This place over charges for pizza and then wants to make up charges. Place is a dump too. People are lazy here. Don't go.

I've lived Downriver for several years now and always enjoy low-key pizza places, and I wanted something else besides chain pizza. This place looks like an absolute dump. There's no lights on outside and never any cars in the parking lot. To say the least, I wasn't impressed for several reasons. Yes, the place is rundown and ugly, but that doesn't really bother me. What bothered me was the following reasons: 1. They charge you an extra dollar for using your debit/credit card. 2. Pineapple counts as a "double topping" for cost purposes. 3. The pizza I received had no sauce on it at all. 4. The teenage workers behind the counter were quite profane and joking around with each other. 5. I ordered ham on my pizza, and there were less than two rectangles of ham per piece of pizza. The pizza was still edible. The cheese was thick and good, and the crust was fluffy and flavorful. But, it seems like they nickel-and-dime you with added charges and skimping on the ingredients. I've been to a million pizzerias and never knew pineapple was a premium item, and in what strange world does pizza not come with sauce? If I want to get a pizza like that again, I'll get one for a third of the price in the frozen section at Kroger and pick up a can of pineapple for a dollar. read more

I've lived in the Downriver area all my life and have passed by this place a lot. One day, I decided to try it. I ordered two pizzas, ravioli and a side salad. The pizza's nothing to write home about (not bad, but nothing to make it stand out), same thing can be said for the ravioli and the lettuce from the salad tasted like it wasn't washed. The actual look of the place is a bit dingy. They charge you $1 extra if you pay with a credit card and there's a small sofa in the waiting area (it's take out/delivery only) with a large patch of duct tape on one of the cushions. For being in business for 35 years, I expected a lot more, but the quality of food is on par with most chain places. Might as well save your money and go to Pizza Hut. read more

Being new to the area, I had to try Iggy's Pizza as it was right around the block. The small decollete building was a scare at first but was an immediate fan upon devouring some of their pizza. The toppings are plentiful and the crust is fantastic. Despite really digging their signature dishes, I had to give this a 3/5 for a couple of reasons. Both times I was in to pick up an order, the staff in the kitchen failed to use gloves when going from the kitchen to the cash register. This is completely disgusting and something that really turned me off with returning. Also this charge for the use of a credit or debit card. I get it, the merchants have their fees to deal with when using Mastercard or VISA. I also get it that the government okay'd the added charges, I however feel like having the charges passed on to your customers is distasteful and slightly discriminatory toward someone who doesn't carry cash. So having an added fee to my bill is not a "Thank you for your service!" at all. read more

I love visiting friends in the area because they usually grill something cool or pick up Jersey Giant (We are MSU grads and this is the only place besides E.L. that has a Jersey Giant) At any rate, last week came to hang out and they got carry out from Izzy's. Now, I LOVE me some pizza but not when I am looking forward to rib eye or lobster tail hot off the grill.....at the very least a kick ass sub when all else fails. Needless to say, I was getting pissed but once we pick it up and dug in my bitchface subsided quickly. Iggggyyys, me and my family moved down here about a year ago ordered from almost all the pizza places in Trenton/Woodhaven area. Iggy's is the place to order from.They put the cheese on top which is different for me but still loved it. They cook it to perfection and are always around the time they give you for delivery. So in the process of moving the we were starving so we tried this local place. One problem they forgot half our order of a salad. So we contacted them and low and behold we open the salad container and absolutely nothing was in there but lettuce!!! I see some high ratings here so call me confused on those. This place is just not good. First off they charge extras that are nuts for a pizza place. A dollar for using a credit card. Seriously!? Who has cash these days? Worse than that they charge you extra for flavored crust. Two dollars extra if you want flavored crust on a large pizza! Never seen this. So when I got my pizza I was thinking this better be the best thing in the world to justify the tacked on fees. Nope. It was just kind of flavorless and nothing special. I was hoping this place would be good but it's just not worth it. Also, it looked filthy in there. Seems like they could use the money from those extra charges for some cleaning supplies. If you're into the thick Sicilian style pizza, try Iggy's butter crust special. A butter sauce takes the place of tomato sauce, and fresh tomato pieces are scattered amongst the toppings. Killer 'za no matter how you configure it. read more

Iggy's pizza is undercooked and over rated. They say they are open till 11. They stop taking orders before 945. Food is terrible, just store bought crap. Anything fried, is fried in very over used and old oil and pizza is undercooked and bottom tier at very best! Don't know how they stay open. read more

Ok... All we wanted was a pizza (nothing special) and cheese bread. Placed the call at 5:00pm. The person on the phone sounded bored, honestly. He said that "they were a little behind" on delivery... A little?! It's 6:30pm and NO FOOD. We live less than 10 minutes from this place too! I called back after an hour and asked if our food had left yet and I was rudely told that "we are behind on delivery and it will be there." I said I wanted to make sure the food would still be hot. (Is that too much to ask?!) the guy tells me "well yeah it's gonna be hot but were still 30 minutes behind." HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! We won't be ordering from this place again..... Ordered ribs, ravioli, bread and pizza, everything was good, got within an hour which is fine, will order again for sure.

Tried Iggy's for the first time tonight. Ordered BBQ chicken, veal parm sub, & an Italian sub. The BBQ was the bomb sauce great skin still on baked then sauced and baked again I'm guessing it was the juiciest chicken. Came with a small salad fresh lettuce & tomatoes. The subs was great too. Oh Iggy's how I miss you and those delicious bread sticks covered in butter and parmesan! This little pizza place is for carry-out only but I will say that compared to many in the area they give you a pizza that will get your return business. The pizza has a very small hint of sweetness to it and they do not sell you short on the cheese. Try it...you'll like it. read more

I moved to the area three years ago and right away I was on the hunt for a good local pizza place. Iggy's was the closest so I decided to give it a try. I moved from Wyandotte and was possibly spoiled by Sportsman's pizza. Iggy's pizza just was underwhelming to me. Nothing special or noteworthy. A small step up from a frozen pizza. For the price I didnt think it equaled the quality of the pizza. This also included the additional fee for using a debit/credit card to which I wasn't told about when ordering. I signed my email up with the pizza shop and got an email 2 weeks later for a free pizza. So I was going to order more along with my free pizza. I call and the owner says that they don't do that anymore and they stopped it 2 years ago. I told them I got it last month. So I held off on my order and we ended up getting our pizza from tiffanys pizza. Very poor service and not committing to there own coupons. read more

Well if I didn't have to click a star I surely wouldn't. We've had Iggy's approximately 4 times. The first two were great, no problems. The third time, the pepperoni tasted strange. This time, we got the pizza with only cheese and mushrooms. Well let's just say I thought it tasted funny, but we were so hungry we ate two pieces each. Keep in mind I asked for extra sauce. Well, my cheese fell off and I saw THE DOUGH WAS RAW!! Of course I lost it! $16.00 for a raw pizza! I called and spoke with Joey, not sure who he was there but he was very rude and assured me their dough was not made with eggs, so we won't get sick. He said he would remake the pizza. Of course at that point all I'm thinking is the worst ( spitting in my new pizza or worse). I just requested we get our money back. He said that was fine and hung up on me. We brought the raw pizza back. The woman behind the counter advised me that if we decide to ask for extra sauce that WE AS THE CUSTOMERS must ask for the pizza to be well done in order for the pizza to be cooked. (?) are you serious... I repeated it back to her in disbelief, so I just asked if they could please reimburse us. They had to call the owner and were very reluctant to reimburse us... We waited almost 15 minutes while another employee discussed with the owner via telephone- the behavior and work ethic of the employee who made our pizza. We finally got our money back, but I guess there is a reason the place is always empty! Customer service is awful and the employees are very unprofessional. The woman behind the counter advised us that multiple people complained out the pepperoni and she thought something was wrong with it and advised the owner to get rid of it, instead they continued selling it to people she said....We will not return. *** not to mention they charge $1.00 for each credit card transaction and automatically charge for delivery as they hire from an outside company. *** no thank you!!! read more
