Stopped by after trying out the sauna at Melt Well right next door. It was quiet and not at all packed, plenty of seating around 2pm Friday. The oatmeal cream pie that looked to be the size of my head, caught my eye and it did not disappoint. The cream was not super sweet which was nice and the oatmeal cookie part was soft! I also got their fruit blend tea, iced. I think next time I'll add a point or two of their syrups for a bit more sweetness.

Food: 4.5 Service: 5 Ambience: 5 Date/Time: 8/24/2025 12pm Crowd: 1/4 full Order: Aragorn, Balrog This is a really unique set up for a restaurant. The seating area is fully open concept with plush chairs all around along with tables and chairs along the perimeter. And in the middle is a full sofa with chairs facing it. In the back are bookcases full of books. In the front right as you enter is a kids area for reading/playing too. At the very back is the order counter with the kitchen hidden behind it. Orders are delivered fairly quick and most everything is self-serve (ordering, drink refills, etc). The Aragorn is a very tasty sandwich (1/2 order is plenty) with the habanero jam (not overly hot as the name would suggest). The Balrog was also good with a bit more heat to it. Both are on the Italian bread which is both thick and hard so a little difficult to bite into. Croissant would probably have been better. Definitely recommend it but ask for the croissant if you like a softer bite into your sandwich.

You want one of the best sandwiches you've ever had? This is your place. Two of us Gals stopped in after our pedicures next door to bring home dinner for the guys. We got lucky cause it was $5 wine night, so we each got a glass of Cabernet while we waited for our sandwiches to go. Order at the counter. They give you a number and you can relax at a table, couch, chair, nice options. I took home a Treebeard for me and Gandalf for Husband. Other Gal got two Legolas for them. Later she texted me that they ate every bite cause they were "out of this world". We would agree with ours being fantastic. Mine was very rich and huge, so I saved half of it for lunch the next day and YUM to both meals. Love that they serve it with potato chips with ranch dressing to dip. It was a nice surprise touch that was deliciously appreciated.

Returned for the food and it was so good! At the bar we ordered the Aragorn half sandwich half salad and the Treebeard. I immediately wanted to return the next day it was too delicious. The portions were also larger than we anticipated. We paired the meal with lemon poppy seed bread and hot tea. The tea was just okay, but it may have been because it was shadowed by the incredible food. The pesto in the Treebeard sandwich would outshine anything else. The employees are welcoming and helpful. We chose to sit outside and they brought the food to us. Afterwards we returned the dishes to the bin above the trash can. Overall, we certainly enjoyed our meal here and look forward to returning!

The Hobbit w/ salad and the Arragon in a wrap

Nice little place if you want to read a book, play board games, eat or enjoy a drink. I went for lunch and sat at the tables outside. It was comfortable. We placed our order with a very nice cashier and the gave us a number so they could bring our food out when ready. I ordered the Hobbit which was a delicious salad and a wrap. The wrap flavor was good but the wrap was so Stale that it broke apart- I ended up taking it off the meat and throwing it out. Parking was packed (big lot just busy) Bathroom was clean.

I'd say this is 3.5-4 stars. The coffee and baked gods were great which is the 4 stars. The 3.5 is for the sandwiches. The London fog and affogato were very tasty. Make sure you grab the oatmeal cream pie. It's massive and so delicious. The merry pippin sandwich I didn't like that the sauce was cold and the sandwich was warmed up. They should have warmed the whole thing up not just the croissant. I loved the boromir sandwich though. The employees were incredibly nice and helpful.

Arwen breakfast sandwich and iced coffee

This place has a nice cozy vibe! Plenty of mixed seating inside and a few tables outside. I stopped in for coffee and tried one of their biscuit breakfast sandwiches which was delicious! The person at the register was super nice and gave good recommendations. I'll have to come back to check out then beer selection.

Came here with hubby to kill some time before an appointment and I'm so glad he found it! Located in the Brennan Station off of Creedmoor, right near tropical smoothie and foot massage spa. Very relaxed atmosphere, plenty of tables, volume is that of a typical coffee shop IMO. But this place has coffee, non coffee, beers, wine, food, books, and WiFi! Great place to meet up with others or get some work in. I ordered a few plates and loved everyone. The Galadriel is like a caprese sandwich and I loved it, wish I could have toasted it but it was still delicious! The plates come with chips and ranch. The chai latte was also delicious and I would come back just for that. The employees are friendly and treat you great. Would love to come back to this spot!

I love Beow's! It's such a great atmosphere! It feels like a coffee shop (because it is)! But it has some amazing events throughout the month! And it turns into a low-key bar at night! Big fan of that! They also have a book store! The service is amazing, and they will even help you hack the system! (Maybe not hack) but definitely shared their hot water with me multiple times after I bought a cup of tea! The food is awesome! I'll have to update this review eventually with the sandwiches! But my favorite is the Galadriel which is a sandwich with mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, and extra-virgin olive oil on Italian bread! Their breakfast is nice and simple! I had the Arwen which is a bacon egg and cheese biscuit! The biscuit was great but unfortunately the bacon was cold... I didn't complain about it because they were busy, but I am positive they would have made it right! I have had multiple lattes from Beow's and they never disappoint! In my picture today was a butter scotch latte! Which was delicious! Their beer is pretty good, and have a decent wine selection as well!! Overall, my rating of a 4/5 is solely because my biscuit was cold... however everything else about this place is a true vibe!

Coffee

I went here several times before realizing where my money was going. Unfortunately, this establishment is republican-owned and run. The books and events are very conservative-leaning. It's disappointing to say the least. Check out some of their book titles online before deciding to spend your money here. Know what you're funding.

Italian style sub and a really nice fresh salad
Martin H.

Delightful staff. Nice menu with some great options. Wife and I both decided on the salad/sub combo which was a substantial meal for lunch. Lots of space and seating options. Very nice experience for a first time visit. Will return to try some other options. Oh, and the coffee was very good too!

I love this little coffee shop. It's a great place to meet a friend or work away from the office.

Without looking it up (he stayed on his phone throughout this) he just smiled like it was really funny to smugly say "we usually have it but we just ran out." And that was that. He didn't offer a solution just smiled and soaked in the self-pleasure of his snide answer. There was a painful pause as he waited for my reaction, wanting to relish in it, presumably, but I just said "ok then..?" And shrugged. And clearly disappointed I didn't leave right there he sighed and said "we could order one. Want to do that?" But he didn't offer any info about how much it would be, when it would be in, nothing. I had to pry that info from him. So forget it.

Hooray for independent booksellers. So & So is a small bookstore. It's not a used bookstore and…read moretheir titles are selective and probably not those you'll find (at least easily) at a mainstream shop. I like that. Sharing a space with an architectural firm, what you see when you first walk in, is what you get. There's not aisles and aisles of books, but that's what makes it easy to spend some time looking. The children and young adult section is a decent size, surprisingly, so it will give the kids something to do while you spend time looking. Mostly current authors, and a fair mix of biographical, non-fiction and informational, So & So does its job -- offering something different when time and boredom with the common stuff can make book shopping a chore. None of that is an issue here.

I typically love Barnes & Noble, but this particular location fascinated me and not in a good way…read more First off, Barnes & Noble is in the Village District, so there's plenty of parking. Inside is like any other Barnes & Noble location; it's bright, clean, easy to navigate, and there are areas to sit and read. There were lots of sections that had books on sale for 1/2 off as well as non-book items for a discount. However, this store is probably the smallest I've been to which results in less options. What dropped my rating to 3 stars is my biggest pet peeve I've never seen in any new book store until my most recent visit...authors were not in alphabetical order! I was looking for Dean Koontz in particular, an author that is often compared to Stephen King. There were lots of Stephen King soft and hardcovers, however, I couldn't find a single Dean Koontz novel. Not only that, but the horror section had Stephen King both on top and bottom shelves as well as other authors that were mixed in but weren't letters "j" or "l", causing some chaos with finding authors. My husband didn't notice until I pointed it out and he too, thought that was strange. I did buy a pack of fun pens for $5.25 while I was there which was half off, not a bad deal for a novelty item! The cashier was friendly, it was a short interaction for a pack of pens so not much else was needed beyond that. I don't think my OCD will allow my mind to want to come back, though. I can't get past the books not being in alphabetical order by author's names, which is crazy for a Barnes & Noble.
