The way teriyaki is presented is pretty standard. One can only be familiar with common teriyaki restaurants if they happen to be an avid teriyaki eater. I eat at a lot of teriyaki places. I'm more o a veracious teriyaki eater--twice a week is totally cool. This place met my expectations. Good quality teriyaki at a great price. The $5 chicken teriyaki lunch special is a good value. Good gyoza (not included in special). The place is nice enought to eat in, and they have cold filtered water and ample teriyaki sauce in bottles. There are high school kids there sometimes at lunch but hey that's cool. read more

As far as Teriyaki is concerned it's on par with the standard. I have family up the street and have strolled in for a bit on many occasions. Not good, not terrible. However, why the 1 star? upon today's visit the cash register worker had no problem touching the leaves in my salad and other parts of my meal with no gloves after she had been handling the cash of myself and the patrons before me. This place is a Bothell staple. I've been coming here for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. Good quality meat for cheap, and it's clean. That's really all you need in a teriyaki place. Call ahead, place your order (always get gyoza) and just shovel all of that deliciousness into your face. Portion sizes are just right to clear your plate without sending you into a food coma. I love getting my teriyaki fix, I've been a huge fan since I studied in Japan a little while back. Obviously, it's not going to be held to some golden standard... it's important to also say that it's SUPER affordable. Most $5 lunch deals aren't as generous, but consistency is big for me. This is the only place I go now for teriyaki! When I moved to Bothell a few years back I was looking for good teriyaki nearby. Bento was recommended to me and was close by my house. The portions are good. They have really good chicken (or whatever meat) fried rice and the teriyaki chicken is good. My absolute favorite though are the egg rolls! One word- AWESOME!!! I've never been to a teriyaki place with such good egg rolls! The people there are nice, friendly, and remember your face when you come back. They have good variety in the menu, as well. Ive eaten the teriyaki here before and didn't think it was anything to write home about but today I I went in and got a side of egg rolls, side salad and miso soup to go to hold me over until dinner. All of these tasted fine, although it's pretty hard to mess up those items but the things that will make me more than likely not want to come back are the cleanliness and the pre-cooked food. First, I usually try to look at the kitchen and other parts of a restaurant to see how cleanly they are and while the kitchen/cooking area was relatively clean, the grill is visible behind the register but there was a back kitchen area that could not be seen. The eating area on the other hand was not very clean. The ceiling tiles were out of place and there were edges of them showing that had a bunch of dust and dirt and everything else on them as were other parts of the eating area and it made me not want to sit down or touch anything. The other frustrating part was that the cooks were cooking up vast quantities of chicken and pork and beef and then they placed those in pans, my guess, as well as others reviews on here, is that they cook everything ahead of time and then reheat it just before serving. That's not really my idea of fresh teriyaki and I'd rather wait 10-15 minutes for them to actually cook my entire meal for me and not just reheat everything. My family members enjoy this place but between the pre-cooked food and lack of cleanliness I'd have to say I'll go somewhere else. read more

This is hands down the best teriyaki place around. The portions are filling, the chicken pork or beef is well cooked, and the highlight is the warm teriyaki sauce and sweet salad dresssing. This looks like a hole in the wall place, about the same as most teriyaki joints. Nearby bothell high school so it attracts a lot of school day traffic, so it can get busy. No way is this 4 out of five stars. We ordered stir fried veggies and it was mostly cabbage with 4 small pieces of broccoli. Also, the chicken was deep fried, which is very weird for stir fry, which many people choose as a healthier option. The teriyaki chicken and spicy chicken looked better. Ordered to go on Saturday 10/31, we wanted to try it as I saw some good reviews here. Not sure what the other people are reviewing. Ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and Teriyaki pork combo. $7.95 for almost nothing, such a small portion compared to other Teriyaki places. Also ordered Egg Rolls and Gyoza. The Chicken tasted a bit old. The Egg rolls were OK, but not excellent. The Gyoza was the worst, I think they were chicken or pork, but they had a very weird fishy aftertaste. Everything looked dingy and dirty. There is a sign on the cash register requesting that you pay in cash, who the heck carries cash with them anymore? I will not be coming back here. Go to Happy Lake #1 teriyaki down the street, they have better tasting food and much bigger portions for around the same price. read more

My favorite place to have teryaki in all of the country. I have been going there since i was in high school. love them!! I have moved away and still go back to visit when i can. I buy there sauce and smuggle it home to try to make teryaki that tastes good. I have even had my mother and brother bring it when they visit. One of the best teriyaki joints I have ever been to. I moved to the area several years ago. I used to live in the U-district so I was used to some good teriyaki joints readily available. I had tried several places up here and was not impressed. I was becoming convinced that no one outside of the '206' area code knew how to do good teriyaki. Then a co-worker of my wife turned us on to this place. And I'm glad they did, because otherwise I probably never would have found this place. It is in a strip mall in the corner of a QFC parking lot. I could have driven by a thousand times and never noticed it. The place is pretty humble. The exterior is pretty basic, and the interior isn't much different. There is no wait service, so don't go here if you are expecting a nice dinner out. But for absolutely delicious teriyaki for about $5 you can't beat it. This place is as good or better than any joint I had been to in the U-district. Get the teriyaki chicken with a side of gyoza and you will not regret it. Luckily I live close, because if I didn't I would probably have to make the trek here for food. When I first moved to Bothell 8 years ago this place had tasty food, large servings and nice people. Then the place changed owners and it lost its "great" status but was still pretty good. Now it appears to have changed owners again as I don't recognize any of the people now working there. With this recent change the food has declined substantially. The servings of meat are much smaller than they were under the previous two owners and the teriyaki beef I had seemed like butcher leavings - no slices of beef, just strings of tiny wadded up not-very-tasty beef. Even the teriyaki sauce has changed and isn't very good. The salad of iceburg lettuce was mostly translucent. To top it off the place is dirty. Previous owners kept it pretty clean but now, even if the food was good, I wouldn't go back because it's so dirty. As far as I'm concerned this place is done (and gone).
