This is my favorite women's boutique in downtown Mill Valley. They have a great selection of clothing, accessories, jewelry and shoes. You'll find lots of staples here including jeans, tees, sweaters and dresses that are perfect for any occasion whether it be work, weekend or a date. I love the range of brands they carry -- everything from Vince to Citizens of Humanity, Trina Turk, James Pearse, Ella Moss, Joie, C&C California, to lesser known, harder to find brands such as Hartford and It L.A. jeans. I love the fact they carry a large selection of Current Elliott and Mother jeans. That fact alone makes the store my go-to shopping destination when I feel in the mood to shop. Most of the merchandise is arranged by color which makes it easier to find things that work and look good. The store is always packed full of merchandise so take your time looking around, and for those looking for a deal, be sure to check their sale rack out front and in the back and they often have some real steals. They also have the best selection of jewelry. Whether you're looking for something for everyday or a special occasion, they have options at various price points that should meet your needs. Ronnie and Melissa are very nice, friendly and helpful. They have great taste and will always give you their honest opinion about fit, size, style, etc. I never feel pressured into buying anything and feel I am getting great, honest, trustworthy advice. The Store is a little women's boutique in downtown Mill Valley. My boss has been shopping there for years. The style is very low key & modern with just enough wow factor to make you look amazing without noticing your clothes. Its kind of Housewives of Marin meets Upper East side NYC. What stands out the most here is customer service. This is the kind of place where they can look at you and know exactly what will look great on you. What I love about The Store are not only the hip cute clothes but the owners, Evan and Ronnie and Melissa, who works there are so genuine and helpful. I rely on them to keep me up to date when I get in ruts. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is because I wear a size 24 pants and they don't get too many of them in and often don't have my size. I love Evan and Ronnie! They are so friendly and all the girls there have a great eye. The clothes and accessories are stylish but not over the top. Just a store full of comfortable cute awesome clothes. My friend bought a bunch of cute little beaded bracelets made by a local artist to give to her daughters. It's so hard to find prints that aren't too crazy and I found my favorite dress here. The store is organized by color so it's easy to find things. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I had lunch in Mill Valley with my girlfriends and we decided to do some shopping afterwards. We walked into this store and I kid you not- the blonde woman behind the counter stared blankly at my friend without any response or greeting. Absolutely rude and snobby. Not once did any of the ladies greet us or ask if we needed help. We were ready to do some serious shopping, but quickly walked out because of the negative vibe. We were dressed nicely, each carrying high-end designer bags and wearing stylin shoes, so it's not like we looked like out-of-style frumps. It's a pity that people have such snobby (dare I say racist) attitudes in the Bay Area. Don't shop here if you are non-White. So sad... read more

I have never before written a review on Yelp and it saddens me to find myself in place now that I feel I must do so. My experience with The Store has been nothing but disappointing with their customer service. I recently went in for the first time to shop for a gift for my daughter who is very finicky. I hemmed and hawed over what I was purchasing. I explained how difficult it was to buy for her and that I wasn't sure she would like both items I chose for her. After looking and hesitating I purchased two items. I was asked if I wanted them gift wrapped, I replied yes and was a little astonished to see gift wrapping was a box you can purchase at Rite-aid and 2 pieces of tulle for a $90 T-shirt and a $146 pair of sweat pants. I paid for my purchases and was asked if I needed a gift receipt and I said no because if anyone was going to return the items it would be me. Needless to say my daughter loved one item and not the other. I returned to The Store to return the one item and when I pulled out my credit card for a refund, I was told they only do returns for store credit and asked " was that okay". "No", I replied "but if that is what it is then that is what it is". I returned to my office and asked myself why I wasn't informed of this policy when I made my purchase. I felt deceived and cheated. I felt the store clerk and every opportunity to tell me about their return policy particularly when she I went into so much detail about my daughter. I returned two days later and explained to the young lady behind the counter how the experience had made me feel. I explained I never saw any notice regarding the return policy and she pointed to up to a shelf on her right hand side to show me where their policy was located. I looked up at the shelf and saw a framed signed that was more than half way hidden behind a plant and 2 bottles of what looked like body lotion. I told her that not properly informing or having their sign in a visible location as per California law made me feel lied to and cheated. I left my business card and my receipt and ask that they issue me a full refund. I received a phone call the next day on my home phone to please call and speak to Evan regrading my return. I called on a Friday and had my call returned the same day by Evan. She angrily told me they would not issue me a return. They were compliant with their signage (as I'm sure they were at that point after I pointed it out to them) and that no boutiques in town give refunds. I was also told they could not afford to give refunds and finally if I was unsure about my purchase I should have asked about the return policy. But she said she would talk to her business partner and get back to me on Monday. Today is Wednesday and I haven't heard back and so I'm left with this warning for all that shop there that their policy is BUYER BEWARE. Customer service is not something they strive to excel in. Take the money and run seems to be their motto. Their business model of that's what everyone else does left me questioning if everyone was jumping off a cliff would you do that too? Is this why they can't afford to give refunds or do they need to keep other people's money to pay their bills. And so my credit or what feels like a no interest micro loan to a business I will never go into again saddens me. All this over $150...... read more

THE best place for ladies clothing in Marin. The owners, Evan and Ronnie have a great sense of style and fill this boutique with great casual and going out clothing. The customer service is excellent which is why I pretty much shop for everything here - they will tell you very honestly if something does not look good. They know their stuff and I have not found a better place to buy jeans - they have a great selection and will tell you what works and what does not - they are experts on the brands and will help you figure out when to size up or down depending on how a specific brand stretches etc. They also go out of their way to order you something if they have sold out of your size. They stand behind their products and if you have a problem with something, they will work with you to help get it fixed.
