Albondigas Soup
Lara M.

I stopped by Benny's for a pork green Chile burrito and an Albondigas soup which were both amazing and tasted homemade. It took a minute but was well worth the wait. Very good!

Green chili sope.

Food was amazing! The chips were fresh and warm. Salsa had just enough kick. Maybe mild for most people but just right for me. Had the green chili sope. Wow! Perfect! Can't wait to return for their breakfast menu.

Bean and Cheese Chimichanga / Benny's special #1

The food is tasty. Benny's is based off of Mexico City cuisine. The menu isn't super large the specials are pretty interesting and unique. Service was really friendly and helpful. It's a casual setting and very clean. Parking is easy but the place is off of Grant so the road can be busy depending on the time you swing by. I'd definitely recommend the place when you're in the area.

Breakfast burrito with bacon

This place is super welcoming and I'm so glad they have a drive through. Had their breakfast burrito with bacon and it was one of my favorites in town. Sometimes you can get a burrito without enough filling but this wasn't a problem here! High quality ingredients and a fresh tortilla stuffed to the brim. Got the salsa on the side and I'm glad I did because it was SPICY, but it was so good I couldn't stop eating it.

Pombazo

My first time eating here. With such great food I was surprised to see the place nearly empty. I highly recommend stopping in for breakfast and supporting this local restaurant. The server was very friendly and tentative. I had the pombazo. This is a breakfast sandwich loaded with house made chorizo and potatoes. The bread is dipped in a delicious red sauce and topped with crema and queso.

Get to this magical Mexican heaven before 4pm or you'll miss out! I'm quite picky about my food and Benny's always satisfies. Great staff as well.

Excellent and authentic!!! This is a hidden gem!! Very clean inside and such friendly welcomes! The chips and salsa are the best we've ever had.

Benny's is one of those places that you drive by all the time and want to stop in because the must be good at a little spot like this. I recently moved into the neighborhood so I figured I'd try it. On A Wednesday morning while running errands I was craving Mexican breakfast. It was very slow, only one other person in the clean dining room with Telemundo on the TV. I was seated and the menu had many breakfast choicee...even pancakes. I munched on the warm fresh chips and salsa. The salsa was fine, almost like Pace, meh. I opted for the chillaquilles in red sauce. It was served with over easy eggs, refried beans and fried potatoes. The plate looked amazing . But looks can be deceiving. I took a bite of the refried beans sprinkled with cotija cheese and ......cold. Like not even close to be warm. So disappointing. The potatoes were tiny tiny. Very bland. The chillaquilles themselves were delicious. Chips cooked and smothered in red sauce were hot and delicious. I mixed them with the over easy eggs and was satisfied. I ended mixing up the beans in there as well as the potatoes. Old school style and using the chips like silverware. If you're Hispanic you know the chips and tortillas are as good as forks and spoons! All in all Benny's was fine. The highlight of the meal was the warm chips. Ill try other items on the menu at some point. I really want local restaurants to thrive but they really have to stand out!! As one of 2 customers in the restaurant the entire time, I was never checked on. No refill on my water, luckily I ordered a Mexican Coke. D I'm rooting for you Benny's!!

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

Spacious patio area, with cool lights, umbrellas, and many tables. If you have a choice and it isn't too hot, sit outside. The food is stellar! I got their ranch style flat enchilada, which is more or less a thick masa topped with enchilada flavors and spices. So yummy. (And it's vegetarian too!) The rest of the table (3 more) ordered the green chicken enchiladas. They didn't need to rave about it: their plates were completely clean at the end of the meal! We ordered Tamarindo and Horchata drinks between us, and frankly, the Tamarindo is some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Service can be a little slow, especially if they're busy. But we didn't really mind. It was a nice experience.

Their back patio looks super cute for warmer nights and the food was great. Little bit of a wait but the friendly servers got us sat as soon as possible at 7pm Saturday. Salsa and chips were tasty, the carne asada was excellent. The corn tortillas are thick and perfectly charred. The green enchiladas were good too. The sauce was thicker than usual, but that's probably the Native fusion instead of being just Mexican enchiladas. So glad we stopped in, we ate every bite. Forgot to take a picture until I was half through!

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
