Horrible place!!! Stay away!! After browsing a little the old man from the store asked me where am I from. He offered to give me discounts at the end, I tried a few pieces and he got upset I didn't buy anything. While having my stuff in the dressing room he yelled at me to leave the store immediately. What a gem of a store! I'm a year late in leaving a 5+ star review, but back again. The store is filled with lots of gorgeous, well-made "happy clothes" that are comfortable and colorful. (The store is called "Benneton," but the brands inside are not-which is fine with me! DO NOT GO IN. Negative Stars. Our family were excited to visit this United Colors of Benetton store when we visited Sausalito this weekend, but unfortunately, our experience weren't positive. This is not an authentic United Colors of Benetton store. The selection of Benetton clothing was limited, and most items seemed like generic retail wear. More importantly, we felt unwelcome by the store owner. It appeared we were profiled based on the assumption we wouldn't make a purchase. He told us " I don't think you will buy anthing and so leave" This behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the values I associate with the Benetton brand. While reading other reviews, I noticed similar comments about the owner's conduct. It seems this is a recurring issue. Can we have the option of selecting a zero star? The store attendant was out when I walked in with my friend's daughter and her cousin Dec 30, 2023. There was no one else in the store. We were sightseeing in Sausalito and were waiting for our table to be ready for a late lunch across the street. We decided to shop. When the store attendant walked in his demeanor was that of irritation. He asked if we wanted anything. I responded we were just looking around. I asked him if this store was part of United Colors of Benetton because of the name. He said, "I don't know. I just work here". He was folding one of two sweaters that my friend's daughter had tried on when he said that. Not looking up or making any eye contact, he asked us to leave. We had a horrible experience yesterday at this place. My wife and I were browsing through some winter clothes while the owner was busy with other customer. Once they left this old man started mentioning prices for anything we touch. When I decided not to go forward with the scarf, he said thank you very much and started mumbling in Arabic. Three of us walked into this store and as we started to browse an older gentleman came rushing up to a young man in the store yelling at him to get out of the store because he was closed for lunch. I've been to this store and I had a very unpleasant experience. I'm outraged, frustrated, and disappointed with the treatment of the owner due to the fact he doesn't know how to treat people with the slightest respect. I've already been in this store about three years ago, and this man treated me well, when I said "ok", he identified where I am from because of my accent. He was nice at the time and even told me that he knew someone from my country and city. I don't understand how this man changed so much over the years. The empty store should already be a sign not to enter. I went in with my family looking for some clothes and I was attracted by the "Benetton" store logo. When you walk into the store, it's a scam: clothes from other brands, and a huge poster saying that the products are up to 50% and 70% off, which is not true. When I saw a piece on the shelf, which had a label of another brand, we asked him the price and he started telling us to leave the store without any reason. He kept asking us to leave the store repeatedly with extreme rudeness. Never in my life have I experienced something like this in any establishment. If this man with this rude behavior doesn't like people, he has the right to withdraw and he doesn't need to talk with anyone, but at the very least someone who has a business needs to be at least polite with the customers, he doesn't have to be friendly but it doesn't make sense to treat someone badly. If he grew tired of receiving people on his store, I don't understand why wouldn't he just close it. Also, I don't understand how the department of consumer affairs didn't close the doors of this establishment with so many complaints. This place sells false advertising, it should not use the "Benetton" brand logo, nor signs with supposed discounts that do not exist. Where are the consumer's rights? Why do other neighboring businesses allow such a hostile man to stay around, keeping away tourists who only add to the city and sustain it? We were in Sausalito area yesterday 2/26/22 around 2pm with my friends. We are Asian and we are so excited to go to Sausalito because we knew that you have a Benetton Branch within the area. We grew up with your brand and we are a fan. We are in our mid 40's so we knew this Brand. We were all excited as we enter your store,  we were looking for some shirts and shorts...  The older guy  with a thick accent spoke behind me as I was looking for my size.. he said "all sizes are small" and repeated it twice. He went straight to the shirts where I am and he immediately fix them so I stand back. While my guy friend who was looking for a colored shorts and looking for his size   .. this old guy went up to him and he immediately said how much is it and fix the shorts right away. We were so embarrassed and we just decided to leave your store. How can someone on a retail shop can be as rude as your sales representative? We are so disappointed with how this old guy treated us. DO NOT SET FOOT IN THIS STORE. My wife examines a jacket and asked if I liked it. I looked and wondered "Is it waterproof?". The owner/salesman who was nearby chimed in, "Yes, it's waterproof". We both carefully looked at the fabric and expressed our doubt. He insisted that it was waterproof and suggested she tries it on. She tried it, liked it and proceeded to pay. The sticker price was $87.50. He cut all the tags and rang up the item. $143 and odd cents!!! We were stunned into silence for a few seconds before my wife asked "I thought the sticker says $87.50?". He replied, "That's in Euro". WTF??? A quick mental calculation at x 1.2 still wouldn't have been that much. We asked to check the tag and it definitely says "$". He acted surprised and said he wasn't aware of it. Then he seemingly went about correcting the price and says, $114 (and odd cents). Somehow this seem to be much more believable so we were happy and paid and left. Only later I started to calculate that even if the item was $90 and the sales tax was at 10%, the total would have been $99. Yes, under $100. So at the end he still jacked us for a few dollars. He's a crook and should be reported. I doubt that he's a member of the BBB though. Btw, the jacket is not waterproof. LOL! And Benetton website does not show any store in Sausalito or California. I walked into this Benetton store in Sausalito; after browsing around and looking, the older man asked me if I needed anything and was nice about it. I tried a few winter jackets, then he said which one you decided on, and I said, nothing at this time, thank you. Then, when I was out the door, he said, "GET THE F*$# out of here". I was speechless and could not believe this store attendant or owner used such profane and harmful language towards its customers. I have been to Benetton's all over the world and, they are all very nice with great customer service and products. I was playing tourist for a day and saw the Benetton store. Flashback to the 80s when there were Benetton signs all over the City..(The colors of Benetton) Since I never shopped there in the 80s and was just meandering anyway, I stopped in. I had no idea of the quality of their clothing. It reminded me of European stores that I had shopped in previously. I picked out some things for my daughters, and usually they don't agree with my fashion sense, but they really loved what I bought for them. The owner was there and was very helpful in pointing out things my daughters might like. Buyer Beware! This is a fake "Benetton" retail store that leverages the confidence customers have in the Benetton brand to sell fake and inferior goods to tourists. That's my opinion...and I'm sticking to it. How can a great brand like Benetton let this store on Princess Street in Sausalito California brand itself as a Benetton store?? The majority of the merchandise is low quality knock-offs that the owners sell as authentic. And, they take no returns regardless of the reason (even when the product/garment immediately falls apart) which is in direct conflict with Benetton Corporation's stated and very public policy for its retail stores. I had a very different experience here than most of the other reviewers. I found the salesman to be a attentive, not overbearing and had a good sense of humor. My wife and I both had a great experience and bought two nice sport coats. I even left my credit card there accidentally and didn't notice till much later and miles away. I emailed him on the card he had given us, he responded in short order and we picked it up the following day. He had tried to run out and find us but hadn't been able to. He was very professional and I have full trust in him. His space does have a bit of a pot smell, I assume someone nearby is growing it or something. This is a fake Benetton store. There's no actual Benetton product in the store except for what looks like homemade "San Francisco" Benetton T-shirts. 99% of the items in the store are off brands, Not Benetton. The prices are higher than the average Benetton online store prices. And none of the actual product - minus the throw back neon sign over the register and signage outside. The owner was very nice at first until he realized we weren't ready to buy anything. He used force and pushed us out of the store. I thought he was just kidding because the store was closing but after reading other reviews, I quickly realized he wasn't kidding. Now, for the benefit of the doubt, he may be the old owner of the original store here from the '80s.. but according to the official Benetton site, there are no stores in the USA. I asked where the Benetton branded clothing was. He replied that there isn't any anymore. That nobody wants it. That the company has "new" brands under other names.. hence, his store with not much Benetton-branded merchandise. So, I looked it up when I got home.. and sure enough, the entire story was a lie. The experience I had here has blown me away. In a very very bad way. I had never been into a Benneton before and for a first time experience it was shady and awful. Me and a friend were trying things on and the owner kept telling us he'd give us a great deal right. That doesn't sound too bad does it?! The vinyl jacket we were both looking at had a benneton price tag of $256.00 on it. The owner said "I'll give it to you for $99.00 so I thought that was an amazing deal. Only thing is, I didn't realize that the jacket wasn't a benneton jacket, it was a Ci Sono jacket. They don't retail for more than $60.00. I also bought a women's button up shirt. The original price was supposed to be $29.00 he charged me $60.00 all the while telling me how great everything looks on me and how "pretty" I am. . This man also cut the price tags off the merchandise once I purchased it and said there is a no return policy. As soon as I got home I realized something wasn't right. So I researched the brands. I then called the store to give them an opportunity to make things right and he rudely objected. I am now contacting Benneton's corporate and franchise accounts because he misrepresents the brand.
