I have an older SUV and the radio and CD player just quit. I called a few places but found Bench Mark's over the phone customer service to be top notch. I did not want a new radio, just repair the old radio, if possible. Michael set an appointment, pulled the radio, told me it would be mailed for repair to a place that specializes in them and if the radio couldn't be repaired, they would send a radio just like it. The radio came back in less than two weeks. Doug had the radio installed in less than 30 minutes and it was my old radio that was able to be repaired. The cost was much less than estimated. Michael and Doug did everything they said they would do. Both men were personable, as busy as they were, and made me feel like a friend and not a number. This is a top notch business with many years of experience among the owner and employees. Popped in recently, advised needed to replace a stock head unit with a new double din system. Dingus working the counter says he ONLY has two stereos to show me? A "low end" model and a "high end" model, I said is the "high end" model a Kenwood? Yes he says, proceeds to show me $1200.00 head unit! I might spend that on home audio, but in a car?? You would have to be a tard to spend that amount of cheese on car audio. Prattled on about how they haven't had a "radio" for a year??? I advised, how are you still in bidness then? He advises they do installs??? So they don't have equipment to sell you to install but they do installs?? If you can follow that logic your doin better than me! read more

While trying to uninstall a faulty radio / audio control module in a 2014 Linc Navigator I could not remove the antenna wire. This as the only step left in removing the radio. I was afraid if I broke the cable I'd be in real trouble. Went to the Lincoln Dealer just to ask how to disconnect the cable. Service Dept. said they were "to busy to answer questions for free". Stopped by Best Buy they said " no audio techs were working due to COVID 19 BS ". They suggested Benchmark Michael at Benchmark listened to my dilemma, smiled came around the counter said " where is your car " ? Got in my car pulled the cable free and said " have a nice day, if you ever need our help again just stop by". Now I don't know how you judge people but for me it starts by how they treat you. All around great experience- mike was pleasant to deal with. Had a remote starter put in and he explained it very thoroughly as well as installed in the time he had said! Will recommend to others Update/ the remote start was faulty and caused our van to not start with the starter or with the key. The gentlemen at the store did try to say it was something we were doing wrong(we weren't) but, since it was in the warranty period, they replaced and I had it back before the day was over read more

The workmanship is great but it's the people that make this place outstanding! On 09/24 I called Benchmark to see if I could get an FM modulator installed 09/27 on my girlfriend's car for her birthday. I realized the timeline was tight but I had a short window to sneak her car over there while she was away on a trip. At first he said their schedule was too tight for 09/27 but after I explained my predicament he said he'd get me in on 09/27. First, the fact he realized I was in a spot was awesome and it made my life a lot easier right there. I took the car in at 3pm. The technician started working on it at 3:20. They had planned for 90 minutes of work and I was quoted accordingly. The technician finished in 1 hour. Without me saying a word they corrected the bill and charged me for an hour labor instead of 90 minutes. How many places do that?! Last, the car is 11 years old and when the technician was looking at things with me inside the car he noticed the cigarette lighter plug in socket was not tightly secured. In fact, it was hanging out and looked ratty. I never said a word about it but he messed with it a bit so I know he noticed it hanging out. When I got back in the car I noticed he had resecured the cigarette lighter. He just took it upon himself to do it. All combined? 5 stars across the board in every possible way! My recent experience at Benchmark, though kinda messed up, turned out to be a five star. The first thing is the fact that they agreed to put in an electronics system that I had bought elsewhere. That alone is 4 stars. The tip over point was when after they installed it and found it it was defective they took it back out, tried to give us free labor, and even washed my truck! Astounding! Of course we wouldn't let them charge us nothing, 'cuz we're working people too, but that tells me A LOT about how these guys do business. Have done business with them twice. Don't be taken aback by the appearance of the place...it doesn't have a clean cut look. But unlike Best Buy...they have great service and do good work. You're a number to the big box stores. To these guys, you are a real customer. read more

Normally I don't write reviews for places but this time I received such awesome service I had to. When my fiancée went to Vegas I wanted to surprise him with a new stereo for his truck for his birthday. I called benchmark and spoke with one of the guys who worked there. I told him what I was looking for and if I could get any kind of a ball park price (several stores told me they wouldn't do that and that I had to come in). He gladly looked up a couple models for me that met my criteria and priced them out along with the install. I immediately went into the store to pick one out. So after my purchase I then had to ask him the tricky question...my fiancée is coming back in 3 days, can you install it for him so I can surprise him? He looked at the schedule and told me it would be tight. I said any time would work I could get the truck in and the guy behind him told me to come in the next day after work and he would stay late to install It for me!! Needless to say thanks to their awesome customer service I was able to give my fiancée a gift he loves!! Not only that but because their service was so awesome....I purchased my remote start for my car the same day as the stereo....when it comes to stuff like this I will always use this store! read more

While visiting my parents in Springfield this summer, I decided to have a new radio installed in my dad's vintage car. The staff at Benchmark was fair, honest, and very easy to work with. After going through all the possible costs prior to installation and getting my approval, they actually completed the install for less and refunded me part of the cost.
