We bought all our kitchen appliances here when we remodeled our kitchen 30 years ago. Received excellent service. Our built-in microwave died and I immediately thought of Ben's. I called and spoke with a pleasant young lady who told me that they would need to order the microwave and it would take a while to come in. I said,"No problem." I drove to Lodi, walked into the show room , and was immediately met by one of the rudest saleswoman I have ever encountered. Told me that she couldn't help me and that I should go to Lowe's or Home Depot to purchase. I explained that I had the dimensions and was willing to pay for shipping and installation. She repeated that Ben's couldn't help me. Honestly, I was flabbergasted- I've never encountered such a rude "saleswoman." I thought the whole idea of a "sales" job was to sell your products. This past month I have been searching for a Jennair 48" Gas Range throughout the entire CA and NV and in speaking with John @ Ben's Wholesale Appliance in Sales he said I have one on the floor in stock and will check with our management if we can move it since it's been on the floor for a while. After a day or so, I reached back out and instead of them playing the supply & demand game with recent COVID situation and overall shortages they decided to ensure I was cooking for the holidays. I want to support a local business but in all good conscience I will not write a positive review. Not only was I told to buy the wrong refrigerator, but there was no attempt to correct the situation. And the salesman lied about what he told me to buy. I came to the store with a designer, for a second set of ears. She supports my review. The refrigerator doesn't fit the space and the installer that Ben's endorsed did a poor job. I won't make that mistake again! read more

On Nov. 19 we visited the showroom to purchase a range and dishwasher. Our salesman John was helpful and we paid for our products with our credit card in full. He advised that in 1-1.5 weeks (because of Thanksgiving) we would receive a call as to when we would like delivery of our items. After 2 full weeks and not hearing from them we had to call to see when they were planning to schedule the deilvery. Only after we made that call did they inform us that the items were on backorder. After another week of waiting and no further response or update on the status of our order we called again. They informed us they were in transit. Then we called in the middle of that week and they were "at the dock". Then they "can't deliver them because their truck driver is sick", then he was "in the bay area", then the "dishwasher isn't available becasue it hasn't been unloaded yet". Its just been the run-around with these people. We have offered to go to whatever warehouse they are sitting in and pick them up ourselves but the lady- Diane said she would call back when they were available. No calls have been made to us from Diane. Now we are at the close of another full week and 19 FULL BUSINESS DAYS from the date of purchase and we STILL do not have the products we paid for. This company shows no willingness to "make it right" and no sense of urgency to get the issue resolves (they do not return phone calls, do not call back when they actually say they will, and don't even answer the phone during their stated business hours--We can not get a hold of ANYONE to check the status) We are completely dissatisfied with this company and have seems like Jean M's review is very similar with the customer service issues and lack of willingness to fix issues. Rob at Ben's Appliance helped me with a fireplace insert. Explained in detail how the different inserts operate and also the procedure to request a clean burn rebate. After qualifying for the rebate, Rob helped me with the paperwork. Ordered the insert I wanted and when it arrived, Chris delivered it to my home and installed. What a great experience, I can't remember the last time I was helped from beginning to end with a project that went so smoothly. For some reason, the available item was no longer available, and we would have to wait 6 weeks for our refrigerator. I canceled the order and requested a refund. This way you won't have to travel far distances to find the model of Miele or Bosch appliances for your home. I would suggest to visit the showroom first to check out a few models. Poor customer service. I ordered a Mendota fireplace insert and was told it would be here in 2 wks. I called Ben's at 2 weeks, was then told it was on back-order. I waited 2+months w/o any followup from Ben's. On installation day, the insert light cover fell out, I was told a new one would be ordered & installed. This repair NEVER happened. 7 months later, the insert top plate fell for no apparent reason. Called Ben's again. To date NEITHER item has been repaired and the unit is still under warranty. I'm unable to use my fireplace and I've called Ben's numerous times to no avail. I would appreciate a returned call or service as promised. UPDATE: Repair was made today, I'll keep my fingers crossed. read more

After shopping in different cities for what we thought was the perfect fireplace, we made the mistake of buying a fireplace insert from here. $6000.00 later....there were parts missing and I had received the wrong andirons. I tried calling them and never received a call back, I even tried going to the manufacturer, but they said I had to go thru the dealer to get my missing parts. I ended turning Ben's Appliance into BBB (better business bureau). Ben's Appliance finally called and admitted to ordering the wrong part saying they were off by one number. They said for me to bring in the one I had and they would exchange for the one I wanted. I have no tool to take off the front and never did (one of the parts missing). One of the persons of whom Ben's referred to install the fireplace happened to have the part to install and remove the front window. Long story short...I still don't have the andirons I wanted...which I guess don't really matter anyway because the insert doesn't stay lit and keeps going out. read more

Our house we purchased had a monster of a wood burning stove in the hearth that couldn't be used. With all the no burn days and desire for a working fireplace, a gas insert was the only real answer. Price is fair upon shopping around and $1500 in rebates ($1k appliance and $500 install) helped a lot. Should be installed before end of the year, update to come. read more

My handicapped son recently bought a new washer dryer from Ben's Appliances - a family run business. .. We received excellent service. Efficient delivery of unit with quick and clean withdrawal and take-away of our old unit. .. The delivery man even took the extra step to explain what settings my son should use to set up his washing and drying needs. We ordered a gas fireplace insert from Ben's Appliance on 11/9/18. Rob our salesman was very professional and knowledgeable. He informed us of the $1,500.00 refund from the San Joaquin County Burn Cleaner program and submitted our application right away. Rob called us as soon as the insert came in so we could get it installed before Thanksgiving. We contacted Chris Steele from Steele Plumbing right away. He too was professional and very knowledgeable in installing inserts. As promised, he installed our insert in a timely manner, before Thanksgiving. The remote was on back order, but Rob called as soon as it came in. We again called Chris Steele to have him set up the remote. He came out and programmed the remote in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the insert as well as the way Ben's Appliance handled our transaction. We would gladly recommend Rob from Ben's Appliance and Chris Steele from Steele Plumbing! Horrible customer service! Ordered a gas insert fireplace May 22nd 2015 and dealt with weeks and weeks of delay without return phone calls. Sales Guy Rob was never available and always had a different story.When it finally arrived today the item was a two year old model and items were missing. The safety screen! Ordered a griddle for my Thermador Range in December of 2016. February 2017.. and no griddle. I was originally told one week, then the next week, then the next. My numerous phone calls were never returned. Dave, the order desk person is never available. I was told the griddle,would be picked up on Wednesday February 15th, now on Friday, no griddle. They will pick it up next Tuesday. No thanks! Cancelled my order. We purchased several appliances last summer here, $12,000 in total, will never set foot in the store again. Certainly would recommend to anyone considering appliance purchases in the future to go to Best Buy, stay away from Bens and save yourself the frustration. Think twice about using Bens Appliance for a gas fireplace. I am a retired veteran and I know what good professional service is, I am still waiting from this company. It has been 2 months since we purchased the fireplace and Chris at Steele Plumbing was recommended as the installer. We are no closer to having it work than when we bought it. The product has broken down twice and now a factory rep needs to be called and they are nowhere to be found. Neither Ben's Appliance or Steele plumbing has ever followed up with us on this situation unless we call them and then we still do not get any resolution to how this will be resolved. What a scam, terrible customer service. I ordered a double oven and a refrigerator. When it was installed the fridge was actually a counter depth. I never knew they had different sizes of depth when it comes to buying a refrigerator. I called the salesman John and said this is a mistake and I will pay restocking fee to order the correct size. He said oh ok, I will have to call LG and will call you back. One week went by, following week I call and talk with him he says. You need to call Amanda at LG gives me her number. Took me over a week to hear back from Amanda at LG. She said no, you need to call the business where you bought the appliance from. So I called back John, he played dumb and said oh, ok I will call you back need to make few calls. Heard nothing for over another week and half. Finally called him and he answered and said are you used to your fridge yet? What??? I told him no I want a bigger fridge. This doesn't work with my kitchen. He said well it's been a few weeks we can't take it back. He sent me on a wild goose chase then says he can't help me. Don't bother with this place. Such a scam. I called and asked for the owner. He never called and had his manger call me and go back and forth and once they knew the credit card company wouldn't help after it's been too long due to John playing games with me. NEVER AGAIN. Soon after we pulled our permit for our new home, we began receiving postcards from Ben's. we were skeptical. After we narrowed down the appliances we wanted, we decided to have them give us a bid. They were several thousand dollars less expensive than the next lowest bid for the five appliances that we wanted. We ordered our appliances, then our house took longer than we anticipated. We picked up our appliances today, nearly ten months after we ordered them. They kept them for us with no problems and helped us to load them in to he trailer. My husband and i walked into Bens with the mind state of just looking around based on leaving several other appliance stores dissatisfied we were shocked at how good the prices were and how helpful the salesman was not to mention they do deliver and we still managed to save 3 grand which is a huge upside and on the day they delivered I wasn't in the dark the whole day just waiting they gave me a time frame and kept it plus having the delivery driver give me a 30 minute away courtesy call isn't a bad touch either over all very pleasant experience and will definitely recommend them to family and friends read more

We purchased a Lennox Ravenna about 1 year ago while our house was under construction and it was installed in April, and rarely use as the days got warmer. About the 3rd time we used it in November, it blew out. It took FOREVER to get a hold of these guys, who doubted our claim, finally came out to determine the problem and confirmed that the command module blew - on a brand new fireplace insert used no more than 6 times. We waited about 6 weeks and nothing happened so we followed up on the status of the replacement. The icing on the cake is that they ordered the wrong command module replacement, for some other insert and not the one we have. I sure hope we do not have to wait another 6 weeks for Ben's Appliance to make it right. I agree with the sentiment of others' - sloppy, unprofessional, difficult to get a hold of. A friend ref. me to Ben's, saying they had very good prices. I went into a huge showroom that was nice. As I was waiting for my quote for the appliances I wanted, I stumbled across their hearth section. The salesperson Rob approached me and informed me that I could put an insert in my fireplace and receive a $1500 rebate from the clean air board. I walked out with 2 quotes that day.
