We bought a couple of cashmere items, and a couple of long shirts that are just so comfortable.

You'll find lots of staples here including jeans, tees, sweaters and dresses that are perfect for any occasion whether it be work, weekend or a date. I love the range of brands they carry -- everything from Vince to Citizens of Humanity, Trina Turk, James Pearse, Ella Moss, Joie, C&C California, to lesser known, harder to find brands such as Hartford and It L.A. jeans. I love the fact they carry a large selection of Current Elliott and Mother jeans. That fact alone makes the store my go-to shopping destination when I feel in the mood to shop. Most of the merchandise is arranged by color which makes it easier to find things that work and look good. The store is always packed full of merchandise so take your time looking around, and for those looking for a deal, be sure to check their sale rack out front and in the back and they often have some real steals. They also have the best selection of jewelry. Whether you're looking for something for everyday or a special occasion, they have options at various price points that should meet your needs. Ronnie and Melissa are very nice, friendly and helpful. They have great taste and will always give you their honest opinion about fit, size, style, etc. I never feel pressured into buying anything and feel I am getting great, honest, trustworthy advice. And if for some reason they don't have your size, they will take down your name and number and can usually special order something for you.

With that said - the experience of shopping there has changed...pretty dramatically. I won't pretend that Carolina was ever a place for a bargain - it's always been a high end store with items that would be considered splurges or even out of the range of possibility (for the majority of people). In the last year, the prices have skyrocketed. What used to be the highest priced item is now the norm. $600 sweaters, $800 slip dresses, etc. Listen I get it, it's Mill Valley and an increasingly wealthier demographic with inflation being insane. But also, this sucks? Your prices have literally doubled. What once felt like an occasional shopping treat now just feels alienating and over the top. The owner / buyers have the best taste in town - if you're reading this, could you please bring back some of the more moderately (reasonably) priced brands? I think a lot of the non ultra elite 2% Mill Valley-ites would be super appreciative and love to support you again. But as of now, it's literally impossible. For what it's worth this is not just an opinion of mine but fellow friends who just want to go back to their favorite Carolina. I appreciate you taking the time to read and consider!

I walked in and never stopped returning. At this point I own three of those gorgeous shirts and the owner Punam has been unfailingly helpful, gracious and kind. For those of us that love Indian products, she also has an array of fabulous small gift items, even reasonably priced little bindis, statues and stickers of the various deities like Lord Ganesh. My favorite kind of place, When I go on a bicycle voyage around Marin I always make sure to make a detour to visit.

Since I had missed the return window, I listed them on Facebook Marketplace--only for the listing to be immediately flagged as fake. That raised a red flag, so I took the shoes to a well-respected designer consignment store in San Francisco. Their authentication expert pointed out three separate signs that the shoes were not genuine. So, not real real after all. When I took the shoes to The RealReal in Larkspur, I was directed to a text-based chat with a "specialist" who told me that because the return window had passed, there was nothing they could do. I'm now out over $400 for two pairs ( one with a broken heel that they said I should have come in right away about). Extremely disappointed. A company that claims to care about luxury and sustainability should at the very least stand behind the authenticity of what it sells. This experience makes me seriously question their values.
