FAKE FAKE FAKE. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY FAKE BRANDS AND BE TREATED LIKE DIRT. The owner was so rude from the minute we walked in. I wanted to see two different styles of Ray Bans. One style I already owned but wanted to see it in a different color. We were in there briefly and left without buying anything because he got super pushy, and also the seal along the lens on one of the Ray Bans was really off so I even whispered to my husband "does that look right?" When we walked out, I took out my own Ray Bans from my purse to see what they looked like again in terms of color and the seal... I wanted to see if they had that same issue as the ones in the store (they didn't). A few seconds later, the guy came out with his suspect Ray Bans and accused us of STEALING. Are you kidding me??? I never even went for my purse the entire time that we were in the store. And he was with us the ENTIRE time. Why would I steal his probably fake Ray Bans. He was suggesting that we switched out his for ours. If you're this concerned about stealing, get some cameras for your store. Then you would be able to watch your tapes and see that no one is stealing from your overpriced, maybe not even real brands products. I tried to take a photo of the owner harassing us and my husband literally had to block him from getting in my face for him to walk away when I shamed him and told him he was embarrassing himself. Seriously, do not go here. You can get the same brands and styles on Amazon or Sunglass Hut or at the actual direct retailers for the same price or most likely even less. The Ray Bans I got for myself were from Sunglass Hut online for $100 with a promo code. Same style was $110 at his store based on the "deal" he was trying to give me. I CANNOT believe this guy. I've never been treated like that before. I wish we could give zero stars on Yelp because this place deserves to be SHUT DOWN. read more

We stopped by this store over the weekend and I finally found a pair of Oakley's that I always wanted but could never find the style that fit me. Were the cheap NO! Fair priced, maybe -after a little bargaining. But I totally enjoyed the experience. The owner let me try at least 15 pairs of sunglasses (of different brands too) before I decided on the pair I got. I am not a very active Yelper like some other people, but I made a point of leaving him a good review. I was shocked by the nastiness of some of the feedbacks! Overstates retail prices and offers discounts to make you think you are getting a deal but in reality the price you are paying is at or above retail. I was looking at a pair of Persol sunglasses which he had at $325 retail but offered 30% off which brought the sunglasses down to $227. Sounds like a good deal right? I looked up the same sunglasses online and saw they retail for $191 but were on sale for $165. When I asked him why he has them as $325 retail he responded with "why don't you buy them online then" and "why are you wasting my time". Total prick. Avoided answering the question, didn't make an attempt to work with me, and acted like an asshole on top of it all. A week after Valentine's day, I was a bad boy and still late on getting my girlfriends gift! I had the equivalent of "writers block" for gift choices. After walking by this shop, the idea of a nice pair of sun glasses immediately struck me as a perfect gift choice. The man here was extremely kind and helpful. We must have tried on 30 pairs of sun glasses, trying to imagine how they'd look on my gf, and he asked me about her face shape, style, and features so that he could recommend options that would potentially suit her well. He was personable and professional, and we had a very good experience. Eventually, we settled on a pair of Gucci Cat Eye "Bamboo" looking frame glasses that my gf loves. He helped tighten my friends glasses and straightened them out for her and cleaned them for her as well. She ended up getting some Valentino glasses herself, shortly after, brought on upon the pleasant experience of working with him. We felt the prices were very fair--- I was shocked to read these negative reviews after checking his Yelp page so I can write my review. I don't understand why people are upset it is a iittle more expensive to get sunglasses on the strip of Sausalito, with full service, rather than buying from some online retailer. Of course if he gives them to you 30% off, that's based on an inflated retail price to begin with-- how do you expect this guy to stay in business? The prices were fair, especially given location & the service. His business is not an easy one, and by talking to him & reading these reviews, it sounds he gets a bit frustrated by people trying on 20 pairs of glasses, finding the one they like, then taking a picture of the model so they can buy it online and save $20. I don't blame him. I was also shocked by the claims of "FAKES"--- when I read this, I suspended writing my review and got very upset... i thought I had been taken for. However, I researched online how to spot fake Gucci Sunglasses and I have no doubt in my mind these are authentic. They have every proper marking, certificate of authenticity, genuine bag & case & branded cleaner, proper lenses which fade a bit from top to bottom--- I read nothing on these Yelps that had any valid evidence against the authenticity of his products. I first came in here about a week ago and the first thing I noticed was a "ON SALE $99" sign in the front window seated next to the Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses. Being a huge Marc Jacobs fan, I know they usually retail for $98 at any credible department store. They had some models in there that I wasn't familiar with but didn't give it too much thought. Fast forward a week and we're back because my boyfriend had his eyes on a pair of Persol's. As we were looking around, the sales girl points to my sunglasses. Sales Girl: Oh, did you get those here? Me: No, I didn't. SG: We have a sale on Marc Jacobs right now. Me: What's the sale? SG: They're on sale for $99. Me: Well, they retail for $98. SG: *crickets* Busted. Excuse me miss, but if I'm going to pay for my sunglasses, I better damn well know how much they cost. At this point, I do a quick online search for the Persols online, that had a in-store listed price of $325, and found not only that they retail for much less online but were also on sale for $165. My boyfriend points this out to the store owner, giving him a chance to explain his reasoning, or strike a deal. Instead the owner asks us "WHY ARE YOU WASTING MY TIME" "WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO BUY THEM ONLINE?" Well, that's exactly what we'll do. And who's time are we wasting because I don't see anyone else in the store. After this, I wouldn't be surprised if the glasses here are knock-offs. read more

I have waited for several years before writing this one-star review of Time After Time, but now that others are having negative experiences, I'll throw my one star in as well. Several years ago, my wife and I purchased an apparently new old stock Hamilton watch from the store, and were told we would get it for 40% off the asking price. It sounded good, and my wife loved the look of the watch, so we purchased it. Unfortunately, when the merchant punched it in his register, he overcharged us a significant amount of money. I did the math in front of him, and confirmed it. He didn't apologize and didn't look at me again--which tells me that he attempted to overcharge us intentionally. I wonder if he's used to taking advantage of tourists to pay his outlandishly high old-town Sausalito corner rent. But that's not an ethical way to sustain one's business. It's very interesting that other reviewers (I read the filtered reviews below) felt that they were getting expensive "discount" prices and that sunglasses purchased here may be knockoffs... So we walk into the store and he asked what we're looking for, and my baby told him what she wanted, a particular style of Tom Fords. He had no clue what kind of glasses we were talking about and decided to sell us something he had stock. We tried on a few pairs and he was very nice. Weird, but nice. He continued telling us a bunch of stories about how he's been in business for 23 years and how we shouldn't trust Amazon.com. The glasses he finally showed us were marked for $420, and with a 30% discount made it $285 according to him. His math either sucks or he doesn't care. This got me a little bit concerned as this would cut into his margins, unless his margins we're super high, which seems to be the case, as the glasses were worth about $220. We asked how much can be sell these for and if the price was reasonable, we would probably buy them. Then he started to say things that did not make sense. How the price is set by the manufacturer and that he is not allowed to sell it for less, but for us he will sell it for $5 less. Hrmmm.... Ok. He also went into a whole song and dance about how he lost his license to sell Chanel glasses because of something that happened. Alrighty then. Anyways we said we were not willing to pay $280 and said have a good day. As we walked out, he mumbles a bunch of obscenities that we pretend not to hear. Some eastern European mumbo jumbo were also added to enhance the rudeness. It was a nice day and I didn't want to start an altercation. No biggie... Crazy mofo. Conclusion: The mob boss wannabe that owns the store marks everything up by 200%. So even with a 30% discount, you are still paying over 20% above department store prices. read more

I came in here with my girlfriend and the intentions of her getting a pair of Raybans that I had bought elsewhere for myself because she liked them. Instead of being asked if we needed any help after a few people had left the store, we were not only overlooked by the young girl at the counter but stared at mildlessly while she rested her arms on the glass case in the middle of the shop doing absolutely nothing. In most cases poor service doesn't usually warrant me to post a review, however just because two people walk in wearing running attire rather than LV or Prada doesn't necessarily mean there is no money ready to be spent. read more

While on a mini-vacation last week I was given the name of Time After Time to purchase a pair of Designer sunglasses. From the moment my friend and I walked in we were treated with nothing but complete respect. We were greeted and assisted by a very polite young lady who, showed me every option in my prefered style. At no time did she lead me to an expensive brand/style, she stood back and allowed my friend and I to look through several options and make our own judgements. I purchased a pair of very nice Tiffany & Co. sunglasses at that time. I walked down the sidewalk and, within 15 minutes dropped them on the ground and scratched the lense on one side. At that time, I chalked it up to my misfortune. The next evening we went back to that side of town and I decided to drop into Time After Time to ask if there is anything they could do to lessen the damage. The Owner, who I am not sure if he would want me to use his name so I will refer to him as Mr. R, was very interested in helping me. He asked if I could leave them with him, that he would have a new lense put in for me and, ship to me in Texas as we were leaving the next morning. I left them with him, he called the very next day to let me know they would be on their way to me via Priority Mail by the next day. I received them this morning, I am so happy with them and, the excellent service I received at their store. I called Mr. R to THANK him for all of his help and let him know how nice it is to be able to trust in a gentleman's word and handshake. read more

When I went to return the glasses, he told me his sob story about how slow the business has been with it being colder weather-- he does not accept returns because he is "Not Nordstroms" Why support a local business that is dishonest and does not accept returns? When visiting Sausalito, I forgot my sunglasses and found myself in Time After Time. The owner is such a nice, helpful, patient man, with a great eye for which sunglasses would suit me. He found me the perfect pair on the second try. Then a month later, I lost them in an Uber and he sent me a new pair all the way to Toronto, for a great price. I think he felt bad for me, and I so appreciated it because they were quite expensive. I highly recommend Time After Time. Our experience was so horrible at this store, I created a Yelp account to warn people to avoid this place. My wife and I were in the store and there were two other couples already in there trying on glasses. After the male salesman (who seemed like he may have even been the owner or at least the manager) finished with a customer, we had to ask for help and ask him to try on some raybans. He unlocked the case and we tried on about 6 pairs while he helped other customers. I was going to buy a pair, and so was my wife. My wife asked if they could put prescription lenses in or if she had to use an optometrist for this. He quickly grabbed the three pairs we were looking at and told my wife "don't waste my time, you just lost me money, and now i have to clean all these" I was shocked because I was still about to buy a pair, and my wife just asked a question. I got pissed and told him not to talk to my wife with such disrespect and they he was the rudest salesperson I had talked to. His only reply was that we cost him so much money and was making a scene in front of the other people in the store. Also I must mention before this embarrassing experience, he told us the raybans were "on sale for $135". Well, the RayBan website listed the MSRP as $130. Please support small business, but not ones that disrespect, embarrass, and offer sketchy pricing schemes. Hopefully this is the last negative review I'll write on this site. read more
