Great, fast service! I went to several shops to try to get the battery repaired in our Shinola's and was ultimately referred here from another shop that didn't have the right tools. What a lost art / service! I took all of my watches to get new batteries AFTER I bought a comprehensive tool kit, came to find out in that 30 piece set, it was missing a certain tool. The owner was glad to help and we went back with my other watches and now are all happily working. Super nice guy with a dog that loves his belly scratches! I left a watch to have the stem replaced in October '22, paid $30 upfront (my bad). Never heard from the shop. After several calls being told I would hear back within the week and never hearing back I finally chose to go to the shop to retrieve my watch either repaired or not on Feb. 6th, 2023. Upon arriving I was immediately informed my watch had been lost! I requested my money back. I was asked what else I needed. I replied that I needed my watch back but in lieu of that I would accept double my $30 back as I felt I could find a suitable replacement for that amount. I was offered $200 which I accepted. (Later found a replacement would cost $185 plus shipping. What should have taken a few minutes wound up costing me my watch and a lot of frustration. 110% to be trusted! So I just stopped by cause of a Mickey Mouse watch has a pin broken. He fixed it in 1 minute and said to have a great day. This review isn't because I didn't have to pay, but because if a business owner is nice enough to fix something for you and then say to just have a wonderful day, it says a lot about the person. I couldn't speak higher of Dan or IWR. I called about a week ago to ask how much it would be to have the crown and stem replaced on my watch, I was quoted $30. When I went in today I expected to drop it off, but Dan dropped everything, and fixed it on the spot. It was done in under 3 minutes and then he looked at me and said "that was super easy, so just give me whatever you feel like, but not more than $20." My husband had a rather expensive watch that needed a battery replaced. Dan was prompt and thorough. But, I have a watch (about $250) that had stopped working and two other battery shops/jewelers were not able to make it work. I took it to Dan and he confirmed that the battery was still OK but getting low. He reminded me I had a life time replacement battery from another company so he just sprayed the insides with some oil and replaced the gasket that a previous jeweler had failed to re-install. Now my favorite watch is not only working fine, but Dan did not charge me for this service nor try to sell me a new battery! What a find. Great work, excellent service, and very reasonable prices. He resurrected one of my Nixon watches, which had been out of commission after having another local company replace my batteries - which then voided the waterproofing (not blaming them -- I was told it would...just didn't want to send it in to Nixon, have them charge me an arm and a leg, and not have the watch for a month or two); I then made the smart decision to go jump in the river anyway with it on.
