appleton has lost a customer over a simple request that was ignored and mishandled. If you value clear communication and respectful service, you might want to consider other options. The lack of professionalism and disregard for customer preferences here is truly disappointing. We were delightfully surprised to find that they'd abandoned commissioned sales and instead focus on an efficient, customer-friendly buying experience--complete with the fanciest coffee-espresso machine I've ever seen at a dealership. I will not revisit Bergstrom Kia of Appleton. Walked in and test drove two vehicles, was going to take one of them. They provided an offer for my trade (I already knew it's value prior to arriving in addition to getting other offers from other dealerships). They came in at double UNDER what others offered for my vehicle, which was in beautiful condition. It was actually insulting. Instead of trying to keep me there and sell me one of the vehicles, the salesperson let me get up and walk away. That is because they are paid on salary, not commission. I am a commissioned sales professional and whether or not I get paid, it is about the customer and their experience. I will not be returning nor will I refer others. My wife took our car for service because of a persistent ticking sound coming from the back while driving. After waiting for nearly an hour and a half, the technician claimed they took it for a "test drive" and found/heard nothing. Interestingly, the mileage count on the service paperwork didn't change, indicating they didn't actually bother driving it. This was also confirmed by our dashcam. Our Kia app also showed the car sitting in the garage, ready for pickup, for 50 minutes before informing her they couldn't find anything wrong. To make matters worse, they washed our brand new car without notifying us and ended up scratching it with the brushes they used. This was particularly frustrating because we only hand wash our car and we later paid to have all the scratches removed. Fed up with their lack of effort, we decided to diagnose the problem ourselves. We managed to capture a clear video of the ticking sound, and, when we brought it back, they finally identified the issue: the bracket shock absorber and shock absorber assembly needed fixing. All in all, it took three visits to get this sorted out. Then, there was another ticking sound in the front when first starting the car and hitting 2000 rpm. My wife explained the issue clearly and provided a video, but after waiting another hour, they told her the gas pedal just needed grease. She barely got out of the lot before the sound came back. When she drove right back, they said, "Drive it until it breaks" because they weren't able to diagnose the issue. We understand that possibly having to taking the engine apart is a big job, but being lied to and brushed off like that is just not acceptable. Their service team clearly lacks the knowledge and effort required to properly diagnose and fix issues. Their dismissive attitude will drive any customer away. If we didn't have a warranty covering all these costs, it would have been an easy way for them to force us into unnecessary expenses. UPDATE! Bergstrom responded immediately to help remedy the issue. Hopefully the fix works! THANKS BERGSTROM! We brought our brand new Kia Sorrento PHEV in for service for rattling in the headliner. It was a very obvious issue. The technicians asked why we were there because we had a long warranty anyway. They claimed it would settle since it is a new car. I have NEVER had a new car sound like this. They never check the headliner or fix anything. I know because I put some felt at the headliner to try and dampen the rattling. It helps a little. They never removed it. They blamed it on the sunroof. That is not acceptable. I saw other Kia models had the same thing and there is a service bulletin to fix it. The technicians argued with my wife and I am not sure why they did not even look to try to resolve the issue. It was a waste of time. It still rattles terribly! Or brand new Kia sounds like it is going to fall apart :( read more

We had bought our Kia shortage from this dealership about 4 years ago. But since we live in Green Bay any warranty issues were done at a different closer dealership that was closer to home we had an issue with the engine light coming in and called the closer dealership to see when they could get us in. we were told 3 weeks so I called our dealership and was told since you bought it here bring it in asap we will look at it. Got a call from our service advisor Austin at 7 am that they were bring the Kia in to be looked at. By 12 we had an answer . Austin and Skylar were professional and kind and explained the next steps to us as it was under warranty, Austin took the time to fill out the paperwork and talked to Kia about the repair. He made us feel like family! Not once did he make me feel rushed during the process of getting car repaired he went of his way to get a pretty awesome rental car for us while ours was getting respaired. Bergstrom is lucky to have such a wonderful young man with an amazing work ethic on their team! He offered to give me his cell while he was on vacation in case someothing went wrong while he was away! I declined as I have total faith in Skylar and the rest of the team and of course Austin deserves to be on vacation with out me bothering him. Well done Bergstrom in hiring this young man who cares and goes out of his way for his customers! Every step was explained and I will definitely buy from this dealership again. We bought our Kia Sportage from this dealership and has been a fun/comfortable car. This Summer we had issues with horn going off for no reason. Was told nothing could be done unless it happened at dealership. Took it home and had a dead battery a couple weeks later. Had to pay to get it jumped and back to dealership. Picked it up a couple days later and took it home, dead battery next mourning again. This time they switch out battery and a door lock. Two months later, dead battery again! Take it back in, they order a part but say should be ok to drive for now. Meanwhile, I needed to buy a booster pack to start car before work and to start again after work. Call dealership back several days later to follow-up, they are not sure where part is but will call me back. No call back, so I call next day and leave message, no call back! Now going on almost 10 days, a couple hundred dollars, missed work and missed my friends wedding because I can't leave my wife home alone, to go to work with an unreliable car Almost forgot, can't lock doors because manual unlocking mechanism does not work, so battery goes dead with doors locked, I'm screwed. Luckily this happened at dealership. They needed jimmy the lock to get in, to even jump start the car, so we could take it home, just to have battery go dead again. Maybe be offered a different car to use while trying to fix this problem would be appropriate at this point. Not sure I would buy another Kia, like the car but getting a car fixed should not be this hard. read more

I had just recently purchased a vehicle from Bergstorm and under 24 hours I had problems with the vehicle. The first one problem was the vehicles engine. It was constantly revving up while in park and sounded usually loud then normal vehicles. Second, all the dashboard lights popped up and would not go away. So, I gave Bergstrom a call to take my car back and have their technician look at it. The technician told me that my vehicle is "suppose to sound like that" because the vehicle has high voltage engine and with all the dashboard lights popping up, quote on quote said "it's a fluke and if it happens again bring the car back in." So, in my head I'm thinking they are lying to me about the vehicle constantly revving up, because any normal vehicle wouldn't do that, and if so, you are telling me that if they were to start every model of the same car, it would rev up and being abnormally loud? They also did not fix the problem with the all-dashboard lights popping. I physically showed the manger that issues with the dashboard lights and they could have just reset the system and pretend like they "fix it." At this point I told the manger I wanted to return the vehicle and wanted my money back. During all of this was I was being polite and professional as could be. So, we agreed on terms to return the vehicle and give me a full refund. He said, "I will give you a call within one to two days when he has the paperwork ready." Indicating that he is stalling until the seven-day period, were I can't return the vehicle anymore. So, I waited a day after finishing work and didn't get a call. I decide to call them and ask when he will finish the paperwork, and he responded, "remember what I said yesterday, I will give you a call within one to two days." At this point the manger is not being professional and is refusing to help. At this point I'm frustrated and tired of him stalling until the seven-day trial period is up. The very next day I get there at 9am when they open, and the first thing he says, "it will take up to at least 3 hours for him to file all the paperwork." So, I waited an hour until he finishes, and he brings me two pieces of paper for me to sign. So, you're telling me that he took two days to file two pieces of paper. I strongly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone after how badly I was mistreated and how unprofessional they were. read more
