Bean chimichanga - A disposable plate holds Mexican dishes topped with shredded cheese and sauce, with hands visible in the background, indicating a casual dining setting.

We've been going here for years - hundreds of visits (my kids LOVE the food!) and it's always been consistently yummy, the service has been friendly, the dining area is very clean, and they've never once messed up our order! Definite 5 STARS from us! The rolled tacos with guacamole are great for a light meal or snack. The chimichangas are delicious and very filling (see photo!)

Bean Tostada and Cheese Enchilada Combo about $10 - A disposable plate holds shredded cheese, lettuce, rice, and sauce, with a Coca-Cola bottle and a white cup in the background, on a restaurant table.

OK, simply put... Pacos has the best fast casual Mexican in Tucson! You can drive through or sit inside the small but spotless restaurant. Either way, you're gonna get great cooked to order Mex that is always yummy. Plus, the prices hover around the $10 mark for generous platters. Mexican cokes are also very fairly priced at around $2 a bottle. The only slight negative is the keyed outside restroom but hey, even the restroom is always spotless. Love me some Pacos!!

Carne Asada - A burrito with green sauce and shredded vegetables is inside a takeout container, with a fork and knife included.

The food is great, but I don't understand why it looks like the bag was swung around after it's put inside. My wife has uh... sensitivities that caused her to curse, run into and slam the bathroom door shut, and sob when she saw this. I'm really tired of having to console her when we eat here, but she doesn't want me to ever go back anyway. This is the 2nd time in a row this has happened. All I do is take the bag from the gal at the window, put it in the passenger seat, and drive 5 minutes home.

Breakfast Carne Asada Burritos - A breakfast burrito with ground beef and potatoes inside a flour tortilla, partially unwrapped and placed on white paper.

I was originally very skeptical because their breakfast burritos cost around 5 dollars but these burritos are absolutely worth that cost! Homemade tortillas with that necessary chewy factor. The burrito was absolutely chock full of flavor including perfectly braised potatoes and chorizo. Coming from San Antonio breakfast tacos, I can say I was still impressed at the taste and size of these burritos. Don't know about the rest of the food but I'll be sure to try out their lunch and dinner options at a later date!

I love me a good breakfast burrito. A local Tucson resident recommended I check out Paco's so I dropped in to pick up burrito to go. Service was fast, the place was immaculately clean and the servers were friendly. The burrito is very big-you may not need lunch! I ordered one with eggs, potato, beans, bacon and cheese. The tortilla was soft, warm and sturdy keeping things all together nice and neat - just like you want. I was provided two red salsas with my order, they were the consistency of a cholula type sauce-good spice but not overwhelming. I would have desired a bit more flavor from the contents-I hit it with a bit of salt for seasoning and things perked right up. Paco's must have local favorites, the drive-thru was busy while I was waiting for my order to be prepared (and I didn't have to wait very long at all.) Add Paco's to your burrito rotation-I think you'll be glad you did.

I love the ground beef tacos and the bacon breakfast burrito. It's great they still have the same quality as they have for over 20 years.

Flavor was just ok and the burritos were surprisingly small? I didn't have the same experience many others had unfortunately.

Unfortunately, Guadalajara is one of these places. What I like: This restaurant can accommodate well over 100 diners without sacrificing service. Food only took 20 minutes during a dinner rush. I appreciate a well-oiled machine. I will admit, the salsa gimmick is charming. What needs work: Just because there's tableside salsa does not mean it's good. I have never seen anyone use so much cilantro! The drinks are mid--the jalapeno margarita uses the mildest peppers in the universe, and surprise! It's somehow also loaded with cilantro. I excitedly went for the biggest, most famous burrito on the menu and it just has too many ingredients (beans, rice, bacon, shrimp, carne asada) to work. They were too ambitious with this one. My bad. I can see this as a really fun place to take a large group from out of town. I bet if you come from the Midwest (it is full of snowbirds from the Midwest), this is mind-blowingly good. By Arizona standards, however, there are just too many old-timey places that simply do everything better.

You walk in and it's alive. Busy, a little loud, full of energy, and it smells incredible before you even sit down. The food delivers in a big way. I went with a mix just to cover some ground. The carne seca plate stood out right away, deep, rich flavor without being heavy. I also tried a chimichanga that came out perfectly crisp, packed with filling, and somehow not greasy. That's a fine line and they nailed it. The enchiladas were exactly what you want too, saucy, flavorful, and clearly made with care rather than rushed out of the kitchen. Everything felt intentional, from the seasoning to the portions. You're not leaving hungry, that's for sure. Service kept pace with the chaos in the best way. Friendly, efficient, and they didn't miss a beat even with the place packed. It felt like controlled motion, not disorder. The atmosphere is part of the experience. It's not quiet or polished, and it shouldn't be. It feels real. Families, locals, people who clearly come back again and again. That kind of place. If you're visiting Tucson, this is a must. No question. It's the kind of spot that defines a trip, not just fills a meal.

The entire restaurant was packed with energy, music, and people enjoying the celebration, but it still managed to keep that classic Tucson charm and authentic Sonoran feel that has made El Charro such an iconic spot for over 100 years. The ambience downtown was fantastic, especially with the historic setting and the excitement throughout the evening. Cinco de Mayo brought an extra level of energy to the restaurant, with a lively crowd, great music, and a fun atmosphere that made the night feel like a true celebration. Even with how busy it was, the staff worked hard to keep things moving and remained friendly throughout the night. The food was excellent and full of flavor. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and you can tell why El Charro has become such a Tucson staple over the years. The carne seca continues to stand out as one of the signature dishes in the city, and the traditional Sonoran-style flavors really make the experience unique. The margaritas and drinks were also a highlight and paired perfectly with the festive Cinco de Mayo atmosphere. Between the food, drinks, music, and the energy of downtown Tucson, it felt like one of the best places in the city to celebrate the holiday. Overall, El Charro Cafe delivered a memorable Cinco de Mayo experience with great food, a lively atmosphere, and the kind of Tucson history and culture that keeps people coming back year after year.

Spacious patio area, with cool lights, umbrellas, and many tables. If you have a choice and it isn't too hot, sit outside. The food is stellar! The rest of the table (3 more) ordered the green chicken enchiladas. They didn't need to rave about it: their plates were completely clean at the end of the meal! We ordered Tamarindo and Horchata drinks between us, and frankly, the Tamarindo is some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Service can be a little slow, especially if they're busy. Their back patio looks super cute for warmer nights and the food was great. Little bit of a wait but the friendly servers got us sat as soon as possible at 7pm Saturday. Salsa and chips were tasty, the carne asada was excellent. The corn tortillas are thick and perfectly charred. The green enchiladas were good too. The sauce was thicker than usual, but that's probably the Native fusion instead of being just Mexican enchiladas. So glad we stopped in, we ate every bite. Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
