Found this place on the Michelin list and the lunch option seems like a good value.had a table reserved for noon and got seated on the side room near the window. The place looks like a very classic French restaurant. 2/5 Salmon starter - I don't like cold soup so this was a pass for me but my partner loved it 3/5 Eggs starter - just ok. Horrible service for Michelin restaurant. Servers weren't well trained (some were confused) and rude. I tried to record them doing the garnish on my dish and the guy yelled at me telling to put my phone away. That ruined the dining experience. Food wise, it's pretty good French food. They give you Brazillian cheese bread to start and petit fours and a madeline on the house. Bread is fresh with crispy crust. I ordered their 2 course lunch menu. Started with escargots - snails were big in size and good butter. Fish was fresh and nicely paired with squash. Seating is tight. Server had to pull out our table. I went to this restaurant in 2023 with my girlfriend for lunch and had a mixed experience (Just now created a Yelp!). The restaurant's aesthetics were very quaint and charming but some of the dishes were not really what we were expecting. For the first round I had the cucumber gazpacho which was very light, tangy, and refreshing! I really enjoyed this dish and was the best part of my meal. Following this we had the calf's head ravigote, partially because of ignorance in what we ordered and differences in palate this was not what we expected. This dish was very horseradish forward (almost overpowering) and the textures were not our favorite. Personally I struggled with this but I understand it could just be a difference in preferred tastes. I finished my meal with the Armagnac Savarin which was good. I greatly appreciated the service with this dish as I was able to choose a liquor of my choice for this dish and both were great options. Along with the dishes we ordered we were provided fresh bread which was very delicious. My girlfriend was not a fan of the homemade butter as it was a little too salty for her taste but i enjoyed it! We also had some wine to pair and the on-site sommelier was a nice touch to aid in our selection for our dishes. The service was okay, with the waitstaff being friendly but not going out of their way to make you feel special. This restaurant has a Michellin star so it has the excellent service you'd expect. You will need to reserve a spot - I don't think they were accepting walkins (on the weekday lunch I went to). I got their lunch special, which had a starter main and dessert for just 42 euros. I definitely thought this was an excellent value. The food was very tasty and had excellent traditional French food options. The restaurant itself is also very cute - it is decorated very well and it's a great ambiance for a nice relaxing meal. This used to be our favorite place for escargot. And I will say it's still fantastic escargot. However my husband got turbot this last time (a white fish) it was not cooked through. Unlike salmon and other fish - white fish needs to be cooked through so that it flakes and is not rubbery. When my husband told the server (who was horrified it wasn't properly cooked) the chef told her "has he ever even eaten white fish - it's fine" no sir it is not. Unfortunately after being treated as undereducated travelers who should just be happy to eat here we will not be back - and I'll be looking for the next best escargot! read more

We came here to try the 3 course lunch meal which includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. Considering this was our first time trying French cuisine it was very unique and interesting. I ordered the calf's head and the flavors were rich and flavorful. I did find a couple hairs but I was told it was expected from this kind of dish. probably worst food experience on our trip. our group booked here because of the Michelin star. service was extremely mid. took way too long for water refills/checkins for the server. server was pleasant but didn't seem well trained. food took quite awhile to come out, and we were not all served at once. i think the worst part was on leaving we had to ask for our coats/bags back and were pretty belligerently rushed out of the restaurant. food was ok, but nothing special. i got the french onion soup and steak. the soup was probably the best part of the meal, but still was not impressive. steak was well cooked, but lacked flavor. many of us liked the mashed potatoes, but it was not anything special for me. this place does not seem like it deserves the Michelin title. read more

Honestly such a meh experience. The restaurant is cute, very traditional French. They offer an extensive wine list and their sommelier is really knowledgeable/helpful. The food itself was just ok - the escargot was good, but nothing special. Same goes for the fish of the day for 2 (it was sea bass). The dessert that was recommended by our waiter was dry, bland, and left a lot to be desired. The ladies room was out of toilet paper - not acceptable for a Michelin. Seriously? Why such low rating? Benoit is here since 1912, then acquired and managed by Alain Ducasse since 2022 and boasts a one Michelin star. This is a quintessential French bistro and I guess if you don't like classic French fare, you should not come here. We LOVED this place. Great food, great service, and reasonable price for a Michelin Starred restaurant! The total bill was 147 Euro (for 3 people) which's so much cheaper than dining at a mediocre restaurant in Phoenix, AZ! When we dined here, the restaurant was full, and all the diners were French which says a lot about the place. They were either on their business lunch or lunch with friends. Their lunch menu is pretty easy. You can choose a two item menu for 32 euro or a three item menu for 42 euro from Starter, Main, and Dessert. You choose one from each section depending on which option you choose. There were three of us and we did two item menus. Two of us chose to do Starter & Main, and one of us did Main and Dessert. Plus we ordered an extra dessert, because you can't just share the one dessert! My hubby ordered a carafe of Gigondas which was so lovely. Everything we ordered was excellent and served promptly. The maitre d was our server, perhaps they were short handed that day, but still the service was excellent and I have no complaints. He prepared the crepe Suzette table-side, and it was delicious! Unlike someone mentioned in one of the reviews, their madeleines were NOT limp. It was perfectly warm, crispy outside, and moist inside. We also got a plate of sweets with our bill. Michelin starred Alain Ducasse restaurant, so when in Paris, you have to try. Food was classic french bistro. Honestly, a little underwhelming in comparison to other highly rated fresh bistros, particularly when you compare against Michelin star places (at least compared to 1 Star Michelins in DC and NYC). Service was slow compared to other "higher end" french bistros in Paris. The escargot was way too hot and burnt, so the flavor died out. Steak was great actually. Price was pretty good to be honest. Great French restaurant in Paris. Very old world French. Michelin one star Maison Ducasse. We had the special which was a veal porterhouse. It was pretty amazing. I would have to recommend the cassoulet and of course the profiteroles was a great dessert. We came to Benoit on the recommendation that it was the spot for traditional French cuisine in Paris--a Michelin-starred restaurant promising a classic experience. Sadly, what was meant to be a memorable final meal in the city turned out to be a letdown. Our visit started on a high note with a warm greeting and the sounds of a bustling main dining room. But within moments, we were led to a completely different space--a dead-quiet side room with no other diners, just a clear view of the service station. The atmosphere was flat, awkward, and completely disconnected from the energy we had initially seen. Tables were so tightly spaced that staff had to pull ours out just for us to sit down. The service throughout was not rude or curt--just detached. Our waiter, while polite, seemed disinterested and minimal in his engagement. He asked if we wanted English menus, which we appreciated. But only a few minutes later, he returned and asked if we were ready to order, before we had even been offered drinks. When we said we'd like to start with drinks, he simply walked away and sent the bartender over. We tried to order a cocktail and a mocktail listed on both the menu and a display on the table. The bartender seemed confused and told us flatly, "we don't have that." No effort was made to suggest alternatives. When we asked if there were any other mocktails available, we were told "a spritz." That's what we got--and it was not good. When it came time to order food, we asked about specials or guidance on how best to order. The waiter's only response was, "Order everything now." So we did: an appetizer and entrée each. The food was actually quite good--well-executed, classic French cooking. Not revelatory, and certainly not the refined level we'd expect from a Michelin-starred kitchen, but enjoyable nonetheless. Dessert brought more of the same: fine, but underwhelming. The "strawberry Melba" was essentially a McDonald's-style sundae. Tasty, sure--but not the elegant finish you'd hope for from a place of this reputation. The real kicker came at the end of the meal when we headed upstairs to use the bathroom--and discovered another dining room. It was lively, full of guests enjoying exactly the kind of Parisian dining experience we had expected. In the end, Benoit delivered decent food in a disappointing setting, with indifferent service and missed opportunities all around. We left feeling like we had dined at the wrong Benoit, while the real one was happening just upstairs. Rating: 2.5/5 - Quality food overshadowed by poor atmosphere and indifferent service. Went here on the recommendation of a friend. Were not disappointed. Classic French bistro. 1 Michelin star. Been around since 1912 and now owned by Alain Ducasse. What more could you want? You should know that it is classic in every way, you go in knowing those are the dishes they'll serve. We had cassoulet and black pudding as entrees. Delicious. Waiter could not have been more accommodating and lively. If you are looking for a classic French bistro, this probably one of the best in all of Paris. Came for lunch on a weekday - our waiter spoke perfect English and they even have an English menu, so that was nice. The starters include biscuits as well as bread. The bread tastes very fresh and good - there's a lot of good bread in Paris. ... but the real star of the show is the BISCUITS. These were the best biscuits I've had in my life. Wow, they were so freaking amazing. They absolutely melt in your mouth in a melange of buttery goodness. They flake apart and dissolve into your tongue. I was wowed the moment it touched my tongue. Salmon (34): Salmon was well-seasoned and tender. The vegetables were good as well. The price seems a bit high for a seemingly simpler dish. Cassoulet (20): Definitely get the half-portion as the full-portion is enormous. I didn't think the cassoulet was as tasty as the salmon, but it definitely is filling. The meat inside included sausages and mutton. The mutton tasted just all right. The complimentary biscuits were absolutely amazing. The salmon was good, but a bit overpriced. Disappointment in one complete swoop- If that's what you are seeking, come to Benoit in Paris. The food is below average and service leaves a lot to be desired. The chef claims sauces are key to the French cuisine and it's clear that the chef has mastered none. In fact, the chef was not present this evening at all. The duck "pie" starter had an unpleasant sauce, the escargot was mostly herbs very little garlic (I've never left snails uneaten on my plate until now). The beef tenderloin was cooked to right temperature but alas with some cold pain juice as sauce (perhaps the chef was away at school learning about sauces tonight?). We voiced our concerns to our server and even though the manager was there, never stopped by to have the dialogue with us. We skipped desert. We were served some stale Madelines along with our check. We booked this reservation with a bit of hesitation due to some of the reviews here but are so glad we did. Unbeknownst to us there was another "Benoit" restaurant close to the Eiffel Tower and our Uber driver took us there instead of this location so we arrived 30 minutes late and right at the 10 o'clock closing time. The host welcomed us and said no worries... and so began a delightful meal for my wife and I and our oldest son (us traveling from the U.S. our son coming from Madrid). For appetizers we had the foie gras and French Onion soup (both very good) along with some of the delicious complimentary bread. For the dinner my son had the beef tenderloin and my wife and I had the Sole for 2. Our server Ryan effortlessly removed all the bones and served us 2 beautiful filets with a delightful brown lemon sauce- our favorite fish of the year so far in Europe or the U.S... our son loved the beef tenderloin as well either some very nice mashed potatoes as well. The dinner was accompanied by a wonderful 2022 St. Joseph wine that was a perfect accompaniment. For dessert we had 2- the oven baked apple (good not great) and the profiteroles (delicious). The meal was completed with some complimentary chocolates filled with ganache. 90 minutes before we had walked in worried we would be turned away, but 90 minutes later we left with one of our best memories of our European vacation.. so thanks to the wonderful staff at Benoit, especially Ryan for a fantastic meal! What a wonderful experience. The staff was accommodating, helpful, and friendly. As an example, one of my sons wanted to try snails for the first time. When served he had no idea how to eat them. Noticing this, one of the servers immediately jumped in with a smile on his face, showed how it was done. It sure broke the assumption that Parisians are rude with major attitude. Where do I begin, the service was excellent and the charm is there every step of the way. Our server Matthieu was entertaining with his facial expressions but very professional in his delivery. Ehhhhhh I had much higher expectations since this has a Michelin star. Important note, for my husband this was a 4 star experience. 3 for me. After We were seated we were brought these cheesy puff pastry ball things and they were delicious. I could have eaten them all night. I started with the vegetarian appetizer, since many of the other dishes had items I am allergic to. It was so yummy. I wish that could have been a main dish, I would have left very pleased. For dinner I ordered venison medium-rare. It came out very very rare. I couldn't eat it the texture was just raw. My husband didn't care, we traded dishes and he loved the cook on the venison. I had his beef and it was the medium rare I wanted. It was tasty, but I wasn't blown away by it. It was just okay. Definitely not Michelin quality I'm used to. We each had a couple of glasses of wine, I wanted white and he red, so we didn't get a bottle. The white I got was very yummy and paired well with both meats. After dinner we decided to not get dessert but they still brought us homemade marshmallows, chocolate, and Madeline's. They were yummy. Overall, I don't think I would return, so much of the menu I couldn't have because of my allergy, and then I didn't love the execution on most of what I had. read more

If you want to go to a michelin star restaurant and you're on a budget, this is the place to be. They have a 3 course lunch menu for 39€ which is super worth it. The wine and coffee are a little pricey, you're better off saving the drinks for a café later. There are a lot of good cafés nearby. The place is very cramped. I have my reservation for noon, and they didnt open the restaurant until 12:15ish. So unprofessional. Overall, the food is good. I got the bream for appetizer, steal for entree, ans armagnac savarin for dessert. The steal was really tough to cut. They serve bread and butter, and mini cheese croissants for the table. read more

The memory was so great that decided to bring the rest of the family here tonight for the great experience we had two years back. The service was good, the food was really not as great as what two of us remembered it to be. Bread and butter was awesome and couldn't stop picking at it.... Had the escargots, we tried two other more reasonable authentic Parisian restaurants this trip, and wasn't the best one we have had. It lacked flavor and tougher than other ones we tried. Same goes for the sweetbreads, not the best we tried this trip. A bit disappointed as it was one of the highlights from our last experience at Benoit. The veal steak came as highly recommended by our head server, it was not soft and lacked flavor, nothing really special about it. Very confused why this place doesn't have more stars than it does. I had a FABULOUS experience here. I made reservations online (very easy). I would recommend dressing up a little bit (we did not and felt a bit underdressed). We shared escargot and it was a superb dish. They were flavorful with pesto and melted butter. I got the beef filet and it was juicy and flavorful as well. One of my favorites I have ever eaten in my life honestly. It came with bone marrow, onion, and a macaroni-type dish that was very cheesy. Had a very nice, long, relaxing dinner. Servers were attentive. It was quiet and nice. They brought out little pastries after we were done.
