Our renovation was approximately…read more10 weeks with a 4 month old and 11 year old dog, and honestly it couldn't have gone smoother. In the beginning as we were collecting quotes, I was impressed with how responsive Kim was, I also felt like their prices were very reasonable in comparison to the other companies. We had a pantry, closet and a portion of a wall removed to make our house built in 1908 more open concept. New hardwood floors throughout the first floor. We also did new cabinets and countertops through kitchen creations. Kim helped us pick out our farmhouse sink. In an effort to save some money we did the backsplash, light fixtures and painting (though I wish we would have had Al (Tivoli Contracting) do the painting as most of it still isn't done ;). During the renovation the stairs to upstairs (we lovingly referred to as our apartment) was taped off to minimize dust etc. They were usually there promptly at 8a and would knock prior to entering despite the lock box. I would say I spent most days upstairs at the house during renovation. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat and would go back to Kitchen Creations and Al for future renovations!

We went with Kitchens on Broadway after receiving a glowing recommendation from neighbors who had a great experience. Unfortunately, we later discovered that the designer they worked with had left the company, along with several other senior designers. We skipped doing our own homework and ended up regretting it. We paid a $1,200 design fee, and after six months--only after we had repeatedly asked for our money back--we finally received renderings and a layout that essentially copied a design we had already created ourselves using free online software and had provided to them three months earlier, so this was incredibly disappointing. Since then, we've done our own research and found several other reputable kitchen and bath designers in the Denver area who offer an initial design, budget estimate, and timeline before requiring any payment. Often being able to provide an initial design within 2 weeks. That level of transparency and professionalism made us realize how far off our experience here was. I strongly recommend doing your due diligence as there are better options out there.

First time here. Went to Lumber Liquidators, but alas the inventory numbers were off, and I…read morecouldn't get what I wanted. So I looked online, and Floor & Decor had exactly what I wanted, on clearance! Woohoo! This is a GIGANTIC store. It seems to have literally EVERYTHING flooring that your heart could desire. I was enchanted by some of the tile. But I don't NEED any tile, so sadly passed it up. They have tile that looks like wood! And marble! I needed waterproof vinyl plank flooring to go over concrete, as apparently peel-and-stick requires a plywood base and is therefore more effort. The waterproof stuff is just click-and-lock, and can be cut with an X-acto knife. You can use 6-mil poly as a vapor barrier. This is for a small outbuilding, so 7 boxes should be sufficient. A very nice young man loaded the boxes onto a cart, and then put them into my car for me! Their prices seem very fair, although I just zeroed in on what I needed and didn't have time to fully explore the store. The tile selection seems vast. Best part: they're well-stocked, at least with what I bought. I'm fully confident that if I need another box, they'll have it in stock.
