Sooo glad we FINALLY tried Francesca's Brick Oven Pizzeria! We first heard about it on the TV show,…read moreUnder the Radar a couple years ago. The small restaurant has a quaint dining area that is very clean. The waitstaff (especially Carmen!!!) are friendly and helpful. They have a nice drink menu and the food menu is FULL of yummy choices. The 4 of us had no idea what to order. Carmen helped us out by offering to 'surprise us'. We were not disappointed! We had the cypress salad, the double pepperoni + honey ricotta pizza and the potato pizza. Everything was unbelievably delicious!! It would EASILY have fed 6 adults but we were happy to have extra to take home. The canola cake and tiramasu cake topped everything off! What a DELICIOUS MEAL! Make sure you take note of the pizza oven they brought over from Italy!! Carmen filled us in on the restaurant's beginnings with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francesca. Try this place out!! You won't be sorry. And I'm sure you'll be going back again. Thank you Carmen for your great service! We will be back!!

In the past two months I have ordered from Toarmina's Pizza at two different locations. At both locations the staff has been so helpful and kind in helping me order for large groups. Just the right amount of sauce too. Salads are very large which you will definitely have left overs. We ordered bread and chicken wings.

I didn't have high expectations for this place ... a chain restaurant in a strip mall, which looks…read morelike they hired a designer for TGIFriday's. Everything about it feels corporate and 'cheesy', no pun intended. I flew into Detroit for business and had only an hour to grab lunch, so visiting the original location in downtown Detroit, where Detroit style pizza was 'invented' wasn't a possibility. This outpost would have to do. On a Thursday at 2 p.m. it was almost empty. This became more obvious due to the incredibly cancerous size of the restaurant. Bad sign. I sat at the bar and the most wonderful and sweet bartender waited on me. She was so helpful and nice ... in a Midwestern kind of way. The pizza (pepperoni ... old style) came out and I noticed that it looked like something you'd get at a ballgame or concert. Nothing special looking about it. However, the taste was amazing. It tastes the way I remember pizza tasting when I was around 10 years old ... so good and flavorful! I def. would have judged a book by its cover had I not tasted it. The cheese is very good and doesn't taste cheap. Sauce is acidic and no issues there. The crust is buttery and spongy. The only issue I had was that the toppings were super stingy. I think pepperoni was $3 extra on the small 4-slice pizza. When it came out, I was bummed out by how little pepperoni was on the pizza. Despite the cheapskate topping percentage, the pepperoni was good. Slightly cupped, a bit of a smokey taste and reminded me a bit of Prince Street Pizza in NYC. (Although I give Prince Street a slight edge in the taste) The house beer was pretty good as well and tasted like a cross between Blue Moon and Allagash. It comes in a frosted mug, which is a great touch. Even better .... when the bull came, the waitress had added a lunch special cost, which brought the cost of the pizza and beer down 25%. I never even noticed. I am already craving another Buddy's pizza. Hope to come back one day because this is delicious.
