I have a Smart Car. I called several places including Isringhausen and was told by all they did not work on Smart Cars. A stranger was walking by my house and told me his friend had a Smart Car. I asked him where he had it serviced? He called his friend and his friend told me "take it to Floyd's, no where else". My check engine light was on and I also wanted an oil change. They were very friendly, had the oil filter in stock, and they had my car up on the rack within minutes. They charged me exactly what I was quoted for the oil change. They also diagnosed why my check engine light was on and fixed it at no extra cost. I was very lucky to have found Floyd's! read more

I had difficulty getting back to pick up my car using mass transit and wasn't aware they closed at 4 (I should have checked when there rather than going by what Yelp posted) However it was more than made up for by them bringing my car back to me. Thanks guys for going beyond the call! Which absolutely rates 5 stars! read more

Fair honest pricing to fix your vehicle. Floyd brothers will have my business for life. It's hard to find a good honest mechanic. This place is it. I highly recommend Floyd's to fix your car. read more

I keep old cars longer than most people would and the reason I keep them is the confidence I have in the Floyd Team's ability to keep them going. The connection started with a 76 Westphalia camper that I held on to for 35 years followed by a Rabbit diesel that endured my mistreatment largely because it knew the repairs would be done right. Good service, straight talk, fair pricing. What more can you ask? read more

Wow! Extremely pleased with Floyd's. I had an oil change at green and they said my battery was bad but they didn't have mine in stock and didn't have any openings soon. This was unacceptable for me since I work in STL. I started looking around and a family member recommended Floyd's. I called around 11:30 am and they specialize in VW and had my battery. They told me to come after 1 pm. I arrived around 1:05 pm and i was in and out at 1:37 pm. I appreciate a company who is realistic on time and stuck with it. They were very nice too. They were also way more reasonable than green. Price point is great. I would 100% recommend!! read more

Floyd Imports is professional and an all-around high-class place to take your vehicle. I own two VW Beetles and finally found a shop that knows what they're talking about regarding Volkswagens. They're trustworthy, knowledgeable, and courteous. I never leave reviews, but I want consumers to know that they can trust Floyd's. 5 stars all around!! read more

Dave and Eric are the best when it comes to finding out exactly what's needed for car repair. I've been using them for years and always trust them with getting to the bottom of issues. They are a highly reviewed business and a very reputable one! I would highly recommending getting advice from them if you are needing repairs or opinions on your vehicle! read more

I have been going to Floyd's since before they moved to the new location. For some reason, I always pick cars that normal garage shops wouldn't touch. My original car with them , not as bad, Pontiac Solstice but preferred to take it there. I now own a Mini Cooper Roadster that isn't made anymore and normal oil change places can't do it so I take it to Floyd's. The last year I had a flat tire, luckily near Floyd's on a weekend, dropped it off without calling because they don't work on the weekends...run flats are a great thing like I said I was only two miles away. But with their busy schedule got it in. Recently, had an issue with my mini, they were honest said they think it is an engine computer issue that they didn't think they could fix. Told me I have to take it to a mini dealership. They were 100% right didn't try to fix the minor stuff or do other things to it to charge me money that wouldn't fix the problem. I feel really bad that it did sit in there lot until a company could pick it up to transport it to STL (closest mini dealership) while their hours are not the most convenient...they truly are the best in this area! The part that I need they would not have been able to get because the Mini dealership told me they have another car exactly like mine that have been waiting on that computer since April! I greatly appreciate the Floyd's and will refer everyone and once I get my mini back from STL, I will continue to go there! read more

I've been taking my cars to Floyd's since I started driving. They're thorough and their prices are fair. The Floyd brothers have treated us so well through all the years, when they tell us something needs to be replaced or quote us on a price or a part, I know they're always going to be 100% honest with me. The day my Corolla needs to be replaced I don't care what kind of car I get, as long as it's an import that I can take to Floyd's! read more

Since driving in Springfield,my car has always been serviced by Floyd's They're dependable, know their vehicles well, and always give the best advice. I driverBeamers and would take my vehicle no where else. As long as I live my service will be done at Floyd's. read more

A prospective buyer of my car asked me to bring my car to Floyd's for an inspection. Having already had my local mechanic inspect the car, I reluctantly agreed. They found a few things that "would eventually need replaced in 4-6 months," and gave an astronimical estimate that was nearly TWICE what my local reputable mechanic (Mear's in Mattoon) quoted me. And what's worse, when I got back in my car, my check engine light was on! Upon inspection, I found 4 wires under the rear passenger side undercarriage that appeared to have been cut during inspection (perhaps by accident), which appeared to have caused the check engine light to engage. When I challenged the mechanic, and asked questions, he cussed at me and told me to leave. I do not recommend Floyd Imports. read more

Honest , knowledgeable and capable. Knew what it would cost before I agreed and when done the estimate was exactly the same. No pressure add on services like the VW dealer This is my go to repair facility for my car. read more

I took my Prius to get the A/C fixed since the Toyota dealership tried, charged me and failed! They found the problem immediately and had it fixed within hours. They only charged a third of the price Green Toyota charged and its actually fixed this time. They also went above and beyond I was out in the parking lot check in the oil on my Cadillac burning my fingers on the stick. They came out immediately and checked it for me, went inside, grabbed some oil and topped it off for me free of charge. I was very impressed with their kindness and professionalism. read more

Floyd's is a professional repair shop that is conscientious, very reasonable in price, listens carefully to my concerns when I bring my car in. The car is always clean when I pick it up and the work is done at the appointed time. The pride in their work is obvious by the immaculate facility. Technicians are friendly, and "the brothers" are great guys! Take your car there with full confidence in great customer service and careful repair work. read more

Great for Volkswagen service! Efficient and knowledgeable! Incomparably better than the other VW dealer/service in town. It's nice to feel like you can trust the person you're talking to and they're not trying to nickel and dime you. read more

I love my Beetle, but let's face it, it can be a pain in the ass. But unlike the VW dealers I've dealt with, Dave and Eric get me back up and running without all the bullshit and run up bills... which is something that can't be said for most mechanics, especially those that deal with imports. I live in St. Louis, but continue to bring my car to Floyd's because they are literally the only guys my dad and I trust to deal with my car! Dave knows I'm on a budget and does his best to help me prioritize what needs to be dealt with right away, which is something I truly appreciate. read more

I'm not a mechanic, but I know a fair amount about cars and am willing to do a lot of research. That said, I have familiarized myself with several of the factory and design bred flaws in many modern car models. It is very pleasing to talk to mechanics who not only know their way around multiple makes and models, but make an effort to keep current with known trends regarding wear/tear on said models. Good mechanics can fix major problems; great mechanics will listen to their customers and assist in nipping problems in the bud before they become a real issue and not gouge them on information asymmetries. My experience with Floyd's has been a breath of fresh air. Having now taken multiple vehicles to them, I am confident in their abilities and recommend their services to anyone seeking to have an import, especially a VAG or Audi vehicle, inspected or repaired. read more

Friendly, experienced mechanics. Fixed my Toyota Avalon with OEM parts, and for 2/3 less than Green Toyota quote.

Eric and Dave are some of the nicest guys you'll meet in the automotive industry. Been going to them for years and never had any concern they were overcharging or fixing issues that did not need addressed. read more

Honest family owned company. Always easy and pleasant to work with. Quick service. I had a father as a mechanic and voiced what I thought the problem was (it would have been quite expensive to fix) but they called back and it was not that but something much quicker and cheaper to fix. They could have capitalized on my statement but didn't. Highly recommend. Also the lot is well it and I feel safe when my car is in their care. read more

We brought our MINI Cooper to Floyd's for six years before we moved out of state. We always had excellent service. Recently we got notice that under a class action we could recover $500 for the water pump we had installed in 2013, but we had to provide a receipt! Of course, we didn't have it. We called Floyd's and they said they thought they could help us. Within a few days we had a copy of our receipt. Excellent service even for former customers. read more

Had Floyds Imports install four new brake rotors in spring of 2014 for Jaguar XJ8. Was told they put high quality ones on at about 900.00. Within 6 months they warped. They replaced them in Feb, 2015, or so they said. Within 6 more months they were warped again. On 9/2/15 took car in and they said they replaced them under warranty and gave me a receipt saying Replaced Front Rotors under warranty. They tried to say I had warn out bushing arms that was causing it, which did not make sense. I called Peoria Jaguar and Eurosport in Springfield. They both said that was ridiculous. I took car into Eurosport to find out what possibly could be causing the rotors to warp so quickly. They showed me, Floyds had not replaced them at all. They simply resurfaced them and was told there was nothing causing problem except they used cheap rotors originally, and they would warp again soon. I called the owner and he admitted to only resurfacing and had an attitude and said he was done working on my car. Unbelievable! I used to recommend them to people. No more. Stay away from this place!! read more
