Reserved and attentive staff. Ate indoors. Lovely lunch. Nice menu variety. Good for sharing. Recommend the beef and pickles/olives appetizer also that had savory juices -ordered bread just to sop this up. Recommend green salad here too.

Omg this is a must stop for their traditional codfish shrimp and clams dish. It was so delicious that it was eaten before I could snap a picture. Its right on the main drag where there Is plenty of people watching while you dine.

We were in Belem visiting the Belem Tower and seeing the area and came across Belem 2 a 8 and decided to try it for lunch. Nice menu, Tapas like and seating outside , great for people watching. My wife ordered the Chicken Salad, mixed Nuts with a Fruit dressing, she enjoyed it. I opted for Garlic & Soft Chilli Prawns, very good. Definitely a nice restaurant to try.

    Late lunch in Belém

Chris and I dined here for a late lunch at 2pm today. The restaurant is an easy walk from the Geronimo Monastery and away from the worst of the crowds. The restaurant is inside a charming historic building and features patio and indoor dining. Both are clean beautiful and cozy. This is a small restaurant. It was a tad cold so we chose to dine inside. It's somewhat cramped but we lucked into the ability to keep a table for four to ourselves. Mid meal the staff tried to sit a single woman at our small table which we were open to however she decided it was too tight and she left. Service was friendly and staff speaks functional English. Prices are mid price and in line with the area. Chris ordered the Portuguese stone soup which actually had a real stone in the hotpot. I ordered the baked cod crusted with cornbread and served over sautéed greens with roasted potatoes and onions on the side. We also ordered the olive plate and bread basket. We ordered the recommended wine from Douro Portugal and it was amazing. Portions were large and each is generous to feed two people. Total bill was 49 euro and then a tip. A good value for a nice restaurant and quality food. We recommend this restaurant!!

I discovered this restaurant from a Lonely Planet Lisbon recommendation. It's a quaint, small restaurant with seating both indoors and outdoors. They offer traditional Portuguese cuisine at a reasonable price. By reasonable, I mean affordable for American standards, yet a little high for Portugal. Belém is a touristic area, so this is to be expected. With that said, the food was amazing. The service is slow, but in my short experience with Lisbon this is normal. The decor was quaint and coastal providing a comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the Seafood Rice dish and it was delicious. I didn't expect a wet and somewhat soupy rice, which is something I usually do not enjoy. However, the flavor more than made up for it. My husband ordered a typical Sardine platter with a salad and potatoes. It was simple, fresh, and healthy. We enjoyed the wine and our entrees. If I ever find myself in Lisbon again, I would definitely return to try other Portuguese dishes on the patio.

    Cod croquettes

I dined at Belém 2 a 8 two days ago. It was early evening. Service was excellent and attentive. I had classic cod croquettes and they were excellent - hot and very tasty. I also had sea bass with roasted potatoes and veggies and fish was cooked very well. I enjoyed my dinner! Thank you Belém 2 a 8

They served the best meal throughout our Portugal trip. We had codfish cake, octopus salad, and pasta for two people which was just right size for the dinner. Definitely recommend and will come back if we have any chance. ジェロニモス修道院に行く途中、たまたま入ったお店でしたが大当たりでした。お店は落ち着いており、店員さんのサービスは温かく、何よりも今回の旅行で1番美味しい食事を頂く事が出来ました。 おススメのレストランです!

This was a great restaurant! Very friendly, the owner/chef came to our table and told us about the dishes. Being so close to all the tourist attach ions I was surprised that it was NOT a tourist trap. The sitting was lovely and very comfortable . The dishes were presented so nicely and traditional Portuguese but with some twists. I got a rice dish with cod tongue, I was like why not! ah haha It was a bit salty for me but that's the way Portugal seems to like their dishes with a lot of salt! I did like it and ate all the cod tongues out of the rice, once I was full. A lovely meal and very friendly service! Would go back again.

He recommended me some items on the menu here is what I chose: starter-favadas d' unha... (really big beans) one word to describe them DELICOUS... so that was a great start. For the main entree I got the Atum grelhado, which is a tuna filet (big portion) grilled and they put a home made butter on top that is out of this world.. this has been one of the best filets I have ever had. As soon as you arrive you get a platter with cheese, olives and the unbelievable home made butter, also a piece of freshly baked hot bread. He offered me some wines and ask me what region I wanted, I chose Duero.. wine was great too... The manager/server explained to me that it was a Restaurant from Açores which are a group of islands in the middle of the Atlantic that are part of Portugal, he even brought a book to show me Açores (he is from there). I also found out that his wife is the one in the kitchen! I told him tell her everything is delicious and he replied "I taught her good"... Overall a great experience and amazing food... do not hesitate coming here

I wouldn't say it was an inexpensive meal. There is also a suggested tip that was added to the bill. We were given bread. It's not complimentary, and you can decline it. We started off with the razor clams, which had a flavorful broth consisting of garlic, olive oil, white wine, and fresh cilantro. The aged beef tartare was my favorite. The waitress went over the components, which included a torched egg yolk, before mixing it for us. Duck rice is an authentic Portuguese dish made with shredded duck meat and chouriço, cooked in a rich broth. The one here also contained orange zest, which was refreshing. The dish as a whole was salty though. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal.

I was quite intrigued by their menu with lots of fantastic options from razor clams and duck rice and could only subsample a few. I found the end of the meal quite frustrating as the staff charged my card using the wrong currency and then proceeded to mansplain to me, when it was clear to me that the charge was incorrect. While I appreciated that they did take the time to resolve it to avoid forcing a credit card chargeback, this situation was definitely not pleasant. (Bluefin Tuna: C) - I felt like this was three separate components that don't go well together, but work individually for the most part. The torch roasted baby gem lettuce and citrus is a delightful side salad to have. The reduction of peppers and garlic and onion is a good flavor booster. However, searing the bluefin tuna ahi style didn't add anything as the sear didn't add smokiness nor crispiness. Further, I didn't think the tuna fit well with either palette despite the individual components being good. (O Frade Salad: B) - Beautifully vibrant salad with lots of intricate complexity going on. I like all the different components of the salad, from pumpkin to pickled onion to pickled cucumber to mustard seeds. The combination offers a refreshing and large accompaniment to the meal. Both drinks were good with two different flavor profiles. The chocolate cocktail with a subtle hint of coffee reminded me of a dessert which could be ideal as a digestif. It also came with a chocolate twig which made the drink a little extra fun. As for the other cocktail, well I'm sure you know how it goes with tequila :) Both drinks cost about $27 USD which was a wee bit more than I anticipated to spend.
