We recently moved to Dearborn Heights from Indy, and decided to give Amico's a shot! We won't go anywhere else and try to go once a week. The toppings are so fresh and they don't spare on the amount they put on. The antipasta salad is super good as well (just ask for an extra dressing)! All right, the only thing keeping this place from being 5 stars is the pizza crust. The cheese, the sauce, the toppings, all delightful. But the crust was floppy and everything slid off. Now, I don't mind a thin crust, but it needs more density in order to take the amazing amount of cheese, sauce and toppings they put on. I found Amico's Pizza from a random post on Instagram. The pizza looked amazing and the cheese was ooey, gooey and pulled well. The crust edges were crunchy and golden. So on a pizza and movie night, I ordered from Amico's Pizza. We had a deep dish pizza with all the toppings in hope of trying it all. The pizza was delicious! This place has great pizza. I wish I lived closer, but it's a quick detour after running my dogs in rouge park. I've made this my go-to pizza joint after moving to Detroit. Can't believe how much bad pizza there is in this city, so finding this place was a great win for me. Having to pick it up is a mild negative. The crust is great, has good flavor and taste as if it's made on site and used fresh. If it's frozen or purchased dough, then they understand how to properly thaw and proof the dough. Love love love the pepperoni they use! It's the small kind that cups up when cooking. The cheese is also good quality. You don't need to order extra cheese, as the amount and quality they use is perfect. So why only 4 and not 5? Well, the place could use a good deep scrubbing. But this is actually a mild criticism. If it was horribly dirty I would not be returning as much as I do if at all. So I would say they are a 4.5 star pizza joint. read more

I'm originally from Buffalo NY (Go Bills!!) and have missed Buffalo pizza since leaving... this is the closest I've come to the pizza I used to love in my childhood in a while!! How can you not like a small family owned pizzeria?? There's no dining in and only a few plastic lawn chairs to sit in, but this is a diamond in the strip mall. It is pretty good for "Detroit-style" pizza...I didn't try their thin crust. The toppings are pretty high quality, the crust was good and had good caramelization along the edges. My only small gripe would be that I thought the sauce was a bit on the sweet side. Would definitely go again if I were driving by. read more

This is my new very favorite pizza place.. everywhere around me has been touch and go...inconsistent for years now.. my favorite place closed suddenly and I thought I would die of heartbreak.. I've tried Amicos before and although I have no bad memory if it, I don't remember it being this amazing.. probably because my loyalty to the other place was clouding my mind.. but I'm SO happy I have a solid CONSISTENTLY wonderful place. Good phone skills (very important to this socially anxious girl), fast and nice delivery guys.. and the food is GREAT. Best pizza in the area. We had a medium Hawaiian and it was pretty big and had a large amount of ham and bacon on it. Their garlic Cheese bread is a garlic bread with cheese on top. Pretty tasty as well. The place is in a small strip mall and they have a tiny sign that's not very well lit. When you walk in you are greeted by friendly people and you may even be lucky to see the old man hand tossing pizza in the air! read more
