We went with Omega cabinets and it turned out much better than i expected. Our kitchen had a couple of odd angles in it and they were able to mask those with the cabinets by building them around the corner. I would have never thought about this on my own. Our renovation was approximately…read more10 weeks with a 4 month old and 11 year old dog, and honestly it couldn't have gone smoother. In the beginning as we were collecting quotes, I was impressed with how responsive Kim was, I also felt like their prices were very reasonable in comparison to the other companies. We had a pantry, closet and a portion of a wall removed to make our house built in 1908 more open concept. New hardwood floors throughout the first floor. We also did new cabinets and countertops through kitchen creations. Kim helped us pick out our farmhouse sink. In an effort to save some money we did the backsplash, light fixtures and painting (though I wish we would have had Al (Tivoli Contracting) do the painting as most of it still isn't done ;). During the renovation the stairs to upstairs (we lovingly referred to as our apartment) was taped off to minimize dust etc. They were usually there promptly at 8a and would knock prior to entering despite the lock box. I would say I spent most days upstairs at the house during renovation. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat and would go back to Kitchen Creations and Al for future renovations!

We went with Kitchens on Broadway after receiving a glowing recommendation from neighbors who had a great experience. Unfortunately, we later discovered that the designer they worked with had left the company, along with several other senior designers. We skipped doing our own homework and ended up regretting it. We paid a $1,200 design fee, and after six months--only after we had repeatedly asked for our money back--we finally received renderings and a layout that essentially copied a design we had already created ourselves using free online software and had provided to them three months earlier, so this was incredibly disappointing. Since then, we've done our own research and found several other reputable kitchen and bath designers in the Denver area who offer an initial design, budget estimate, and timeline before requiring any payment. Often being able to provide an initial design within 2 weeks. That level of transparency and professionalism made us realize how far off our experience here was. I strongly recommend doing your due diligence as there are better options out there.

First time here. Went to Lumber Liquidators, but alas the inventory numbers were off, and I…read morecouldn't get what I wanted. So I looked online, and Floor & Decor had exactly what I wanted, on clearance! Woohoo! This is a GIGANTIC store. It seems to have literally EVERYTHING flooring that your heart could desire. I was enchanted by some of the tile. But I don't NEED any tile, so sadly passed it up. They have tile that looks like wood! And marble! I needed waterproof vinyl plank flooring to go over concrete, as apparently peel-and-stick requires a plywood base and is therefore more effort. The waterproof stuff is just click-and-lock, and can be cut with an X-acto knife. You can use 6-mil poly as a vapor barrier. This is for a small outbuilding, so 7 boxes should be sufficient. A very nice young man loaded the boxes onto a cart, and then put them into my car for me! Their prices seem very fair, although I just zeroed in on what I needed and didn't have time to fully explore the store. The tile selection seems vast. Best part: they're well-stocked, at least with what I bought. I'm fully confident that if I need another box, they'll have it in stock.

I'm very happy we shopped around some more. Lori was quick to respond and get an in-home estimate scheduled. She thoroughly explained all the options and what would look best to get our 1980's kitchen a bit more modern. They have a wide selection of styles and finishes to choose from. I was amazed at the difference in prices between the quotes. Not only a bunch (~50% cheaper), but better quality all around. It took two full days and only a couple hours on the third day to get everything installed. Allen is a true craftsman. He pointed out issues with the existing cabinets and was quick to fix them. Every step of the way he kept us informed. His attention to detail was astonishing. Items I would have never considered, such as the way the cabinets should open and putting in hinge stops to prevent the doors from running into other cabinets. Very careful and respectful of our entire house. Super friendly and was sure to clean up each day. I can't praise Home Improvements of Colorado enough. I always felt I could email them with any questions prior to the installation and they would get right back to me. Don't look any further. If you want the best, this is the only place you need to call.

The last time I purchased some plants, I took them home only to discover they all had mealy bugs, aphids, AND slugs. I took them back and was refunded, but they tried first to tell me it was simple to treat the pests. As someone with quite a few houseplants, it's just not worth it for me to have to treat pest-ridden plants before adding them to my collection. The following time I stopped by, I checked the same plant display and it seemed that the issue might have been resolved. So that's the only caveat... if purchasing here, make sure to thoroughly check for pests before bringing home.
