Wow! These folks are absolutely fantastic. I've now purchased two batteries from Bend Battery and each experience has been well above top-notch. The first battery was for a pop-up Four Wheel Camper on my truck and they took more than reasonable time in helping me understand which battery was best for my set-up. They also walked me through a few additional steps in helping me to better understand my electrical/solar system in the camper. I then needed a new truck battery today and they were able to get me in on the spot. They continue to go the extra mile in getting my set-up dialed, making great suggestions, all while keeping my camper battery overnight (in which I'll pick up tomorrow) to recondition it to ensure it's working properly for an upcoming trip. Went in when my alternator started to die (for the second time this year), and not only did they work with the warranty company to see to it that I didn't have to pay anything extra, they also adjusted their time and prices to fit into the estimate that I was given when it was originally fixed. And on top of that, they gave me a lifetime warranty on their work. I wish that they did full car service, because their work was so thorough, prompt and affordable, but unfortunately that wouldn't leave them time to work on batteries - oh well. I was pleased and surprised to find my somewhat esoteric Lifeline RV house batteries in stock anywhere in Central Oregon. Bend Battery had them and it was clear that they know a lot about batteries. I had the misfortune (or in all seriousness, the luck) of having to replace my Hybrid Battery pack in my 2001 Toyota Prius after running it for 16 years and putting 145800 miles on it. To make a short story long, I took it to a Toyota guy in town who diagnosed the issue and suggested I research some fixes on the net and/or find a local service shop that could do the replacement since he had not yet done one. I took a couple days and found some stuff online but it looked a little sketchy, and come to find out, in hindsight I would have been up the proverbial creek had I tried to DIY this job. So I reached out to some electrical specialty auto shops in Bend and although none could help me, one referred me to Bend Battery. I'm so glad they did. After I sent Jacob an email hoping he could help me out, I got a nice reply which got the ball rolling. After a few exchanges over email and on the phone I decided on the right battery replacement option for me and had the new battery in my car by the end of the week. When I arrived to pick up the car it was getting a once over with cleaned windows, vacuumed and fresh interior. As things go sometime, or for me all too often recently, the first battery pack didn't work out and my car blew another engine warning a few days later. I turned it back in to Bend Battery first thing Monday Morning and before I could get an email off to Jacob he had already run the codes, taken it for a test drive, and ordered a replacement under warranty. Nice! Then I call him and he offers to take some movies back to redbox that were sitting in the back seat... this guy goes the extra mile. I can't guarantee you'll get the exact same treatment from Jacob as I did but I believe he really values staking a place in the community and building a good reputation by being a thoughtful, conscientious member of it. Long story short, I now have a great running Prius again, after 5 days driving it. and Jacob was on top of the warranty replacement from start to finish. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing Bend Battery was in helping get my car serviced. While driving around town this morning my car engine idled oddly and shut off three different times so I drove/limped my car to an auto parts shop, then another repair shop and a mechanic for a diagonostic code reading to see if my battery was being charged and if it was still a good battery....I was told by the three different places that it might be my battery (one tested fair/but not charging and the other two tested that my battery was still good) or it could also be my alternator going out and that It would take at least half a day to check it out thoroughly. I really needed to get it fixed quickly and needed a reliable mode of transportation to get to work, pick up kids, drive to the airport....etc. I decided to look online and found THIS place....Bend Battery. I called and talked to Amelia and she explained how the battery and the alternator work and told me to bring it in and they would take a look at it. I was super duper impressed with their friendliness and customer service right away. Jacob and some of his associates immediately checked the battery once I arrived at their shop and explained everything to me that the diagnostic code showed. My battery, it turns out, was not good, in fact it was really bad and my alternator was still in great shape according to the code reader. In about 15 minutes or less a new battery was installed and I was out the door. Jacob even took my vehicle for a test drive to make sure that the battery was working properly and wouldn't stall out due to the battery replacement having to reintroduce itself to the newer technology of reprogramming itself....or something like that:) Jacob, Amelia and their crew are top notch and I will sing their praises to everyone I meet. Made an appointment just 3 days out to evaluate problems with the solar in my older sprinter conversion. It has no shore port so I rely on my solar system. Late at night I was discovering the batteries draining causing the carbon monoxide alarm go off - it relies on the power from the solar batteries. Dropped off the van and shortly after Jacob tested the systems and had the solution ready for review. I am so pleased with the new and much better batteries (was down to 25% in the old) and a new solar panel doubling the energy going in to recharge the system. He answered all my questions, completed the work the same day and I was off an running by early afternoon. No need to look further for this type of work. These guys are still A-1. Had a problem with our year and a half old battery. It wouldn't hold a charge well. When tested it just barely passed and they could have easily said the battery was within specs and done nothing. Truth is that it was within specs but it shouldn't have run down that quickly. They replaced the battery with full credit for the old one. In and out in less than 15 minutes. These are good people and deserve your business. We are lucky to have local business people like these. Unparalleled service and attention. Knowledgeable, funny, helpful to the point of making me feel guilty of asking so many questions and sucking so much information. Overall, I feel that I got more than what I paid for and that is special. We ran into an issue with our auxiliary battery in our Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia. The issue being it was deceased. We were on the front end of a week long trip and they not only replaced the battery from stock inventory, but also installed new ports to charge our phones and electronics for the trip. Even better yet, they diagnosed the problem that caused my original battery to die. This Vanagon has been in multiple auto electrical shops and no one else could figure it out or at least be willing to put the effort into doing so. All this done in a few hours. I'm kinda bummed that we ran into these guys because they are three hours away and I don't want to take my vehicle anywhere else. The Best! I usually go to some generic store like Costco or Napa, etc. for battery needs, but I was concerned about other electrical issues on my vehicle as well. Jacob and co. performed a free test to rule out any issues with my alternator and wiring. They were easy going and knowledgeable.
