Ordered a guitar online arranged the financing guitar was reported to have been shipped. After several unanswered emails concerning the tracking number , A phone call was made and I was told that I would be emailed the tracking number , no number was provided again next day I called again and the manager said he would have to check with the shipping clerk, and he said he would call me back within the hour no call the next day I spoke with my financial institution and they suggested I dispute the order. I made 1 last attempt to call and 3 unanswered calls followed. So I left a message telling them I was going to dispute the purchase and immediately got a text telling me to check my email. Basically they told me that they never had the guitar to sell it was a remnant from 2024 ! These guys lack integrity to say the least ! They maybe a great brick and mortar store but online they are very unprofessional BEWARE!!!! read more

Excellent service! A local musician recommended the spot. I was able to rent gear last minute for a wedding band, and prices were very reasonable. Staff is awesome, knowledgeable and helpful. The owner Ted felt the need to disrupt an entire event. He used his ownership of Sunday guitars to justify rightness which is why I feel ok posting this review - he used the business to justify himself. He got up on the stage at a secular event folks paid $50+ each for and quoted scripture and gave a lecture to the crowd. As a person who's been abused by clergy this was very triggering. Our whole table was offended - and I didn't even know five of them. An entire table behind us got up and left the event. I'm upset we bought a guitar from this place last month. If I'd known how the owner holds his views above all others and feels ok pushing his agenda on an unsuspecting crowd, I would have abstained from patronizing the shop. I don't think it's right to hold an entire room hostage and get up on stage in front of a paying audience and lecture them. His views should be respected - but time and place - everyone deserves respect. Since he was representing Sunday guitars, be okay with that if you go here. I won't patronize his shop again. I don't like people that put themselves above others without walking a mile in their shoes. read more

Terrible service, and unethical owner at Sunday Guitars Bend. Managment will actively scam you for your equipment, and is unresponsive when called on for an explanation of their actions. I dropped off four pieces of music equipment over a month ago for appraisal. I've heard nothing after continuously reaching out, and I'm afraid the owner has stolen/resold it without my permission. I recently started taking guitar lessons and came in to upgrade from a kid's guitar I bought on Craigslist to a nicer, adult-sized guitar. I felt intimidated when I walked in, but was soon made to feel at ease. An employee named Kirk asked if I needed any help and offered to play any of the guitars I was interested in so I could hear the difference. (I felt too shy to plug in and play what little I know.) I had a lot of questions and he was very patient with me, giving me space to take my time and look around, but also making sure to check back in. Everyone at that store is super-friendly and I never felt pressured to make a purchase. I ended up getting a beautiful (used) PRS SE guitar with the case for a very nice price. I LOVE it. I went from practicing once every other day to playing multiple times a day because that guitar just calls to me! Whenever I go on vacation, being a guitar gear nut, I do my best to seek out at least one local guitar shop; partly because I'm curious to see if there are any deals or gear that I've never seen, and also because there are times I don't bring a guitar and need to play. On this trip, I satisfied both at Sunday Guitars. It's a small, locally-owned and operated shop. From what I could tell, there were no more than 50-60 guitars on the walls, with a large proportion being acoustic guitars. They had very few mainstream, name-brand guitars. But the guitars they did have were all set up nicely and had a great sound. It was pretty slow in the shop - I came in on a Sunday - and according to Ted, the owner, Sundays were usually pretty slow. And at that, he directed me to a cord and an amp to plug in. He took down a guitar from the rack and plugged in and we just jammed for a while. That was just SO cool! At that point, I didn't even know his name. We were just talking about gear and playing at different venues and it was just an organic thing. Just enjoying the beautiful day playing guitar. One of the things that I have found in my travels is that these small shops usually have one or two special things that sets them apart from their competition. Sunday Guitars is no exception. They sell these guitars made from a local builder called Iron STIX. These are metal, hollow-body guitars completely hand-welded. The builder uses discarded guitar parts for the neck and electronics and that's totally cool! But what makes them even more special is that the builder is literally one-handed. He lost the use of his left arm in a motorcycle accident! So with that guitar, which I played during my jam session with Ted, I satisfied my curiosity for cool, interesting gear. There's definitely a great vibe at Sunday Guitars. Ted's not at all pushy. He's super-friendly and he greets everyone who enters the shop with a smile and he goes out of his way to make people feel comfortable. Great energy in this shop. The next time I'm in Bend, Sunday Guitars will be one of my must-visit places to go! read more

Sold us our guitar even though it was pretty close to closing time- we never felt like we were rushed or anything of the sort and we have an awesome guitar now. Musicians looking out for Musicians So, I was on my way from Portland to Bend to play 2 gigs with my band. I knew a had a long trip ahead of me, so I rushed out of my house and packed my car with all the gear I was going to use at the gigs. Well, as I am just about to Bend, I remembered I didn't load my stand for my Roland HandSonic, that I totally needed at this gig. It would have been a pain if I didn't have that..I started to panic. As I was driving down 3rd st, I just so happened to glance to my right and BooM there was a music store, SUNDAY GUITARS. I was like, they probably only carry guitar equipment. I went in anyway..I was desperate, I thought that if they didn't have the Roland stand, they would know who did. As I walked in I was greeted by a cool, inviting, happy friendly person, can I help you?? I told them about the stand I needed, as they could tell I was stressed about it. They didn't carry that kind of stand but Ted (Owner) was like "hey don't worry, we'll create a stand for you" He pulled in his employee Dennis, and Dennis was gathering different stands and piecing parts together and in no time he created one for me that FIT perfect on my Roland. Not only did these amazing gents help a fellow musician out of a bind, but didn't charge me to use it for 2 days. Pure Kindness I can't say THANK YOU enough ! We went in with my son to another shop in town and they didn't want to help us. They turned us around and sent us out of the door. So we drove by Sunday Guitars and asked if they did repairs. They luckily did repairs and even gave us a loaner as it would take a few days. This was a real life saver for us as our son was scheduled to play with his band in a few hours and his instrument needed some parts as well as repairs. We will go here again. We were in Bend for about 10 days visiting family. My kids had to have a keyboard and a bass to practice during their vacation. Stopped in to see about a rental. The owner hooked me up with a nice Warwick bass, an amp, a Casio keyboard (plus a stand, gig bag for the bass, and a cable). Super helpful, reasonable price, easy to deal with and I'd go back to use them again in a second. If your in town and want to rent, I recommend calling and giving them a try. I have to give this place 5 stars plus! We were in bend for a show at the capital and stopped in just to browse and they told us about a benefit they were having for a sick friend that worked there. So we went there and bought 2 raffle tickets for an electric guitar. The show was about to start so we left before the drawing. On our way home to California we thought we better call and see if we won. Sure enough we won it! A really nice custom electric guitar from Orange County choppers! The owner was really cool about this and sent it to us. We thought we would have to pay him the shipping first , but to our surprise it showed up before we could even do that. We are so grateful! I'm just getting back into playing guitar after an 8-year lapse. Presale staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Encouraged me to play as many guitars as possible. This was my first electric guitar purchase so I had a lot of questions. They were very patient with me and answered all my questions. I ended up buying a second-hand guitar and a practice amp. Post sale was not great. I had owned the guitar for four hours (played it for two) before one of the pickups failed intermittently. Upon bringing it back to the shop, I was informed they would not allow me to return the guitar, and that they would give me a "deal" on the repairs. I was not thrilled with this resolution. It's unlikely that I'll be going back there. read more

I really can't say enough great things about all of the people who own/work in this shop. I have two children who play instruments and I have gone to Sunday Guitars for everything from purchasing instruments, to service, to sheet music. I have always been treated more than fairly (turns out cello strings aren't cheap!) and have not only had quality service, but also enjoyable interactions with staff on every one of the many occasions I've been in or have called on the phone. Service is always done quickly, and their awesome business hours actually make it possible for a working mom to make it in to the store! I honestly feel that every time I support a local business I am rewarded with better, friendlier, service (and the bonus warm fuzzy feeling you get when a shop owner or clerk actually remembers you and your family). Although the employees are knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, and helpful; the owner tends to be controlling, rude, condescending, and unengaged. We have been in this shop multiple times now and have had the same experience with the owner. Even at one point making us uncomfortable while he scolded an employee who helped us greatly. Decent shop, great selection but we probably won't be returning after the experiences we've had with the owner. When it comes to the service, avoid the owner and go straight to the employees. I don't know but the guy gave us bad vibrations as far as the way he treats customers/employees depending on who and what they are. read more

I went in on Nov 14th, 2013 to have my low-end Takamine acoustic guitar tuned and to ask about lessons. I'm in my forties and finally getting around to learning how to play the guitar. From the start I was treated well. The salesman on duty (an older gentleman whose name I forgot) was very helpful and very knowledgeable. I had to wait for him to help an older lady ahead of me, who had a lesson in about 20 minutes. No problem, I wasn't in a hurry. The salesman gave me a free humidifier kit and tuned my guitar for free also. I did buy a tuner and lesson book, but those are low end items and considering the time he spent with me, I know the store made nothing on my initial visit. Furthermore, when I asked questions about a possible guitar purchase for my wife, the salesman didn't try to steer me to the middle or high end stuff, but rather showed me acoustic guitars in the $200-$300 price range. He demonstrated how they sounded compared to the higher end acoustics, saying that just starting out, it's better to get a lower end guitar and use that until you get your fundamentals down and have an idea of what kind of materials and quality you want in your next guitar. My 17 year old daughter took her grandmother's old guitar in to repair a tuning key and replace a missing string and to "fix it up". She was given a written quote of $75 for "all". It took 2 months and when she went to pick it up they charged her $175! They didn't call to let her know it would be more expensive or to ask if she wanted more done - totally unacceptable to take advantage of a kid like that. read more

I really just can't rave enough. I have been to a lot of guitar shops. Some big name box stores to the smallest little shops in back alleys. This is hands down the best shop I have been to. These guys don't care if you have been playing for 5 minutes or 50 years. Took my epiphone Casino Coupe in there knowing that the neck was definitely having issues and was more than likely on its last leg. Wes got her playing great with no more fret buzz and no dead spots! She may not play great forever but Wes definitely gave her some more time! Also if you go in there, try the Fishman Loudbox Acoustic amp if I haven't bought it. You will thank me later. read more

I bought a used acoustic electric guitar here and was generally pleased with the experience. The staff seemed nice and eager to help, which unfortunately is somewhat rare in the industry. However, a while later I went online to do some research on the guitar, mainly the types of wood and parts and such. During my search, I continuously noticed stores and individuals having the exact same make and model of guitar for considerably less than I had paid, by about 25%, in fact. I dug deeper and noticed that the guitar company's latest and greatest model in the same line is being sold new for about $50 less than the used one I had purchased! I decided to call the store to inform them of what I have discovered and to inquire about the pricing policy. To my surprise, the store clerk advised that I should "do this research before buying a guitar". While a valid point, this is hardly what I wanted to hear. I explained to him that while his point was true, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a certain level of professionalism and trust from a vendor that customers will be given a fair price when buying a guitar. At this point the conversation took a turn and he became condescending and basically told me I had a bad attitude and was too emotional. In the end, I like the guitar just fine, but it was highly overpriced and now I can't help but feel I was taken advantage of. read more
