Benitos use to be my favorite until they started getting skimpy on toppings and overcharging people. Will never order from them again.

We are sorry we didn't formally introduce ourselves as we would have liked to call each of you by…read morename. It was obviously a family-run business, our favorite kind. First, we were met with a smiling face, and we immediately felt welcomed. Such a warm and friendly greeting, and the chat after ordering was nice as well. We let them know I was the lucky winner (of the WCN July Reader Appreciation Day), and we ordered our custom build--1/2 mushroom, cheese, pepperoni, and guess what, more cheese! I'd eat the kitchen sink, but I wanted my better half to enjoy the pizza with me. We also ordered the cheese bread. It was surprisingly seasoned to perfection, as others we have tried aren't, cooked to perfection, and my fiancée described it as "to die for" or decadent, LOL, and then she dipped it in the sauce. The look on her face said it all. She will tell you that the sauce is the best she has ever had, and I have to agree. Sweet, great tomato flavor, and a perfect balance of spices. She wants to know if it is sold by the bowl or gallon, by the way. Cheese bread, we give a solid 15 out of 10 stars, no joke! This was on point! Now, the pizza. Eye-popping, also cooked to perfection, and quite possibly the best pizza we have had in a long time, possibly ever. The balance of the cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, and more cheese was unbelievable. The pepperoni used was fantastic, not overpowering, and was much milder than the spicy kind you would find from other places, and we both loved it. The dough for the pizza is a perfect match for all the toppings, and did we mention the sauce!?! Pizza scores a 10 out of 10 stars, just phenomenal. So, thank you all again, we are in a food coma, and you have made true believers and fans out of us. We went not with expectations, but with anticipation, and we are absolutely blown away. We can't wait to see you all again. Now, go get yourself some G.Faz pizza. You will not regret it!

I rolled the dice and gave it a try. Best move ever. Great food quality and professional service. Fair prices too. Soprano-like vibe on the inside, dark lighting, big booths and tables, bad art, Sinatra music, Italian hairdos, the whole badda-boom badda-bing thing. Super clean bathrooms too. OMG the food! Delicious bread and butter, olive oil on the table, fresh salads (best blue cheese dressing ever), delicious Caprese salad full of balsamic-basil flavors, awesome mussels with garlic and oil sauce (sopped up with fresh bread), fresh made egg-cream sauce on the decadent spaghetti carbonara. Great hot coffee and a homemade cannoli for desert. Well made bar drinks too. I left completely satisfied. Perfect pit-stop for hungry travelers waiting for rush hour traffic to clear. My first choice for post-flight dining. Salute!

Seating was set up when we arrived and our waitress was friendly and very efficient! We had 8 separate checks and she did a great job matching up players w/parents. Food was incredible. Hot rolls were delivered to the table prior to our apps/salads and they were soo fresh. I ordered the Flat Iron Portabella appetizer as my dinner with a side salad. The steak was tender and the gravy was amazing. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan with palomino sauce and he loved it. Everyone raved about their meal, the service was amazing and it was a perfect evening after a long day of volleyball! Highly recommend!

The sauce is tart and a little sweet and there are small chunks of tomatoes here and there which infuse even more flavor with each bite. If you hold up a slice for a little CSI: Pizza action, you're going to see a firm "V" shape on the side profile with a slight bend towards the tip of the slice. As far as I'm concerned, the classics are the way to go. I would say "The Don" is the overall crowd pleaser with a little more cheese than the basic pep but I think I've permanently been converted to the "Moe Greene". It's simple, there's plenty of cheese, and you get to really enjoy the bread and sauce. The "Fredo" is also good if you want something a little different. It has a small dusting of hot sauce and a generous amount of diced chicken and a drizzling of ranch. The chicken and hot sauce are well balanced so you don't feel like you're chugging a bottle of Franks with your pizza. They've added outdoor seating since opening, the indoor wait area can get a little crowded, the wait times can be a little long during peak hours, and the drive to Melvindale isn't short. All those caveats aside, it's absolutely worth the trip and the wait.

There is some indoor and outdoor seating but we decided to take ours to go. We got a Margherita, Corleone, and Al Nieri (Italian Sausage and Ricotta Calzone). The Al Nieri was the our favorite, the cazlone was so soft inside and creamy from the ricotta. The second was the Margherita which was cooked perfectly and not too crunchy but nice flavor from the sauce and cheese. The Corleone was also very good but I think I need to get some ranch to dip it in which I regret not asking for. Definitely would go back and worth the hype although I can imagine it gets pretty busy at times.
