This is a unique little boutique with cool clothing for women. If you like stuff that's lacy, ruffly, knitted, floral, bohemian chic and feminine, then you'll like this store. I got a gorgeous two piece top set there yesterday on sale for $39.99. That is still a little pricey, but worth it to me. It's a nice kind of peachy tan color that comes with a matching sheer tank top. The second piece is a sleeveless vest that's ruffly at the sides. It's not over the top though. The cut is slimming and generous. I was able to fit into a size SMALL there and I normally wear a a size L or XL in shirts! Since my arms aren't that big, I was able to pull that off-:) They carry XL sizes which is great! Most of their clothing is figure flattering. It's hard to find cute clothes that fit when you're um, curvy, but not here! Even if you tend to prefer more conservative type clothing, you just might end up liking some of their stuff. Some of the stuff is expensive but the quality is good. I saw a few cool and comfortable looking cardigan sweaters for $89.99. The sales lady there was helpful and took the handful of clothing I was carrying and started a dressing room for me. This store is small and there aren't too many dressing rooms, so you might have to wait for one when it's busy. Other than that and the fact that some of the stuff is a little pricey, this store is wonderful! They also sell jewelery, watches, scarves, belts, and shoes here. I just like their clothing and scarves. The other stuff is just OK and a bit too flashy. Although this place is almost an hour away from where I live, I'll be sure to come back here sometime. There are lots of cool shops and good places to eat at around this area as well! read more

I love this store. I see lots of negative reviews about not getting attention. Well, in fact I do enjoy that. If I walk into any place I was raised that I am the one to say hello. I am the one entering the place to look around. I do not expect over the top hellos and attention from the walk in. In fact I find it annoying to be greeted, informed about sales and all that fake (really) helloness. )In Mexico is right the opposite, they will make friends with you from the get go - that almost ruined the trip for me. I had to say to BACK OFF.) If I find something that I like I will make it to the counter and ask a question. To me it is that simple. But I think it is a cultural difference. There are lots of tourists in Sausalito and id think that these people are aware of cultural differences. That is how it is in SOME countries in Europe and it is nothing personal. The greeting, smiling is just over the top and Id think "She is so nice to me because she wants me to spend money here". Well, while that might be true - if i like something I will buy it regardless if someone said hello to me or not. I totally understand the people working there too - now wear that fake smile to strangers to 8 hours per day. C'mon everyone has life and shit to deal with, you can not be happy ALL THE TIME. Give them a break, they have to deal with hundreds or thousands of tourists from all over the world always. Now imagine to what cultural differences they are exposed to. I understand both sides. Love, love, love this store! Unique, not very pricey, and gorgeous styles (and did I mention unique - lots of 'bling' plenty here!). My first visit - a couple of weeks ago - the sales lady was not very accommodating but, oh well -- I didn't care -- Loved the clothes and jewelry. I picked up a couple of pieces (Lol.. a jacket, jewelry, and two blouses) for a wedding later this summer. Very happy! So, I went back this weekend (received another wedding invitation and 'where-better' to shop than IMAGE in Sausalito) and picked up more pieces and jewelry. LOVE this boutique. It is the one stop that I never miss when I am visiting San Francisco. If you like artistic, creative clothing that layers well, fun accessories, and prices that are reasonable, you'll love Image. I am always friendly to the two lades who work there (owners? not sure) and they are helpful, friendly, and accommodating in return. Any time I visit Sausalito I check out this boutique. I think the prices are good considering the area. ($35-60 for a flirty top or drapey sweater) which is more reasonable than the boutiques in CT where I live! If you're expecting TJ Maxx prices you'll be disappointed. They carry unique, funky, boho, and on-trend items that add a little pizzazz to my wardrobe. The store owners are on the quiet side and may be wary for shoplifters since this is a touristy area, especially on weekends, but I left a pair of expensive sunglasses in the dressing room and when I went back to look for them the next day they graciously had held them behind the counter in case the owner returned. I bought several cool, tops that layered over a longer, lacy-edged cami underneath. Also some cool necklaces and bracelets and scarves. I'll go back next time I'm in the area. Yleana this is an amazing boutique every time I am in the bay area i make it a point to stop by their long sweaters are amazing I have bought this long sweaters in all colors since they are perfect for Miami weather which is not too cold. I bought the the most beautiful embroidery jeans with matching top perfect for my bike outing.this store is just wonderful! They also sell tops, jeans jewelry, watches, scarves, belts,. I just like all their clothing so much that the last time I was in San Francisco I brought an empty suitcase and I cannot wait for my next trip I just adore their clothes and the sales lady whom is also the owner is so wonderful it has always been an incredible positive experience shopping here. read more

I absolutely love this store and all that it sells. It is not a large boutique but it is packed with a lot of classy, tastefull clothing. The prices are not cheep but not overly expensive either, considering you are shopping in Sausalito. All I have asked my husband for this Christmas is money to shop at this boutique. I recently lost 20+ pounds and need a new wardrobe. I can think of no better place to find one that will flatter my new figure. read more

RUN, don't walk from this store. The two salespeople have no training in how to deal with customers and have decided rudeness works. Someone needs to tell them it doesn't. They were verbally abusive to a customer while I was in there which shocked me! I was going to look around and possibly buy something but they had very negative, suspicious looks on their face every minute I was in there. It is almost as though they feel we are not going to add to their business in a positive way, but rip them off. Anyone that cynical about customers should not be in business (or at least get the ugly look off your face and fake a smile.). read more

If there was a "minus star" rating, I'd give this clothing store one. Just as I entered Image, one of the saleswomen came within inches of me and reached above my head to pull something off a clothes rack, brushing my shoulder and almost knocking my glasses off. I expected to hear "excuse me" but she said nothing, and the other saleswoman immediately disappeared somewhere into another room in the back of the store; I felt invisible. Oh well, I was in a great mood and wanted to do more shopping so I went to the back of the store where the jackets were and tried on few, and THAT was when I finally got their attention; I was watched VERY carefully and followed, but not a word was spoken to me. However, I didn't let that get in the way of trying on some of their frilly, very cheaply made garments from China. After a while I felt so uncomfortable I decided to leave, but before I walked out of the shop I turned to saleswoman behind the counter and told her (kindly) I was disappointed no one spoke to me the whole time I was in the store. Her response was, "So, what do you want us to say?" So I said, "Well, a hello or come back again would have been nice" She just glared me as though I'd just confessed to pooping in the dressing room. I'd definitely recommend this place to those with masochistic leanings. read more

I went to this store a couple of weeks ago with a friend. We both really liked the clothes and thought they were very trendy and stylish. But we didnt like the salesgirls at all. They werent friendly or helpful and didnt make us feel welcome. I was trying on a sweater and went to the mirror to look at myself in it . Then I walked back to the rack to hang it up. One of the salesgirls rushed over to me. She made me feel as if I was going to steal it or something. I felt really uncomfortable .. Then I was looking at a scarf and took it off the maniquin. The salesgirl looked upset at me and told me there were scarves on the rack and that I didnt need to take it off the maniquin. Here again, I wasnt helped in a friendly manner. I think they would do a lot more business if the salesgirls made the customers feel more welcome and treated them with courtesy and respect. Having a really good business isnt just about the merchandise, it's also about how you treat your customers. It's developing a rapport with them and letting them know you value their business. read more
